Lovely pub - the service is excellent, attentive and kind, the food is delicious and the pub is well appointed in terms of Godstone.

Accommodated us in the bar as restaurant full and we had turned up on the off-chance of getting a table. Staff very pleasant and helpful - gave us extra gravy to take away as it is amazing! Huge Yorkshire Puddings!

This restaurant is great for any occasion - the food is excellent as was the service 😀

Just want to post this while I'm still emotional after having a walk around Godstone and the farm. I noticed the bar area is still a congested mess but I wanted to sit in the restaurant and I got seated straight away. Found it a little too hot in the conservatory area so went outside and had my pineapple soda with cheese doughnuts. Intensely fruity tropical drink, nice crispy snacks, very cute young local trainee who served me. (I didn't ask your name, you did a great job!)

We eat here regularly and are never disappointed in the food. The service can be slow at times, but the food is always worth the wait..

We’ve visited here twice recently. The first time was for a midweek lunch where the table service was a little slow. We had to wait longer than we’d have liked to order and pay the bill. We had lamb rump and pork belly, both were a decent portion size and very tasty. The pavlova and chocolate Bombe for dessert were very decadent! The second time, we visited mid afternoon on a Monday so it was a lot quieter. We ordered at the bar and the lady was very friendly and polite. Service was nice and prompt which was appreciated as we had a young baby with us who was quickly getting fussy! Once again, the food was very tasty. We opted for the lunch deal and had squid and pate for starters then fish and chips for main. The fish was a good size and the batter was crispy and light. We’ve been to their sister pub The Spring Tavern in Ewell for their Sunday roasts many times, so we look forward to coming to the Bell Inn in the future for one!

We all had a Sunday Roast and it was very nice. Meat cooked very well. Only small comment I would make is the Yorkshire was a little too big and lost the taste a bit and the cheese board desert needed a little more cheese. However this would not put me off coming again as food was extremely good

Food was underwhelming and expensive. The dining room was a mess, food all over the floor, drinks split on empty tables and left their the whole time we were there. Staff just chatting to eachother. Do not recommend

A lovely pub/gastropub we stumbled across on our walk. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive but without too much fuss. Food was top tier - we had the chicken and duo beef roast; superb! Highly recommend

We booked a table for 4 adults and a baby on Easter Sunday for lunch after we had visited Godstone Farm. There is a good-sized free carpark with a couple of spaces that also have a charging facility for electric cars. The pub is very clean and tastefully decorated. It also has a large beer garden with lots of tables. We sat inside the conservatory area. We got drinks at the table very quickly and then ordered our meals. My sister totally forgot to order anything for their 1 year old until about 30 minutes after we had ordered the 4 meals for the rest of us. But despite this, her dinner arrived only minutes after ours did. The portions were great, and all the food was lovely and fresh. We will definitely be back. Thanks for looking after us all so well, especially as a baby that will remain nameless. Decided that a couple of menus would look much better ripped to bits and eaten [if we weren't looking]

The food was fantastic, a great selection on the menu, from burgers to steaks and linguine to pizza. Two ales on pump which were both very good too. Child friendly, a high chair was provided for our meal with plenty of space for us all to sit. We will definitely be back - thank you

Had a great dining experience here last weekend, the team were so lovely, it had just rained on the way in so our server, Neil, had kindly sat us at the radiator to dry off. Our food looked and tasted great and the venue itself was lovely. Will deffo pop back in if we’re in the area!

Vegetarian nut roast was delicious

We used to love this pub/restaurant but I have revised my review of four years ago because we went there last night. All four of us were very disappointed that many of the vegan options have now been removed. Only one vegan starter, only one dessert. The vegan curry gone. The delicious chocolate billionaire bar gone! Crazy! The food that we did order was ok but we will not be returning. Our waitress Jasmine was lovely and concerned that we did not have the dining experience that we expected.

Went for lunch on a Friday - very strong smell of fish in the restaurant - it was obviously a popular dish on the set menu - had to wash my sweater the next day as the smell of fish was totally absorbed into it - never experienced that before and I can't have been the only customer to have that happen to them. The tap water was quite chlorinated so obviously not filtered. I won't be rushing back...........but it seems to be popular - decor was fine.

Took my Mum here for their Mothers Day 3 course special. We were warmly greeted by the maitre-de, and smoothly taken to our reserved table. Drinks and food orders were taken quickly but without feeling hurried. The food was fantastic. We had the scallops (outstanding), followed by roast beef and the pork belly (I had the pork but thought the beef looked even better). For desert we both had the berry pavlova which was decedent and very sweet. The service was impeccable and food really well presented, decent sized portions and very tasty. 9.5/10. Highly recommended and I felt worth the money and gave generous tip.

Sunday roasts are fantastic. Just enough food, not so much that you’re full to bursting. Only slight issue was I found my beef slightly tough but this may be because we couldn’t get a table until a little later in the day (14:45) and the beef had been cooked some time before. The table next to us that came in around 15:15 ordered the same and their beef was nice and pink. Will definitely go back again and give it another try. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good roast at a reasonable price.

We were a party of 10, 5 adults and 5 young children. The menu was broad enough to suit all, even picky children, and you were able to adapt menu items. Food was tasty and plentiful - most importantly the children were happy!! Thanks.

The ambience was nice. The place was clean and fresh. The soup was excellent, although the knob end of a piece of bread is hardly classed as a slice and needed another slice and there was no butter served with the bread. A soup spoon rather than a desert spoon should have been served with the soup. The chicken burger was tasty but the 2 chunks of pickled cucumber was somewhat minimal! I ordered a side salad,which was not a side salad it was garnish, it was ridiculous to class less than 1 handful of leaves as a side salad, it was ostensibly garnish!

The quality of the meals is excellent. Has some gluten free options but misses some gluten free basics, eg bread.

The roast dinner is perfect in every way. One of the best pub roasts we have had. It was so good, we booked to go again the following month. The staff are amazing and couldn't do more to help you, especially if you have an allergy (it's a nut free kitchen). Absolutely recommended.

Neil, who served us was so incredibly polite, helpful, approachable and just so unusually pleasant when of late nearly all pub lunches we have had in other pubs left us feeling like we would not bother to go back. Most enjoyable lunch, lovely decor and nice atmosphere (apart from the two screaming children on the table next to us, whose parents did not ask them to behave).

Staff are friendly and ambiance is relaxed and food is adequate, but nothing more. My hummus and roasted vegetable ciabatta consisted of a few roasted vegetables and the thinnest scraping of hummus possible and at over £12.00 was pretty extortionate -as I say, adequate, nothing more.

Here for a wake but the staff were attentive and the buffet food was of good quality. The upstairs function room is a good asset for the pub. Would like to come back again under different circumstances to try the restaurant.

What a pleasant surprise. Meet up with friends on a fairly regular basis in Godstone, as it’s halfway point having moved. Have ‘ avoided’ this pub as the outside is a little shabby, big mistake on our part! Inside is warm and welcoming, food lovely, staff friendly despite being rushed off their feet ( I think due to a wake, at ‘ the other pub ‘ which was absolutely packed out) Will most definitely return. Lovely big garden at the rear too and a conservatory 👌🏻👍🏻

Had a wonderful lunch with friends. It was our first visit to this very nice charming pub restaurant. The food was excellent. Good varied menu to choose from. Easy parking with lots of spaces. We like Godstone and visit occasionally, for The Bell and Oka down the road. Last Friday Lunchtime, we took a chance on getting a table as the amount of cars there showed very busy. Our good luck was to be shown to a table in the Conservatory and settling in we thoroughly enjoyed Sea Bass and a Steak and Malbec pie, both really good and great coffee. It's worth the journey from East Kent for the Bell alone!

Great experience. Lovely warm place to enjoy your evening. Had a lovely team member called Pete, who answered all questions came up with alternatives and set a kind and humorous mood. Which made our evening much better.

Cramped table and slow slow service. 1 hr before our food arrived. It was nice when it came but we were agitated and rushed then.

Had a super lunch at the Bell on a freezing day in January and the welcome and warmth of atmosphere could not be faulted. Delicious soup and main course.

It was my birthday and I have to say the choice was extensive we all managed to get what we wanted. The service was excellent and the staff helpful the food arrived hot and without having to long to wait.

A lovely meal served by attentive staff. Ample parking and a nice selection of tables of varying sizes. Menu interesting but not too broad. Quality of our food choices was excellent.

We had a lovely lunch on a very bleak January Monday. Our waiter was so friendly, welcoming, polite and professional. We only live a five minutes drive away and therefore The Bell is an easy place for us to visit. We most certainly will return.

Really disappointed this time. Poor service - had to flag them down to ask for menus/order/pay. Both understaffed and staff not trained well.

I have eaten at the Bell Inn Godstone many times and never been disappointed.

We booked a celebration family New Years day lunch . Staff were openly suffering the celebrations of night before. Dishes of the set menu missing even though the New Year’s Eve covers were at a low. . We had a small child and toddler with us and requested their meals arrived the same time as our starters , which they did not and took nearly an hour. Our three main meals did not arrive for nearly 2 hours and not until we had to complain. The unacceptable delay was challenging to the children and unfair to surrounding customers. We eventually gave up without completing the days new year set menu. Considering, the current cost of living, going out now is a real treat. After the considerable challenges in the hospitality industry to survive, The Bell in Godstone was a poor and disappointing experience and a bad example of what hospitality industry is capable of delivering to paying customers and spoilt our day.

It was extremely disappointing. We came for New Year’s Day and ate from the New Year’s Day menu. The waitress was friendly however openly told us she was hungover and then went on to tell us that the chefs were also all hungover. This wouldn’t have bothered us but we were there 2.5 hours and only got starter and main in this time. With a 50 minute wait for starters and never got offered drinks from arrival. We had a 2 year old and 4 year old with us and had to leave before pudding as they were too fed up by this point. There was a very apologetic waiter at the end but unfortunately by this time it was too late. We have been coming for years and now doubt we will return.
