Came to watch football, and have a roast dinner with family. It was delicious, tasted home made. Friendly service. We'll be back soon!

Unwelcoming, pub, use to be our local a while ago, Saturday Eve and only 8 people there, No menus around, doesn’t open until 2 every day - does this mean no food at all now? No festive decorations No lit fire Won’t be returning

Went for Sunday lunch with family based on the Trip Advisor reviews (thank you) and I am so happy we went. Received a lovely warm welcome and friendly and efficient service by a happy Team, food was yummy and a good plateful! and we had a nice chinwag with the Landlady when we reluctantly left. It was well worth the journey (about an hour from home) and we came away very happy. We will be back!

Food and service was fine, though cutlery looked quite unclean and my can of water was bent quite badly😐

Love this place. Go there sometimes with friends for lunch. Food vs. price, A5+ Family run business. They care about their customers. Clean and very respectful. Great mocha, which unfortunately is not so easy to come by these days. Plenty to choose from. Some good healthy choices which is great and also more importantly, taste good. Good size potions. Toilets available, with plenty of parking nearby.

A great Pub restaurant. A good friendly room Service was excellent. I took my two nephews and wives so it was a special evening. Four of us had the bree starter which was both filling in a good way and slightly different.. My eldest nephew had the whitebait., which as it disappeared so quickly said it all. He had the steak and ale pudding whilst we four all had the Fishermans basket. A wide range of differing types with crunchy chip. It was served in a large oblong basket. Seemingly all fashioned and yet somehow very modern. A great meal in a nice place

Two of us came here on spec on a dreary Wednesday lunchtime. At first sight we almost didn't go inside because it looked rather shabby but while sitting in the car park trying to decide whether to risk it, two people arrived and we asked if they'd ever eaten there which they assured us they had and they'd never had a bad meal. On going inside we received a warm welcome from the Landlord, ordered our food which turned out to be delicious (lamb chops for one of us and the salmon in lemon sauce for me). The chips, potatoes and vegetables were well cooked and the desserts (sticky toffee pudding/plum crumble) were very good too. Service was excellent. It's clearly a pub the locals value because lots of people arrived while we were there and were greeted as friends yet we didn't feel like outsiders at all. Yes, the decor is dated and the fencing outside a bit ramshackle but we couldn't fault anything about the food or service. I'd like to see the front door have a coat of paint because that was the most off-putting thing and made us hesitate as to what to expect inside. A lovely country pub with a great couple running it. The food was absolutely fabulous with a good choice on the menu. The beer was perfect. I have trouble walking so the side door had a perfect flat entry. I don't post very often but will when I find somewhere exceptional.

The food here is prepared with little care or attention and is exceptionally expensive for the swill that is served. Eat here at your own peril and if you literally have no other choice.

Sam the landlord was very welcoming and ensured I was looked after the entire time.. 100% recommend this pub for a social drink if you are in the area or passing through .

Sunday roast Great Sunday roast large portions and all served with a smile, however no apple juice available and no credit or debit cards accepted but I will return and recommend to others.

Just eaten here with friends for the 2 nd time. Had smash burgers loaded fries and popcorn prawns. All the food was so tasty and mouthwatering. Great prices as well. New owners have done a great job, updating the decor inside and out. well worth a visit. Dogs welcome and lovely garden area.

we booked a table and pre ordered our meal 22nd December for 8 people 2 of whom were visiting from Spain. (Sunday lunch @ over £28 ) the table was booked for 4 o'clock. we sat and waited and 2 people hadn't pre ordered so they ordered and their food arrived and we asked 10 mins later about our food and we're told they had forgotten and it wouldn't be long. 30 mins later at 5 o'clock our food arrived!!!! virtually cold!!!! fatty meat and hard roast potatoes, not happy!!! we complained and received a 25% reduction. the place was cold uninviting and grubby. definitely definitely not good.
