Found this place when I was visiting the area wow such a lovely pub and we had a great time food was amazing and the staff were very friendly we will be back

As a Yorkshireman, I appreciated excellent beer served through a sparkler giving a tasty and good looking pint. A relief after drinking flat warm pints in many pubs in the south.

Wonderful place to stay even just one night to chill and enjoy Lymington. We are on our way to Studland for the Easter weekend.

The worst pub in Lymington UK ! I wouldn't BOOK a room let alone eat there , not worthy of your " hard earning money "!

I’m generally a solo individual. Weirdly enough I felt more welcome here in this quaint, quiet, and homey pub than I have in a vast majority of other pubs I’ve been in. The staff were very personable and the chefs did an immaculate job with the food o received. Thank you, I’ll be coming again.

A great experience at The Angel & Blue Pig. I think it was once an old coaching Inn. I think they've updayed their online booking system which makes it so easy to book now. Parking is in the street outside - parking meters- or in one of the public carparks behind. If you are expecting glorious views of the New Forest you'd be disappointed as it's situated in a busy High Street. It has a seating area at the rear of the property. Service excellent as was the food. Good value for money. Well worth a visit.

They had a power cut so we're unable to try the food but the mocktail was lovely!!

We stayed here for one night also had dinner in the evening. We found the staff were very friendly and accommodating nothing was too much trouble. Atmosphere in the pub was lovely. The room in which we stayed in was clean and very comfortable with a quirky and rustic vibe. Pristine crisp cotton linen on a massive comfortable bed. Great time to check out too 11.00 enjoyed the leisurely pace. We will be back for sure. Lymington itself is such a beautiful spot to visit. Thankyou !!

The pub/restaurant is lovely, a traditional feel to it. We have eaten there many times before and always enjoyed the food. We had the lamb and the burger, both good. As we are locals we had a 30% off voucher come through the post, which we welcomed [you can get the same offer if you go on there website] We were served by Dee who looked after us and made a huge fuss over our dog Sky, bringing her dog biscuits and water.An enjoyable evening, we will be back.

This pub is great for a relaxed experience staff are very approachable and food was delicious can't wait to visit again with friends.

Stayed in a deluxe room, needs a little TLC , bed extremely comfortable.Thank you to ALL STAFF (sorry didn't get all names) Courtney extremely helpful, but everyone there were amazing and made our stay perfect. We will be back. Recently returned April 2025 OMG Thank you to Eddie (Manager) you are an outstanding member of this establishment. Couldn't do enough to make our stay THE BEST ! so so helpful,friendly. Couldn't of wished for more, made us feel the most important people ever. First time here, went in as we needed lunch and it was dog friendly and so glad we did. Staff were amazing and so friendly! The food was good but the staff are what would make us go back.

Food was excellent quality. Good sized meals. Staff were helpful and friendly. Only thing was there was a bit of a wait for the main courses to arrive but sometimes this is fine if you have had a starter as it can be nice to have a bit of a break in-between.

Stayed here for one night on a sunday. Paid £70 for the night which is pretty good value for a hotel of this standard. Service at check in was excellent with lots of information given. The room was good for the price paid. I would say most areas including the room are starting to look in need of a little fresh paint here and there and the shower was not greatest. Being a sunday the bar area in the evening was very quiet. Did not eat here so cannot comment on the food. Definitely worth considering if wanting to stay in Lymington though as long as the price is good.

Staff are extremely helpful and welcoming, especially Eddie. The food was brilliant, was very impressed. Would definitely return!

We stayed for three nights in a deluxe double room. The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. Good selection of refreshments and toiletries. Friendly and helpful staff. We also enjoyed playing games in the bar (but did not eat there, so cannot comment on that).

Enjoyed lovely food and drinks in this super pub. The staff were welcoming and interested in our experience and made a big fuss of our dog Scout. Special mention to Ella and Courtney for their exceptional service and care. We felt genuinely looked after by them. This is definitely worth visiting and we will be back when next in the new forest!

We booked a table for my mum’s 83rd birthday. I asked for a table in the bar area due to our small dog and a nice table if possible for my mum’s birthday. We were given a table near the fire which was lovely. The food was a bit of a wait but delicious. My mum asked for mint sauce to go with her lamb but unfortunately none was available. A little disappointing but not the end of the world. I asked for cranberry sauce as an alternative and that was supplied. Our waitress with the striking red hair was lovely. Overall a very positive experience.

We had a nice 1 night stay here. We didn't try the food but it looked good and the atmosphere around the bar was great. Our room was good for the price, it had a comfy bed and a large bath. The room decor did seem a little worn out though. Overall, would recommend!

Great location, rooms need better cleaning, especially the shower room

We stayed at the Angel and Blue Pig for the weekend for 3 nights for our anniversary, and our stay was lovely. We booked a Double Deluxe room, which was really cosy, and the bed was so comfortable I had the best night's sleep. Our room faced onto the High Street, so I thought it might be noisy, but other than the doves roosting on the roof and the refuse collection early one morning, it was really quiet. Not sure how old the building is, but due to its age, the corridors and floors are creaky, and the rooms have imperfections and wonky door frames, but this all adds to the quirky atmosphere. You can feel the history in the building. We booked a table for Sunday lunch, which was very good. My partner ordered the vegetarian option, but this had sold out, so he was offered vegetarian sausages instead, which was fine. It must be a popular option, as this was only 2.15pm. We would most certainly stay here again.

The service was excellent from Ella from Poland, the fish was big and nice, but the rest of the food was below standard and the wine was aweful— English Chardonnay! Our fault we should have ordered beer 🍺 !

This place is amazing. We booked this place as we were in the area, we both had a Sunday Roast, they were amazing, staff really nice, prompt and friendly. Best roast we have probably ever had! Cannot recommend this place enough, thank you!

Treated myself to a delicious lunch of fish and chips today and a pint of Boon Doggle brewed by Ringwood brewery. Service was excellent too.Definitely will be returning. Excellent service and beer.

What a lovely find! Cosy yet spacious pub and restaurant with rooms upstairs. Food was delicious and fairly priced. Drinks also good value. Staff were all really friendly especially Eddie the manager, top man! Our room was spacious and had everything we needed, was also lovely and warm on a cold night. Bed was comfortable, I had a great night's sleep. I would say not suitable for those with disabilities as it was stairs only to access the hotel rooms (I imagine due to the age of the building it's not possible to add a lift). Great sized private carpark out the back and if you stay on a Friday night definitely make use of it as there is a pop up market Saturday morning and your car eill be boxed in or towed! Overall excellent value for money, will definitely return and recommend!

We had a lovely meal at the Angel & Blue Pig. We were welcomed on arrival, seated quickly and were well looked after by our server (didn't catch his name but he was great). And the food did not disappoint! We shared a starter and dessert with a main each and were stuffed so the portion sizes were great and the food was delicious. I was grateful for a number of vegan or dairy free options. Would highly recommend.

What a hidden gem, popped in for a beer stayed and had dinner and was not disappointed, new lamb dish was amazing, we have booked for Sunday lunch and so looking forward to it 🙂

I would leave no stars for service. I went with my 92 year old Mum and tried to order on the QR code. Staff member was curt and very unhelpful.I can't review the food as we left and went elsewhere

My husband and me had lunch today and it was excellent, we had crispy coated cauliflower (absolutely yummy) and fishcakes for starters and sea bass for the main course. It was one of the best meals we’ve had for a long time and when Ella bought a chocolate brownie with a candle on it as a treat from for my birthday, it made our day, what a nice thing to do particularly as it’s the first time we’ve been to the pub but it definitely won’t be our last. Lovely pub with a comfortable atmosphere. A mix up with the food resulted in a vegetarian being given the meat option. This was sorted by the diners themselves, but should really have been resolved correctly by the staff.

Only visited for an evening meal, fantastic food and service, highly recommend this pub.

Stayed over, room was a bit tired, flakey paint on the radiator is an example, the window rattled loudly with the wind... but it was a windy evening. On the whole a nice stay buy just needs a little more love.

I had the pleasure at staying in the Angel & Blue Pig for one night. They gave me a spotless a very comfortable double room with clean sheets and towels. I didn’t eat but the atmosphere in the bar and dining room was very nice. I will definitely stay again.

When we arrived we were given a warm welcome and very helpful directions to the car park, as the hotel is on the High Street. Our room was at the front of the hotel, which was fine and not too noisy. The hotel is very old and we didn’t expect anything modern, a few creaky floorboards, the room was spacious, clean with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was adequate, it was lovely and warm with clean soft towels. There are many quirky features including a spiral staircase which leads into the pub and serves great beer along with good food. There is a good high street with lots of shops, cafes and restaurant’s (should you need anything). So much to do and see in and around Lymington and the New Forest.

A large busy pub and yet staff were on their game from the off. We’d booked lunch and were shown straight to our table. The howling storm outside made our table drafty and cold. Despite the near full dining space a table was found without any fuss . A wide range of food was available and as it was Sunday lunchtime we chose a roast. The food was ample and full of flavour. Staff were attentive; checked that our meal was up to scratch; topped up drinks; offered dessert(declined). Good quality pub grub in a very pleasant setting, with great service and excellent value for money

Excellent service, great food and my Husband was VERY happy you sell Hawkstone lager! As a group of 8 you might think meals might be delayed or come out at different times but everything came out together and was piping hot. My steak was cooked perfectly and the chips were spot on. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks and the wait staff were friendly and professional throughout.

Great food and fantastic staff who were so welcoming and helpful. Special shout out for Kyle and Ron behind the bar and Ella helping at breakfast. My room was comfortable and quiet. My only gripe was the lack of pressure in the mornings in the shower. Apart from that I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My family and I stopped here over the weekend for a Sunday roast. The food was outstanding and the service we received couldn’t be faulted. The pub is very cozy and dog friendly. We will definitely be back very soon

I've stayed at The Angel & Blue Pig twice now and had a lovely stay both times. There's always a warm welcome from staff and an easy sign-in. The room is lovely (Zacheriel) and it's an inviting pub to walk in to. I'll definitely stay again and will recommend it to anyone visiting!

Booked a room the old fashioned way by phone, spoke with Ella who was very helpful and friendly. We met her when we checked in, a definite credit to the business. We stayed for a Sunday. All the staff work long hours and are all very friendly.

A Very Disappointing Stay Arrival: Our arrival at The Angel and the Blue Pig was far from welcoming. A stale and unpleasant atmosphere permeated the lobby, and the staff's bickering amongst themselves created an uncomfortable first impression. The Room: Following a frustrating check-in where my wife was nearly knocked over by a swinging door which is located right next to the check in desk, I lugged our luggage up a narrow, hazardous staircase to our room. Upon entering, we were horrified by the state of cleanliness. Stained carpets, hair clumps in corners, and a grimy bathroom resembling a pub loo painted a picture of utter neglect. The pervasive pub food odour and constant noise further eroded any hope of relaxation on our babymoon. Dirty bed sheets, with a heavily stained bottom sheet, solidified our decision to leave immediately. Disgraceful Conditions: Within 20 minutes, I returned to reception, demanding a cancellation. Shockingly, the receptionist admitted the hotel was under new management with an inadequate cleaning staff. It was utterly unacceptable that they knowingly accepted paid reservations for rooms in such a deplorable state. Thankfully, a Solution: Fortunately, our reservation was cancelled, and we secured a stay at the fantastic Stanwell House in Lymington which was luxurious and comfortable, a far cry from the Angel and Blue Pig. Post-Stay Issues: The nightmare wasn't over. Despite the receptionist issuing a refund, they routed it back to Booking.com without informing us. This resulted in a frustrating three-hour phone ordeal with both Booking.com and the hotel to rectify the issue. Even a simple confirmation email with the correct hotel address proved too much for them, forcing Booking.com to process the refund regardless of the improper format. Local Insight: Conversations with Lymington locals confirmed our suspicions. The Angel and the Blue Pig enjoys a well-deserved reputation for poor service and inadequate standards. The photos on the website and booking.com do not reflect the actual state of the property. We strongly advise potential guests to avoid this establishment and seek accommodation elsewhere.

Visited twice during my recent short break. Had different options from the lunch/early evening menu. Service with a smile, friendly approachable staff and very good food. As a mature single lady eating alone, I felt quite comfortable and safe, very much appreciated. Recommended.

Called in here to see some friends, ordered my drink & asked for a dash of Angostura bitters which they had. Whilst the bar tender was dealing with my order, some manager type bloke popped up & said they couldn't give me Angostura bitters because they had no way to charge me for it !!! When I said that was preposterous, it wasn't a chargeble item & no one ever charges for it,, he said, well it's expensive & we can't charge you for it so you can't have it. In disbelief I said that I was utterly shocked & it was ridiculous & that I'd go down the road to Huddle which I did. Had a lovely drink in Huddle, no grief at all & suffice to say that I'll never set foot in the Angel again ! Totally unprofessional , awful experience.

Slightly stingy portion with one meal, but otherwise OK. The lowest tip of 15% on the credit card machine is a bit steep.

Truly enjoyed a Friday family dinner at the Angel and blue pig. The food was both well tasting, especially the Sea bass and the lamb shanks, as well as well priced. Easy booking online. Will return for sure.

Had a 30% off voucher through the door so decided to give this place a try. Arrived at 12.30 and there was only 1 other couple in the restaurant area. The waitress was pleasant and took our food orders promptly. As we waited the place started to fill up. We were astonished to wait 45 minutes for our food to arrive. There was no mention to us of a wait for food and given how empty it was when we arrived we didn't have any reason to think it would take so long for a hunters chicken and a halloumi kebab! The food was well presented and tasty, although the halloumi rather over cooked. It would've be nice to have been updated that there was a delay but sadly it was lacking.

We booked an overnight stay while visiting the area. We were greeted by lovely friendly staff happy to check us in. Room was on the top floor number 8. We love how quirky the old building was with its low doors, sloping floors and narrow halls. Room was lovely and cosy. Had all we needed for a night stay. We ate a meal in the pub that evening which was lovely, food fresh and tasty again all staff very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was hearty and delicious. Rivka was a delightful lady, not only did she help us to find the hotel’s parking, she checked us in that evening and then greeted us and served our breakfast the next morning. Would we stay here again … yes definitely!!

Very expensive for a glass of wine

Went here for Sunday roast choice of turkey, pork, beef or three roasts, very nice and very filling non of us could face a dessert. Nice selection of beers, Dog friendly allowed in half of the resteraunt area. Staff are very good and friendly. We went on the night so parking in the street is easy and free after 6pm.

Staying for two nights just outside Lymington, we chose this place for a special birthday meal this evening. So glad we did. Such an inviting welcome from the lady just inside the door, who quickly showed us to a table, was very attentive, as were all the staff. We also found the restaurant area to have a really lovely ambience. The steak and ale pie, mash, veg and gravy was so tasty, as was my partner’s lamb shank, with mash and veg. Great dessert of cheesecake, and coffee too. Good value for money. Would highly recommend.

The pub was very cosy and the service and food were excellent. However the accommodation was extremely poor. Narrow winding stairwells, with no indication of this given before arrival! Leaking roofs, sodden smelly carpets, broken windows, scruffy corridors. It was a very disappointing stay for our special anniversary. I would recommend the pub, but definitely not the accommodation!

Second time visiting and I just had to write a review! The food on both occasions was excellent - the first time there were five of us celebrating a birthday and last night just myself and a friend. Everyone loved everything they had at the birthday meal. All the food piping hot and everything freshly prepared - delicious. Secondly the staff are amazing here - super friendly and upbeat, courteous and attentive without being overbearing and also very knowledgeable about the wines and the food. Such a pleasure to be welcomed and served by wonderful happy staff. Special thanks to (I think it was Rivka - Rebecca, sorry didn’t quite catch the name properly) who served us our food and the guys behind the bar (didn’t get your names!) We will deffo be back - don’t change a thing!
