The Old Greenhouse

Fishbourne, Chichester, 45-60£
22/10/2018: Another amazing day . We never stop learning Freshly cooked soup in the woods and a fabulous lunch . Thank you!
01/10/2018: What a delightful evening with amazingly prepared food. We will never forget this special evening with such a charming knowledgable chef! The steak main course was unbelievable! Followed by a trio of delicious puddings ! Worth every penny! You will not be disappointed! Thank you Nick for looking after us so well and making our evening fun and entertaining..

Midhurst, Chichester, <20£
20/10/2018: Just what a Café should be. Friendly staff working as a team, home made cakes and other dishes excellent vfm. Midhurst seems to be struggling a bit with banks closing and empty shops but this café was a ray of sunshine on a wet day.
05/10/2018: I've grown to love this place and Caroline and her team are so welcoming and positive. I hope so much that this business has not changed hands as today there was a very ' in your face' chap who seemed to be managing. I have no wish to be called 'Darling' twice when paying and even less impressed with the 'hide the evidence' line when I said no to a receipt. This cafe has a reputation for a homely. community feel and not a place where banter is inappropriate, and not needed. The impression I left with was someone trying way to hard to impress and it was so unnecessary. The quality of the food, the cleanliness and feel of the place speaks for itself. I have no wish to offend the gentleman in question, clearly service is important to him but it was not the Fitzcanes culture...... that's all.

The Woodmancote Pub

Westbourne, Chichester
12/11/2018: I have written several reviews on The Woodmancote, if you have not taken me up on going for a visit, you don't know what you are missing. They cook the best Sunday roast ever, with lots of choice, I always go for the pork belly, scrummy. This pub is family orientated and also dog friendly. Sunday dinner after 17.00pm is £16.00 for two. We also go during the week sometimes for a small plate meal in the afternoon, well worth a try. You won't be disappointed. There is always something going on in this quirky village pub. Go, meet the lovely staff, Mel and Terry always make you feel welcome. We love it.
09/11/2018: Wow what a wonderful place. Love the fact you are given a choice of where you want to sit. So many dining rooms wonderful food and efficient staff. My friends had told them it was my birthday and I had to wear the customary birthday Crown. Good fun place xx

Midhurst, Chichester
16/10/2018: Really nice deli/cafe with lovely staff and an interesting array of foods for sale. Quite small and seating a little hard but overall a nice experience. Small menu with very nice sandwiches. We will return.
16/10/2018: Found Comestibles purely by accident while wandering along the streets of Midhurst. Stopped for coffee and a sandwich and so glad we did. Sandwiches with generous fillings served with crisps and salad and a cafetière of the most delicious coffee. Clean and comfortable with excellent service.

Crab & Lobster

Sidlesham, Chichester
12/11/2018: Used to visit when it was a pub selling fresh crab sandwiches. How it has changed. Now a top quality restaurant mainly fish, but well prsented by attentive staff. Wish the wine was not so expensive but that is the general rule in this area. A very gentle birthday lunch
10/11/2018: We celebrated our 6th month anniversary at crabs and lobster and were quite disappointed with the food. I had octopus and Selsey crab and they were both plain and didn’t taste anything. Wouldn’t say that was a Michelin star restaurant experience though it was expensive (£150 for 2 included tips). Definitely won’t come back here again

Drift-In Surf Cafe

East Wittering, Chichester
13/11/2018: After a windy cold walk on the beach we had the most amazing soup and sandwiches. Lovely friendly staff and even treats for the puppy. Will defiantly be returning
06/11/2018: We were passing through so relied on Google to find us somewhere nice for a light lunch. We were not disappointed. The woman serving us was about as good as it gets. She was delightful and was able to advise helpfully on vegan options. We had some delicious sandwiches, with bread as thick as we wanted – in our case, very! I would happily return and can certainly recommend it to others.

The Cafe by Lucy Armstrong Chocolates

East Wittering, Chichester, <20£
31/10/2018: A lovely little gem of a cafe. We had the waffles which were delicious. Going back to try another topping!
01/09/2018: I have been in the Cafe a few times, but was a bit surprised to see one of the staff serve a customer food. Play with that customers dog and not bother to wash her hands afterwards.

The Deck

Southbourne, Chichester
10/11/2018: Breakfast, lunch, dinner or just amazing looking and tasting cocktails. Very friendly and accommodating staff now with the added appeal of a gorgeous golden retriever puppy. Always looked after very well and can’t fault anything. Delicious food and wonderful views. Highly recommended.
07/11/2018: We have visited here for lunch several times but this was our first evening visit and it did not disappoint. Lively atmosphere and good food and a very nice bottle of wine.

Half Moon Inn

Wisborough Green, Chichester
28/10/2018: The manager of the pub Louise was amazing and her attention to detail organising a special evening for my husband’s 40th birthday was second to none. On the night the staff were exceptional and an execellent evening was had by all- wonderful food, wine and great atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
15/10/2018: This was our second visit with friends. Staff very friendly and efficient. Lovely atmosphere. However we were disappointed by the quantity (not quality) of the food from our previous visit. The menu was very limited and even more so for myself as I am gluten and lactose intolerant. On our previous visit the chef went out of his way to accomodate me. Also on our last visit we were given extra dishes of vegetables. My roast beef dinner had two small roast potatoes, three very small chunks of carrot and a teaspoon of red cabbage. We had all travelled long distances to meet at your restaurant and we all arrived home hungry.

The Seal Pub & Restaurant

Selsey South, Chichester
28/10/2018: Visited for an early dinner with the family just before their halloween party.
17/10/2018: You can tell this place has a strong head chef. The menu is great, with some really good ideas for dishes. Prices reasonable. However the front of house team needs some motivation I think. They all seem disinterested and bored. Didn’t really get the table service we expected. No check backs, no 2nd drinks offered. Shame really.

The Eastgate

Chichester South, Chichester
07/11/2018: Went to a DJ gig for there for first time in years. Beer was expensive and so ate my £20 more quickly than I thought. Near the end of the night I ordered a half pint then realised I was 15p short. Offered to pay by card but I didn't meet their minimum spend so asked some locals standing at the bar if could have 15p. Bar lady piped up saying I wasn't allowed to ask people for money. Locals refused to help and so my drink was poured away. As I walked away a bit upset by the lack of community spirit the locals started laughing and trying to high-five the bar lady. I was completely gobsmacked.
29/10/2018: Popped in here for lunch on our way back from town. I must say we were very pleased with the service and the food. Good traditional Pub Grub and very sensibly priced! What we like about The Eastgate is that it has kept that real pub values. It is well worth a visit just for a beer or an evening out!

Duke of Cumberland

Easebourne, Chichester
02/11/2018: Had heard so much about this pub so chose to try it out for a birthday dinner with friends.
30/10/2018: Excellent food, friendly and accommodating staff and a lovely setting with beautiful views and gardens. What more could you ask?

Waves Cafe and Sandwich Bar

Selsey South, Chichester
25/10/2018: Lovely food - Had a breakfast here - the staff are friendly and they have a garden at the back - the restaurant is very clean and I often visit here at it also has a lovely atmosphere - yes will go again...
21/10/2018: First time here today. Very impressed, there were 6 of us and everyone loved their food. Definitely coming back soon

The Royal Oak Lagness

Chichester North, Chichester
19/10/2018: Great food, very welcoming and friendly service. Food is good value, and always very tasty. This is one of our favourite pubs to go to, and never disappoints. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone to try, highlight for us is the steak & ale pie.
13/10/2018: This is the second time I have been here recently and have not been disappointed on either occasion.

The Anchor Bleu

Bosham, Chichester, <20£
31/10/2018: Great location but when dark not really significant as the whole area is lacking in light / views etc - during the day things must be marvellous however
31/10/2018: When we were eventually served by a barman that didn’t know how to make a Bloody Mary, seemed a little odd. We ordered some chips and took our drinks outside to enjoy the fantastic view. The Bloody Mary’s din’t last that long, we looked around no chips to be seen.
