Nice food in a nice place, but expensive for the small portion sizes. Disappointment exacerbated by the addition of a standard service charge. This is like a red rag to a bull, to me - whenever I'm presented with this I find it easy to provide no tip, on principle. The service was fine, but they didn't take the opportunity to do something to acknowledge my daughter's 30th birthday, which she advised them about when she booked the table, making it even easier not to tip. Crazy, anyway, that we are all conditioned to feel we should pay optional taxes to waiters and waitresses, yet try to avoid paying taxes that go to doctors, nurses, teachers, etc.

We had a lovely meal. Thank you Lucy M for your attention and Doru for the great food! We had the lunch time menu - perfect portions and delicious.

After walk along the Thames, we were ready for lunch and once again The Trout did not disappoint. The charming and delightful Lucy M served us chef Doru's great food .

Poor service, poor over priced food. We ordered three mains for lunch and one starter. The person at the bar didn't hear the full order first time round - which is fair enough - but the result was that one main was put in as a separate order and didn't arrive with the others. In fact it arrived very early, and it turned out that the reason was that is had been sitting in the kitchen for a long time and was completely inedible. We had to take it back. A perfunctory apology and it was replaced, again long before the other food arrived. The starter only arrived 15 minutes after the mains. The food was dry, overcooked and we found a hair in the risotto. A completely unacceptable experience. And expensive. The setting is quite OK, though, so go for a single drink (they, too, are expensive) and enjoy sitting by the river. But don't try the food

We held a memorial event for my dad at the Trout. The team did everything to make it go smoothly, from planning the buffet food and the tech set up, to looking after everyone on the day.

Lovely position on the river. Bit pricey 33 for a smallish ribeye. Belly pork was good and best crackling. Friendly staff

I turned up starving hungry to an early dinner having skipped lunch, was not told that we'd need to order at the bar so were delayed ordering. Then, once my meal came, and I'd shifted the rocket leaves around to see what I'd been served, I became aware that I was given a meagure portion that looked pretty well done - looking almost like a reheated slice of lasagne from the night before...so much for a special (ordered from the specials menu). I was so disappointed and still hungry.

A really good place for dinner. Kelly and Alex provide very nice service.

A place where you like to spend more hours due to the friendly service and the perfect meal.

This is a totally 5 star restaurant! Even in the rainy and cloudy weather the whole experience was so wonderful, it's difficult to imagine the beauty during summers! The food was amazing. The service was impeccable. Having meal here is an experience. Don't go if you want to tick if off your list. Sit down, relax and soak it to enjoy it, will be my advice!

Delicious pub lunch with a stunning view of the river. The food was brilliant and our waitress, Nell was incredible and so accommodating - really went the extra mile to make our experience enjoyable.

I recently visited and I can wholeheartedly say my experience here was 10/10. The staff were incredibly attentive, my server named Amyleigh was very friendly and truly elevated the whole dining experience. she was not only kind and welcoming but also very knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot on, and She made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. It's always a plus when the staff go above and beyond to make you feel special. This restaurant definitely gets a big thumbs up from me for Amyleighs exceptional service! Will definitely be returning.

The foo d was perfect! Service was also spot on the servers were polite and friendly. Beautifully situated. Not cheap but worth every penny We did ask for a quieter placed table but ended up next to a huge family party. A few of our party do have some problems with noise levels so more planning in this aspect would have been appreciated.

My experience was outstanding, thanks in large part to the amazing server, Amyleigh. The food was top-notch, the atmosphere was cozy, and the service was impeccable. Our main server Amyleigh was great and couldn't be faulted in anyway. However our other server who seated is told us that all other seats were booked and so we were sat away from a window as requested. This transpired not to be true and we didn't appreciate being lied to.

It was my first time in visiting The Trout Inn. And what a find. Lovely staff and food and a special mention must go to Lucy who looked after us so well. So, it is a big thumbs up for The Trout Inn.

The location and atmosphere is breathtaking. Both me and my family found the food 5 star and the cherry on the top was the amazing service we had received throughout our meal. The drinks were one of the highlights of our trip here, made exactly how we love, the young lady aurora at the bar gave great service with a bright smile!

Went the other week with a friend, aurora on bar was soo nice and very friendly, great service, 100% would go again!

Great stop on Thames Path. Superb food with varied menu. Accommodation was spacious and boutique. Glorious gardens by the river.

The location is beautiful, the back garden of the restaurant is big and open featuring a lovely river running beside it that makes for a great atmosphere the car park is very big and food is great. My drinks order was taken quickly and politely by Aurora on the bar who poured the perfect pint for me and my friends

Came here for a family birthday. The roast dinners were amazing and it was the only place I've ever been to where they then offered extra gravy and roast potatoes! The biscoff donuts were delicious too and options for veggies, 100% recommend this pub.

Terrible experience - on all levels! Arrived - only to be told our reservation wasn’t found. Had to sit in the most inconvenient section of the restaurant (as we were told it was the only table left available). Staff (potentially a manager on duty) was extremely rude. We needed some clarity on the menu (specifically the vegetarian roast) - he seemed ‘put out’. It was only when i pointed out that I found his behaviour to be demeaning, that he wanted to help. Food - mediocre at best. The duo beef roast & trio roasts were full of fat & the meats were tough altogether. Also, please have the gravy on the side - as no one likes their food smothered in gravy & bread sauce. Dirty plates left on our table & others near by. Staff seemed to walk by without a care in the world. Will take this place off our list, which is a shame We left as very disappointed patrons!

A perfect Sunday family lunch, impeccable service for 15 of us hosted by Nell. Great food, location and setting.
