Joseph, the chef, is superb. Very good Malbec Beef Pie, White chocolate Creme Brullee=To-Die-For-Scrumptious and BEST of all The VERY BEST Scallops and complimentary sauce I have EVER eaten! I am very old and have eaten many scallops in my life!! I'll come back for more!

Lucy was such a lovely waitress. Very patient whilst we took out time selecting from the menu. She went beyond the call of duty by taking my phone to be charged. She is a credit to The Trout. Thank you.

Incredible scallops and beef croquets, beautiful spot with tasty beers. Easily the nicest pub in the area. Daniel and Sam were perfect hosts and we greatly look forward to our return.

In the midst of storm Bert, we found ourselves here, and all I can say is it was our refuge from the ongoing calamity outside. And what a sanctuary it was - delightful food (by chef Dom I’m told), expert service (by the illustrious Jez), and the company was also quite excellent (although I won’t mention them by name). 5 stars, we will definitely be frequenting this enchanting spot again!

Very friendly staff, lovely location. Food was ok but slightly disappointing considering the price. Butternut squash soup was very oily rather than velvety. I didn't like the whole sage leaves floating in it. I asked for my fillet steak sandwich to be medium rare but it was well done. The meat was also surprisingly fatty and chewy in places, and had obviously been sitting a while before it was served as it wasn't piping hot.

Really nice atmosphere. Comfy chairs, Warm. Lots of variety to drink. Menu looked tempting. Would have had something if the group I was with did.

Ordered 2 ribeye steaks to be delivered due to my partner being heavily pregnant and unable to go out for birthday meal. It arrived with the chips very dry and the steak was ordered as WELL DONE but came more rare and still beating which we was unable to eat. £69 out the window. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Warm welcome and shown straight to our table even though we had arrived early. Extensive menu. We were able to enjoy a long leisurely family lunch without being rushed. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. We felt well looked after. Would definitely recommend to others and will go back again if we are in the area in the future

Lucy was so lovely BUT food was disappointing and overpriced - poached pear particularly overpriced for a unenjoyable pudding - burger was ok but not worth £18! Lovely staff though

Nice food in a nice place, but expensive for the small portion sizes. Disappointment exacerbated by the addition of a standard service charge. This is like a red rag to a bull, to me - whenever I'm presented with this I find it easy to provide no tip, on principle. The service was fine, but they didn't take the opportunity to do something to acknowledge my daughter's 30th birthday, which she advised them about when she booked the table, making it even easier not to tip. Crazy, anyway, that we are all conditioned to feel we should pay optional taxes to waiters and waitresses, yet try to avoid paying taxes that go to doctors, nurses, teachers, etc.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary this evening at The Trout Inn. Impeccable service by Joe - thank you - and absolutely delicious food. A perfect evening. Thank you again and we will definitely be back soon.

We booked for my mother's birthday meal, table for 11 people. We'd asked in advance for seating near the toilets for my father as he has mobility issues and there was a little mix up with this on arrival, but staff were quick to resolve it and move us to a suitable table with minimal fuss. We were looked after by Kelly and she couldn't have been more attentive; really warm and friendly service. Food was great and everyone left satisfied. Would definitely recommend; great pub.

Great food - service was very slow but it was a busy Sunday. Our order had actually been forgotten and was blamed on the fact that we had moved one table over to be under a heater despite our starters being served at the new table. Staff were friendly and recovered it well - mistakes happen and will be back again.

After walk along the Thames, we were ready for lunch and once again The Trout did not disappoint. The charming and delightful Lucy M served us chef Doru's great food .

We had a fabulous lunch at The Trout today and the experience could not have been better. We were a group of 24 and had our own room at the end of the pub with a door to the outside terrace. This worked so well for us and was great for the children in the group as we did not feel that we were impacting on the other diners in any way. The food was exceptional and our waitress, Steph, was incredibly kind and helpful. Being such a large group we had pre-ordered, but our waitress ran through everything with us before the orders were put through to the kitchen to double check everything. This pub used to be one of our favourite haunts many years ago but we hadn’t visited for a while. Based on our experience today we will definitely be back soon. Highly recommend.

Poor service, poor over priced food. We ordered three mains for lunch and one starter. The person at the bar didn't hear the full order first time round - which is fair enough - but the result was that one main was put in as a separate order and didn't arrive with the others. In fact it arrived very early, and it turned out that the reason was that is had been sitting in the kitchen for a long time and was completely inedible. We had to take it back. A perfunctory apology and it was replaced, again long before the other food arrived. The starter only arrived 15 minutes after the mains. The food was dry, overcooked and we found a hair in the risotto. A completely unacceptable experience. And expensive. The setting is quite OK, though, so go for a single drink (they, too, are expensive) and enjoy sitting by the river. But don't try the food

We held a memorial event for my dad at the Trout. The team did everything to make it go smoothly, from planning the buffet food and the tech set up, to looking after everyone on the day.

Lovely position on the river. Bit pricey 33 for a smallish ribeye. Belly pork was good and best crackling. Friendly staff

A place where you like to spend more hours due to the friendly service and the perfect meal.

I turned up starving hungry to an early dinner having skipped lunch, was not told that we'd need to order at the bar so were delayed ordering. Then, once my meal came, and I'd shifted the rocket leaves around to see what I'd been served, I became aware that I was given a meagure portion that looked pretty well done - looking almost like a reheated slice of lasagne from the night before...so much for a special (ordered from the specials menu). I was so disappointed and still hungry.

This is a totally 5 star restaurant! Even in the rainy and cloudy weather the whole experience was so wonderful, it's difficult to imagine the beauty during summers! The food was amazing. The service was impeccable. Having meal here is an experience. Don't go if you want to tick if off your list. Sit down, relax and soak it to enjoy it, will be my advice!

I recently visited and I can wholeheartedly say my experience here was 10/10. The staff were incredibly attentive, my server named Amyleigh was very friendly and truly elevated the whole dining experience. she was not only kind and welcoming but also very knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot on, and She made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. It's always a plus when the staff go above and beyond to make you feel special. This restaurant definitely gets a big thumbs up from me for Amyleighs exceptional service! Will definitely be returning.
