Exceptional service. Very friendly staff. The coffee was brewed to perfection. The tea, nice and strong. We each had a toasted sandwich and both were very tasty. The serving area is spotlessly clean and well-presented. The shop is spacious and inviting. The atmosphere, relaxed. The toilets are clean and well-appointed. Very impressed. Will definitely return.

A great pub that has live entertainment weekends and screens around on different channels to catch different sports (sound low or off) Excellent service with a smile and some banter Good ales and offers on most drinks Unfortunately no food at present

My wife and I enjoyed a very tasty Christmas lunch at The Man of Kent a couple of weeks ago. I regret to say that it was only our second visit in too many years to mention, a shame as the food here (cooked I believe by the owner) is of decidedly superior quality. Highlights were the trout mousseline, the braised pork cheeks and the Xmas Mess (with Drambuie). The pub interior is very atmospheric - tall people beware the low beams! Service was very pleasant which we always like. We enjoyed a very nice white Rioja. All in all, a very enjoyable lunch at a very reasonable price. Just be prepared to arrive hungry as portions are generous!

The Boot is a firm favourite of ours which consistently exceeds expectations with its cozy atmosphere, warm hospitality, and exceptional food and service. During our visit, the staff went above and beyond to recreate a pizza we used to get in South Africa - a testament to their accommodating nature and customer service. The pizza, like the rest of the dishes, was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared, showcasing the pride they take in their food. If you’re seeking brilliant cuisine paired with outstanding service, The Boot is a must-visit destination.

We visited on a Saturday evening for a family birthday. The food (Cheese burger and cod & chips) was great and good service. Desserts were nice and big, sadly I didn’t get a picture before we dug in! Lovely classic pub atmosphere. Would be good if they had menus as you have to read off the board which an older guest found difficult, but ultimately we had a lovely meal. Will be returning.

We booked our Christmas Reunion Meal for the Friday 6th Dec, on recommendation of good food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere! The evening couldn’t have gone better!! I’ve been a local for years and couldn’t believe I’d missed this little Gem!! Food was delicious, staff were attentive and helped us carry numerous bar trays to the table. The booking process and phone call to ensure numbers all pleasant and easy to do! Cannot recommend this place enough! We will definitely be back next year :) Many many thanks to all! Dan and Team! You were all stars! Thanks again!

We have eaten here many, many times over the years, for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, wakes etc and the food and staff have always been good and we have enjoyed every visit. New menu this year and what a joy it was - last night was the best ever, we all agreed. Look forward to the next time. Thank you!

You would think the minimum requirement for running a cafe was the ability to speak to people politely. The couple were extremely rude. They completely ignored us waiting at their serving window. The woman spent 5 mins studiously stirring what looked like 2 cups of instant coffee. It's a shame as their attitude put a real downer on a beautiful place. This is repeated again and again in these reviews, and it's true. These people obviously need to retire, get a job they like, or get some serious customer service training. I would avoid if you want to enjoy your walk. Park somewhere else, walk there, and take a flask. For info..car park is £5.

Yes I discovered that this pub is part of a chain where they all have the same menu and wines! Saying this…this is a nice cosy place near Seven Oaks with also some traditional English dishes (we enjoyed either the fish and chips and the pie!) and more modern offerings. Service is good, food is good the Chablis was cold and…it was raining outside!!!! Perfect for a grey day.
