Taylors Summertown in Oxford

First ever visit Sat 7th Sept 2024 11am for brunch. Coffees, croissants and sausage baps... ...all lovely and not expensive. Seating indoors was just right. I will definitely go again.

We were looking for somewhere to have breakfast, we found Taylors and were so glad we did! We both had the Big Breakfast Bap, and it was DELICIOUS! Fantastic value for the quality of food. Customer service was also great, really welcoming, warm and friendly.

Excellent place and friendly gentleman at the front counter who can explain the history of coronation chicken.

I would definitely recommend the Coco Loco, the best smoothies in Summertown!

Tried out the too good to go app, and was pleasantly surprised. Taylor’s was one of the venues that was offering this deal.We were served by a lovely man called Tom, very friendly, kind and helpful. Food was amazing, great value, and will definitely return.

While in Oxford half a dozen times over the last 18 months as part of my studies, I stayed in Summertown. Taylor’s was my go to for panini’s and coffee for study sessions rain or shine. Recently visited with my family for graduation for a breakfast roll, something us Irish hold sacred (along with custom rolls and salads as we have these in every corner shop) and the family were well fed, great chat with the staff and loved the coffee and friendliness. Hoping to remain connected to Oxford as alumni and Taylor’s too by extension for their quality food, great service and customisable options. Thanks Tom and team 👍

Just so nice here - really warm and welcoming place, lovely food and I really like the Illy coffee. It’s very smooth, great depth.

Went for a coffee today. served by a new member of female staff wearing a trainee badge on only her fourth shift. Very smiley, talkative, gave great service as well as a very nice cup of coffee.

Fantastic breakfast bap! Coming from Ireland it makes all the difference when you're missing a breakfast roll.

Only in Oxford for a few days but as my hotel doesnt cater, this has proved to be the best place to have a quick breakfast roll and a cuppa

My friend and I pop into Taylor’s most Sunday mornings for a coffee and pastry and in general most of the staff are very pleasant, but today we came in and were greeted my Tom who was very accommodating and knowing that we had walked from Kidlington offered us some water with our coffee, it’s the little things that go along way. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I absolutely love Taylor's Coffee Shop in Summertown, Oxford! The staff here are incredibly attentive and friendly, making every visit a joy. The coffee is top-notch and the cakes are delicious - a perfect combination for a relaxing break or catch-up with friends. I especially recommend trying their "natas" pastries, they are truly amazing! Taylor's Coffee Shop is definitely a gem in Summertown and I can't wait to go back for more. Highly recommended!

Hampers are not just for Christmas……Love having my morning coffee in Taylor’s in Summertown. Great staff, so friendly. And when I needed a special gift for a business meet up at the eleventh hour, I asked for a hamper to be made up of a product selection of my choice. It was no problem they sprung into action and my hamper was ready for collection 2 day’s later…bang on time. Thank you so much, it was gratefully received. Definitely recommend hampers for any occasion. 👏

Brilliant busy coffee shop thay does the BEST lunches in town! Baguettes are freshly baked, salads are freshly made as is the soup pasta and all their sauces. This is THE place to go when u need to grab something at lunchtime!

I am a wheelchair with neurological damage and they are always particularly good at taking my order and ensuring I have what I want even if the speech is difficult. Gorgeous food and lovely company. I am a regular visitor!

Taylor’s is one of the few reasonably priced eateries in Summertown. The flat white is perfect and I recommend the chicken ceasar salad with extra avocado, sweetcorn and peppers for under £10. Tom, Cesari and Anita are a great team and you are sure to receive warm and friendly service.

Since I first walked through the door to a warm welcome from Cesare nearly 2 years ago, I have made Taylor's Summertown a daily must. Thanks to one and all - Tom, Anita, Milo, Alex, Rob, Jamie, Casey, and, of course, Cesare (apologies if I've missed anybody on the amazing staff) for their cheerfulness, excellent coffee and such a great range of delicious food. If you don't go to Taylor's then you're really missing out! Andy

Lovely cafe in a gorgeous location in Oxford. I have been a few times and the staff are all very friendly and helpful, specifically one named Jamie who made me an incredible salad. Very good portion size with so many different options and incredible value for money. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a new lunch spot in Oxford!

Best coffee and food on the go (or stop!) in Oxford. Summertown’s my local branch but I tend to gravitate towards them wherever I am in town. Plus, who can argue with a free cookie in the afternoon…

Black coffees & ‘lash n go’ smoothie were also delicious. 😋 Our first visit to Summertown for 20 years was well worth it! Thank you very much Taylors!

Great experience at Taylor’s in Summertown today. The guy that served us ‘Casey’ was so friendly and helpful in explaining the menu and gave some great recommendations. It was refreshing to be served by someone so polite and happy.

Small Cushions the total rip-off

Served cold chilli con carne so swapped with pasto pasta very small portions and very salty Other meal was a chicken salad, chicken was very dry and tough lettuce had black egdes. Wouldn't eat there again

The food here is amazing! The staff is extremely nice and quickly prepares your order for you, the paninis, hot chocolate, espressos in particular are a tasty recommendation. The restaurant has a cozy feeling and it is very pleasant to sit and relax at.

Neighbourhood cafe with sandwiches and a pasta bar. Lovely place to have lunch and spend an afternoon alike.

Consistently good coffee and great pastel de nata. Bacon sandwiches also a hit with the kids.

Very nice. Breakfast baps are delicious and filling. The sausage is quality as is the bacon. Fresh black coffee and fresh orange juice. I also bought a coronation chicken baguette for lunch. About £15.00 in all. Sitting inside is good. Music. Lively atmosphere. I like it. Staff very polite.

Great staff who go above and beyond. Pasta lunch deal is good value. Staff are kind to children and babies. They were busy for Friday lunch time, but staff dealt with the queue really well. Would recommend.

I've been going to Tailors on off for atleast 20 years . Sadly this morning in a real hurry I asked for a cheese and ham toasty .After a crazy run to do what I had too before work I grabbed my baguette with cold ham and cheese . Half a toasty should be half the price . Sadly not the service I have come to expect , father place was empty and 3 employees heard what I asked for .

Decent food. The older woman who appears to be the manager often seems to talk and act in a very rude manner to the staff, who also seem to be overstretched. Somebody I know that used to work in Taylor’s confirmed my suspicions, saying how difficult she found working with the manager and how hard they were expected to work, while the manager stands there miserably as if it’s annoyed her that a customer has come in. Shame because if it wasn’t for her I would be happier spending my money in a local shop, but her attitude towards customers and staff is disgusting so I make sure to avoid going in. Much better off going to Gail’s or LB’s.

Popped in here on a whim for some breakfast and I’m so glad we did. I really fancied a bacon baguette and that’s exactly what I had, it really hit the spot. Nice coffee too. I would come here all the time if I was a local!

Taylors are amazing! 🤤 They truly are Oxford's gourmet sandwich and deli shop, as they state themselves! 🥖☕ This is just one of their great shops situated around the city! Any of the Oxford branches you visit always serve the freshest handmade food and drinks, and all at very fair prices! The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always make the food to the best it can be, going the extra mile with each customer 👌🏻 They have a wide range of deli items to fill sandwiches or baguettes, and offer other hot food, and a wide range of drinks too. You can take away, or sit inside or outside, at no extra cost which is nice. A staple of Oxford, and possibly the best place to get a bite to eat for lunch! 🙌🏻

I would of loved to if given this more stars but the service is not very good. Went in and waited at pasta counter and they lady making the sandwiches just looked at me didn’t even engage or get someone to help me. So I got my lunch elsewhere

Lovely cafe with so many options and nice customer service as well. I usually love the sundriend tomato pesto pasta!! Its really amazing :)! Tried the smoothie for the first time and it was nice but could be a little cheaper. Having some student discounts could be even better since prices could be a little pricey. Would love to try some other ones in the future as well :)!

Proper grumpy service in an almost empty cafe - overpriced, half-empty sandwich ended up burnt and slapped in a bag where the contents slid out everywhere- everything seemed too much effort. Like to support small(er) businesses, but I'd go to Costa down the road if I was you!

Food is delicious. I recommend the baguettes. See his is a bit chaotic, I've been visiting for years but still don't really know what you're supposed to do!

Breakfast a disaster : no decaf tea or coffee, and tepid porridge which wasn't hot enough to cook. When I asked for it to be warmed up, the assistant said they didn't have a microwave. Gave up (several pounds lighter in pocket) and went to Costa where the customer service is excellent, and the breakfast both in stock and cooked.

Attitude, was as if why are you here, they really could not be bothered to serve us?, two coffees, two bottles of water, a Flapjack, a Goats cheese rinky dink thingio, a roasted vegetable something or other, £32.00, next great.

We have just had a breakfast at Taylors in Summertown. The food was terrible - sawdust tasting sausages, cold hard bacon, cold over cooked mushrooms, cold egg, dry toast served without butter (we had to ask for it) no sauces available. Truly the worst breakfast we have ever had. You would be advised to avoid this cafe like the plague. This definitely deserves a zero rating.

When we are in Summertown, we nearly always make a beeline to Taylors for a sausage roll (heated of course) and a coffee. The food and service are always great. Do visit !
