Living in the UK for nearly 17 years, I’ve had countless English breakfasts – but this one? Truly next level. The King's Arms in Oxford served the most outstanding full English I’ve ever tasted. Everything felt homemade – even the baked beans had that special, comforting touch. The coffee? Absolutely amazing. Rich, smooth, perfectly brewed – just what you need to complete a breakfast masterpiece. The atmosphere of the place is indescribably beautiful. It’s warm, elegant, and full of character – the kind of place that instantly makes you feel at home. This is more than just a meal – it’s an experience. A true worship of food and hospitality. Hats off to the chef and the whole team – I can’t wait to come back with my family!

Needed somewhere to eat, so we chanced our arm at the Kings Arms. This place is definitely a place up there to visit with all the little snugs to sit in, the buzzing atmosphere, with all age's eating and drinking. One of the bartenders pulled the perfect pint, really lively, clearly quickly with a good head on it. Plenty of choice of real ales, food and drinks, I did like the idea of still being able to buy food snacks with your pint, like a scotch egg or sausage roll, these were accessible to the bartenders to serve straight away and not having to wait for the kitchen to plate them and find what table you're at. We did order fish and chips from the menu, the fish batter was crisp, as were the chips. I also liked that you had curry sauce along with the tartar sauce. The big surprise was the Oxford sauce, never seen it before but what a great sauce. So onto the big question would I go back, it's a yes, great place.

We live in the midlands and will pay £20 for a very good Sunday Roast so in Oxford I found this price… Perfect! Overall - 5.5. Will keep consist… Perfect!!!

It reminded me of cold head cheese or something similar that my mom or sister would serve. It was very tasty and we enjoyed it and soaked it up as part of the experience. We also had and shared the fennel, orange and chestnut salad a complete vegetarian meal or side or starter, and it was tasty I haven’t got used to stepping away from my table to go and order my meal. The King's Arms: A Hip New Place to Meet Gruff Ex-cons? A man walking into a pub can, and should, expect three things. A selection of beers on draught is always a good draw. A warm, relaxed ambience never goes amiss. A selection of seasonal, well-priced meals is generally the finishing touch. The King's Arms, however, takes this up a significant notch (perhaps even two notches). Toilets that one needs wellies to navigate in order to avoid dyeing their shoes a gorgeous fluorescent yellow? A private function room that, once booked, requires guests to keep the door wide open to the rest of the pub? A bar that, upon approach, treats you to a glare from the bar staff, followed by a detailed lecture on the importance of bringing the proper identification papers? One can expect all this and more at the King's Arms, which takes an innovative, unfriendly approach to hospitality. Perhaps the days of a warm welcome are over. I, for one, rather enjoyed being berated by a man resembling an aardvark. Would certainly recommend.

The King's Arms in Oxford, located at 40 Holywell Street, is one of the city’s most historic and beloved pubs. Founded in 1607, it has long been a gathering place for students, locals, and visitors alike, creating an atmosphere that combines Oxford’s scholarly charm with a warm, lively pub environment. It’s situated conveniently near the heart of the university and some of its iconic colleges, including the Bodleian Library, making it a favorite spot for university students, professors, and tourists. Inside, the pub boasts classic decor, including dark wood paneling, low-beamed ceilings, and snug corners that evoke a sense of timeless English tradition. Known for its selection of cask ales, the King's Arms offers a variety of beers from local and regional breweries, along with an excellent menu of traditional pub fare. The outdoor seating area is especially popular during the warmer months, allowing patrons to enjoy views of Oxford's charming architecture while socializing. The King's Arms is also steeped in history; it has been a hub for academic discussion and debate over centuries, frequented by scholars and even notable figures associated with Oxford. Today, it still retains that academic spirit while offering a cozy, welcoming atmosphere for everyone who visits.

Location wise, it's right in the heart of Oxford campus, so you get a mixture of students & locals & tourists in there which is lovely. Now, I've been to this pub on and off for several years and have always had somewhat good experiences, but today I was utterly disgusted to the point where I felt sick. The male bathroom is quite literally filled with mould all over the place, especially the ceiling and to call it disgusting would be an understatement - it was a hell hole. I'd say it was the most disgusting pub I've been to in my whole life, not exaggerating here. How this pub operates with such hygiene standards is beyond shocking to say the least.

I’ve always been a loyal customer of Cafe Nero, more speculation at the High Street store, where I’m consistently welcomed with warm and friendly service. I’ve also occasionally visited the Gloucester Green branch and have generally been satisfied with the service there as well. I’m based in Oxford and commute to Bicester for work via train. This morning I made a detour to Gloucester Green specifically for your Luxury White Chocolate Mocha, which I love. Upon ordering, I mentioned to the male staff member that other stores usually fill the drink to the top. I wasn’t complaining—just pointing out the difference in service. He responded politely, but the female staff member nearby scoffed and laughed, then went on to explain why they “can’t” do that. I clarified again that I wasn’t arguing, just sharing feedback. Unfortunately, my order was then made incorrectly—I received a Luxury Hot Chocolate instead. I returned to the store and joined the queue. The male staff member was kind and apologetic, admitting he misheard and offered to remake the drink, which I appreciated. However, the female staff member—now at the front—looked at me with visible irritation. When I explained the mistake, instead of acknowledging it or apologising, she accused me of placing the wrong order. Her attitude was rude, defensive, and unnecessarily combative. This experience left a very negative impression on me. I typically don’t leave reviews, especially as I’ve consistently received great service from your brand. But this interaction completely shifted my perception. Customer service should always reflect courtesy and professionalism—sadly, her behaviour did not. This is customer service, and what I experienced this morning was the opposite of what should be achieved. Instead of starting my day on a positive note, I left feeling disrespected. I didn’t anticipate that popping in for a coffee to kickstart my morning would become such a negative encounter.
