Food was ok, service was dreadful. Kept asking for a high chair, also kept asking for drinks and got forgotten about. Had to ask for drinks to be taken off the bill as they never arrived. Ridiculous prices for dreadful service

Attended for a birthday meal at the birthday girls request. As there was 10 of us we pre ordered our food which I actually preferred but be warned the portions are large so I regret having a starter. What makes this place worth a visit though is the service. I believe we were mostly served by Bethany who couldn’t do enough for us. Lovely food, clean pub, nice beer and fantastic service. Thank you

The company was good but the food was dreadful, fish and chips soggy, roast beef was poor with soggy roast potatoes the broccoli wasn’t even cooked, only food that tasted on par was the green beans, the landlady couldn’t be bothered to smile even after getting the wife’s drink wrong

Family Sunday dinner out was well cooked but meat free roast dinner came with no meat alternative but only a serving of Cauliflower cheese, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding which was not clearly shown on the menu. I had to ask for the stuffing which should have been part of my meal and I was surprised for the price there was no nut roast so I felt it was rather expensive for what I had.

Service was great, food was ok ordered the hunters chicken chips were great salad was fresh. But the chicken was overcooked and dry. Been back since thought I'd give it another go as it had been a while, had a roast dinner mine was edible but the meat was like sliced packet meat, my father and cousin both had grey roast potatoes wasn't edible I'm my opinion we asked the waiter about the grey potatoes she said she was going to speak to the chef, and they she just disappeared. They charge quiet a lot for food that seems to be cooked by someone very inexperienced.

Lovely atmosphere and lovely staff. Food was a bit hit and miss, broccoli was mushy/wet. The parsnips were lovely. The gammon roast, the meat was grey but tasted ok. Gluten free Yorkshire pudding was rock solid. I mean you couldn't eat it if you tried, it was that bad ( was nice that it was an option though, just needed to be cooked way way less or not kept under a heat lamp) The menu needs changing as the kids menu online says nuggets are gluten free but in the pub it doesn't say that, but in the pub it says the sausages are gluten free and they are not. Other options were available so it wasn't a huge problem, but I would recommend they change this as a little misleading. Toilets lovely and clean. Reasonable prices. Good menu choices The atmosphere and the staff are what makes this place.

The fish and chips were poor. Batter on the fish was so fried up and overcooked that it flew across the table when cut into. Most of the fish was stuck to the batter where it was dry and overcooked. The mushy peas were dry and tasteless and the chips were barely warm and dried up! The beef burger wasn’t hot and the bottom layer of the roll was pappy. Will not visit again and complete waste of money.

We were staying at the Honey Pod hobbit house (Ground house Leisure) on Sheppey and needed somewhere to meet up with family (total 8 adults, 4 children) that allowed dogs and not too far away. We had a very good evening at the Woolpack with good, proper pub food (all brought out together) and good service. The next day hubby and I were trying to find somewhere for lunch and decided it was easier to go back to the Woolpack. Again it was good service and food - their chips are the best! Recommended.

It was out first visit for Sunday lunch. Food bland and over cooked, with very little flavour. Turkey and Pork wasn't available and so we chose the roast beef. Beef was overcooked and felt like pre ordered slices from Brakes! Stuffing burnt, roast potatoes reheated, veg overcooked and pigs in blankets were like bullets. The best part was we didn't need to cook or wash up, we defiantly won't be back. Such a shame as they have a captive audience with the village.

Food and drink overpriced. Food is typical bland pub churn rubbish, no justification for the price. Exceptionally rude staff and landlady in particular, not just a one off as friends have all said the same, on seperate occasions. Nice pub, good food. Only downside is the novelty “ diy” steak cooking. Everyone in the place comes out smelling like they work in a burger van. Update. 6 people on the restaurant 6 in the bar. 5 staff. Still a 40 min wait for food , and when chased the response was “it’s only 30 mins I will show you the ticket” and “the girl is new”. That was after having to settle for 3rd choice on the menu because everything else was “sorry we don’t have that” How about “sorry - will have it with you as soon as we can” not defensive and blaming the waitress who was actually really friendly and welcoming unlike the owner. Keep on the way you are and you won’t have to worry about customers much longer. The building will be turned into flats and everyone will say “what a shame”. It will be a shame because it can be so good there. Not cheap and that’s ok if you are good. But this feels like it’s all a bit too hard, waiting too long to get food you didn’t really want whilst waiting in vain to get some service to buy another drink to be told “you have waited is 10 MINUTES leas than you guessed” and than paying over the odds for the privilege….. think I will spend the money somewhere else next time. I tried to explain that if I didn’t tell you you wouldn’t know but that also seemed like that was unwelcome. My mistake. Won’t repeat it.

We were very impressed by our recent visit to The Woolpack. Although we only had a couple of drinks, we did see some of the food being brought out and it looked very appetising. Therefore, we planned to come back another time (hopefully soon) to try it. The pub inside looked good enough, but we decided to sit in the beer garden as it was a sunny afternoon. The garden was very pleasant, it was well looked after with plenty of good quality seating and tables, a really good variety of flowers and plants and it had a good relaxing atmosphere. Definitely recommended.

Unfortunately having to rate this place low. I can’t actually quite believe I paid for our meal to be honest. My husbands chicken was really dry and inedible sadly. I had a curry but with every bite I had to spit out a big lemon pip or something really chewy not sure what it was but couldn’t bite into it. Curry was advertised as mild but I thought it was a bit too spicy and I like spice. You can taste all food came out of a packet which is disappointing, the chips were nice but that’s the only positive thing I could say about this place. The atmosphere is dull and apart from the two young girls who was serving tables you couldn’t get a smile out of the management/other staff. We also thought £60 was quite expensive for one starter two mains and a kids meal and only one alcoholic drink. It’s a shame because we picked here cos of good reviews but just didn’t get the same experience sadly.

Went here as a couple and was looking for a pub that served better than your usual deep fried food. Woolpack certainly met the brief. The mixed grill was huge, quality meat. Husband did not think he would be able to eat it all. Only minor negative, steak was served medium to well done. When order was taken not asked how he wanted it. I had the hot stone steak which was good. Again minor negative is the whole steak was served already cooking on the stone. I’m used to meat being on the side and then you cook using the stone that way it is how you want it. Because it was already on the stone, by the end you were eating well done steak (no plate to put on to stop it cooking). Variety of desserts including old school style kept in a hot cabinet. Have friends visiting in June so hope to visit again. The locals were friendly and we were made to feel welcome. Saw they had a fair sized beer garden.

Havent been since 2021 and definitely not going back as it has not got any better. Walked in and felt out of place, no warm welcome just locals staring at you. Had to find someone to say we had arrived after standing there for 5 minutes, no one else in the restaurant. Waitress was standing behind the bar talking. Finally got seated then waited an age for our drinks order to be taken, finally came back to ask what we wanted to eat. Food was ok nothing exciting only had a main course but waited an age for that too. Waitress came our clear our plates and that was the last we saw of her, she kept disappearing with her phone outside. At no point in the 35minutes we sat there after plates were cleared were we asked if we wanted dessert, another drink or coffee.. terrible service, no atmosphere and a complete let down if you are looking for a nice meal out. Used to be a lovely pub years ago, shame they really do not know how to make customers feel welcome now, putting fancy lights outside doesnt make it warm and inviting inside.

Been to the hospital work was covered let’s find somewhere for dinner!!! So owning a cab firm I get to hear loads about restaurants etc, we picked a lady up from The Woolpack last week, she was absolutely raving about it. So we figured we’d give it a go! Now I’m not quick on my toes, but we were welcomed as we stepped in and sat close to the door so didn’t have far to go. A lovely family atmosphere the locals all knew each other and the bar staff! Lovely big fish tank and a nice menu with a good choice to cover most needs and tastes. I was intrigued by black Rock steak……. Will be giving it a go next time having watched another diner going at it! In the mean time, I had Pork Belly, chips, coleslaw and corn. The good lady had beer battered cod chips and mushy peas. Her fish was so big it was trying to escape off the plate! As for the Pork belly when I’ve had it before it’s been nice but never very filling, so I had the whole not the half, lesson learnt, half would have been fine! Lol Topped off with Cheesey Garlic Ciabatta to share! Drinks for 2 and an amazing meal in a beautiful country pub! Perfect! If you’ve not been, do it!!!!

I left a complimentary review for the food at this Pub in March, having recently returned I can only say the portion size and quality have declined and prices have gone up. They seem to be pursuing the idea of a " Gastro "pub and in doing so have lost their way. £16.95 for a Ploughmans that consisted of a couple of pieces of Ham and 3 x 5mm slices of cheese, plus some salad that was past its best, VERY poor value. Hunters Chicken which last time was great , now served on a small wood/slate platter that I consider unhygienic. Drinks are expensive at over £5 a pint. Great shame, they have gone from 5* to 2* and we wont be going back.!

Menu not exactly varied but you can check online before you go. Service was ok although a table of 8 actually could do with 8 menus and not 6, and the free choc mints for after for 8 diners actually need 8 and not 7. Apart from the prices and the maths it is pretty good although not one I'd go back to.
