Stayed in hotel for two nights. Staff were all lovely but at £125/night fot a single-person B&B room it's substandard. Check-in was fast if overly casual. Rooms are located round the corner from the pub in an old, scruffy semi-detached. My room was small, dated, dirty (especially windowsill and carpet), and far too hot. Solution offered for the heat (industrial-strength fan) was impractical and slightly embarrassing. Shower is tiny - barely enough room to move. No bath. Amenities didn't seem to match what was advertised (e.g., no iron), although the coffee/tea selection was good. Breakfast was great. Pub food is decent (got one of the pizzas), but clientele is big downside - loud, drunken, lairy, every second word a swear word. Can't recommend overall.

We didn't stay here, just came for dinner. It's got a nice down to earth feel in the pub. They no longer do Thai food now, but they do delicious pizzas. There are some interesting pizza toppings to choose from with a good drinks selection. Our food came out fairly quickly and was delicious. They are a good size, and if you are not too hungry, I would recommend sharing one, especially if you have a starter, too.

This was the first time we came to the Prince of Wales. They had a great evening with local musicians in the back room, just fantastic. So why only 3 stars? A pub needs friendly bar staff. Wow... a grumpy lady behind the bar (with short dark hair) shouted (yes shouted) at one customer for having her chair in the wrong place near the entrance (which could have said a bit more friendly) and threatened to stop the music if the lady keeps her chair where it was. At least the customer who was shouted at kept her cool. Then the lady behind the bar complained loudly to another customer for standing at the bar in a way blocking the way to the toilet (he was a little chunky !!! how rude), and then ignored us buying our drinks so we got it from the other (nice) bar staff. Another customer laughed at my shocked face and said that apparently she is known for her behaviour, another one said she missed the customer training course.... Very sad impression of an otherwise nice place. She should either really be trained or put in a place where she can not upset more customers.

We visited the prince of wales for a Father’s Day lunch today . It was also a surprise birthday get together. The pub were so accommodating, they allowed us in slightly before opening to setup, we also had a puppy with us and they positioned us where we could have the dog with us. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and despite being short staffed and it being Father’s Day m the food came out quickly and it was cooked to perfection. The special Parma ham salad was fresh and well dressed and not the normal limp salad pubs serve, and the pizza’s were huge, well cooked and the choice of toppings made it very difficult to choose. They are also freshly made so can cater for any changes required and even offers to do a half and half. The chicken tikka Bhaji pizza was to die for and I will definitely be ordering it again on our next visit. They have a good range of drought lagers and bottle etc and it’s a lovely pub surrounding. You won’t be disappointed, we had a thoroughly enjoyable time

Little tip - if you have mobility issues ask for a room downstairs as the stairs are quite steep We stayed here for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary and the owners were kind enough to leave a bottle of fizz in our room! Plenty of parking space, but it does fill up quickly in the evening. We received a warm welcome and were advised that they had karaoke on a Friday night - what they didn’t say was that it was directly underneath our room (room 4) and that it would be too loud to watch tv and the bed would vibrate!!!! However it was over at 2300 as promised. On first glance the room was nice, quite spacious with plenty of storage, tea & coffee, bottled water on the bedside tables, a fan (the room was very warm) and a hairdryer, plus usb chargers in the wall sockets. On closer inspection it did need some tlc, a lick of paint on the scuffed walls and skirting would make all the difference. The bathroom also needs tlc, the blind was a bit precarious and so I daren’t try and open it and it needed a good dust. The shower needs the grouting sorting and the seals cleaning and they need a new loo brush and toiletries holder! However the shower was good and the water hot and the towels nice and big, plus plenty of shower gel etc. Our main issue was the bed - there was a problem with the mattress and my husband had to roll up the quilt to be able to sleep. Some slats were also broken. We did mention this at breakfast and the issue was solved by the time we returned. Breakfast was included and was superb, apart from there being no fresh coffee, which is one of my pet hates - it costs very little to have a percolator or some cafetières So all in all not a bad stay but could be better with a few little touches, the staff and the hosts very friendly and helpful and the pub very handy for Marlow.

American visiting Marlow. I have to say, this place was fantastic. The best kind of people working the pub and the owner is a standup guy. Rooms were very clean and cute. Ask for room 4, if you have a choice. It's the best. But others were great as well, don't get me wrong. Breakfast cooked to order, full English available, just let them know when you plan on being down the night before so they can be ready. Cozy. Friendly. Felt like home. That's the best way I can put it. And the best place I could have asked for during my 15 day stay. I was there I think 6 nights. And as I bounced around GB I always looked forward to my nights back at the Prince. That's where I recharged. Speaking of recharging, the outlets do have USB. Mini fridge in the closet, just be sure the switch for the outlet is on for it. Super comfy beds. Quiet nights. Close to Marlow's High street where most of what the town has to offer is located. Side note - Marlow is a fantastic little town. If you come from the Midwest USA like me, it's like an alternative reality where people actually show up to small towns. It's how I imagined my hometown probably looked 60-70 years ago, as far as downtown liveliness goes. Lots of young people in the evening and nights. A couple late night clubs. Really really good food options. Lavvin and Marlow Bar and Grill were my favorites for meat. I appreciated everyone at the Prince of Wales so much. A trip I won't soon forget for sure. Really hope I make it back someday.

We come across this pub just by chance. Unfortunately our visit to Marlow wasn't for pleasure. We had a sick pet at the local animal referral centre and we decided to stay the night at the last minute. Upon arriving to the pub, we had a very pleasant welcome by the staff. In fact All staff/owner really nice and made us feel so welcome. Especially in our circumstances. They asked each time they saw us how things were. Room of a very good standard and size ( Room 3), Twin beds extremely comfortable too. Tea and coffee provided, plenty of milk and a fridge!! Separate entrance from the pub. and quiet. Great 'belly buster' breakfast. too. Will set you up for the day. Location is great, close to the high street and station if needed We actually ended up staying 2 nights...2nd night we sampled the pizza's, amazing. Well worth a try We wouldn't hesitate to return here. This would also be in memory of our little cat, that unfortunately was too sick for us to save.

So from the pictures or from the outside of the pub it doesn't look like much or like the rooms would be nice. You will be pleasantly surprised. The room I had was spacious with a large wardrobe, dressing table and chair. Plus a lounge chair, nice bed oh and there is a mini fridge in the room. The bathroom was nice, it could maybe do with a more powerful shower head though. Both sets of staff from the evening and the morning were really nice and very helpful. I had one of the pizzas and garlic that they make and sell. It was delicious and it is something I would definitely recommend trying whilst staying there. The room includes breakfast which was also nice. They also cater for vegetarians and vegan. Which was great for me. I will definitely be staying here again.

The POW does not try to be anything it’s not. It is a great locals pub, in the heart of a town known for Gastro or poser pubs. The POW is what it is, a great pub in a great location with no airs or graces. You can rub shoulders with local business men/women and trades people, all there for the good drinks (the landlord knows how to keep a great pint of ale) the friendly atmosphere and the clean and comfortable surroundings. The food offer is somewhat erratic at the moment (Dec/Jan) but when available is good basic fayre and plentiful... if you’re looking for haute cusine, visit one of the many offers in town. There is often live music available (usually solo/duos) and it’s normally a good nights entertainment. A great pub, with great drinks and friendly staff and customers.

Don't expect any type of of formal hotel or even b&b arrangements. This is a pub with rooms in a cottage round the back. Very nice friendly people. Fairly decent room ( apart from the broken hangars, the already used 3/4 empty carex for soap and shower) but although the breakfast was freshly cooked - disaster. No juice , no cereal, asked for brown and white toast - only brown. No pot of tea just a mug. No marmalade nor promised marmite. Transport cafe standards without the heartiness although the chef cum waiter was a lovely guy. Very poor value for money at £130.00

We ate (and drank) lunch at the Prince of Wales today (Saturday). The restaurant side of the pub is run as Carols Kitchen and seems to be a separate business within the pub. The food was simple pub grub - we had the all-day breakfasts, complete with fried bread, and they were enormous and lovely grub. The staff were very helpfull and service was both timely and friendly. The menu must be the most reasonably priced pub-grub menu in Buckinghamshire & Berkshire, with eg the all-day breakfast at about £8. Excellent value for money within easy walking distance of Marlow town centre. And it has the added bonus of a pub car park accomodating about 20 cars.

Called the pub before we went because I've been there 5 times and 4 times they'd run out of steak. I was told they had Rump on the phone but not Sirloin.Went with my brother and ordered the steak meal. After paying for the meal in advance we were then told they have Sirloin and not Rump and would have to pay the difference as Sirloin is more expensive. No issue with that. Food was all different temperatures. Chips and onion rings hot. Tomato and steak luke warm. Meat was not seared as the steak normally is. Also the steak was the worst I've ever had. It was full of fat right the way through. About a third of it was fat which I obviously didn't eat. Staff smoking and vaping outside which is fine but no one came over to say how is the food. The guy behind the bar came to take the plates as he was outside and could see we were finished and said I'll take them plates away. I said I'm not usually one to complain but that steak was full of fat and it was the worst I've ever had. He apologised and I said it's not your fault but I thought I'd let you know. He said that I got stiffed with that bit of steak and I bet I wish I'd had the rump now. Obviously trying to make light of the situation which I didn't have a problem with as it's an easy way out of someone complaining. I wasn't offered a free drink or any discount. Would have been nice to have been offered. I normally leave a tip but obviously didn't. Anyway have a look at the photo of the leftover fat and see if you would have been happy with being charged £48 for two steak meals with a sauce and two lagers. For the record my brothers steak was lovely and he had virtually nothing left over. 28/08/24. Still no good will gesture after leaving this review. Won't be going back.

This is my favourite pub in Marlow. The management and staff here go above and beyond, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food and drink are consistently top-notch, making each visit a delight. With the new leadership, the pub has retained its charm and continues to thrive as the local gem it is. Even though there are more options in town, this place remains my top choice and true local!

I get the impression that the owners are winding the Taps down. The bar staff are excellent, beer is good but often the selection can be poor. Food is no longer available, but you can take food in. The bar is looking tired, the loos are very retro, if 1970s public toilets are your thing. Its a real shame.
