The Old Greenhouse

Fishbourne, Chichester, 45-60£
05/02/2019: We booked for one of Nick's special lunches last Sunday (2nd February 2019) which started off with mouth-watering prawns on blinis followed by roast chicken with all the trimmings including an excellent assortment of fresh vegetables all washed down by an excellent house merlot. A trio of yummy miniature desserts and coffee rounded off the meal. The atmosphere was warm and friendly - Nick is an excellent host. A most enjoyable experience - we shall definitely be returning
25/01/2019: Not only was the excellent meal up to Nick's usual high standard and totally delicious, but the extra touches and ambiance, combined with Nick's affable humour made it a perfect birthday celebration.

The Woodmancote Pub

Westbourne, Chichester
14/02/2019: Wow what a fantastic meal at a great pub. I really recommend going there. The staff are really friendly and a great location.
13/02/2019: Visited this pub at lunchtime on Sunday 10th. It was, as is often the case on a Sunday, full of families enjoying the great food that is available.

Midhurst, Chichester, <20£
04/02/2019: Lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. I often get a frothy latte and sit outside people watching. Cakes look lovely too but I try to resist.
11/12/2018: Called In for lunch en route to Tunbridge. Best toasties for many a long year. Wish I lived locally.

Midhurst, Chichester
07/02/2019: If I lived nearer I would definitely live in here. What a great 'proper' cafe - delicious home cooked food, fresh coffees and great selection of biscuits and deli bits. It serves the best Quiche ever, so delicious; and I cook at home but cannot get anywhere near this. All the other lunches look good but as it is a treat for me to get here it has to be quiche!
04/02/2019: A very interesting Deli run by very friendly people offwering a wide range of delicious comestibles with the addition of lovely food and drinks in a warm friendly atmosphere

Drift-In Surf Cafe

East Wittering, Chichester
13/12/2018: I had the most delicious peanut butter and dark chocolate granola and yoghurt and my boyfriend loved his spicy Italian sandwich. Fantastic service too! Would thoroughly recommend.
26/11/2018: Happy atmosphere, good, interesting food with enormous portions, friendly, helpful staff and great to be near the beach. Cafe drifts into the neighbouring shop

The Seal Pub & Restaurant

Selsey South, Chichester
07/02/2019: Have not been to Seal for sometime didn’t feel like cooking so booked table.Seated quickly, decide on roast beef as our main I had the terrine for a starter my wife had the prawn cocktail both were very good. Our mains were good with a ginormous Yorkie. One small comment perhaps gravy could be served separately as both meals were slightly drowned in gravy. Will definitely be returning. The
05/02/2019: Visited here today Tuesday 5th Feb, we've eaten here many times before, when visiting Selsey. The food has always been good, But, I must say today was exceptional. Probably the best we've had yet! The service was excellent, the young man who was one of the servers was equally excellent. As all the staff are. The owners have a great team. Thank you.

Crab & Lobster

Sidlesham, Chichester
06/02/2019: The staff were welcoming and very friendly. Our room was warm and comfortable. The Crab and Lobster was in a splendid position and on a very quiet road. However, when the guests arrived in the room above ours, (we were in room 1), it was a nightmare. We could hear them talking and hear every heavy footstep they took. Our peace was shattered. Still off to dinner. It was a Sunday night and apart from one other table, we were alone, which we never mind at all. The welcome in the restaurant was again, good. My husband ordered prawn and crab cocktail, which was basic, very small and very little sauce. Disappointing. I ordered a mushroom and chestnut pate to be served with pickled mushrooms. There were only three small pickled mushrooms and the bread served was left over from lunch time. The pate was tasteless and slightly slimy. Then the main course arrived. My vegan meal was very poor and looked as though it had been prepared a week ago. No taste, luke warm - a very tired looking plate of food. The chips my husband had with his steak were excellent, however! One bottle of wine, one coffee and one vanilla ice cream and a huge bill. Not value for money. Based on our experience we would not recommend a Sunday evening meal at the Crab and Lobster, and avoid Room 1! On a positive note, the room was spotlessly clean.
06/02/2019: This is a beautiful venue. Quality menu with excellent fish choices. There is a cosy log fire. As you would expect from the name there is an excellent choice of fish dishes and a good value multiple choice weekday lunch menu for about £20.It was quiet the day we went. The car Park is very small, might be a challenge at weekends!

The Deck

Southbourne, Chichester
14/02/2019: Wow! What can I say? Our first visit for lunch on Valentine's day...and I was so spoilt! We had a sharing platter of half a grilled lobster, buttery garlicky mussels and king prawns, crayfish, smoked salmon, a dressed crab and salad and yummy bread and garlic aioli to dip and eat with it. It was all super fresh, mostly *very* local and my husband had a terrific Shiraz G&T;, while I had a couple of glasses of lovely Prosecco.
14/02/2019: The food, restaurant and service was superb, it was a perfect way to celebrate our 26th Valentines night! I can't recommend The deck highly enough!

Half Moon Inn

Wisborough Green, Chichester
03/02/2019: The food was superb the beef cheek starter was Devine. The duck was cooked to perfection we will be back
02/02/2019: We are currently visiting the area and this pub was recommended to us by the people who own the place we are staying at. We brought our 2 year old daughter for an evening meal. The service we received was excellent and the waitress was very accommodating towards our daughter which was hugely appreciated. The children's meal was fantastic. She enjoyed the pulled pork and was refreshing to see a wholesome children's menu. Our meals were superb. I highly recommend the Duck whilst my husband raved about his beef cheek. We equally enjoyed our desserts. We used to live in Midhurst and have often commented on how we are spoilt with good restaurants in the area. We will now be adding this restaurant to our list of favourite places.

The Eastgate

Chichester South, Chichester
07/11/2018: Went to a DJ gig for there for first time in years. Beer was expensive and so ate my £20 more quickly than I thought. Near the end of the night I ordered a half pint then realised I was 15p short. Offered to pay by card but I didn't meet their minimum spend so asked some locals standing at the bar if could have 15p. Bar lady piped up saying I wasn't allowed to ask people for money. Locals refused to help and so my drink was poured away. As I walked away a bit upset by the lack of community spirit the locals started laughing and trying to high-five the bar lady. I was completely gobsmacked.
29/10/2018: Popped in here for lunch on our way back from town. I must say we were very pleased with the service and the food. Good traditional Pub Grub and very sensibly priced! What we like about The Eastgate is that it has kept that real pub values. It is well worth a visit just for a beer or an evening out!

Lanes End Cafe

Chichester North, Chichester
18/01/2019: It was cosy and friendly with efficient service and good plentiful food. The proprietess was very welcoming and hurried to complete our order. It is small with only a few tables but worth waiting for one.
13/12/2018: Absolutely super little cafe with the best ever cheddar and ham quiche, coleslaw and dressing, all home made and nice salad + a super brie and cranberry panini. Amazing value, charming people running it, not the easiest to find, but so well worth it when you do. This will be our 'go to' when we visit Chichester now.

Waves Cafe and Sandwich Bar

Selsey South, Chichester
10/02/2019: Honestly can not say a bad word about the food or the customer service at Waves, everyone is so welcoming and always smiling! I love the food in there too, it’s always my go to place in Selsey for food. I would highly recommended it to anyone!!
10/02/2019: What a great little cafe, service very quick and very good food . Easy to park nearby. Would recommend this place and call again

The Anchor Bleu

Bosham, Chichester, <20£
27/01/2019: After a great walk at Langley Vale which is close by, we were in need of a quick bite to eat. We were lucky to find a table and both enjoyed a Ploughman’s lunch, which was fresh. Not so keen that the pickle and coleslaw served in small paper pots. Bread fresh cheese tasty. Sat outside for a second drink. Amazing views and will warm in warmer weather when I’m sure the pub will be busy!

White Horse Inn

Westbourne, Chichester
25/12/2018: Friendly and easy going with good food. Almost at the centre of quaint Westbourne Village Fun, laughs, food, drinks and good times! Will go again next time we are in Westbourne!
31/10/2018: Can't believe I've not written a review of the White Horse before now! (And I'm not being bribed!)

the walnut tree

North Mundham, Chichester
27/01/2019: What an excellent venue for a family party of 45. Food was delicious, hot and all served on time and quickly. Mark and his staff are very attentive, friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to go again for some more yummy food from their extensive menu.
25/01/2019: We came as a lunch party of 38 and so knew we would challenge the kitchen. The main meals were all brought together hot and plenty of side portions of vegetables the food was all cooked beautifully. The fruit crumble and custard was exquisite not too sweet and real slices of fruit clearly not finished in the microwave Well done staff
