This pub dates back to 1378. It’s a low beamed building so watch your head. Menu was good and food delicious. Staff helpful and friendly. There was a real fireplace burning. It’s a very kids friendly and dog friendly place. Customer car park round the back and beer garden for warmer months.

My daughter wanted a cosy pub with an open fire to have a meal and cocktail to celebrate her Birthday. We have visited this establishment in the summer and enjoyed tapas in the sunshine. To eat inside in the winter months was just lovely. The open fire gave a cosy and warm atmosphere, where we enjoyed a pre dinner cocktail. Our table was in amongst other diners, who looked like they were regulars, there was a great buzz about the place. The food was home cooked, reasonably priced and service was excellent. Thanks for a great evening.

We had been pondering where to go all morning and my partner suggested The Angel as we had spent a few summer afternoons sitting in the front garden enjoying drinks earlier in the year. I called in the afternoon to book and made the lady on the phone aware that we would be bringing our two babies, a 3 year old and a puppy, she was very polite and seemed happy to accommodate us and our puppy in particular. We arrived after the rest of our party and two friends had joined us for a quick drink. Upon arrival, without even greeting us, the waitress came over and said that she was going to have to move us somewhere else as there were now a lot more of us than stated in the booking (there were two more?) we explained that our TWO friends weren’t eating, they were just joining for a drink and she still insisted that we move to the stables. So the rest of the party gathered all of their things up and took the children out of their highchair without even being asked if it was ok for us to move, just being told. Once in the stables, we realised that there was no one else in there, so after waiting to order a drink with no staff in sight, we went to the bar to order our drinks. We were then made to feel continuously unwelcome for the remainder of the meal by this particular member of staff, every communication that was had with her was abrupt, rude and she made us feel like we shouldn’t have been there. Nothing was said with any manners whatsoever. When leaving, my partner went to pay the bill, he and another member of our party wanted to split the bill and asked to pay half of the £200 bill each, instead of taking the payment she asked ‘are you not going to pay service charge then?’ My partner then awkwardly paid another £20 service after a terrible customer service experience and to be honest, not great good. We had one waitress that was very accommodating and polite, but honestly the other lady completely ruined the whole experience for us and we would not go back after being made to feel as if we were a hindrance instead of paying customers.

Never got to eat food yesterday as they didn’t even acknowledge my husband at the bar… I heard the older lady behind the bar tell the young waitress to “leave him we have food to get out of the kitchen” the waitress tried bless her but to not even get a “Hello we will be with you as soon as we can” just the hostility of a cold shoulder meant we went elsewhere and glad we did! Impeccable food and service at The Neville Bull 👌

Lovely evening tonight. Greeted with our normal drinks on the table as we walked in and we only visit once a month. The service from the young couple was exceptional and the food the same. We had tapas to start as normal and tonight my wife had the minted Barnsley lamb chop and I had the wild bore burger. Both absolutely lovely. My burger was the best I have had for a long time. Great Harvey’s bitter and all round lovely evening.

The service and staff were great; really friendly and helpful. But the food was honestly the worst thing I’d had in a long time. My teenage son described his meal as “reheated school dinners”. And I thought that summed it up perfectly. When I got the bill I felt angry and resentful by the extortionate amount I was being charged. If you are after a drink then I’d recommend it. But if you want food then give this a miss. This area is graced with lots of amazing local pubs which serve fantastic food. Travel a couple of extra miles and choose one of those instead.

It's such a shame, this is a lovely looking pub. However, we went for dinner on Saturday night. We were eventually seated and then waited 25 mins before having to call someone to ask for drinks. The drinks then sat on the bar for another 10 mins, in the end we went and got them ourselves. The food was no better. One of us ordered a Waldorf salad - main ingredients of which are walnuts, apples, grapes - there were no walnuts in it, and only a couple of pieces of apple. We asked for some walnuts, but they didn't have any! The prawn crackers were dripping in oil. The steak was fine. But the service and some of the food was appalling.

Then finished the call & still didn’t acknowledge us. So I called out just want to let you know we have a table booked & she walked up to us saying I am serving someone else. Always love this venue and great food. However, disappointed, as we had booked for 4 persons 3 weeks in advance and because we were initially asked to be seated in the cold 'stable' because of "walk-ins". I booked for my brother and wife through the Inn's website which uses Open Table. This has a message section so in hope rather than expectation, I advised that two of us would prefer haddock rather than cod as our battered fish. Within 24 hours, the Inn had replied that they do not normally buy haddock for the weekends - just their Fish 'n Chip Thursday specials. However if i could confirm how many haddock would be required, they would order accordingly. We arrived at 7.00pm last evening, checked in and the restaurant manager confirmed they had two haddock for our party. Now that is proper service!! Pleased to advise that the fish and chips with garden peas and tartare sauce was served piping hot, with thin crunchy batter and perfectly cooked chips. Just wonderful and cant wait to return. By the way, my brother and i really enjoyed the pint of Harvey's bitter. Fresh, tasty and at the right btemperature.

My husband and I were frequent visitors to the Angel Inn. After a disappointing lunch a few weeks ago - we just wanted prawn wraps and were told no prawns so ordered chicken wrap which was dry and not the usual standard I vowed we wouldn’t visit again anytime soon. However , decided to give benefit of the doubt and visit with a friend today for tapas . The tapas dishes were very nice but when we asked for desert were told there were a few things unavailable in the menu but we only wanted ice cream so told that was no problem. However , when waitress returned was given the news that there was no chocolate or salted caramel ice cream , so I ordered strawberry instead - my friend ordered hot chocolate and wanted it with cream , was told they didn’t have any?! My strawberry ice cream arrived - it was not strawberry, was basically white in colour and the taste did not resemble strawberry in any way . My friends hot chocolate came to the table and basically tasted like hot water . The waitress (who I don’t blame at all) said she would tell the chef who tried to tell her it was a creamy strawberry- no way was it !! We then said not to worry we won’t have anything else and carried on with our drinks - we were then presented with the bill (we hadn’t asked for it) and still charged for the ice cream . This was taken off when asked . Such a shame, really don’t know what’s happened here , quite surprised manager /owner didn’t come to table when we’d sent items back untouched ?. Hoping things can be turned around as this used to be one of our favourite places to eat and drink .

We booked a table for 10 for a family event, for Father's Day and a family birthday. The service was excellent, the food not so much. The starters were generally okay, but the calamari my wife had were definitely a bit anaemic, I appreciate over cooking can make them rubbery, but these had very little colour from the fryer. I had the pork, it was good, but they'd managed to get gravy on the crackling, taking away the crunch. The roast potatoes, instead of being fluffy with a crisp exterior, were just hard and undercooked. The roast carrots were good, but the remainder of the vegetables were bland.

After a rather stressful morning car shopping just down the road, we got to the Angel around half past 2. Starving and a little delirious, we walked through the large seating area outside the front of the pub where plenty of people were eating and enjoying the sunshine. Upon entering the building, we were welcomed by several members of staff, who were all very busy but found the time to acknowledge us and ask us just to give them 1 minute. Sure enough, one minute passed, and the staff behind the bar were taking our drinks orders. My other half questioned if the kitchen was still open as we were now closing on on 3pm. The lady told us yes, but we need to be quick to order. Having spied the dish I was after moments before, I knew exactly what I wanted and rather hastily and excitedly shouted it out. (This became a lovely little joke between the bar staff and us, as later she did ask if the burger had hit the spot) My wife and I then went to the rear garden and sat in the conservatory so we didn't burn in the afternoon sun. The food came out quickly and was both very generous in portion size and excellently cooked and presented. (The skinny fries were crunch and hot, the burger was juicy and delicious, and the cranberry and bacon panini was approximately the size of a small horse.) The atmosphere in this place is great and the staff were very helpful and quite fun. I will be returning, and I will probably be getting the same thing again! Delicious!

The Angel is a really great example of a traditional country pub in Kent. Add in the quality of the food and service, the value for money and the ambience, then why would I not consider the Angel as a venue for my late Father's Wake? After all Dad and I enjoyed many a lunch or dinner at this lovely Pub Restaurant, and he always valued the charm that the Angel provides. So easy to deal with and such great quality, I simply cannot recommend The Ange Inn Addington, and the team that make it work, enough. Never mind a Wake.... First time in this wonderfully picturesque pub, but definitely not the last. It is a 14th century treasure! We arrived early for dinner but were served promptly with drinks. The menu is very decent with plenty of options for all tastes, and reasonably priced. We...

Excellent food. Would recommend the Sunday lunch and the Barnsley lamb chops. Lovely location, attentive staff and good atmosphere. And more importantly dog friendly 😀

A good friend suggested this lovely old pub for a quick lunch after a morning business meeting at his nearby offices. Plenty of car park space and only a mile off the busy A20. Warm welcome as we were shown to our pre-booked table and...

Had a lovely meal of wraps, served with chips and salad. One prawn wrap which was bursting with prawns and one chicken which was also really tasty. Everything was fresh, well presented and service was again excellent. Thank you, we shall be back.

We were greeted at the bar and directed to our private dining room. The bar staff were cheerful, helpful and the prices reasonable. Our servers were polite and attentive with the food delivered quickly. The meals were a piping hot, the meat tender and the seasonable veg. attractive, tasty and plentiful. The empty plates were cleared quickly and the courses served promptly. All in all dining at the Wealden Hall was a very good experience and I’d have no hesitation in recommending the venue.

Poor. One of worse pubs I've visited in a while. London Pride was nearest they got to an Ipa, and it was absolutely awful, like it was off. Won't go back.

Lovely Sunday lunch. Meats on trio roast were great, parsnip and veggies slightly undercooked, but that's just personal preference! Service was amazing and nothing too much trouble. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
