Kinderton House Hotel in Cheshire East

Visited to meet a friend for coffee, this was a good half way point for us. Service was good, they had decaff option which was a plus, nice atmosphere.

Beautiful place to stay , eat , drink and celebrate, plenty of indoor and outdoor space which is all clean and up to date..decorated lovely perfect as a celebration venue.. Great staff..great chef..food was tasty and fast to the table. Didn't have any pudding, but some of our party did, and they looked fantastic.. lovely park for kids by the outdoor area, plenty of undercover area to eat, and drink ..Great experience over all x

Stayed here a few times and unfortunately it's gone down hill a little. The greeting could not be better, such a friendly and professional first impression. But.. rooms bit tired and extremely dusty carpets. Had to pre book breakfast, time and option. Then waited over 20 minutes after chosen time. Very mediocre breakfast, I asked the evening before if I could have poached egg and the young lady said I don't know and wandered off. Wasn't offered choice of bread just overcooked poached egg on already buttered white bread, soggy from egg. Hubby had vegetarian breakfast that was much better.

Helpful staff, beautiful hotel. Outside were heated marquees and a separate well equipped play area for the kids

This was the ideal location for a wedding that took place nearby. The service was excellent couldn't fault it at all. As for the room it was newly refurbished and very comfortable. We would certainly stay there again. 👍

I have to say that although I was only there for one night I was hugely impressed. It is the first time in a long time I have had someone offer to help with the bags, take us to the room to show us where it is rather than just give us directions, provide plates for a late night take away in the room for etc A really lovely comfy room too, immaculate. And the breakfast was delicious!  I will be back again, hopefully in time to have an evening meal in the restaurant this time! and I highly recommend this place to others. Thank you!

Went for a meal and drinks with friends lastnight. Staff are all really friendly and the food was nice, but we all thought the cocktail drinks were watered down. In pevious visits this wasn't the case. Hopefully this will be addressed and won't happen again.

Don't order your drinks from the table I've had food come quicker in other places 25 min and it wasn't even bizzy

Wonderful food and excellent service

After being left bitterly disappointed from a visit to the nearby kings lock,we ventured here hoping for better and very much received it. We were greeted to a modern,clean interior with friendly staff. I was impressed for a small Hotel/Restaurant venue that they had hand pull real ale available,two in fact,TT Landlord and Weetwoods Cheshire Cat.Safe but wise choices for a venue that isn't a real ale pub first and foremost after all. Our drinks arrived my TT Landlord on great form and ordered our food. As is only natural we found ourselves looking in splendour at the dishes coming out to other guests.A great array of choices were available and clearly freshly cooked to order. I had a mixed grill with Peppercorn Sauce.It was easily one of the very best I had ever had,bags of flavour throughout and a generous portion to boot. We will return again in the very near future.

We went here for my daughter’s birthday, it was our first visit, the food was lovely with such generous portions and the staff were all very friendly and attentive, we will definitely recommend to friends and return again soon 😊

Stayed at the kinderton through work for two nights, really pleasurable experience. Staff and owner very friendly and attentive, rooms are warm, very clean and comfortable. Food is first class and the breakfast is definitely something to be tried, great selection of ales and lagers, the service is excellent . Would most definitely stay there again and would highly recommend. Thanks guys great job.

Visited the Kinderton yesterday for my wife’s special birthday. Ian and his staff supplied great food and service. Nothing was too much trouble for Ian. Made us feel really welcome. Will definitely return.

Really good hotel with great parking. A bit of traffic noise in the mornings but nothing horrific and if the window is closed it’s hardly noticeable. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast is on the next level……absolutely stunning. Really good value hotel and very convenient if visiting folk in the local area. Would recommend.

It was good food and a good price. They have an interesting table concept where you push a button for help which was novel although it didn't always work. The only thing is I think this is an outside place... inside felt a little cold and was a bit too spacious. A bit is great but this was a bit too much. Lovely though.

We stayed a night during our UK road trip. The food at the pub was really great and the room clean and quiet. As a note for future visitors: there are two entrances, one for the pub and the other for the hotel. You can still access the hotel from the pub via a staircase. The gentleman that greeted us was kind enough to help with our bags as he got us to the right spot to get checked in 😊

Just wanted to say thank you to you and the team for hosting our Christmas party in December , everything went smoothly, all staff were friendly and attentive. Its the first time visiting the Kinderton although I've passed it many times. Is it worth a visit? Yes! Was the food and service good? Yes! Would I go again? Yes! Also parking was not an issue. Expect road traffic to be busy at peak times on the main road Infront of the hotel so give yourself time to get there.

Love this place, very friendly staff & management, always going the extra mile to make sure everyone is happy & food is excellent, looking forward to my next visit

Came on a Sunday for a works Christmas meal the food was great lovely but we all felt rushed to go yet it was only 6:30pm they kept turning the music off the atmosphere wasn’t great there very boring we all ended up eating our food and going the pub next door won’t go for a Christmas do again there

The system they've put in place made us feel really safe and the buzzers to place orders, ask for the bill etc are something which would be great in all large restaurant/bars.Food was fine - we had burgers and chipsStaff were efficient and friendlyBooking system, evident cleaning, table spacing and outdoor heaters all made it feel secure as well as comfortable.

We have been to the kinderton tonight for the first time, will be coming again. Ian is amazing 💓xxxx

Brilliant time at the kinderton. Well looked after by the staff and great food. My mother is coeliac and had a great selection of food for her. They have put so much hard work in to making sure everyone is so safe and distanced.We will certainly be visiting again when we are able

Visited with my friend and sat outside due to Covid restrictions, we were absolutely freezing as not near a heater and when we asked if we could move to one of the tables with heater we were told they were booked but they were empty the whole time we were there. We also waited an hour to be able to order our food and when it arrived it was rather disappointing. Wouldn’t visit again.

Very covid safe practices used by all staff. It was our first time eating here & we were very impressed with the food. Tasty fish & chips with the option of homemade curry sauce. Sizzling Steak fajita was an absolute treat. Highly recommended

Booked a table and spoke to the restaurant twice confirming our table but ended being given the wrong table! After speaking to Ian he finally sorted us out with the right table. Lovely food!

Excellent food! We had a range of food (burgers, chicken skewer, haddock carbonara, kids meals) Portions were good, 4 different types of fries to chose from, good portion sizes. Personally had the chicken skewer and it was great, full of flavour! Would recommend

I went to the kinderton with a friend during the eat out to help out scheme. meal amounted to 15 pounds with two meals and drinks with deserts. Shall definitely go again.

We decided to visit the Kinderton again to try their food for the Tapas night and they did not disappoint . Food was lovely as well as the ambience and all felt very safe due to their distancing rules .

We had a great girls night at the Kinderton!! We had three pornastar Martini trees which were delicious. Ian was great couldnt fault the service very attentive. Perfect location for some cocktails we would highly recommend

Called in for lunch after a long journey. Had the steak ciabatta with chunky chips. Great friendly service and lovely food.

Good value meal enjoyed here with the family. We ate outside as we had the dog with us. Very accommodating and good covid security.

Booked here with my husband and daughter for evening meal. I ordered scampi and chunky chips, hubby ordered sirloin steak and daughter ordered chicken burger. To be honest, I thought it was just glorified pub food. Nothing to write home about, chips were quite undercooked in my opinion and it was just very average. The food is presented nicely but it was just average with posh restaurant prices. I was quite disappointed when we asked for ketchup and vinegar and they brought the actual bottles to the table. If you are trying to be a 'posh' restaurant then in my opinion sauce should have been in a condiment dish and vinegar either in sachets or a glass bottle not plonked on the table in the original bottles. Very cheap option!Would I return? No!Was it nice? Yes, we enjoyed it but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it to friends. After all its pub grub, frozen food made to look nice but at the end of the day you can roll it in glitter all you want, it's still pub grub.No atmosphere, no ambient lighting and just a very dull restaurant.I would say you get what you pay for but its not even cheap! Luckily we went when it was the government eat out deal but even at £50 I felt quite robbed!Definitely won't be returning.

We didn't have a booking and popped in by chance, we were so glad we did. We had our dog with us and we sat in their outside space which is undercover. They have clearly gone to lots of effort to introduce covid measures which make you feel really safe. The food and service was excellent which left us wanting to return for more especially when we saw some other who had ordered the afternoon tea.

I visited The Kinderton today for lunch with my friend. Booked for 12 noon, and was offered a table straight away. The call was handled fabulously. Warmest welcome when I arrived, all COVID-19 requirements were fulfilled without spoiling the ambience of the vibe. Rose needs a special word of Thanks - she was kind, understanding, fully explained what we needed to do and was very endearing. In fact all the staff were. Everywhere we looked staff were working hard to comply to the requirements of 2 m separation etcThank you Kinderton - after 6 months of lockdown, you were our first restaurant visit and you smashed it!!!!

I visited with a group of work colleagues 19th Aug. There was 6 of us within our work bubble so we sat in the gazebo so undercover whilst outside. I have to say as far as Covid safe goes I think they have this spot on, we all felt very safe we were welcomed in, asked to sanitise, explained their one way system around the restaurant and their toilets control one in one out system, shown to our seats. All drinks were table service again controls to avoid queues at the bar. Whilst the restaurant was busy during the eat out to help out scheme we did not feel any pressure to order quickly , drinks ordered and delivered to our table timely. Food ordered and delivered also very quickly for a large table. I have to say all meals were delicious and enjoyed by all. We wIll all defo be returning I’m sure.

We visited the Kinderton Arms for the first time as a party of four on the 21 August ,we had a enjoyable evening we were greeted by the owner Ian and show to our table the decor was excellent which added to the experience.The food for all of us was cooked to perfection for the four of us which consisted of starters and main courses. All of the staff were excellent with the service that we received. We can defineatley recommend the Kinderton and we cant wait for our next visit .

Just been to the kinderton for dinner.The place was very busy but Bails at the front of house was very friendly and welcoming. The bar was very busy but still the service was excellent. The waitress, Hannah, was attentive and really friendly and the food came very timely.I had the garlic mushrooms and the tandoori kebab and both of which were incredible!

I visited the Kinderton with my partner on Monday evening and was blown away by the food and fantastic service. A special thanks has to go out to Ian and Hannah for looking after us so well, very welcoming and attentive. The restaurant felt extremely safe, they have taken the government guidelines very seriously, there is a one way system around the restaurant and the tables well spaced apart. Food was delicious, I had the garlic mushrooms to start and the sun dried tomato carbonara for my main- both of which were exceptional. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be returning!

This was the 3rd consecutive week that we had visited the Kinderton for a late lunch. As on previous weeks the staff operated an excellent Covid policy which should give everyone the confidence to visit for a drink / meal. We sat outside on table 112 and for the 3rd time we ate and for the 3rd time the food and service was excellent. The staff are young, friendly and extremely professional. They are a credit to themselves and the hotel. We shall be regular visitors in the future and I don’t have any hesitation in recommending it.

Granted the service was exceptionally slow however I don’t believe they expected as many visitors as they had on Monday night. The weather was stunning so outside was full; not everyone had food but it added to the issues. The food we had was lovely; the steak was nice although I wouldn’t pay £20. Thanks to the government scheme I paid half price. Winner!! My husband had the summer fruit crumble which he said was one of the best he’d had and we’re both experts in this area!! What I really want to pull out though is the social distancing measures in place, from walking in, using the toilets and leaving the measures were excellent. I did tell the owner when I left - credit where credit is due. I felt very safe so much so I’ve booked for next week :)

Took over 70 mins for food to arrive, so we ended up leaving. They didn’t seem bothered about the wait despite it being significantly long, and various other tables receiving their food before us (despite coming in 10-20 mins after us). For context, we were a table of 2 who ordered extremely simple food to cook (sharing plate etc). Definitely won’t be returning for food, there’s much better in Middlewich and surrounding areas.

Soon after lockdown was lifted we popped out for a family drink and lunch.Food was gorgeous.Not a great kids menu but my kids found something.The outdoor seating area is so nice.All covid measures were being taken.Cant wait to go back

Really nice internal/external seating environment and good food.Food was very nice, threes a well stocked bar with cocktails etc if you like that kind of thing and do a lovely coffee.There's a particularly nice outside eating area. Perfect for eating outside on a warm, lazy Sunday afternoon.

4 of us booked a table for 7pm, on entrance we were told food was taking longer due to being really busy with the 'eat out help out' offer, not a problem, yes it was a bit of a wait but the food is well worth waiting for, served hot, plentiful and tasty, the staff were fab, kept checking we were ok and apologising for the wait. This covid has totally changed all of our lives, everything takes longer, new systems, rules that change nearly daily, everyone tries harder to make sure people are safe and happy. This place is run and owned by lovely people, who are all trying to get use to big changes, and keep the customers happy and try to make a living. We were all patient when we queued at the supermarket!, we all chilled out and made the most of being out. Cheers xxxx

We happened to go at the start of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme which did makes things a bit crazy, so we had to wait a bit longer than normal for everything. But all the staff were so friendly and helpful and all the food we had was brilliant. Once we'd had our food the manager, totally unprompted, gave us some extra discount just for the wait. Fantastic! It was first visit since lockdown and we'd definitely go again.

We booked a table for dinner snd I have to say the whole experience was just spot on. All the staff were extremely professional and very friendly. We sat outside at first as the weather was quite nice and they have such a great flag system with regards to the staff taking your orders and they were very quick indeed. Once inside our food was delicious thank you to everyone we will be back.

What a great place for lunch, it was our first visit but it won't be our last. We were greeted by Laura, shown the social distancing measures in place, asked to sanitize our hands, were presented a tray with the menus on for us to help ourselves. After being shown to our table and drinks order taken they were presented to us to take off the tray ourselves, it was the same with our meals, absolutely no complaints with the way they are running things.

Really welcoming staff and spacious bar/restaurant as well as a huge outdoor area leading down to the canal. Very nicely appointed all round. The food was excellent as well as good value... spicy chicken wings starters the best I've ever had. I stayed overnight - very nice room again lots of space, super clean and nicely decorated, very comfortable.They've cracked social distancing without it being too over bearing so anyone feeling nervous about going out can easily consider The Kinderton.

Visited for a working lunch, what a great atmosphere and very comfortable. Felt very safe with how well they are adhering to the current guidelines, food was amazing!

Stepped off the canal thirsty for a few pints. Our eyes lock-ed onto The Kinderton Hotel. First off they’ve done amazingly well in getting the place ship shape for post lockdown... tiring regulations but they’ve done the job well. First pint tasted a bit dodgy and while Ian and crew may have accidentally been scraping the barrel, they sorted us out with a fresh round in fine spirit (beer)!. New barrel put on just for us and after that food and pints went down excellently. Great visit. Cheers.

Well this venue is superb from the moment you enter until the moment you leave.Staff are friendly and very welcoming with great knowledge.The Kinderton has a superb beer garden and kids are well catered for.Planning any sort of function contact the Kinderton all can be catered for.Food is amazing with good choice.You will not be disappointed with a trip to the Kinderton 5 star all round.

Very impressed by incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful room stylish, modern and new with good selection toiletries and tea/coffee. Had very tasty sharer snack as arrived later in evening and main meals of other diners looked great! Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely recommend, as good if not better standard than many 4 star hotels visited.

Attended on a sunday with children eat free great food and surroundings were great apart from a couple of moaning old "ladies" complaining about children, staff were very helpful and even offered us a discount for the sheer rudeness we recieved, would definitely attend again

I came today to have lunch with my university friend who I had not seen for a while. We enjoyed a very relaxing lunch with excellent service. Staff were very attentive and the food was very good.

Booked a table for 14 people to celebrate my mum's birthday. Despite a mix up with the booking, the staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome and a special shout out and thank you to Niamh who was a star. The Sunday carvery was excellent, generous portions and fresh potatoes, veg and trimmings frequently replenished. Great value for money too.

If you dont mind a lot of children screeching and running around then this is the place to go. We just had a main course and decided to leave due to the bedlam. It was the shortest time I have spent in a resaurant, less than 45 mins. Not a venue I would visit again.

Based on the good reviews we decided to book a table. The carvery was lovely and the waitress very attentive. We were sat next to the carvery and the tables were very close together along with children running around and screeching. We decided to leave after the main course. Not somewhere I would go again but ok for families.

I had a wonderful Sunday carvery. Roast pork with all the trimmings!!! They were full booked but squeezed me in as I was a walk in and flying solo. Great customer care. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend to anyone

We headed down to The Kinderton last night for tea and to watch the football that they advertised they were screening on social media. We didn't book but were quickly shown to an available table where our waiter was really welcoming and on the ball. We ordered drinks which came in a flash (even though the restaurant and bar was busy for a Wednesday night). A couple of minutes later we ordered, food took around 20 mins, I had the Asian Beef Salad which was lovely, with a side of Salt and Pepper Chips (also yum) whilst my boyfriend had the steak hanging kebab, which he loved and said was very filling. Great food had by both of us, we had two more drinks and then went and sat in the outside marquee where the manager kindly put the TV on for the football and the heaters which was a bonus for a cold January night. Thanks guys, we'll be back soon.

Had an overnight stay at the Kinderton Saturday 21st and although a party night was in full swing staff took time to make us feel welcome. An excellent evening meal was followed in the morning by a grand breakfast.

Can't fault the food, service, venue or organisation. There we 25 of us on a works Christmas Party, and nobody was disappointed. From the pre-meal entertainment to the end of the night, we all had a great time and were looked after well. Highly reccommended

Stayed at the refurbished Kinderton in Middlewich in December 2019. Despite the Christmas parties in the bar the room was quiet and really comfortable. Great food and really helpful staff. Ian and Linda, together with the guys behind the bar can't do enough for you. Will look forward to staying here again.
