Costa in Reading

Terrible para Costa. Café se han quedado sin chispas, luego tienen la audacia de cobrar 60 p por una pequeña cantidad de crema. Las nuevas máquinas sin contacto no son muy buenas y el pastel estaba mal hecho. El café no era el mejor y el servicio no era genial en general. No se me ocurre una experiencia peor en Costa.

Terrible service. As someone who has worked in a cafe, I’d never speak to a customer the way Xati spoke to me. Very upsetting and unfortunate.

Recientemente visité Costa Caversham después de la renovación y tuve una experiencia fantástica! El café es consistentemente genial, y el servicio era de primera categoría. También me impresionó lo limpio y acogedor que estaba el espacio. Se hizo un ambiente muy agradable para disfrutar de mi bebida. Sin duda volveré por más! Lo recomiendo encarecidamente!

I absolutely love visiting Costa Coffee in Caversham! The recent renovation has really elevated the ambiance – it’s now a perfect spot to work quietly or catch up with friends. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going the extra mile to make customers feel at home. What impresses me most is how they remember their regular customers and their preferred coffee orders – it’s such a personal touch! Every time I visit, they deliver the exact coffee just the way I like it. Great service, great atmosphere!

I had a coffee this morning in Costa coffee caversham the store manager make very good flat white in high stander .

Looks like its had a bit of a refurb recently. Good sized coffee shop. Great team, friendly and efficient. Quick service. Food and drink good. Only let down is I can never connect to the wifi for some reason

Caversham Costa has had a complete refurbishment and looks a lot fresher.

Costa coffee franchise, accepts Costa loyalty card but not American Express like other locations.

Ordered food and a drink - only a drink delivered. No communication from the provider

missing 3 items for a total of £10. chocolate muffins, croissants and twist pastries

Carmel and Jenny are an impressive part of a great team. A bustling branch undermined by another app failure, my turn this time. The app failed to pick up my free drink reward. It then lost the reward. Carmel and Jenny had to work hard to save the sale, as if this team wasn't busy enough. Costa drinks products are generally poor value so relies heavily on it's staff and their customer service. This team really delivers.

I use this shop weekly, the staff are always friendly and welcoming and also remember my order

Met-up with a former neighbor who seemed to know the staff quiet well and who were friendly and helpful. Had a couple of coffee's. Windows are well insulated and virtually no outside noise despite the heavy traffic right outside.

Cold coffee, glasses not clean, staff Don't have nice way to communicate with customers.

I’ve just ordered 3 different food items and only received a drink, I’m furious no receipt attached to the bag and the driver has just told me that he was only given one bag at Costa ,this has now happened on multiple occasions, and I’m irritated I waited for food when I could have gone out some where just for it to now show up again. Never ordering for just eat ever again!

I did not get any of my food that I ordered. Just the drinks.

First order missed 7 of 8 items, yes, I only got my drink, second order charged me the full amount , delivered half the food with a nice little msg on the receipt saying they only had half the order in stock, so I’m out of pocket twice until they grant my refunds in a week and the one tuna panini I did get was only half filled. A phone call from them would have saved me so much hassle. I tried to call them but got “this Costa call service is permanently closed” and the shop didn’t pick up. :(

I only received the 2 drinks. The 3 other items I payed for never came.

It's a bit run down and now very clean looking, it needs a refresh.

Cappuccino was middle of the road but a bit expensive.

I went there this morning I asked for hot vanilla latte and the give me just latte and wen I went back there to tell them that I didn’t asked for that the told me the not gonna give me another one very good stuff !!

Great coffee and great food & other drinks, and great service but unfortunately, * the atmosphere was made dull due to various tables uncleared and clutter of empties all over. * main toilets closed and the disabled toilets were smelly, wet floor and with paper litter.

I have used Costa for a few years now and I won’t be using them again until they know how to make a proper cappuccino hardly ever frothy even when asking for a dry one 🙄always asking for extra hot but very rarely get it extra hot called in today Sunday 21st January and the place was filthy nobody bothering to clear tables

-Stale food -Flies everywhere -Overpriced - Not great Wifi - Toasties/ hot food good other then that cakes and pastries where stale and dry. -Not the best cleanliness

Menu offers drinks which are not available due to missing ingredient or barrister is not willing to make more complicated drink. Tropical mango bubble frappe

Place needs to fumigated, the place has a problem with loads of flies, that fly straight at you so you have to keep hitting them away,

Ok when you’re standing in the queue waiting to be served, glance up at the ceiling and marvel at all the dead (and alive) flies on the ceiling. They are everywhere! Why you’d want to eat anything here is beyond me. Just look up and see how many there are on the ceiling. It’s pretty disgusting really.

The only problem here for the last few weeks but especially today was tiny flies. On the ceiling above the serving area thousands of them and then when your trying to eat and drink they are around you. There is obviously a problem here but it's a health and safety issue, quite a few people were bringing this up with the staff, it needs sorting otherwise they will be closed down as health and safety officials will turn up at the door. I love it here but this needs action!

There were flies all over the ceiling most dead but there were living flies flying around the shop as well as on the displayed food. The lady who served me and my friend was also very rude once she’d served us and was muttering about us.

The ceiling was covered in so many flies and they were all over the food and trapped in the sealed cakes which is extremely unhygienic. One employee was attempting to hide whilst eating a sandwich and then immediately went to make drinks without washing her hands. Is this place really worthy of a 5 star hygiene rating??

A huge shout-out to Mariola, a lovely, friendly and helpful barista who pointed out that I had 30% off food on my Costa app that expired that day. Mariola went above and beyond. 😊

Very bad service. Very bad coffee. Nothing else to say.

Caversham Costa opening times state that they close at 6pm. However, after standing waiting for over 5 minutes to be served at 4.50pm staff member turned to me and said they were not taking any more orders as they were closing! Over an hour early. So once again I'll miss out on my reward cake. I was not pleased 😩😩

I will never use this service ever again. I had no problem with the food or the delivery. Just the fact they failed to bring my whole order. They would not refund the delivery and service fee so I could order the rest of my meal without paying both again.

Coffee is OK, staff are excellent.

Drinks are well made but the lack of gluten free options is now quite disappointing.

Very bad drinks. Ive ordered through uber eats a few times and every time either my lattes or coffees have been so disgusting and horrible. The baristas need training on how to make coffee! Wasting peoples hard earned money and we can’t even enjoy a decent drink.

Come here almost everyday, great staff and coffee amazing.

This branch is one of there bigger outlets. with plenty of space to sit down, inside and out. Located within Caversham Centre opposite the Library. Costa Coffee has 2 accessible toilets and plenty of wall sockets dotted around the café. The customer service is great, and the staff will bring your order to the table, if requested.

This is my regular Costa, going before I start work. The morning staff are really lovely people. Teddy and Franco are always cheerful and are quite a good double act. When people get on well, it makes for a great welcoming atmosphere. Tamara and Leah are also great. The coffee is lovely, as you would expect from a Costa. During the pandemic, the enormous outside (covered) seating area was a real lifesaver. It sounds silly, but it helped make lockdown more bearable as it was a tiny bit of normality. I occasionally have a croissant, heated up and with jam, which is a good accompaniment to the coffee. I also choose this place when catching up with friends as it’s so welcoming. I thoroughly recommend this Costa to you. They do get busy at some times during the day, but they handle it well. Thanks, Jonathan

Slightly slower than normal service but good coffee

I don’t know how costa are able to make wifi so slow in 2023, but they manage it. So if you’re coming to work or use the internet, don’t bother, it’s a massive waste of time and money.

Slow service, dirty, noisy and poor coffee. I paid over £4 for a hot chocolate. Other cafes in Caversham are better. Other than location, I dont understand why anyone goes to Costa these days.

Far too noisy. Cut out the background music. Children running around are a health and safety risk and parents should be told.

The coffee is awful, undrinkable! But my kid loves the marshmallows, the staff are usually very friendly despite being slow, the cakes are sometimes ok but usually dry, the toasties are edible. There's plenty of seating. There are two toilets, so one is usually usable, relatively clean, and possibly has toilet paper. A last resort in my opinion.

Its nice to see a place busy with people people on a Sunday morning but the queue to be served was long and people were walking out before they were served, and this isn't the first time. We waited, but the coffee when it arrived was very weak, particularly the latte. The staff were very busy - maybe they need more staff at peak times.

A really friendly place to go for a coffee, lots of regulars, plenty of seating, lovely staff. Excellent coffee, lovely cakes and snacks, I go there most days.

Just another costa coffee, nothing bad but nothing exceptional either.

don't you dare to say that the cream is missing from the latte and the gingerbread!!! let me just say the fried bread that came after 20 minutes!!! you and the whole family will be offended... and threatened that you will never set foot in the cafe again.

It was a little busy, therefore a bit slow. Perhaps one extra Might be a possibility if there's room for four people serving.

Lovely atmosphere. There was a queue waiting to get drinks but the staff were super friendly. Drinks tasted lovely 😍 they even made a milky one for my son. He loved it

A busy coffee shop, a bit cold and draughty near the doors that are open a lot, which spoils the atmosphere.

i ordered 3 items and they didnt have 2 of our items as it had sold out so instead of ringing and letting us know they just brought one of them and not the other 2 and just hoped we wouldnt ring them and say anything. a bit stupid of them as they could of just rang me and asked if i wanted anything else instead like every restaurant/cafe would do.

Staff need customer service training

I can't believe how one of your staff members spoke yesterday 3nd November not telling me who the manager is and saying he's in charge I always order on line walk in and pick up his attitude was aggressive. I will be in touch with head office.

Won't use again...Wanted to charge me double price for a cup of tea as I had the audacity to ask for two bags in my tea. Never used to charge!!! Apparently a new management policy. I would recommend checking your bill!!!!...Such a shame as I used this coffee shop a lot for business meetings. Can't wait for Starbucks to open up in Caversham now.

Staff are nice here. Just need to get rid of the till screen to make it easier for the taller customer and communication.

Great local place to meet up with friends.

When you order and pay for a large coffee, you expect to receive a large coffee. Not one which is 65% full. When I challenged this with the 3 men behind the counter, they didn’t seem to understand the issue. They said I could have more water. I told them this would just make the drink weaker and I’d need extra shots to go with it. They told me this would cost me more! The three staff, lined up and smirking, seemed baffled by the simple point of wanting a full cup of coffee, not one only partially filled. They said it was the same in all Costas. Later, one came over, told me that all other customers were happy to pay for a full cup and receive only 65%! He agreed to give me another shot. Quite why this couldn’t therefore have simply been done at the start, without the need for such a farce, I do not know. Later still, one of the other staff told me it was a franchise and so this was why customers didn’t get the same standard of drink as in other Costas. So it isn’t the same in all Costas then! This place was once very busy at 17:00 with mums with their kids or friends meeting for a catch-up. Today, it was really quiet. This speaks volumes.

Coffee tasted bad but I guess it is down to your liking

I want a refund as I ordered an ice tea and it wasn't delivered. The deliverer had gone before I could call him back

I didn’t get my drink how difficult is it to leave it at the door £11.39 for two coffees and he or she couldn’t leave them at the door

If you order something from the app that they don’t sell, they actually get quite angry with you, and won’t give you your money back. They think you should know in advance what they’ve ran out of. Very strange.

Order of two items, missed one of them.

Every time I've been here the staff have been very abrasive and the coffees always a let down.

So disappointed with Costa at Caversham today. The person taking our order added an extra drink and did not even repeat my order, I was served hot chocolate with out any cream or marshmallow when asked the staff was so rude and just dropped a swirl of cream in the hot chocolate like they were doing me a favour. To top it off another staff took over to refund the extra drink . And she was so aggressive and rude towards me. I think Costa you need to train your staff to be polite. I’m a regular at Costa , this will be my last visit here.

Good value quick efficient service

Good Americano coffee but the almond slice was not as tasty and moist as usual; I suspect cheaper (inferior) ingredients are now being used to cut costs - but not the price of course. Also, I wanted to pay cash but they insisted I use a card, I believe notes are still legal tender in this country.....

Costa never fails ! Always amazing coffee! Although today they had no caramel so I opted for a chocolate frappe instead which actually was a nice change.

I genuinely have never witnessed RUDE staff like it! Overcharged me twice, I had to check the bank to get a refund, the whole thing was awful with no apology. Then when I was sitting having my coffee and some guy speaking in a foreign language giving s*** to the staff. Awful experience

The staff at this costa were perfect, always on the ball and getting perfect i coffee. I have a special coffee single macchiato in a double cup with flat white milk and always turns out perfectly always made just by Charlie. She engages with all of the customers being very helpful and kind. If someone is having a bad day Charlie always turns it around.

A very busy Costa in the heart of Caversham, pleasant surroundings with outside seating, seating and table's are clean. Service can be slow during busy times if you don't mind the wait, I had a medium latte which is always good, and a slice of Lemon and Blueberry Cake which was very good

Not everything was delivered or cut

It took an hour to receive my order, when reported it to just eat they were rude they said patience is a virture . Extremely annoyed

Ordered two lattes two different milks as I have a allergy . When lattes came the cups weren't marked so I couldn't drink it
