I dine here in the evenings once or twice a week, usually after a days sailing from the adjacent marina. Staff are brilliant and always welcoming, pleasant and genuinely eager to please. The mangeress is kind, delightful and always eager to be welcoming and be friendly. The food is always excellent, reasonably priced and well presented. I would definitely recommend this resturant. Ps. The sunsets from the fully glazed window walls are amazing.

Food was lovely! Service from the barista’s and the waiters and waitresses outstanding. However the manager was very condescending and demanding to her staff and to us as customers which ruined the atmosphere. Great job to the team elements !

Very pleasant evening with tasty food and excellent service from Jan and Megan. The Chef's signature platter was a great choice.

I came here at the end of last year and it was absolutely awful and the manager at the time was so rude and was too busy flirting with drunk women to serve out drinks which we waited over 45 min for- I vowed never to come back. On a spur meet up I got told we were going in here and I feared the worst but it seems like there has been a whole shake up of staff and my experience today was amazing. Attentitive staff especially shout out to Sanjana who was very polite and informative when asking questions about dishes. Food was absolutely out of this world, all cooked to perfection and good sizes too. I’d like me you have been put off in the past due to the awful service from previous manager and waiters then give it another chance as I will be back again.

Very beautifully decorated restaurant. The gentleman serving my party of 8 was lovely but the time it took to prepare the food was much longer than expected. Unfortunately a lot of things on the menu were unavailable that some of my group had planned to order. I felt we were ridiculously overcharged for the portion sizes. I got the Grilled Salmon with salad and chips for £22+. My “salad’ was a tomato quarter and a tip of a grilled pepper and I could count my chips… I wish I had taken pictures but after anticipating the food to come out, I was hungry and was not inspired to get the camera out 😔 This is not to take away from the flavours - especially the baba ghanoush

I booked a table for date night with the mrs 31/07/24 food excellent but i find it to believe that i paid £25 for a meat lovers dish and recieved this to be honest i did expect more for my money but dont like to complain. Regards Steve

Awful food & service. As a Turkish Cypriote the food was not up to standard and makes a mockery of Turkish cuisine. The waitress couldn't even pronounce the names of the dishes on the menu without asking ME for help, what a joke. No authentic at all.

Very nice and spacious place . Friendly staff and amazing cocktails . It’s a must to try the garlic king prawns, chicken kofte, lamb shish, burgers, sharing meat platter and finish your meal with a tasty homemade Baklava. Vegetarian options also available .

I often get food from Babaseesh for lunch or after a workout. Each time I've gotten food, I've never been disappointed. Not only is it just great tasting food, as a gym goer, I highly recommend it for a post workout meal. You feel great afterwards!

This has been open a while now so gave it a go.. very expensive for what u get £25 for a mixed shish, lamb was Luke warm too. Server had been robotically scripted trained . Said be over in two mins for drinks I be back in 5 mins for food . No checks on us throughout, sat finished a while only 3 tables in restaurant at 7.15 on a Thurs.. cleared plates back 5 mins for desserts we didn't stay as not an enjoyable evening. They used to take tastecard and are now pulling out of that ..bad move u need the discount to get customers at those prices...

Staff need to smile, service is very slow and they need to know more about the food they are selling

Completely disappointed. Original delivery time was 19:00 but continual delayed hour+. When finally ready it turned up cold & had to microwave it all to heat it up (except the salad). large portion & flavour was good on the veg moussaka & aubergine dish but the wait & the temperature was a real let down. The driver is not to blame as once it eventually left the restaurant driver got to us in 5 mins. If the restaurant is too busy with dine in customers then shouldnt take online orders poor show

We were asked to pay a deposit for a table of 15 on bank holiday Monday @ 5pm… this was to ensure enough staff were on the rota to cover the booking as normally they don’t get busy until 7pm. After 10 mins of being seating we were asked for our drinks order…. This unfortunately was also the last time in the 2 hours in the restaurant we were asked if we wanted drinks…the wait between the disappointing starters and mains coming out was about an hour… the kids were starving, the adults were frustrated, ALL other tables in the restaurant were complaining about service and speed - the atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable…. Sides ordered for our table and one of the mains for our party never arrived. Food was below average, not an apology in sight, just excuses - a horrible experience.

The service was poor:- 1. They forgot to make the meals that had been ordered; 2. The food they did remember to make came out late; and 3. Not once was my table asked if the food was ok or if we wanted more drinks. The atmosphere was not good, as another table had the same difficulty we did and eventually had to walk out. The staff took lack of accountability for their actions.

We had the sharing platter, and the chicken shish was very nice, the lamb shish was flavoursome but a bit tough and the doner meat was terrible - tough, gristly and with a funky smell. Starters were okay if unspectacular, hummus and calamari being the best of a mediocre bunch. Service was a mix of ridiculously over enthusiastic when at the table, and suddenly blind and deaf when standing at the bar talking to their mates. Which there was plenty of time to do as the restaurant was disappointingly empty, a maximum of five tables during a fine Saturday lunchtime - although perhaps this is unsurprising given the price of the meal, which wouldn’t have been out of place in central London.

The price point for the food portion is high. Taste wise, the food is just okay. We have been to several Turkish restaurants, and I wouldn't rate this as high on my list. The customer service was okay. Please consider including complimentary bread like other Turkish restaurants, rather than it being paid for.

Did not receive a salad with my order so very disappointed!

This is not a Turkish restaurant at all and they have not one Turkish member of staff and it is really obvious when you see the food, the staff do not even know what things are made of or called, a customer asked what Bulgur is and the manager replied that it is coucous, the restaurant has no Turkish flavours at all. Also the waiter bringing knives and forks to put in front of a 3 year old and a two year old is never a good idea. Not worth the money at all, if you are looking for a Turkish restaurant I suggest you give this one a wide birth. Oh and if anyone is doubting my judgement, I am actually Turkish myself. They offered me discount on the next bill but I would not even eat for free if offered, I think it’s offensive to actually call this a Turkish restaurant.

I am never never going to this place again!! We tried to get a table at this restaurant and we were told they were fully booked for 9 people despite there being only 5 ppl in the entire restaurant.. the shameless waitress that told us this had taken a decision that we could not eat there after taking a look at my 2 year. We walked away..I then called the restaurant 10 mins after and requested to book a table for 9 with 2, toddlers and the gentleman that picked up the phone immediately said we'd be able to come sit right away.. so I am calling out this lady as either being prejudice about my kid or just didn't like the look of us.. We hold most of our family dinners here and I will never visit this place again

Food was very nice, all had really good flavour and meat was tender and cooked perfectly. The portion sizes however are quite small. Charging the best part of a £5 for 4 tiny squares of thin bread is unreasonable! £51 for a mixed grill that had two skewers of shish, 8 wings, and some Donner is poor value for money imo. We left hungry and went Creams for dessert. Mandatory service charge is also not appreciated.

The stars are for the service. Ordered a mixed platter for £51 for two people. The portion size was very small. Calamari starter was hard and rubbery. The meat was very chewy. The rice an bulgar was bland and tasteless. I wouldn’t eat here again if you paid me. If you fancy a bite, go to mezze in Rochester or Taze in Chatham. Cheaper prices for bette food in bugger portions. Also £4.50 for a glass of apple juice is insane. If you are going to charge these prices, the food quality needs to match it. Very disappointed. No small cutlery for children either.

Freezing cold in there, the service was shocking , only brought out half starters had to ask for rest. No dips with bread or halloumi . Mains came left us sitting there with food no cutlery to eat it with, had to ask for some. The staff didn’t seem to no what they were doing. The chicken was lovely but the lamb was very chewy and hard so cldnt eat . Will not return came here when first open it was lovely the staff were amazing, will stick to the Maidstone one.

There was only us and another table so was very quiet. Not sure why as we had the lunchtime menu for £14.95 each, which was excellent. I had the chicken kebab and my husband had the Adana. Would recommend and will be back. Staff were friendly and helpful.

With very disappointed we ordered a mixed grill for 25 pound. The portion wasn't complete it was barley one and half skewers of meat. The chicken was fine but the lamb wasn't even half the portion it should be. Kebab is meant to be cubes of meat the lamb kebab was barely half a skewer as two to three of the pieces were cut so thin they were barely even a centimetre thick! The photos of food displayed on the company website as well as in all international kebabs all around the world are actual cubes of meat. Further more only a 1/4 piece slither of bread was included not even a whole pitta. The salad box was only half full. Skimping on every level 😔 Shame As Mediterranean people and food are famous for their generous nature this was the saddest version of a mixed grill I have ever seen. If you look at your local competitors like Taze and or Elakendro you will find their mixed grill is more than two skewers of meat as well as lamb chop, ribs, and two bountiful bowls of rice grains and salad plus a large oven bread. This was a joke I can't believe you charged me 25 for less meat and sadder salad than I could have got at a local kebab shop for 15

The service lets the food down. Despite not booking, we were seated quickly. Drinks and for order taken promptly, two of us were sharing a hummus starter, so nothing too taxing and that arrived quickly and was delicious. Then came the wait, so much so that the waiter who seated us, came and asked if we'd to had our food yet. Others who'd arrived after us had been served already. Granted it was only a half hour wait, but it was odd. After chasing it, it looked like our order was misplaced, but they got it ready and we eventually received it. The falafel was delicious, perfectly cooked. The two shish kebabs were also delicious, so good.. The vegetarian moussaka was tasty, but sadly a little lukewarm in the middle, so not ideal, but not a deal breaker. We were served by two people, sometimes asking the same things, but not always knowing the other one had asked, made it a bit disjointed. The food is great and so if they could sort out the service that would make the for a great meal out.

Visiting chatham and we were recommended to Babasheesh. Most definitely nit disappointed. Sahib was a was great.

Went here for my 30th birthday meal with my partner and was quite disappointed... the server knew it was my birthday and didn't make anything special at all... no cake no song nothing at all ... he also told us that the bulgar could be swapped for chips with our platter but came back 10 mins later saying we have to pay extra it can't be swapped and already been cooked.... he also didn't ask what size wine for my partner so assumed it was a large and told us he made the assumption after it's been poured so that's it... the food was lovely can't complain about that but the service was awful and I would never ever recommend anybody come here for their birthday because you are not made to feel special at all

Midweek catch up dinner with friends Chatham Babasheesh, pleasantly surprised by the goergous venue. The ambience was soft warm & a relaxing style of stunning decor, very welcoming. Arrived to the restaurant with 6 other tables occupied, so not busy. Waited ages for our order to be taken, waitress came over, wasn’t listening, waited 20 minutes for three drinks. Starters arrived which were ok although instead of a dip with the halloumi there were olives? Waited ages for another drink order, 2 moussaka’s arrived, one vegetarian, one lamb, we only ordered one lamb one, then another main arrived, to be told don’t shoot the messenger but the yaprak diner wasn’t ordered and the chef has 20 skewers on the go and doesn’t know how long it will take! There weren’t even 20 people in there! A friend ordered a side that also didn’t turn up. After over an hour one drink, one full set of starters and only 2 of us eating a main we decided to get the bill and leave. We were told that we wouldn’t be charged for the dinner we didn’t receive or the drinks we didn’t receive, well thank goodness for that! Used to enjoy this restaurant but won’t be returning

I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF GOOGLE WOULD LET ME I am not a person that randomly leaves negative reviews, I genuinely believe that you can be unlucky and get an off day so after previously visited Babasheesh in Chatham and not having a particular good visit, I decided to give it another chance WORST decision EVER. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY Our table was booked for 7.30 and we arrived on time and we were very surprised at how few diners there were We were seated at our table and left for half an hour before being approached by a server as we had been left we knew what dishes we wanted as well as what drinks so it was all ordered together We waited another 15 minutes for our drinks The starters arrived one of the dishes was nothing like described deep fried halloumi with salad, they bought deep fried halloumi in a pile of olives, not great as the person who's starter it was didn't eat olives. We put the olives onto another plate problem solved Then the server bought over a vegetable and a lamb moussaka, I said we didn’t order vegetable only lamb along with kleftiko and a kebab The kleftico was bought to the table and the server said “I’m the bearer of bad news don’t shoot the messenger, the chef has messed up he has lots of kebabs being cooked he’ll do yours as soon as he can”! But no apology “I can bring you some bread to eat”. I also pointed out I had ordered broccoli as a side but had not received it Our dinners were going cold so our friend said start yours I’ll catch up We ordered some more drinks 30 minutes later no drinks and no kebab or broccoli The lamb kleftiko was like a dogs bone very little meat and I can’t explain how bad the moussaka was it was tasteless and in a watery sauce not a bit like moussaka Like I said the restaurant was not busy, the person behind the bar was just standing there I called the server over and he said “Oh yeah your drinks”. Still no apology We said cancel the drinks and the other dinner A young girl was sent over and gave us a half hearted sorry We will NEVER EVER go back Shocking from start to finish Rude staff, rubbish service, disgusting food. I can see why it was so empty shame as it’s in a lovely location. Hopefully they will close down soon and a decent restaurant will take over

I had been to Babasheesh for the first time the previous Friday with friends and loved it so suggested we go there for my son’s 13th birthday. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Dan made sure we had everything we needed and was happy and chatty server. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely would recommend to others.

Came here for the 1st time today and OMG pleasantly greeted and served by sahib and had the most amazing cocktails made by the lovely Shania the food was absolutely amazing melt in the mouth lamb and the sea bass was full of flavour won't be long till we are back again

Excellent food but we were asked to move tables after our desserts as the table had another booking coming in - hadn't been advised of this upon booking. The restaurant was half empty! We would have stayed longer but felt a bit disjointed after this. Staff were attentive but one waiter was rushing about so much he knocked a drink flying - this was replaced - but less speed more haste!

The first thing to note is that this location no longer takes TasteCard. So, if you want a discount, don’t go here. The venue is well lit, with some very nice decorative lighting. Staff are friendly, and the food was decent. It wasn’t too busy, perhaps because it was a Sunday. Overall, a decent night out and not expensive.

Came in for a couple drinks with my partner, was served by sahib the waiter. He was a star at serving and nice to see a familiar face. The manager on duty unsure of his name served our drinks was lovely and a professional gentleman.

My parents (who are in their 60s) did not even get as far as being seated at a table before they were insulted and intimidated by the person that I assume was the manager on duty this evening. My parents asked if they could "have the table over there" in response to which the staff member went right up to my dad's face in an aggressive manner and said "Oh so you don't want to eat here". Appalled by the unexplained and unjustified confrontation, my parents questioned why he had said that, to which he replied "You can go somewhere else". My parents felt they had no option but to leave the restaurant after such disgusting treatment which left them feeling very embarrassed. My dad returned to the restaurant a few moments later to make a formal complaint about the service, and the staff member refused to give his name or speak to him. This standard of service is beyond abysmal. I cannot believe that I now have to worry about my parents going for a meal out in case they are confronted and insulted.

Went there to celebrate a birthday in the family. It felt like taking part in a failed Apprentice task. Service was very poor but the place had less than five tables occupied! Staff seemed to prefer chatting amongst themselves than taking any interest in their surroundings. It was expensive and the food was cold. When I informed the staff (I had to interrupt their chat at the bar) the chef appeared to tell me that it wasn’t cold! Worst meal experience for many years.

Myself & partner visited today. Food was nice (above average) however inside was incredibly cold, its far too loud of an atmosphere and the service was not there - literally non-existent - it seemed that staff were only interested in the big tables. After waiting nearly 20 minutes for our table to be cleared and be asked for desserts we gave up and proceeded to go up to the bar and pay our bill and leave and sought desserts elsewhere, they also stated they cleared our service charge 😂 - service charge?! We won't be returning and wouldn't recommend going here unless your a big party.

We visited Babasheesh for a family lunch. The food was good, the staff were quite friendly, but largely that’s where the positive experience ended. Tip for management/owners. - customer service is one of the things you have direct control over - staff should be reminded to deliver the initial drinks order immediately, and avoid standing together talking - when clearing tables, clear those of the tables being used, and not clear two plates (from a party of four) and then clear plates from empty tables afterwards - asking if the food is ok once presented is standard basic practice - guests shouldn’t have to remind more than once for forgotten or missed items - if unsure of which drinks are for which guests, asking is a good method, rather than placing them anywhere The overall impression we had was that it was an environment for the small team to talk to one another, and the delivery of customer service was far down the list of objectives. All of these things are easy fixes with solid customer service support from managers.

We popped in here for a bit of late lunch off the cuff. The place looked fine , nice decor, mood lighting and set out ok. We were seated near the window but it was very cold so we changed tables only to find this table to be sticky and not clean. We then changed again and it was ok. However it was very cold. Other restaurant goers were seated in their coats so we all must have felt the same. We asked if there was an issue with the heating only to be told that it is off and only the manager knows how to work it but he was not there... We ordered drinks, white wine and the house draught beer. The wine was ok but the beer was very tangy. I did not finish it. Starters for 2 were ok. Before we'd finished our were plates were almost taken away, why? I do not know. Mains was a mixed grill for two. It was flavoursome and well cooked but the accompaniments were very poor. The salad was tiny, bread minimal and still the environment freezing. I also saw another restaurant goer sending back the draught beer. The staff were good and tried hard but lacked direction and leadership. We paid nearly £100 for this. Was it worth it? No! Will I return? Not sure. Will I recommend? Probably not. It's a shame our visit was marred but a freezing environment and a poor set-up. A few tweaks could turn this into a fab place

Instructions were not followed. Asked for NO ONION OR SALAD in the wrap and it turned up with both all over it - ruined it as the flavours had gone into the chicken etc PLEASE CHECK ANY INSTRUCTIONS LEFT FOR YOU AND ACTUALLY FOLLOW THEM!!

food was amazing the way the lamb chops are cooked to perfection, jans team is amazing everyone you talk to have a smile and very helpful. There is free parking at also if you have parked underneath you get 4 hours free when you dine in amazing date night spot with amazing drinks.
