Exactly what a village pub should be! After a big family day out at Hidden Valley (highly recommend 👌) we were looking for a pub dinner to round off the day. First 2 we tried were fully booked but a couple that were having a drink recommended the Archers Arms to us. Thank you random strangers. Great food. Big portions. The belly pork was fantastic. Pub classics but cooked fresh and well. Interesting and delicious deserts. Fast and pleasant service with the human touch. Nice to be treated to a smile and a friendly atmosphere.

A lot of dogs going on, but I get that they’re the ‘house’ dogs. The menu had a good choice and there were some specials on the board. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was good. It was quite quiet but it was a Monday so that’s understandable. We called for food and were very happy with our choices. 👍🏻

We visited the Archers Arms for sunday lunch last Sunday, they were fully booked in the restaurant but we were able to eat in the bar, we are a family of 5 (11,10 and 6). We had a table right next to a roaring log burner which was lovely. The Sunday lunch is served as a carvery, the portions were very generous and the food was of a very high standard. A lovely local pub with a real friendly vibe. A short drive from Launceston this is a brilliant little local pub, they have a great selection of ciders and a lot of other drinks on offer too including some real ales. There’s always really nice buzz here so you’re bound to have a lovely time when we you stop by. Their food is where they really excel, with all of their food being delightful, a special mention for the mushrooms on toast! I have also heard very good things about their roast but am yet to try it myself. They also have a separate restaurant space so if you want to eat away from the main bustle on the bar you can escape there. Although a meal in front of their fire is the perfect place.

My wife and I moved to the village 7 months ago and had been told the pub did "great Sunday lunches". We've had lunches there during the week but this was our first Sunday experience! Book well in advance to get a table, and no need to dress smartly! The restaurant was full of happy customers, many of whom seemed to know each other. (This is a friendly, local pub). The food, from a carvery, was excellent: a choice of 3 meats and around 7 vegetables, all hot and well cooked! Overfilling your plate was just too tempting! The chef had time to come round and welcome us, and the service was faultless. The price, too, was half of what I'd expected. Will we go there again? Definitely!!

To say it was rough is an understatement! First word we heard coming through the door was 'Dildo'! I'm not a prude but was with a 9 year old at 6pm!! Biggest mistake was that we should have left then but didn't as we were starving! Chose to stay and that was a mistake. Large hairy 'German Shepherd' type dog in the kitchen, food was ROUGH - eggs with the Gammon could have broken a window and had black flaky bottoms - Chips were soggy due to so much water on plate that hadn't been drained from the peas - stale Fudge Cake - the list goes on! Table next to us complained - they ordered Steak and Ale Pie and got some sort of chicken pie - without being told. Not to mention the Flies! Restaurant decor - train station waiting room at best - no atmosphere but at least we were away from the obviously underage groups in the bar swearing! Unfortunately phone lost battery before I could take pics of the 'food'. It was relatively cheap but avoid at all costs!

First time visiting this pub. Travelled from Plymouth to meet the parents for a carvery. The staff are friendly and they always had a smile on their faces. Dining area is at the back of the pub in a separate room from the bar. Food was lovely and hot with fresh top ups coming out regularly plenty of veg choices. Desserts was amazing I had a strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake parents had lemon meringue pie. Food portion size was good. There is parking in a small carpark at the side of the pub which gets busy at times but plenty of street parking or a town hall carpark across the way. I recommend you book for the Sunday carvery as limited tables and proved popular by the older generation. Would definitely go back. Dog friendly.

This goes against most of the reviews so feels a bit awkward... If it was just down to how nice members of staff were, I would have given a 5 (so I feel sorry about the overall score). If it was just about food I would have given a 3: my wife's and kid's choices were barely average, my pulled pork burger was partially burned (I had to remove parts of it) and was just bread and meet, nothing else in it. However, there was a dog in the kitchen! I walked more than ones in front of the kitchen, dog there with staff working next to it. And that, I'm afraid, can only be a 1.

Popped here on a bit of a whim, was nearby on our way back and by gosh are we glad we did! Very dog friendly, even greeted by the lovely pub dog Duke! We visited on a Tuesday night which happens to be ‘steak night’ which includes steak and a drink for £10, which seemed such a bargain that the expectations weren’t overly high, but to our surprise it was absolutely fantastic! The steak was so tender and delicious, I order steak blue and more often than not when it’s served it is overcooked, but my steak was cooked to absolute perfection and the Stilton sauce to go with was to die for! Molly was superb, welcoming and extremely hard working, 100% recommend a visit!

Stumbled across this great pub online and wow it is worth a visit. Great, friendly owners and amazing home made food. My partner had the steak and a drink for £10 (amazing taste and value!) and I had the beef curry with home made poppadoms and chutney. The best curry I’ve ever had from a pub - really fresh and tasty. Good that they offered different currys to suit your pallet - I opted for the madras. The cheesecake was recommended by the owner and he wasn’t wrong about how good they were. We had 1 lemon and 1 mint aero. Huge portions and so tasty. Would definitely return. Exceptional value for everything we had - £35 for 2 mains, 2 desserts and 2 drinks! Thank you all.

An excellent oasis away from the general riff-raff that is Penzance. The menu is pricey, but worth it. Lovely cosy and intimate ambience, and the Romanian girl from Spain is utterly charming in her own staid and sassy way. The other staff are wonderfully bubbly and exuberant and know what they’re doing. Food-wise, I’d recommend the tiger prawns, as they are delightfully chewy and fresh and served piping-hot off a master skillet. I wouldn’t order a vegetarian dish, since chefs these days don’t like cooking vegetarian entrées. So a turf or surf dish would be an ideal choice. The cuisine is casual-gourmet with a nouveau inspiration, though the portions are more generous here than what you’d get at a nouveau venue. One to return to time and time again!

Second visit to this attractive cafe that sits behind one of the main carparks on/near the towans. We chatted outside as they got ready to open and then found a comfy seat inside with a great view. Ordering was easy, the menu is small but has something for everyone and they also cooked us a dish not on the menu which I always find is the mark of hospitality and good customer service. Food was fresh, hot and the St Ewe eggs were delicious!
