The Belvedere Arms in Windsor and Maidenhead

We had a celebratory lunch here with some friends. The quality of the food is very good and the service was excellent. I would not say this is particularly good value for money more a special occasion than a pub regular. It was very busy whilst we were there which is a good indication of how good it is but a table had a dog that was constantly barking all through our meal which really spoilt the occasion.

Very welcome staff, great diner, tasteful. The restaurant is well equipped with good furniture, nice ambient. Nothing to improve. This level of quality might be expensive, hope they will be able to keep it.

We went to the Christmas Day meal with the family thinking it was going to be a fantastic experience together. When we entered in the restaurant the lady of the fron desk wanst festive at all, instead very standard normal day service "have u got a name for your booking?" not even Merry Christmas, or welcome festive message at all! A bit strange! After we sat down they came to confirm again the name of the booked table, wich was strange as we gave it on the front desk to the lady standing there. We had 3 turkeys(1of them a child portion) and a beef wellington. My beef was overcooked(Well done), tough, 3 roast potatoes dry and defenatly these were not freshly cooked,same on the other plates with the roast potatoes. The table opposite us also complained about the roast potatoes. The vegetables came on the side with 4 parsnips, 4 carrots and 8 Brussels sprouts for 4 people. I asked the person who brought it over to us if there was anymore to come he said that's all we were going to get. Quite disappointed as we spent £400+ on a Christmas meal. I absolutely would not recommend to go to this place for a Christmas meal as our experience was an absolute disappointment.

Booked in for lunch a few days before Christmas, which for most restaurants normally means poor food and service. So more in hope than expectation ordered the pan fried scallops and turkey main. Scallops were perfectly cooked, turkey was moist and tasty, with great roasties and gravy. Service was impeccable and friendly - well done Belvedere Arms !

Great atmosphere. Service was brilliant. All staff members were very friendly and polite. I had an Asahi but it was a bit flat so I asked for a replacement pint. Nicole I think she is the manager did sort this problem out without any hasitation . Great night out overall. Thanks. We will be back.

Pleasant environment, some issues with food and service, but good overall. The mains were nicely presented, but rather minimalist. Quite overpriced. The starters/sides were tiny and pretty uninteresting. Beer was extremely expensive. The dining area is very comfortable and spacious and the cosy lounge with fire was great. Some of the staff are quite young and a bit slack.

Lovely pub with great food. Great after a walk around the lake. Parking is free if you use the pub so a great place to stop

Visited twice in the last week.. staff are amazing and so accommodating nothing is too much trouble.. Nicole is fabulous and is running a really good team making your experience very enjoyable .. the food was great and service top class !

My friend and I went for a bottomless brunch at the weekend. It was brilliant! The menu was substantial and food delicious, and the drinks were very tasty too! I'm usually not a fan of a passionfruit martini, but they're one is beautiful! And the prosecco was free flowing - i.e. by the bottle rather than the glass! 🍾 And the staff were lovely and super friendly. Very nice pub, I'll definitely be back again!

We had a great meal last night, sitting in the nice cosy bar area. Our waitress Annie was great. She was welcoming and friendly and really looked after us. The food was all lovely - especially the sea bass. It would just be nice to have a few more options for vegans, especially in the desserts section!

This place cannot be beaten for atmosphere, service, food, and value for money. This was our first time sampling their Sunday roast menu, and we were blown away by the quality. We have come to exodct very high standards from this place, standards to which they always manage to exceed.

Spent the evening here with my family and it was so lovely, atmosphere was lively, food was delish (I highly recommend the fish and chips) and the service was just wonderful, Alice made us feel so welcome and was so accommodating with all my allergies, will definitely be back soon!

Had a wonderful evening at this delightful pub/restaurant. I had the pork belly and my partner had the chicken. Both were delish and presented beautifully. Service and cocktails were fantastic too. Highly recommend this place.

Posh pub food - very nicely done with some interesting twists (cheese and truffle filled doughnuts may not sound good but try one…) - the burger was very good indeed.

We had to wait an hour and ten minutes to get our starters and only got them because we asked. I was bought the wrong main course and when I finally got the correct meal it was barely warm. Other guests were also having to chase employees to get their food after a very long wait.

Very mixed feelings today after a looked-forward-to visit for a friend’s birthday lunch with a walk in Great Windsor Park before and after. Lovely looking pub with different areas to relax in. Very sumptuously furnished which may not suit everyone’s tastes and has a lovely outdoor spot in the sun. Had to open my own bottle of bubbles as the lady behind the bar struggled, and also had to ask for champagne glasses rather than the wine glasses offered. When we did sit down to eat the kitchen refused to swap potatoes for a few greens. That’s not a major issue but when prompted whether they would swap out for an allergy there were only shrugs. Food was mixed. Amazing salt and pepper squid but it was too salty and whilst I like salt and didn’t want to return it I now regret that decision. Hallumi fries - don’t bother for the portion size and beef croquettes had an outer layer that was more like a batter. The seabass looked good and friend said it was nice. As was the parfait. The 250ml glass of a certain rose on the menu was £20.50. I asked to confirm that as I thought it was a misprint. It was not. I had a quiet chuckle. The best value bubbly on the menu was English as the only champagne by the glass was from a well known brand which is below average at best. Cannot say I would go back.

Really lovely atmosphere and helpful staff. However, food was below average. The pork was tough and dry which we mentioned to staff, but no action was taken. Plus 2 x soggy scallops for 5 pounds extra seemed excessive. Other meals our group had were okay. It's a shame as it's a nice venue.

The biggest challenge with going to The Belvedere is you must rrmember to put you car reg into the computer, otherwise you will get a 100 quid bill! Food okay pub food, not the standard of a Gastro Pub, which we desperately need in the area. Service improved in the last 10yrs, a more mature aporoach, better than the old days where students chin wagged and could not be bothered to serve you!

I came in today for lunch with my family the food was amazing service is amazing. I have the sticky chicken for starters and the dirty burger for mains. The food was made quick and it tasted amazing.

We have just left having had a meal for 4 of us for our friend’s bday. So so good. My wife has some very specific dietary requirements, and our waitress Olivia was amazing, going above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble. The food was first class, the service was great, and they even dimmed the lights to make it that bit more cosy. Highly recommend.

I would go back again. My steak was absolutely well cooked. Great Service. I only had main course and a soft drink.

Arrived late on a dark evening, did not see the signs which I do not believe to be well lit that state you are charged as customers to park and enter the establishment so I have to take responsibility however I genuinely can't believe a pub would charge paying customers to park in the pub car park, utterly astounded and have never experienced this before, will not be returning.

Initial impressions were good. Staff were friendly upon arrival. Menus were swiftly provided and drinks orders taken. Food came out quick. My first critique would be that if roast dinners come with “Bottomless Gravy” as per your menu that a gravy boat or equivalent is provided. No additional gravy was provided which was a shame. Once we finished our meal it took a while for plates to be cleaned. When they were taken away we were asked if we would like anything else to which we said no. It then took 20 mins to get somebodies attention to get the bill. Staff looked over numerous times and made no attempt to check the table etc. it then took a further 10 mins to get the bill paid due to technical issues with their card machine. Overall, a decent meal in a lovely pub let down slightly by the service. If the above were addressed, we would be more than happy to return.

Lovely hidden gem. We were very pleased with our first dinner experience. Warm welcoming hospitality from the beginning from lovely Nicoleta ( thank you ❤️) and not only as all the staff we kind, polite and keen to make you feel comfortable. All service was right in time, we never had any waiting feeling, starting from being seated going to ordering, being served, or when we asked for anything in between. Food was delicious, cocktails were perfect ( and I wanted to mention as it happened so often to order a cocktail and I received just a mix of liquids that was far away to impress me ). Thank you The Belvedere Arms team, we will definitely be back.

Alice recommended the Douro red wine which was delicious and went perfectly with the lamp rump, also very tasty. Great atmosphere and so glad we popped in for a bite to eat.

We went to the Belvedere Arms to celebrate my son finishing his masters. The food was really good, however the service was appalling. We note it was busy, however, after the dessert menus were left with us, it took 20 mins for an order to be taken and this was only done as my son went up to the hosting station. Further, the staff poorly communicated with one another meaning duplicates of drinks arrived at our table. The apology for the bad service was poor as we were told they prioritised other tables as they were ordering drinks and it was more profitable, nothing like true hospitality. Lastly, the bill was severely wrong and no apology was made. If you go to Belvedere Arms, the only arms that will be raised is for the attention of your server.

Lovely super delicious dinner, attentive service especially by Nicole who was amazing, spoiling us rotten making a special evening very special indeed thank you! X

With regret I am writing this review. I have gave the restaurant time to sort an issue that happened around 10 days now with no response that I was promised. My self and my partner went for dinner here one evening, we both had roast dinners and a couple of drinks. The food as always was great. However after finishing our drinks I asked for the bill which took around 15 minutes to come. I paid the bill in full and left a tip via Cash. Upon walking and entering my vehicle a member of staff came running out of the restaurant with a card reader demanding payment Infront of everyone out side of the restaurant. Not only was this so embarrassing branding us making it look as if we was trying to make off without payment, I was in my sign written vehicle with my business advertisement all over. I'm a local business and this could have such a negative impact on my future business! I waited in the car park for a short while after but no one came out to apologise or nothing for there wrong doing. It's Genuinely such a shame. I would always of recommended this place to all of my friends family and clients, however after this and not even receiving a apology unfortunately it will only go the other way now.

I had the pleasure of dining here for the first time today. The service was fantastic and the food was served very quickly. The food was beautifully presented and tasted even better. The staff and management were friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome. I’m looking forward to returning soon.

This place is a real hidden gem. Phenomenal food, wonderful welcoming service and more than reasonable prices. Perfectly situated for an afternoon stroll around Virginia Waters either before or after sustenance

The barman was friendly, so were the serving staff. The food is very mediocre, and there is very little effort with presentation.

Booked a table for 5 of us at 7.30pm, service was bad throughout the time we were in the restaurant, staff didn't seem to know what they doing or what certain drinks were took 4 attempts to get the correct order. Waitress pretty much threw plates on table when we finally got the meals after waiting over an hour and no smile... Real shame about service and atmosphere as the food itself was lovely.

Absolutely fantastic food and brilliant service from Olivia and the team. There were 17 of us for Mum’s 80th birthday and nothing was too much trouble. We were really looked after from start to finish. Thanks for making a memorable day so special.

What a lovely pub. Very welcoming. Jay our server, was great. He took our order down correctly (wanted some items removed from meals as didn't like them) checked back on us, if everything was ok. Food delicious, as always.

Some of the worst pub food we’ve ever eaten. I cannot believe this is a 4.5 on google. Kids chicken burnt Kids burger burnt. Adults fish and chips - fish over cooked, chips burnt where they’d been cooked and cooked again. Tartare sauce was mayonnaise with gherkins in it. Absolutely vile, honestly it was putrid. Crab starter was ok, but sourdough bread tasted a little state. Wine was really good and the staff were really nice. In all fairness they took off all the mains and discounted the wine. But we drove a long way to eat here. Never again.

We had a 3-course dinner in Belvedere Arms on New Year's day. I was blown away by how delicious and well-presented the dishes were. The chef deserves a lot of credit for his work. Service was impeccable with friendy and attentive staff. Our waitress, Maria, was really great. All in all, it was one of the best experiences we had with eating out post-Covid.

We had a Sunday roast here today, all of the food was amazingly delicious. We had the lamb and it was the best we have had, whilst dining out, in a long time. The service we received from Helen was excellent. Very helpful and made our visit a delight. We will be definitely coming here again.

Very poor service and near hostile reception. Sadly, I had to leave with my family. No body should ever be treated that way or accept to be so treated.

My apologies I hate leaving a negative however in this instance I thought that it was important. First things first my poor score with regards to the atmosphere was that there was none. Now this could be because of early arrival at 10.00am? However we appeared to be the only diners at this time and we did not get served our breakfast until 10.45am. Then the breakfasts themselves, poached eggs that were hard boiled certainly not runny or indeed as the photographs would suggest. Then the toast a real challenge to cut through. Coffee, would have been nice if it was hot, not instantly drinkable. A shame but had to be noted, sorry.

The place is so beautiful! Plenty of outside seating and also free parking . The staff is really polite and friendly. We were not fully impressed with the food though. It was 4 of us and we had 4 dishes. Seabass and lamb were good, but the chicken liver parfait and banana blossom not great at all. We were curious about the banana blossom but it is just deep fried small pieces full of oil. I would avoid this dish. Everything else spot on, especially the atmosphere in the garden on a sunny day with mojitoes. We will be back.
