The food was overpriced and had to be returned twice as it wasn't hot. Ignored by a member of staff whilst trying to re-order. Supervisor refused to reduce the bill because we had eventually eaten what we ordered (although we had to order three times), despite the hassle and the lengthy wait to receive it. If prices are this inflated, then the food and service must be spot on and it simply wasn't. I'm posting this review after no response to my email of complaint to the manager a week ago. An arrogant attitude towards a reasonable complaint. What does it matter if they lose my custom? There will still be plenty of people still prepared to negotiate the country lanes to get here. Just make sure it's worth it.

Lovely village pub with a nice outdoor seating area. There is a good selection of beers on tap, some of which are locally brewed and are dangerously enjoyable! Had a light lunch, which does not do justice the portion you get. A great spot indoors or out to enjoy a bite to eat and a few drinks

Came here on Sunday with the in-laws. It's been a while since we last came, and if anything, it's only got better. We love this cosy country pub. The atmosphere is perfect. The food is tremendous. I had the roast ribeye of beef, my partner had the cheese and potato pie. Both were excellent. For pudding, I had the millionaire pudding, and my partner had the rhubarb frangipan tart. Again, both to die for. Nice selection of beers, and a lovely patio outside which is perfect in the sun.

Highly recommend the veggie roast. As someone that often doesn’t eat meat, roast dinners can be really disappointing. However the Swans version was great! The mushroom and kale wellington was beautifully cooked. And I don’t know what they did to that kale but man it was delicious. There was so many nice veggies served with the pie, as well as a cauliflower cheese to share as a side. The place had a really lovely atmosphere and the staff were attentive and friendly.

Lovely little gastropub, we booked in advance for a Sunday evening meal but it was fairly quiet upon our 7:45pm arrival that we found we didn’t need to. We both decided on the roast dinner for main, was toying with getting a starter but decided against, I’m glad I did as the portion was very generous! Had a great selection of beers and wines too. Will definitely return if we are in the area.

This is a lovely country pub with cosy log fires. Menus are changed daily and offer a sensible range of options which don’t over complicate the menu. The food is very good but not cheap. The Sunday lunch I had was £22. It was very good though. It is a large pub and gets very noisy unfortunately and service is affected as staff are dealing with high volumes. It is a much nicer experience during the week when it is quieter. Would recommend if you can afford to pay higher than elsewhere.

Tremendous food and traditional pub feel. Jerry Brunning has done a fabulous job here. The original Brunning and Price pubs have lost their way now, especially the pub management, but great to see Jerry reviving the spirit of their earlier successful days through Pubs Ltd. We have been to the Swan for just drinks and also a few meals. The food is excellent, especially the steaks - I had a £32 fillet last night that was succulent, tender, perfectly cooked and accompanied by perfect chips. The bar is well stocked and the staff seem knowledgeable and attentive. House wines "on draught" sounds dodgy, but they are actually all really good - I have tried them all! Do yourself a favour and visit The Swan - you will not be disappointed.

We have been to the Swan a few times now and have enjoyed the experience each time. The food and service are always of a high standard. Our most recent visit coincided with their curry week. The Swan is great if you just want a drink at the bar or there is plenty of space if you fancy dinning. Outdoors the patio is a good large space with lots of seating. And recently a well deserved winner of the “Best Cheshire Pub” award.

Lovely ambience and very friendly and attentive staff who even managed to put out a little fire we created on our table by placing our paper menu too close to the candle!!! Food was great as well. Not a full five stars purely because the steak we shared was a little fatty. Delicious cocktails and ales which bartender was very knowledgable about, with offer to taste before deciding. We would definitely visit again.

lovely experience in a well run gastro pub. the food was top drawer apart from the potatoe roasties which I thought were a little bit tougher than they needed to be. the meat was cooked to perfection. the desserts were also of a high standard but felt my cheesecake didn't carry the creamyness I'd have liked, plenty of sharp flavours on show with the sorbet and fresh raspberries. staff were attentive despite how busy the place was.. well done. beers were very quaffable and felt that if I'd have had more time would have enjoyed taking a tour of all the hand pumped ale on offer.

We arrived as a party of 6 for a 5pm Saturday booking. Having initially been served with drinks and our menus we waited 40 mins before having to go to find the staff to ask why they hadn’t been to take our order only to find them eating their own tea! Having grudgingly taken our orders we waited another 35 mins for our food to arrive, all the time trying to keep two very young children amused. People arriving after us had been served their food long before us. When the food arrived one steak, asked for to be medium rare, was blue, condiments weren’t offered, an extra plate for the childrens’ food never arrived and even had to hunt the staff down again for the bill and hunt them down again to bring the card machine so we could pay. We went on recommendations from friends but never again. Just an aweful experience and having paid £125 just shocking service.

We had a lovely meal here last night . The food and staff were all very good. It was very quiet, so not much atmosphere. Nothing to do with the establishment itself ,but the road from Wrenbury to Marbury is an absolute disgrace and will put us off from returning to the pub through a genuine concern over damage to my car. I mentioned it to the manager, as it must be affecting business and they need to be petitioning the council to effect repairs. As I say , no reflection on the pub which was very good indeed .

Always enjoy a day out to the Swan. Found this many moons ago on a tame Canal Boat stag do. The groom said at the time it’s the best meal he’s ever had and I would have to agree, especially as his wedding breakfast was a sausage roll so there’s no comparison. Have been back two or three times since and the food has always continued to impress, as has the range of beers on tap. Staff are exceedingly pleasant and very accommodating. Menu is updated daily and the produce and ingredients used are second to none. A hidden gem in the Shropshire/Cheshire area

Went today, the regular menu wasn’t very varied so we chose off the curry menu. The black pudding somosa’s where very nice, the lamb koftas where not seasoned and not very good value for £6.95. I had the lamb dupiaza, it was alright but it was a double onion dish, they topped it with dried hot dog onions!! They where horrible! The portions where small, we shared the portion of unseasoned rice, which was fine because at that point I didn’t want to eat anymore, the naan wasn’t seasoned and very tasteless, such a shame because they obviously thought it was good value and tasted great but it really didn’t!!!
