The Harrow in Tandridge

We have had a very yummy Sunday lunch, our waitress Natasha was brilliant, tended to us and was very friendly and checked on us. As always we recommend the Harrow and Natasha

Great Sunday lunch for 2 families of 4 with young children. Food was good, service was exceptional. We were a demanding group (4 young children and a gluten-free adult) but nothing was too much trouble for Natasha, who showed a great sense of humour and limitless patience. Thank you!

Booked online. Walked into the pub. Bar staff greeted me with "sorry we're fully booked". After I said we'd pre booked I was directed to the restaurant staff. I introduced myself to staff and was told to "go pick a table". Opened a tab at the bar, overheard a conversation between staff about hot drinks not being available because there were no clean cups left. Ordered our food, wasn't table service so did this at the bar. Waited about 45 mins for our food but didn't really mind as was enjoying the company. When our food arrived. My rare steak was more medium in my opinion (subjective) it was also warm, not hot but saved by the temperature of the sauce. My chips and tomatoes, however, we're cold. My wife's skewer was also warm, not hot but her chips were warm and not as cold as mine. I went to the bar and complained about my cold chips. Received sincere apologies and was promised fresh chips. The chips didn't arrive and I ate the steak before it too got cold. I went to the bar to say "don't bother with the chips" and got a bemused "didn't the new chips come out?", "no, unfortunately", "sorry about that, I can give you free desserts" My wife and I decided we'd rather leave than wait for a dessert. I went back to the bar and paid in full before leaving. In summary The bar staff were amicable but were obviously struggling to cope with the amount of bookings even though there were empty tables. The meat was nice, although not cooked as ordered. I feel for the chef. His food was obviously left on the pass. I'd rather not take a freebie at the expense of leaving an honest review and there's plenty of other dining options in the area so I won't be returning.

I booked on day as was out walking with dog and thought it would be nice to pop in for something to eat….arrived to be told by girl on bar sorry we are fully booked I said no we have booked she sent me to side of bar where manager said oh yes just find a table ! So bit confusing as choice of 3 tables in the dog friendly area….waited 45 mins for food which wouldn’t have really been a problem but some of it was cold ….i had the lamb skewer with chips and husband had the fillet steak with chips both our portions of chips where cold , lamb was cold we advise staff who said they would redo chips, no mention of lamb, they never came so we spoke to staff again they offered us a free pudding but we didn’t have it as we had to leave ….so disappointing as the steak and the Lamb where really tasty even just warm and presented well, so chef is doing a fab job however I think it sat on the pass for too long such a shame we live locally but doubt we will come again for food as they still charged us full price £75 for two people main course only so disappointing would of been happy to pay if food was hot …. Not impressed 😳

Very pleased with the food and service , had the skewers and pudding ,very good portion the prawns were lovely . Claire was especially very pleasant and gave good service.

My time at the Harrow Inn was exceptional! I had dinner there for a special occasion, the lamb (pictured) was absolutely unreal and a highlight of the evening! Cooked exactly as I had requested, with a rich gravy, and a gratin dauphinois that added a lovely creamy contrast to the dish. My pints were also poured very nicely, and the whole meal was reasonably priced. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, with a warming decor, tying the experience together for a cosy atmosphere! As for the facilities, no complaints there; bathrooms were very clean, plenty of space in the car park, and the WiFi worked without a hitch. Overall, I will definitely be back next time that I'm in the area! And may I suggest you do the same!!

Had an excellent Sunday Lunch, went for the 'Sunday Trio': Sirloin of beef, pork belly & crackling and turkey breast & stuffing, served with ruffled garlic & herb roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, thyme-roasted carrots, glazed parsnips, broccoli and as much gravy as you like. A special thank you to our waitress Caitlin, excellent service.

A very nice meal and a pleasant atmosphere venue. With particularly helpful and friendly service from Chloe - took great care of us. Will be visiting again.

Went to The Harrow with my friend and our teenagers. Had a lovely meal and drinks. Chloe our waitress was very friendly, knew all about the menu (what was available etc) and recommended rhe sticky toffee pudding which was amazing! Thank you for a lovely evening.

Basically, it's very overpriced less than average food Not much on the menu available !! Disappointing

I'm sure the food is excellent. The automated booking on the website allowed me to book for my family and confirmed. When we arrived I was told the kitchen was closed and I had to show the lady the booking screenshot before she treated me like I hadn't made it up. She repeated the kitchen is closed. A waste of journey and time, something I wouldn't have expected from The Harrow. The Whyteleafe Bar and Grill was an excellent alternative and saved our Sunday evening meal!

We enjoyed our dinner at the Harrow very much. Service from Caitlin was excellent and the Moroccan chicken skewer was very tasty as was the sea bass. It’s been a while since we ate there but we will be back

Sadly, they had one beer on, Doombar with Jaipur as the bottle option. They said they're not an ale pub, don't be fooled by the freehouse sign. At over £6 a pint, I won't be back.

Had a delicious lunch at the Harrow today - excellent chicken kebab & burger - but not standard pub grub- absolutely delicious. Second visit and we will be back.. great service from Chloe

Food was 'OK'. Side salad didn't show up with one of the mains, but that was fine. But the service was terrible. We were only a group of 5, yet it took almost 3 hours to be served main courses and desserts, and the place wasn't even particularly busy. And I have to say, not the cleanest. For the entire time we were there the table next to us had dirty plates on. The only reason we weren't sat eating our desserts with our mains plates on the table was that I loaded two trays and took them inside! Surely it's basic; when you bring food out to customers, you don't go back in empty handed. Can't see us returning to be honest. 3 stars is generous.

Still a bit up and down at the Harrow, we've had fabulous food & terrible, and everything in between! Staff are nice on the whole, although some agency staff in the past have been questionable. Lovely spot for country pursuits, though, and a great outside space, so it's worth taking a punt.

Lovely country pub with very good food. Ordered x3 triple meat roast dinners and a crab cake. Quality of the food was fantastic. Ordered x3 desserts to take away too. Very dog friendly, dogs are allowed in a part of the indoor restaurant area and outdoors also. Ample parking in private car park. Highly recommend

Went for Father day with Dad. Didn’t like the assigned table so asked to changed which was no problem with your lovely waitress. Very great service, asked for a 2nd drink it just appeared so fast. The food was amazing too. Will be going back to try more if the menu.

Celebrated my partner’s 30th birthday here, there was about 12 of us and our server,Natalie, was absolutely amazing. It’s not easy catering for a large group, with starters, mains, desserts, drinks and she was phenomenal. Really grateful we had her looking after us as she made the whole experience so easy. Thank you !

Everything, besides the wait here and there was superb. The waitress (Caitlin) apologised in advance because of the lack of staff. We expected her to come across to us and other customers as though she was rushing or pushy, but she was the complete opposite, calm, composed and collected. She was very polite and quite humourous, almost as if we were the only customers she was serving.

Nice pub on the border of Warlingham. Friendly, welcoming staff and dog friendly. Pleasant decor, reasonable selection of food and drink, though we did have to wait over 30 minutes for some 'light nibbles', despite the place being almost empty. Maybe they were short staffed in the kitchen? I'd happily return and try a full meal. Returned and had two meals. Disappointed. Prices are higher than normal, like this is a gastropub that justifies the high priced food, but it clearly is not. We were advised 20 minutes wait for 2 mains with maybe 10 people in total ordering food. 35 minutes later the food arrived; small portions, and the Penang Curry was cold - below body temperature. We sent it back and a replacement came 10 minutes later, by which time I'd eaten my meagre haddock fish cakes, boring boiled potatoes and some broccoli stems. So, nice pub, service poor, food very expensive, slow and below average. Could do so much better.

Had an amazing Sunday roast here. The service was friendly and the food was great quality and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend. We keep returning and the food is exemplary every single time. They perfect the roast dinner each visit and their fish and chips are delicious.

Overall a good experience. Comprehensive menu choice for all. Service was a bit slow as there seemed to be only 2 staff, who absolutely did their best but it was a lot of tables for two people. Food is very good "pub grub"

Our party of four went on the 2nd May. My wife and I ordered the pie of the day(steak and wine) , the accompaniments were good but unfortunately the pie had only two pieces of meat which were very fatty. We were surprised as previously we had an excellent Sunday roast there. Considering the prices this is certainly not value for money as it was essentially an empty pie!

Sun shining summer has arrived at last. Every one was out. The place was packed. The staff took it all in their stride. The food came ot just as yummy even if it was a bit slower than usual. Every one got there drinks. Cheers! All was good.

Went for a Sunday roast and ordered the trio , pork turkey and beef. It arrived very quickly and was a nice meal overall .
