We have visited many times, winter and summer as it is such a beautiful spot. We have always had good food and good service. I was dismayed today, to read some one star reviews. Occassionally, during busy times we have had a short wait. Which is understandable, because the food is freshly cooked to order. It is worth the wait! We did not complain or comment on social media. I'm sure proprietors do value relevant feedback. However, in my opinion, complaining that there wasn't a table available because they were occupied by other customers is laughable. It is also my opinion, that if people turn up minutes before the kitchen closes they ought not be surprised (nor complain) that they weren't able to be served. Staff need to finish on time and a kitchen has to be cleaned after service is finished. I only wish the peak view was open everyday because its worth a visit any day of the year.

Very disappointing service. I was told I couldn’t order food as the kitchen closes at 4:30, it was 4:32 and I had been in the queue to order for 5 minutes behind 2 other customers, who were served. There is also no signage displaying food serving times.

Busy, but we managed to get a table. Over the years we have been many times even before Gail took it over, but we haven’t been since Covid I was pleased to see that the syrup sponge is still on the menu, both my wife and I are diabetic but we always have the syrup sponge, forget the rest it is the best. The price is still reasonable even when you add the custard, which is charged for separately. Oh, I must mention the staff they are all young and hard working but still find time to smile.

Can't fault it really. The breakfast was quality and the people were nice. I rode 80 miles to get here. Okay so you pay a bit for the food but surely that's expected. I paid £14 for a large breakfast with a coffee but it kept me full for the rest of the day and then a nice ride down the snake pass.excellent and I highly recommend.

Lovely frendly tea room perched on the top of a hill with stunning views of the peak district. Very good range of meals on offer as well as a wide range of sandwiches, cakes, and light snacks.

We went here today for Lunch. The Food was nice, however the menu prices are miss-leading. The menu the Staff use is priced dearer than the White menu's that are on the Customer Tables outside. We waited ages for our food to arrive and had to ask for cutlery to eat our food with, lol. Furthermore we were shocked that we had to pay extra because we wanted custard on our apple pie ??

1 June. Very polite, friendly staff. We had sandwich/panini. Very good and then best ever carrot cake.

Great little cafe, very busy on the Sunday I visited with bikers, walkers and cyclists. Good selection of food and drink on offer. I will definitely be back.

I had the Sunday beef roast, which was absolutely top quality. Beautiful beef - and a good-sized portion of that - with fluffy roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, peas, carrots, and broccoli. My dining companion had the fishcakes, which he declared outstanding. He was very happy to have been able to choose the roasties as an accompaniment. We shared a lemon drizzle cake slice, which was hands-down the moistest I've ever had. Lovely coffee, too.

Good honest food at a reasonable price, staff very pleasant and lovely setting on a sunny day, well done.

Went in restaurant it was packed solid had to queue and the go out side it was pretty cool when coffee and hot chocolate came the coffee was black and watery couldn't drink it and the hot chocolate week what can we say. It was milk with just a spot of chocolate have had better in a greasy spoon feel ripped off and calling it unfair.

Incredible pork belly and scones!

Beautiful little cafe just outside Buxton on the Cat n Fiddle Road to Macclesfield. The food was lovely (we had the fish and chips). There is a huge selection of cakes if you just want coffee and cake (see pictures). I have also added three of the views out across the moors which are so beautiful. I would strongly recommend that you give this place a look in next time you’re passing.

I suffer a lot with anxiety and don’t go out much but the sun was shining and I forced myself out as I’d read about the tea rooms, I was quite nervous going in alone, the atmosphere was welcoming but what put me most at ease was the big beautiful smile and welcome from the young lady that served me, sadly I didn’t get her name but I’m sure if you visited you would recognise her instantly. I went on to have a roast salmon sandwich with a side of chips which I could not fault, delicious. So beautiful food, fantastic scenery and service from staff that, without knowing, can turn an ok day into a memorable one, thank you

We hadn't booked, but were delighted when we were told that there was a table available for a short stay - cakes and hot drinks. We ordered two lattes (one made with soya milk), a slice of carrot cake and a slice of Guinness cake. The cakes were freshly baked and delicious. The Guinness cake was particularly decadent! Friendly staff, quirky decor, and fabulous atmosphere. Spotlessly clean toilets.

Lovely location and amazing views 💕 it was a cold day,so didn't stay for long as needed too get out the clouds. Had a coffee, lady was polite. Loads of cakes on offer. Wished there was a covered outdoor area/conservatory for us dog owners and we would of stayed longer 💕 will be back however, just when it's warmer. Very unique old charming building 🥰

Really wanted to give them a zero star review, just wanted a quick cuppa before our walk but they said they were fully booked although there were tables free and not reserved, will not go here again

We were out for a drive stopped for Sunday lunch should of kept driving,we had rost beef,I think thats what it was,it was like leather the carrots were like nails not cooked brought the meat home for the fox 🦊 at least he will enjoy it.good luck who ever goes there

Great location, good parking, unreal views, sadly not dog friendly so had to take away & have our drinks in the car as it was snowing. Didn’t eat so can’t comment on the food.

So glad we were able to get in for Xmas lunch. This place never fails your expectations. The owner is lovely along with her staff. The food is all fresh & made to order but you still don't wait long even if they're busy. The scenery surrounding here is breathtaking no matter what season, we absolutely love the place!

Visited the Peak View Cafe today 11th Nov 23. The cafe was busy as usual a short wait for food but it was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient. I highly recommend a visit. Nice day and the ride across the Cat and Fiddle on a sunny and not too busy was great.

Amazing little find the best pot of tea English breakfast and the best homemade cakes worth a visit

A lovely coffee shop we stopped off at for lunch set amongst a lovely view. Soup, panini's, baked potatoes and an impressive selection of home baked cakes which we sadly had no room for so will just need to come back! Loved the wee salt and peppers, different for every table and the quirky selection of ornaments and teapots.

The all day breakfast was great! Ordered the big portion and wasn't disappointed! Staff are really friendly too! Can get busy over the weekend. There is seating outside but the weather was too cold to enjoy them.

Wow lovely place , on weekend afternoons usually very busy but always can get something Inside or outside or in your car in the carpark. Quality of food is fantastic and a full range of homemade cakes. A must try.

I mistakenly ordered the large vegan breakfast and missed out on fried eggs. As my chum was still eating when I finished, it made sense to order a large vegetarian breakfast - so they didn't feel awkward eating while I wait of course. When paying, the staff mistakenly charged me for just one of my breakfasts, or perhaps thought I'd ordered the second as a free replacement in protest - a grubby thing that some uncouth diners will do. I pointed out the error and paid for all three breakfasts, and each of them was perfect. The weather was also perfect and I'm glad I reserved a table! The place was overflowing on to the tables outside and beyond. Yet, at no point were we rushed. There were no glances from staff to hint at our departure. This was the third time I have eaten here, and each time has been uneventful - in a good way.

Peak View, what a beautiful place and setting. Service and food was just perfect, service was quick and friendly. Can highly recommend this eatery.

We stopped here for a brew and a slice of cake. They do cakes to takeaway too. The Guinness cake was absolutely delicious. They don't allow dogs in so we sat outside and the staff were very friendly. They brought us some dog treats. Great views of the high peak. Will definitely come back 😁

Lovely place to stop for a coffee or slice of lovely cake. Few of us in Japanese sports cars stopped for a couple of hours. Lovely place, lovely friendly staff and worth a stop. Only down fall was the last part to parking there is a dip. So have to be careful. But we was ok but can see this getting worse if not seen too.

Possibly the highest tea room in England (that's just my guess, I can't guarantee it). The staff are so friendly and the view is lovely. It gets very busy so if you know you're going I'd recommend booking your table in advance. The food is generous and well prepared. This is not a fine dining restaurant but for what you pay I think you'll struggle to find anything better. The selection of cakes is well worth popping in for even if you don't want a main course. I've been here many times over the years and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Service absolutely terrible ordered 2 bacon bap and crumpets only received crumpets waited said I missed your order waited 40 minute for bacon bap gave up paid for crumpets nerver go back avoid at all costs

Omg...awesomestruck. it's a beautiful place to have a meal. It's breathtaking atmosphere, I'm lost in there. Especially the cliffs and mountains around the place are mesmerizing. Food is good. But it's very busy. Carefull when taking a turn on that road, the vehicles are fast moving.

This being our second visit and wow it’s just perfect, loved the views and the food, simple but well done! Soup, baguette and some cake, lovely pot of tea, and the staff were spot on! We will definitely be back again! Lovely place for a drive out

Excellent as always . I had sea bass,my wife yellow fin sole,and granddaughter fish and chips. Delicious. Would have had cake afterwards but headed to Granellis for ice cream. Good service and value for money. They sell lovely knitted figures with Terry's orange with proceeds going to East Cheshire Hospice and Christies.

Great place to ride out too on the motorbike, set in the hills with great views. Even better when the sun is shining and the weather is warm!!

My car unfortunately broke down and I made it to the Peak View Tea Room's drive. The cafe was closed but the owner came to see if I was ok, after explaining what has happened he asked if I wanted a cup of tea and also brought me a cake. I was over the moon with their generosity and understanding and can't thank them enough as really nice people do exist!!

We had a vegetarian breakfast (which comes with toast - important point) and fish, chips and peas with bread and butter (that’s important, too). The toast arrived just as my partner was finishing her meal (even though we asked a few times) and the bread and butter arrived half way through my meal (I did ask and was told it’s being prepared-!!!!). The worse thing though is that my fish and chips was frozen peas(acceptable), frozen chips(acceptable but prefer fresh cut) and frozen fish (unacceptable). The fish was grey and tasted it. Will never go back and would advise others to consider other choices, which include the Cat & Fiddle just down the road.

Gail bent over backwards to provide a delicious brunch for 14 of us. The quality of her food is exceptional & great value.

The views are amazing from this little gem of a cafe. Staff are lovely and happy to help. The carrot cake is homemade and honestly the best carrot cake I have ever had! And I have had a lot 😛. Thank you, Mad cyclist Dave.

We attended the Tea Rooms at 1300 today having booked a table for Afternoon Tea for four people as a wedding anniversary treat. We had driven up from Manchester especially for this. When we arrived we were told there would be a predicted one hour delay before we would be served. Apparently there had been a 'rush of people' (surely something not unexpected on a warm, sunny June Sunday?). We had to settle for coffee and cake, all that was available in a reasonable time-frame. This completely spoiled what should have been a special day. No attempt was made to contact us to tell us there was a problem. Nothing was offered as a gesture in compensation for the disappointment and inconvenience caused. Surely if customers go to the trouble of booking a table they should be served in preference to people turning up at the door? A huge disappointment and a complete lack of 'customer care'.

It was a bit disappointing. We ordered the specialty afternoon tea. The sandwiches came on dry bread which we had to get swapped for fresh and the scones were both dry and soggy. It's put me off going again.

Great view in nice weather . Sadly £5.20 for one fishcake with a tiny salad garnish is a bit over priced.

What a gem of a place. Stunning views, clean, friendly service, varied cafe menu with brilliant selection of fresh baked cakes, sandwiches and meals. We sat inside & had fish & chips and scampi and chips. Both meals were perfectly cooked with good portions. Loved the quirky array of teapots around the room.

Treated ourselves to a post hike cake and brew. Coffee & Walnut cake was a hit, and a massive slice too, and the Cherry Crumble was delicious! Cappuccino and Hot choc were perfect, great service from everyone! Definitely recommended!

It was very warm and welcoming. Food... we didn't stay to eat. We were going to order fish and chips. But we saw them being served. The fish was very small and chips quite meagre. Sad really as the whole place and staff were very polite and accommodating. Food is very poor value. 😢

We were a group of friends walking around the area. We went in for a rest break. It was pouring outside. The ladies in the tearoom was obnoxious and rude to us. The lady who served us our drinks was not polite at all. It made us all uncomfortable about their attitude towards us. The cakes and drinks were good and the facility was clean.

Great place with amazing views. Limited parking and was busy mid week in April but additional seating outside. Menu choices are great, including toasted tea cakes, sandwiches, all-day breakfast, and main meals. This doesn't include the twelve different cakes they had on offer. All reasonably priced. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Loved the variety of teapots and salt and pepper pots! It's definitely worth a visit!

What a location. High up on the peaks, set back off the main road. Fairly tight car parking, it gets really busy. Popular with cyclists, walkers, and passers by. Good menu. Great friendly service. Indoor seating or outdoor if the sun happens to be shining.

Visited again for coffee and the best coffee and walnut cake. Lovely friendly staff and always lovely to relax and enjoy the sensational view. Cant wait to return again.

On and off I've been to this place all my life even if it has sometimes been years in between visits. I remember taking my mum here on Mothers Day a year or so before she passed away. She loved the day out and the food was so lovely for her. A day she never forgot. As it was a nice sunny day I took my gf here today and we had a coffee and a cake pit stop. Glad to see it's still as popular as ever even if the wind was somewhat chilly. A real gem in the High Peak and great value!

What a fantastic little find. Fantastic location, large choice on the menu from an all day breakfast (meat & vegetarian, small or large) to fish and chips. They also do a fantastic Sunday roast. Good price, good service, a fantastic meal. They also have the most amazing cakes. We will definitely drop by again.

We booked a table for 3 people for 11 am arrived waitress greeted us and showed us to our table Was bit early but was not a problem we all had the small breakfasts and drinks Drinks came food not long after food was very good Toilet very clean staff nice and friendly Will return

Beautiful views and lovely food! The staff are attentive and friendly, and the cakes are so good! I had a brownie to take away and I wish I'd bought more. We visited in the snow so we had a few snowball fights and lunch :)

Server was so rude. And the cafe is in need of an refresh. We where virtually pushed out of the door. Had I not been with a friend I would not have tolerated the poor service from the younger brunette lady.

Magnificent! But at weekends you will not get in unless you book in advance. Car park is small so do not visit in a huge SUV.

Absolutely beautiful place and lovely staff. Couldn't of asked for a better meal and atmosphere. They were fully booked and managed to squeeze us in. I would recommend to anyone. The wheelchair access was very good including a wheelchair friendly bathroom with a raised toilet 🚻

I've been meaning to try this place for a long time but for one reason or another it's not happened... Until now. And it was definitely worth the wait. Great food and lovely service. And what a view! We'll definitely be back.

Before I begin, I would say again, as I said to the Owner, I would visit this café again, especially if the weather is more favourable as the location of the café is just stunning, the menu offers food priced very reasonably and the portion sizes were generous.  The area outside offers parking and plenty of outside tables & seating with panoramic views of the distant hills. We arrived on a cold rainy day, running across the car park, in the pouring rain to enter the café through an outside lobby into an internal porch.  A welcome glow from the warm wood burning stove in the hearth – tick.  The team stood waiting to check us in on a list of reservations made for the day.  System allowed space for Walk ins. Organised – tick. Gluten Free options offered – 3 TICKS !! The Ham, Egg and chips appealed to both of us, so, as we were dining out, I chose the Ham and Cheese Panini with chips. The menu did not mention ham with Egg and Chips was “Served Regional style” as, if this had been the case we would have asked and learned that the Ham was served cold, on a cold plate & cold ham (three reasonably thick slices) took all the heat out of the poached egg (that was served on top of the cold ham)…………..  The chips were very lightly cooked and took on an only just “text book” light pale golden colour but would have been much more palatable with a little more deeply golden hue. I would offer that the menu listing of Ham, Eggs & Chips is amended to add the further description “Served Regional Style” as then the customers might know or ask and learn that the ham is served cold, on a cold plate (then topped with a warm egg that quickly becomes cold…) – Improvement Point ?

Wonderful views over the peaks except in the fog. However an excellent selection of food, friendly & helpful staff & happy atmosphere. We booked for 4 and our friends for lost trying to find it. Apparently sat nav sends elsewhere. Will recommend it to friends. Reasonably priced.
