Came here for their well known huge cream teas!. The scones are home made and are huge! the pot of cream and jam is massive too. One of their cream teas would easily do 2 people. The only thing that lets this place down is one of the waitresses, older lady and quite miserable looking. Quite grumpy never smiles and seems to not want to be there. A smile goes a long long way, nonetheless forget this and have the cream tea, its is legendary and very reasonable too. The Latte is the best I have tasted, even better than Costa! Lunches are lovely too. Tiny little cafe but a lovely location.

After looking for somewhere to eat in Newquay, we came across this little cafe. We’d been in a few years prior and forgotten all about it, clearly about our prior experience too! We were greeted by a woman who gave us some menus to look at and took our drink orders. As a group, we were planning on splitting the orders up so we could pay separately, however the lady insisted that we sorted it by table. After realising it was a cash only place, two members of the group went to withdraw some cash from the Sainsbury’s near by. During this time, the lady came up to our table and asked to take our orders, to which we replied that we weren’t ready as some members of the group were missing. Her response to this was to say “well couldn’t he have ordered first and got the money after?!” In what can only be described as an unpleasant and somewhat rude tone. Because of this, we each ordered our meals before they were back, being spoken to somewhat angrily and grumpily. Once they’d returned, the orders were put through and all food came relatively fast, presented well and tasted brilliant! Definitely can’t fault the kitchen staff as the food was great and a decent price! Whilst eating, there were constant stares at me through a small gap between what looked to be a coffee machine and a wall, which left me feeling very uncomfortable whilst I was trying to eat. Every time this same lady returned to the table, she had an angry look on her face and didn’t seem happy to deal with her customers. Had we been hard work or difficult customers, I could begin to understand why we were being looked down upon, however we had simply just sat down, ordered and waited for our food as anybody else would. When it came to payments, it was surprisingly easy and all bills were settled. Overall, I wouldn’t want to come back to this place. The demeanour and attitude of the only member of staff waitressing really put me off my food, making me constantly feel as though I had done something wrong or I was causing disruption to the cafe (which would be difficult as we were the only ones there). Definitely not a fan of this place and more than likely won’t be coming back!

This cafe is a little gem . Must be the best crab sandwiches in Newquay !!! Omg just amazingly fresh and generous crab meat and soft thick granary bread served with a lovely dressed salad . Great service from two lovely ladies . Ps if you enjoy a quality sparkling farmhouse cider made locally then you have to try the Touchwood cider stocked here . Cornish apple varieties pressed on the farm from their own orchards . Delicious 😋

I had my eye on a seafood tray for some time as I’d been past a few times, I was served by a rude women who barked cash only when I only had Apple Pay, I then walked back to my car and drove all the way around the one way system ordered a seafood tray and blow me she wouldn’t let my son use the loo as it was for “paying customers” told her toe keep it

This place is only small but the scones are huge. Luckily they have a number of options to cater for large and small appetites. Having seen the size of the scones before ordering we opted for one scone each which came with good sized portions of jam and clotted cream.

Really great cafe! The lady running is was lovely, very friendly. Breakfast was amazing! There was a lot of food for the price, and it all tasted delicious, excellent value for money. Drinks were nice too. We had a big breakfast, some regular breakfasts and some flapjacks all were really good. Very dog friendly, there were 7 of us in our group and our 3 dogs. Other customers had dogs too. Would definitely recommend this place! Only downside is that it was cash only, but there is a cash machine at the sainsburys near by.

This is a tiny, informal place that does home cooked food, well. It's so much better than bigger places serving warmed over bought-in stuff from food service companies like Brakes. We had pan-fried sardines with Romesco sauce, hand cut chips and salad. Local, seasonal, made with care. They also do a range of home made cakes which we didn't try but which looked the business. Simple, good quality, and very much recommended.

This is our 4th year in a row here, from breakfast to cream teas….we have sampled the menu extensively! For amazing fresh food (fish delivered by the fisherman) you will not be disappointed and when you look at the prices from a fish and chip shop, this is better value. We eat here most days when on holiday and see no reason to change. Tracey and Dave run an amazing business, and all the other staff are so friendly. Will be back soon.

Lost and hungry at the port of Newquay, I randomly tried to go back in the center, and there I ended up at the Harbour Rest Café. Went inside, I instantly fell in love: it was a small and cute place, with that kind of soft light you can find in summer mornings. Most of all, I loved the white ceiling: I felt like to be on the beach, it was only missing the sand under my feet. I've been welcomed from this super nice lady, and from who I suppose was her son. Both of them really nice and smiling. I ordered a green tea and the special of the day (looking for fresh and local fish) which was Mackerel on sourdough bread and salad. Best meal I had in all my 3 days holiday. Ask for the sauce, it's the perfect touch. In the end I ordered one of the homemade scones to take away (the meal was substantial) and they gave me a really nice box with clotted cream and jam well packed, strawberries on the side. The price was right, I would have been happy to pay more. Absolutely gonna come back to try also the breakfast or maybe just to read a book while drinking a hot tea.Thank you!

Called in here on a rainy afternoon this weekend and oh how glad I am that we did. We had a cream tea and even though it’s a favourite and we’ve had many of them this I can say with all confidence rates right up there as one if not the best . Beautiful homemade (we know because we saw them cooling on a rack) scones, very large x2 with pot of jam, pot of cream, fresh strawberries, huge pot of tea which we couldn’t actually finish =£8 very very good value for money. We watched several very large very delishious meals come out and each one seemed to be enjoyed very much. Tiny little place tucked down a side street but well worth searching out.

We very nearly walked past the tiny frontage of this lovely place, but fortunately we took a second look and decided to go in for a cuppa & cake.

Myself & my boyfriend, popped by Newquay whilst on our week away, in search of a cream tea. This was near by, looked cute & thought we’d pop in.

Some of the very best scones I've ever had. Large, crunchy outside, soft inside and amazingly tasty. From the moment we entered, 2 adults, 1 baby and 2 medium sized dogs, we were treated to an amazing customer service. Couldn't ask more from such a small establishment.

Fabulous warm scones with large portions of clotted cream, jam and fresh strawberrys. Tea was plentiful too. Didn’t eat savoury but from what I saw, looked excellent value.

Stopped for a cream tea, scones were amazing and loads of jam and clotted cream. Kids had very nice sandwiches and it’s dog friendly, they even bought a bowl of water out for her. Great value.

We needed the toilet so we're going to have a coffee and tea only but we upgraded to the large cream tea for one(2 massive scones plenty of jam and cream plus some sliced strawberries) which meant we only paid £2.50 for each scone. No butter is only complaint but I think u can pay extra. Sorry photo does not do it justice lol. 10 metres from stunning view of harbour and bay.

Lovely experience in this cafe - friendly staff, beautiful views and delicious cake. Well placed at the end of the coastal path too.

Just had The Drake and the Mrs Perryman. Both came with plenty of chips, the actual duck dishes were outstanding, really nice. We will be returning to try another dish when we return next year. We were lucky to have crispy skin as well. We spotted the sign for the duck Truck while we were driving to our cottage in Tintagel and decided to give it a go during our stay. We were not disappointed. Top local produce, by the farmer. Keep up the good work, we'll be back
