We came for Sunday lunch with a large group, including one guest with mobility issues, and despite the fact that we were somewhat late for our booking, the staff were fantastic to us. The food was delicious and a special shout-out to our server, Gillian, who was extremely friendly and helpful! Will be returning to this pub again.

First time visit 25/01 to the Old Bell Oxted eating from the Burns Night Menu. The pub is easy to find and plenty of parking available. Really pleased with the food, came out quick and hot, 4 courses for £28 was a bargain! Unfortunately for a Saturday night only a few of us in the pub, hence scoring 3/5 for atmosphere. But great welcome and service from Gillian. We had a lovely meal and would visit again.

A Superb Evening at The Old Bell for Burns Night, we had Gillian as our waitress and she was very friendly, attentive and professional. Tonight at The Old Bell was nothing short of exceptional. The atmosphere was warm and festive, a perfect setting to celebrate Burns Night. The menu was a delight, showcasing thoughtful and delicious dishes that truly honored the occasion. To start, I had the crab and avocado, which was a refreshing and beautifully balanced dish. The sweetness of the crab paired wonderfully with the creamy avocado – light yet indulgent. For the main course, I couldn’t resist the classic haggis, neeps, and tatties. It was everything you’d hope for on Burns Night – rich, flavorful, and comforting, with each element cooked to perfection. To finish, I chose the Balmoral chicken, which was simply divine. The chicken was tender and flavorful, complemented perfectly by the whisky sauce. Every bite was a celebration of Scottish tradition. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the overall ambiance was lively yet cozy, creating a memorable experience. The Old Bell truly excelled in capturing the spirit of Burns Night. I’ll definitely be back!

Burns Night feast without burning the cash. Booked a very reasonably priced Burns night supper for Friday night. We arrived to plenty of parking and a very warm welcome. We were led to our table by Gillian who looked after us really well all evening. The menu was select and restricted but it's Burns Night, you want the full experience and don't be fooled by restrictions - you still get a good choice of 4 or 5 options per course plus the traditional Haggis, Neaps and Tatties. We couldn't have been looked after any better, having been served our drinks we ordered. Food came very quickly but was steaming hot, beautifully presented and very tasty. Having never eaten pheasant I was nervous about my choice but it was really delicious and the pear salad & hot honey were great. After the main event which was beautifully cooked and portioned perfectly to have your taste of Haggis, Neeps & tatties but without filling you up. After a short wait the mains were served my friend had Balmoral chicken than was a generous portion and really moist and my venison haunch was a triumph. It could not have been cooked any better at a Michelin restaurant let alone a cosy pub in Old Oxted. Gillian looked after us really well she was professional and friendly, very attentive and not intuitive at all. The food was excellent quality, well cooked and we were pleased with the paired malt and soft drink creation I had. Plates were cleared quickly and we were offered a welcome and great chance to rest and relax between mains and sweets. The restaurant was not too busy it was not empty either. The danger with special dates live Burns, Valentines, Mother's /father's days is the venue crams as many in as possible at the detriment of the enjoyment by the customer - that was nit the case here at all. We were able to relax, chat, enjoy our food but with a gentle hubbub around us. The sweets we had were both Panna Cottas and they were so smooth and creamy without the ice cream very close to the ones I had in Rome. All in we had a really enjoyable night out for £80, including drinks, 4 courses and a decent tip. I cannot say how good our visit was without sounding like I'm gushing but it really was an excellent meal, great service and from a little pub. Will be looking forward to going back again soon. Not reservation in recommending and thank you for giving us a great night out.

Brilliant service from Jacob. He looks after his customersvand ensures ge pills a perfect pint every time. Takes an interest in his customers day and puts up with customers rubbish.

I came here for a business meal for a Christmas do and we had excellent service the whole of the evening from our lovely waitress Klaudia. Amazing food, great choice of drinks and impeccable service. Highly recommend.

Visited on Sunday for lunch, hadn't booked but received a warm welcome. Had a great time food was very good our party of 4 all enjoyed our meal. Lovely atmosphere and great service from Gillian. No rush will be going back.

Hi Guys Decided to go here for lunch today. 4/1/25 At 2pm with my wife. I was really impressed with the inside of the pub. It was very traditional and lovely clean and warm inside. Service was absolutely fantastic the lady that served us was so friendly and attentive. Food was lovely however I had a mixed grill and asked for my steak to be cooked rare it came well done. The Manager offered me another steak or a pudding but I wasn’t too fussed. It was just to mention rather to cause a fuss. I didn’t eat it however. Plenty of parking however you must enter your registration upon arrival. You can also use Tesco club cards points here on food which is a good bonus to come here. Will definitely visit again. 4 stars on food due to my steak not cooked to my liking and choice. Highly recommend

Lovely attentive waiters and good food, what more can you want

We booked a table for 4 at 12.15 today and arrived at 12 and the door was locked so we waited 10 minutes in the cold then knocked on the door and the grumpy manager came to the door and said he wasn’t opening until his first booking arrived and we said we are your first booking and he said it isn’t 12.15 yet and he shut the door on us. We’ve visited many many times and sometimes the service and food are great but sometimes it could be awful depending on who was working but we always went back as it was local for meeting friends but now never again! Their website says they are open from 9am and they serve breakfast too.

Lovely festive feel to the restaurant. Friendly, efficient staff. Gillian was our waitress and was great . Food was presented well and plenty of it. Everything in the Turkey roast was cooked to amazing perfection .

Met friends for lunch. I selected a mini beef and Stilton wellington for a starter. Very pleasant but couldn’t really taste any Stilton. Had turkey main which was nice although the veg was over cooked and rather dried up. The pub itself is warm and welcoming and the staff were very helpful

Such a shame, but the new manager is the rudest man we had ever met. Decided to make up a new policy that children need to remain seated at all times, apparently because a group of elderly women on the other side of the dining room had decided children should not even be seen. To note: my child was walking around an empty area of the restaurant with me by his side, no where near the women's table, after he had finished eating and we were waiting for the rest of our party to finish, he wasn't being noisy or disruptive. If you have children just avoid you won't be welcome. Shame as we have had such excellent service in the past from Gillian so this really confused us as we have always felt so welcome normally.

Delicious food, great service, very comfortable ambiance and nice table linen.

6 adults and 2 toddlers. All were looked after brilliantly by Gillian. She is a fantastic advert for the service you get there. £250 bill was well worth it but unfortunately my budget didn't allow me to leave a tip. I will come again for a more modest meal and make that right. 😉

It was quite busy so probably better book your Sunday lunch. Server Gillian was quite helpful and friendly. Food was good and portions were spot on; not too much not too little. The additional gravy boat was very welcomed.

Lovely pub, but need more usual tables and chairs in the bar, as most are tall tables and benches.

This occasion was a family gathering, so people travelled from all parts of the SEast. Our server was Gillian who, as always was polite, friendly and welcoming. However, when the meal finished the Manager was very off hand and rushed us out, because she was having a break and wanted to eat!! The Bell needs to train someone else to operate the till, so that the manager can have her break and customers are not rushed and hurried out! Up till then it was a very pleasant experience, but next time, we will find some where else for our gathering! There is plenty to choose from in Oxted. (Sorry Gillian)

Can honestly say this was the best Sunday roast we have had in a very long time. Beautifully cooked and lots of it. Everything on the plate tasted excellent.

I have just had my birthday meal here today and the roast dinner was amazing. Gillian who served us was very welcoming and a lovely waitress. The atmosphere was very lovely for a Sunday lunch. Will definitely return and highly recommend

Took my 90 yr old Mum out for dinner as she was staying with us for a few days. Food was lovely and all the staff were very attentive. Gillian, our waitress, went out of her way to make my Mum feel welcome.

Lovely pub and nice lunch here with our kids. Service was friendly and really nice with our little ones but got very busy near the end so a bit harder to pay when we were ready to head off. We arrived earlier as website says 9:30 opening on Friday but I think it didn’t actually open until 12 so it would be good to update hours! :)

This quaint pub, with beams, is worth visiting. We had an excellent lunch with good beer and the staff are so welcoming.

Beautiful pub built in 1500s. Welcoming staff. We missed the breakfast brunch and were too early for lunch but they got us in anyway. Wonderful waitress. Definitely need to stop in!

We booked for lunch today , we had a lovely starter of garlic mushroom on sourdough bread. This itself was very nice, we then ordered the roast beef , quite possibly the worst roast dinner wev ever had in a pub, the beef was extremely thick cut , as thick as a steak! and very fatty and tastless the description of this roast did not match up to what we recieved, the potatoes were tastless but apparently cooked in goose fat and rosemary , the yorkshire pudding was like cutting into dust , completely empty! The veg was flavourless , so basically all we ate was the potato's even though they were devoid of any flavour , and the stuffing which was ok ish. Being typically British and not wanting to upset or make the waiting staff feel awkward when asked if everything was OK with our meal we said yeh its fine thank you. There was also no time between the starter and the main , we needed a little break, the staff however were very friendly and attentive but they need to up their game on the roast beef , can't comment on other meals offered but not a good food experience for us, hence we won't be returning any time soon .

Good, friendly pub with decent food. Much larger than it looks, with a decent sized car park for a hungry traveller to get to off the tedium of the M25! Oxted is worth a look too.

A group of us had a very nice late Saturday lunch in April, after a longish walk. We were really impressed by the friendliness and how the pub accommodated in a relaxed manner our shifting group numbers between the date of booking and our arrival and also the fact that we were rather later than we expected. Gillian was really helpful, and she and the chef were very assiduous in making sure my coeliac intolerance was safely catered for. We had a lovely time. Thanks you all - very much recommended.

5 of us were booked for a lunchtime meal. There was a food range of options and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The only slight issue was the undercooked squash in the vegatable meal, inside was fine outside to hard to eat. Drinks were good and the service excellent. Gillian was helpful and provided excellent service. Car parking is good, and we will come again

6 of us went for dinner which we really enjoyed. Food was very nice and portions were good size (pie was huge) and we all left full. Service was quick and friendly from Gillian. Only 1 negative was kids mains (Mac n cheese) were very small although dessert was great.

I had booked online and specified that one of the party was gluten free and vegetarian. Our lovely server, Gillian, brought a tablet to our table to provide the necessary information on the allergens in the menu, and the menu options that would be appropriate. She was attentive and professional throughout, patient and friendly. The food and drinks were enjoyed by the whole group. There is a good range of gluten-free and vegetarian options, including an extensive dessert list beyond ice creams and sorbets.

A last minute detour brought us to the Old Bell on a very rainy bank holiday Monday! The bar itself was very quiet but restaurant seemed busy. Staff clearly working very hard and our waitress was extremely warm but possibly it was the position of our table that made it a bit of a thoroughfare and as such we didn't get to take advantage of any nice views, we didn't feel particularly cosy etc. so we could have been anywhere really. Food was good quality and tasty, just lacking in atmosphere for us.

Had the burger and turkey roast dinner. Food was delicious! Really impressed. Also happily served by Gillian who very pleasant.

The food was excellent. Real food cooked by a real chef. Real meat (not reconstituted). Wide choice. Look out for the national chain "Chef and Brewer" if they are all this good, this will change your attitude to eating out in the UK.

We went in for a roast dinner while out and about, the place itself is very run down and the seats are very tatty!, the food was quite nice but not much off it, we went for the mixed (3 meat) roast dinner, however they had run out of beef, so we were asked if we wanted to double up on the pork or turkey that was on offer, we both opted for the pork, but we're very underwhelmed when our meals arrived. We had 3 slices of meat on our plates! And small slices at that!, 2 x pork and 1 x turkey! The roast potatoes were tiny also. We both left still hungry. I don't think we will be rushing back I'm afraid.
