Chestnut Meats Butchers Shop & Cafe in Cheshire East

Stopped off here en route to a long weekend in Wales. Didn’t know the place at all but well signed and well worth the slight diversion from the main road (not even 5 mins). Got talking to the owners who were very friendly and when we were served the food (and particularly the steak and onion sandwich) was excellent. The shop seemed well stocked and certainly sold items we might have bought had we been heading home rather than heading out on holiday.

Excellent Goat and Kid chops [for BBQ], very meaty & lots of them. They wowed appreciative taste buds. These were delivered well within the delivery time and packed with soft freezer bags of 'ice' that I'm re-using. Will happily return here in a couple of weeks.

Had a pit stop on the way to Snowdon, what a lovely cafe! Brilliant tasty sausage and cheese toasties from their own butchery, lovely friendly staff and good service, great value, and really interesting local produce on the shelves (Cheshire vodka?!) - well worth a visit!

Got 2kg of boneless goat meat a couple of weeks back. Made a huge Jamaican curry goat and it was delicious. The meat was absolutely spot on. Great quality. Will definitely buy from again.

Very slow service. We called in for a coffee. We waited over 15 minutes for it, although there was only group of 3 other people there. We very nearly gave up waiting.

Brilliant quality meat.The goat meat was so tender.I must remember to wear my glasses next time as I ordered marrow bones instead of mutton saying that they did make a lovely stock. They are reasonably priced arrived well packaged ,I had updates on the delivery and it arrived on time.

My son and myself came across this lovely cafe and butchers shop last year, on our way to Wales. We had a goat burger meal, and called in on our way home for more of the same. Naturally, we returned this year, again visiting Wales. This time it was goat curry! Discovered that they deliver and received my first order last week. Made my own goat curry on Sunday, absolutely lovely. Plenty more meat ,mince and liver in the freezer. Highly recommended

Needed to find some kid goat meat to cook a particular Easter dish and found Chestnut Meats online. The meat arrived by courier, vacuum packed and diced on the bone the size I'd requested. After slow roasting in the oven for 3 hours, the kid goad was really tender and came off the bone nicely. It was delicious. Definitely very good quality.

We always buy goat from here. Best goat burgers and product is really good. I also bought the chicken which was delicious and could tell the quality was good. I do think is a bit pricey (post covid specifically) but I suppose they don’t have any competition in price and quality, so nowhere else I will go.

I had been seeking quality goat meat for a long time, but it had all been in vain. To be honest, they were pathetic. Then I came across Chestnut and ordered a goat leg. It's the most excellent goat meat I've tasted since moving to the UK. Another critical factor is that whenever I went to get goat meat, I always got 50% bone. I received a good bit of actual meat here. They also packed the products with care. They are the best in every aspect. Yes, I had to pay a little high shipping fees, but considering the quality of the meat and the manner it was packaged, I don't mind at all. Also if you order big quantities or different types of meat, the cost will be offset.

Lovely little shop and lovely staff . The place was spotless and a great selection of local produce, it's usp is the goat meat , the young lady went into the butcher's and got me a portion to suit my needs. Coffee shop and a frozen selection of their produce including Bambi burgers whoops venison , would visit again for sure.

Been ordering amazing quality goat meat from them for the last six years and they never disappoint. I love using their meats for the Indian goat curries and their burgers are absolutely delectable. The order arrived well packed and temperature controlled in away that even if it’s sitting outside your door till the evening, the meats are likely to stay chilled to the right temperatures. This was a jewel of a stop if you're a Brit Stop member, the owners are really lovely, and enjoy a good chat, we spent the night on our way to Cornwall, and woke to a lovely greeting from the owner, the shop is stocked with local products of all sorts, and all the meat is from also local farms, then butchered in the back shop, and the food is gorgeous, I stocked up on a few things before we left to continue on our journey, but not before we had a hearty cooked breakfast to set us up for our drive, excellent stop for an overnight Brit Stopper, or just to go and sample some amazing food, loved it........

Spotted this butchers shop on ay into Nantwich so on our return called in. Very impressed. Got some venison sausages. Cafe looked good but didn't stop for refreshments. Really clean and welcoming.

Our second visit to Chessnut meats and they did not disapoint. The all day breakfast is a winner, freshly cooked and where possible local produce. Prepackaged bacon and sausage bought and straight into the freezer for another day. Can't fault it.

I cannot fault Chestnut Meat's service at all. I called last minute before Easter to order goat meat. A very nice gentleman answered my telephone queries with great patience. My order was delivered by DHL within 2 days. The meat was packaged well and was delicious cooked in a curry. Exemplary service.

This is the second time I've used Chestnut Meats for Easter. Although lamb seems to be the traditional meat for Easter, goat or kid is also eaten in Greece and the Middle East. I love the flavour of goat milk and cheese and the meat is delicious. Goats produce much less methane than cows too. Chestnut Meats deliver their parcels promptly and wrapped to the highest standards with care to keep the contents cool. We'll done everyone and Happy Easter.

Pleasant venue. Sat in the sun on the veranda. Parking good and close to the building. Bacon roll average. Bacon reasonable quality - a bit gristly. Main criticism was the slow service taking 20-25 minutes to receive the bacon roll even though the cafe was not particularly busy and two members of staff on duty. Feel that the young staff need some direction from an experienced manager.

I have ordered goat meat and goat liver! Exceptionally! For all the people that are anemia , problems with the stomach processing the meat, I suggest to try goat meat! Amazing meat, amazing delivery and the packing is beyond expectations! I wish that have postage much cheaper, but now I understand why.. By the way, you become my favourite meat shop!
