I have been visiting storm rush for a number of years and can’t recommend it enough as somewhere to unwind summer or winter I have a favourite lodge but won’t name it as I don’t want to have to fight more people for it. All the lodges offer their own attractions secluded in the woods or high up with magnificent views Great on site restaurant and the amazing Sally and team who manage the place to make sure everyone has a relaxing break Located in a phone signal hole so if you don’t want to be contacted you can relax. Or pick up the improved WiFi and use WiFi calling. I prefer to drop off grid for a few days And very dog friendly Dexter loves his visits

Superb lodge. 1 lake view. Beautiful decor and so large for two people. Jacuzzi bath was what attracted us to this property and did not disappoint. Lodge Even has a large separate bathroom. Lovely and clean. Little extras like bathrobes and box of tea/sugar/coffee and milk for arrival was appreciated. Easy check in/check out which is by key safe. Site access is via some tight country lanes and be careful where satnav takes you If there’s road Closures. Beautiful surroundings, wildlife and private lodge. Limited view of lake. The mill restaurant on site was closed all weekend which we weren’t informed about until check in day. That was unfortunate and the only reason I can’t give 5 stars. Having said that, the wifi is great and we were able to search plenty of eateries around. Looe itself was stunning. Eden project 28min drive. Carnglaze caves just 15mins. And they host festivals in the cave, so defo look it up if in the area. Summary: Private, cosy lodge, very romantic, in beautiful surroundings and in easy reach of Cornwall attractions. Highly recommend. Restaurant onsite was closed all weekend. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

We visited Stonerush lakes in September and we absolutely fell in love with the place. Our lodge was on the very lakeside and every morning the fish, ducks, heron and geese all came hoping for treats to be thrown in. The weather was brilliant which was a bonus as we were able to sit out on the veranda and just relax enjoying the peace and quiet. The lodge itself was immaculate, everything we needed was already there. The veranda is well laid out and we had no worries about our furry friends escaping as the area is sealed off with glass partitions allowing us to see all around. I would not hesitate to recommend Stonerush lakes as a nice peaceful getaway so much so that we even booked next years stay while we were there. A massive thank you to all the staff for everything and for making our stay very memorable :)

6 Hedgerow was located on a fantastic site if you wanted a quiet holiday. Everything work fine, bar the light fitting in the main bathroom. However the lodge was a little tired and needed as good spruce up to rid it of the water damaged (black) oak and the sticky worksurface in the kitchen. The decking around the jacuzzi felt it was close to collapse. The site staff were brilliant especially Sally Donovan who did you proud.

Stunning Stay at Stonerush Lakes We recently spent two nights at Stonerush Lakes, staying in Lodge 11 Lake View, and it was an absolutely stunning experience. The lodge itself was beautifully decorated to a high standard and offered lovely views over the lake. It had everything we could possibly need, including all bedding, towels, and even robes. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a thoughtful welcome pack containing information about the site and surrounding area, as well as a kitchen pack with essentials like milk, teabags, washing up supplies, and dishwasher tablets. The lodge was impeccably clean and fitted our needs perfectly. The site is remote, offering a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. The lodges are spaced far enough apart to ensure privacy, surrounded by trees and bushes. Our lodge featured a hot tub on the patio, which was perfectly sized for four people and maintained at a lovely temperature upon our arrival. While the site is very quiet and may not have much to offer for children, it is the perfect destination for those seeking a tranquil and beautiful getaway. There is an on-site bar and restaurant, though the restaurant is small, so it’s advisable to book in advance if you wish to dine there. The bar is reasonably priced, and the outdoor seating overlooking the lake makes for a pleasant evening drink. During our visit, the restaurant faced some challenges with the regular chef not turning up, leaving one lady to manage the bar area. Despite this, she was incredibly helpful and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed. The stand-in chef, who had only started training in the summer, produced some fantastic food. Although the menu was limited due to his newness, everything we tried was delicious, especially the onion rings, which my wife declared the best she’s ever tasted. Overall, we had a relaxing and special weekend at Stonerush Lakes and would definitely return in the future. If you’re looking for a serene and beautiful retreat, this is the place to go.

This was second time in a Charteroak site with a Hot tub, except this one allowed a dog, so was a hassle-free staycation enjoyed by us all. So nice just to arrive at the lodge use a pin to get the key and no timely check ins etc. The site made sure we were all OK by phone and plenty of helpful advice. Having an EV car it was on the one hand nice to see some lodges had charge poles however some were protected by PINs, ours did not have one not that we expected it. It would have been nice if there was some provision of general charge poles at Reception perhaps or permission to use poles at empty lodges. You simply need the App and scan the QR code to use if no PIN is required. We were able to use a working charger (empty lodge) on last day. The lodge was very nicely set up open plan and was right by a stream and felt a bit like a tree house (7 Streamside). Fantastic use of space with an "L" shaped deck (secure for the dog) with doors leading out of every room including onsite shower. No complaints and would come back again. Nearest shops and eateries would be Looe or Liskard (18-20 mins drive)

Lovely staff and good location for getting around. Had some issues with the temperature of the hot tub but Sally was fantastic at getting it sorted. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that the off road parking was a bit tricky to navigate especially in the dark (- had to reverse back down a very steep slope on two thin strips of concrete) and the lounge area would really benefit from having some curtains. Would recommend and stay again in future (maybe in a lodge with different parking space 🙂)

We've just returned from a week at Stonerush Lakes and what a great holiday we had. The reception staff, Sally and Martha were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was to much trouble. From the very first emails we had when choosing this holiday we found the emails from Sally very helpful, friendly and welcoming. This didn't change throughout and after our holiday. The restaurant staff were equally helpful and friendly and really went the extra mile, I've never tipped so much when eating out. Food was excellent incidentally and a lovely setting too. The accommodation was very good, nice and clean and comfortable. Very quiet surrounding and plenty of wildlife. I don't normally sleep well in a strange bed but no problems here. Wifi worked well which was just as well as no phone signal. Never done this before but have booked another week there next year before we left. Would recommend

From the welcoming emails you receive before your arrival, to the wonderful staff and amazing lodges, it’s such good value for money. It’s situated just a short drive away for a lot of local attractions and places to visit. The park itself is quiet and relaxing and well maintained . There is a bar/restaurant on site that has very good food served there if you don’t feel like cooking. The lady in there was very friendly and welcoming. Sorry, didn’t catch her name . A big shout out too to Sally and the young lady with her in reception, who were very quick with responding to queries and also helpful with local knowledge for trips out. Cannot fault Charter Oaks! We have just returned home from a most relaxing 5 days stay at No.7 Stonerush Valley, Stonerush Lakes, Lanreath, Cornwall. This is a lengthy review, as after reading previous online reviews, I was quite apprehensive! I spoke to a lady named Martha immediately after booking, to discuss some my worrys, she was understanding, efficient and extremely patient. Each concern previously raised had either a documented date of a fault rectified, or a generalised reassuring response. Martha definitely put my mind at rest.  Thank you. Information emails from a lady called Sally, leading up to our stay were perfectly timed and contained useful and precise details, from the onsite restaurant opening hours, menus and even the offer for the team to make any bookings on our behalf, through to property key lock codes, directions to the site and then onwards to our lodge, all clear and exact, advising via both Google maps and What3words Apps.  Completely stress free moving in day! Our lodge may benefit from a bit of TLC in the near future BUT, it was squeaky clean and exactly as shown in the pictures - modern furnishings and fabulous facilities! The Internet worked perfectly throughout, our hot tub was absolutely beautiful and the dishwasher was extremely welcomed (I don't have a working one at home atm!) Any queries we had were immediately responded to by Sally.  It felt as though Sally was there for anything we might need. Thank you again, for all your communications. We expected and hoped for trees, woodlands and a bit of relaxation..... we actually got a treehouse, a squirrell and lots of rabbits, a gurgling stream just beyond our decking, a beautiful picturesque bar/restaurant (with Heron!) within 5 mins walk of our lodge, but most of all, we got peace and tranquility x We would not hesitate to return to the same lodge, or elsewhere on Stonerush Lakes. Absolutely perfect x

We stayed here (Aug 2024) and it was our 2nd year returning as we enjoyed our stay so much last year. Site was well signposted this year from the main road and the key safe code was emailed to us in advance so check in was easy. We spoke with some of the staff in advance and everyone was very friendly and professional. The lodges are laid out in a thoughtful way so you don't feel overlooked or overcrowded and all have a hot tub. We stayed at 9 Valley View and the hot tub was located on the decking but fenced off on the road side to afford privacy, there was also a roof covering over it which was appreciated with all the spells of rain we had over the week. The lodge was spacious, high quality and well maintained. They are ideal for us having a toddler as we can relax after he has gone to bed. There is a restaurant on site but no shop so would recommend taking any food or drink with you as nearest small shop is approx 15 min drive and supermarket approx 30. Polperro and Looe both approx 20 min drive away (you need coins for parking at Polperro!), Newquay and Holywell approx an hour, Liskeard, Eden Project and NT Lanhydrock approx 30 mins, Fowey approx 45 min.

Booked a 4 day break with my wife and 2 dogs at Stonerush Lakes as a last minute break in July 2024 and what a fantastic choice is proved to be. It is within an hour by car from where we live. Decided on somewhere close to home for various reasons including the July traffic in the south west. We enjoyed the most amazing holiday in the beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Staying in Streamside 6 we enjoyed the benefits of it being uber private with the decking overlooking the stream and the hot tub. Everything was immaculately clean. We are currently staying at this peaceful site. At our first visit to The Old Mill we were greeted by a nice and friendly barman/waiter, who was professional, and considerate. He seemed genuinely interested in each guest and eager to please, including my dog. There was a wait for food despite only two other families there but when it did arrive it was nice enough. We went back the next night for drinks and again received the same welcome and service. It was not particularly busy but more staff are needed than one bar staff. We went back for dinner again today. It was a different member of staff today who told us there was an extremely limited menu with a lot of the menu unavailable which was a disappointment. Overall the barman was great and a real credit but waiting times are an issue, the food is okay when the full menu is available, eating/drinking outside in the evenings is a bit chilly as the trees need to be cut back a bit so you're not in the shade but that is the same all around the site - great views are hidden away behind the trees.

Hot tub was lovely and warm and was idyllic sat in it watching the sun go down behind the hill through the trees. The only downside was the cost of the onsite takeaway fish n chips, nearly £40 for 2 portions, same price as if you were sat in the Restaurant. The lodge had everything we needed for our short stay. The only recommendation I would make would be to have some outside lighting on the decking. Would stay again. Charteroak's Sally and Martha were kind and helpful throughout. Absolutely amazing! We are staying here and wondered down for some food and drinks and felt at home! A lovely member of staff called Amanda was incredible. Made us feel at home and she was so accommodating! I would 100% recommend coming here! Also they are dog friendly! Which is even more of a win

I stayed at 9 Valley View at Stonerush Lakes for a long weekend with family and we were extremely impressed. The accommodation was excellent, well furnished, nice decor, well equipped and extremely clean. The hot tub on the verandah was a bonus. The views and the location were stunning. We had dinner the first night at the Old Mill on site which was gorgeous, both the location and food. Sally who oversees the bookings was so helpful and offered to book us a table at the Old Mill on our first night. We could not fault anything from booking to the instructions on how to get to the location, where to find the keys and information supplied in the property on arrival. It was also the small touches, such as the milk in the fridge and tea bags and coffee provided that makes this somewhere we will return to.

Had the most amazing stay at Stonerush lakes, we stayed in lodge 5 treetops and it catered for all our needs, the lodge was lovely and had a super comfy queen size bed in the master bedroom. We had phone calls leading up to our stay from staff at Charteroak and they also rang us when we had settled in to make sure there were no problems which we had never experienced before with any other company, felt like us having an excellent experience was important to them. I think 5 treetops had the added bonus of being very secluded and the area was so peaceful and relaxing. Looking forward to booking again, we have found our new favourite place to stay in England.

Had another lovely stay at this wonderful holiday park in yet another lovely lodge. The staff are always lovely to deal with and are extremely helpful, and they all work extremely hard to keep this lovely holiday park running, which clearly shows. Thanks to all of the staff for having me & my cocker special (Ruby ) to stay again as we both love it here at stonerush Lakes.

We have stayed in many lodges, at least 2 holidays per year for the last 5 or so years. Stonerush Lakes is great for a quiet break as the lodges are well spaced and away from any tourist areas (Looe for example is 7 miles away). The lodge itself, Valley View 4, was well laid out and very comfortable. We liked, the hallway/utility as a great space for coats and shoes and the light and airy open plan kitchen, dining and living rooms. We used the Hot Tub most evenings (6 of 7) and cooked every evening in the Lodge. The only things we would change in the lodge is a few more spoons for mixing only 2 larger metal spoons and no wooden ones (not sure 4 potato peelers needed!) and as other have mentioned the outside cushions taking up space in the lodge. We had issues with getting to the site on the first day, but after readjusting our route and then asking Google to not allow access from the private road on the other side of the site, every other journey was fine. Around the site, always a drive away, we went to the old classics of Polperro (felt a bit 'out of season') and Looe together with a number of inland areas. For those who like a walk, try out Goliath Falls (drive to it's car park) and then go to the car park and cafe at Siblyback Lake (a stroll around the lake is just under 3 miles).

We came to stay for our 32nd wedding anniversary and what a lovely way to spend it. Chalet perfect and staff so helpful. So peaceful waking up to the ducks and the birds singing. Hot tub was bliss. everything you could possible need was supplied including a cute little set of toiletries and a welcome pack of tea/coffee/sugar and kitchen essentials. On site restaurant did amazing food and was great value for money. Sally was so helpful and both emailed and left in the chalet, information on anything at all you might need to know such as places to visit/medical information/taxis/takeaways etc. I would highly recommend Stonerush Lakes.

Amazing place, the lodges are done to a very high spec. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Very private lodges, if you are looking for peace and quiet with some luxury for a few days, this is your place to go. It was a good base as well to explore Cornwall. The road into the location is a single track road so just take that slowly. We cannot wait to go back!

Beautiful site, so peaceful and tranquil for a really chilled out holiday. The “Hygge” lodge was amazing; fab (massive) bed; double jacuzzi and sauna, and beautifully furnished. Kitchen had everything you would need, including a little box of wash-up, tea/coffee etc., and milk in the fridge! Cinema room was a relaxing plus, but the surroundings were truly “back to nature.” Bit of a trek down single track lanes to get there but soooo worth it! The staff - especially Sally Donovan” couldn’t have been more helpful. Will definitely be back.

Just back from the most wonderful week at 1, Water's Edge, Stonerush Lakes for my 60th Birthday - What a lovely surprise from Sally and the team at Charteroak of a card, balloons and bottle of Prosecco ! Thankyou once again Sally and the team ! We couldn't have chosen a lovelier place to celebrate my birthday, what a lovely way to wake up from a comfy bed next morning to a beautiful lakeside view. Stonerush Lakes is so calming and peaceful, the only sound was the gentle bubbling of a blissful hottub in the decking overlooking the lake ! The lodge had everything we needed, and parking was right outside the door. Stonerush was in a good location to visit Looe and Polperro both around 7 miles away (approx 15 min drive in the car ). We definitely recommend Stonerush and would definitely stay again !

We had a very enjoyable weeks stay at Stonerush Lakes in September, a very peaceful and tranquil setting; blessed with wonderful weather The quality of our lodge was excellent, being finished and equipped to a high standard. The beds were very comfortable with the white bed linen and towels supplied of good quality. The kitchen was well equipped with cooker/hob, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. A good range of kitchen utensils were supplied along with pans, crockery and glasses - a home from home! The hot tub on the veranda was a real bonus, being maintained daily so it was always clean to use. The on-site restaurant was very good, serving delicious food with a smile. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, with nothing being too much trouble. We can highly recommend to family and friends, as we can the nearby attractions of The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Annette & Geoff

Stayed at 4 Valley View. A brand new lodge which is beautifully furnished with a fabulous view from the windows and decking area. A really comfortable stay. The hot tub didn’t disappoint, and was checked each day by staff. A previous review has also commented that a box for cushion storage on the decking would help, as would quilt options. There was only a 13.5 tog quilt and we stayed on the heatwave week! We also observed and fed back that it would be helpful to have kitchen roll, a surface cleaner, cooking oil, salt etc provided, or at least advise on the details that these are NOT provided. The site was tucked away and private, beautifully maintained and the staff friendly and helpful and aim to please. We had one meal at the Old Mill, recently refurbished and lovely. The food was very good and our dietary needs sorted. We were worried that it might have been quiet with only us in there, but it was busy with a nice atmosphere. It’s a long way for us to travel, but we would stay again if holidaying in the area.

This setting is fantastic: quiet and relaxing with plenty of wildlife surrounding you. 1 Waters Edge was in a fantastic location overlooking one of the lakes with plenty of ducks, geese and fish swimming beneath the large terrace and owls in the surrounding trees. This location is perhaps more overlooked than the other lodges as it’s just a stones throw from the restaurant and bar but it didn’t feel like a lack of privacy as so quiet and no lodges ahead of you. The hot tub overlooking the lake was ideal to take in the surroundings with bathroom access directly to the tub. The overhead canopy was also ideal for the April showers we encountered. The lodge was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Customer service was excellent before, during and after our visit. The whole site is kept to a high standard and fits in with the lovely surrounding environment. It is also helped by being well placed for visiting the local harbours of Looe, Polperro and direct roads to most of Cornwall. We look forward to booking again and would highly recommend to others.

*SUPERB* we couldnt have wished for more. Beautiful location, secluded lodge and absolute privacy. Just Perfect 5* 😍 The Lodge was just immaculate and well stocked with everything we would need for our stay to a very high standard. We had a gift box on arrival with all the 'necessities' tea/coffee/sugar/washing up liquid/scrubbie/bin liner - and even Biscoff biscuits). A pint of milk in the fridge - which we hadn't even thought of and a beautiful Elsyl gift bag of toiletries in the shower room. Incredibly thoughtful and very much appreciated. The hot tub and bath was just sheer indulgence. All the staff at Sykes made this holiday perfect but a special shout out to Sally (Guest Services Administrator) who went above and beyond to make this holiday truly special. I would highly recommend this Lodge and we will definitely be back again as 4 Stonerush Valley has captured our hearts x

We spent a week here in November and a week in late February with our dogs. We stayed at 2 Valley View both times. This lodge is aimed at couples which suits us perfectly. The layout is great. The kitchen is well equipped, there is a wonderful bathroom, and the bed is very comfy. We love the wider complex and how peaceful it is and how well maintained it is. We feel Stonerush is a better offer than somewhere like centre parcs if you are really looking to get away from it all, but you still wish to go out and about in Cornwall. We had a small problem when we arrived which was very quickly and expertly resolved by Sally Donovan. We will definitely be back.

Stayed at 3 Valley view for an initial stay of 7 nights but loved it that much we extended by a couple of nights. Beautifully quiet site set in the beautiful Cornish countryside. The lodge is well appointed , spacious, light and airy. Kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for any length of stay. Was great being able to use the Hot-tub and friendly staff visited daily to maintain chemical levels. The wrap around deck is very spacious with superb views of the surrounding countryside. I had a few queries whilst there and dealt with Sally Donovan. She was great, always responding quickly, very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Thanks to Sally we’ve booked to go again in March.
