Absolutely great pub, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and quick service. Food was fresh and delicious ( fussy eater here 😁) CJ and a lady behind the bar is definitely a benefit for the Cricketers as they made us feel very welcomed. Highly recommend. Will return soon ♥️

Nice place went there sat with daughter and her friend lovely women behind bar even sat down and ate with her friends and collected glasses served drinks etc very elegant and lovely looking woman 5 stars

We came out for a Sunday roast and was unfortunately disappointed, the beef was extremely tough and inedible along with no sauces available (mint, apple sauce etc) It seemed we had come on a football day so it was extremely loud and difficult to enjoy the food with people shouting and screaming constantly. We ordered a side of cauliflower cheese which has been shrunk half the size of what it was previously. One part of the food I enjoyed was the desert, I really the enjoyed the apple crumble. I don't think I would go again.

Decided last minute to go out for a meal to celebrate last day of school holidays. Booking online was simple and was welcomed by friendly, helpful bar staff and had a really lovely family meal.

A cracking pub offering everything you could hope for an evening out. We found the staff very accommodating, particularly enjoyed the company of the little South African fella!

Gone downhill, our go to pub before watching the Gills, place looked dated and needing some tender care. Real Ale served in plastic glasses, and only 1 ale on.

I cannot recommend this pub/restaurant enough. The staff were absolutely fantastic, polite and efficient. We had starters,mains and desert all of which were not expensive and they was served really quickly. The food was delicious and I genuinely haven't had a meal like that in a long time. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely evening out. You have definitely got returning customers in us ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved the music, the fact that you find people of all age-groups unlike most pubs in Gillingham. The staff is so friendly. Me and my boyfriend had a nice pool game.. for a nice night time, I completely recommend

First visit great service and the food was excellent but not a place to have a meal. Mainly blokes and the swearing was terrible but have to say the blokes were polite to me when I went up to the bar.

Another example of a beautifully presented punch pub. Fantastic attention to detail, super clean throughout and a huge outdoor covered area to enjoy food, drinks and sports on the multiple outside screens. Vanessa and Ian were great hosts a si completed my work... So friendly and welcoming... Thank you 🤗 The cricketers has a huge selection of bottled beers and ciders to compliment the usual draught options (photo) I always say it but people want to know their food is prepared to the highest standard and with Vanessa's approval I've included the pictures of the exceptionally clean kitchen, all modern labelling and colour coded utensils and boards being used... Very high standards are in place at the cricketers throughout. The beer garden is huge and dog friendly and children are very welcome This would be a great place to while away a few hours with good food and drink in great company.

We started going to this pub about a year ago and have always been treated well until today. My husband arrived at around 5pm this afternoon and me and another friend arrived a bit later, he chose the table right next to the small stage, which was NOT reserved, but apparently there was going to be a live band performing later. The owner and a member of staff took the middle tables away, never asked us to move or mentioned that they would need the space for the band. We spent there a few hours there, had some drinks and food as well. At around 8pm, this band arrived and one of the members asked my husband if he could move the table, he then agreed and moved it forward, however we were rudely told it was not enough as it was 6 members playing and they had loads of equipment as well so needed more space. As this team member was rude, my husband asked to speak with the owner. When the landlady and the landlord came to our table they asked us to move to the back or move to the next table, where there was a couple already, however they were happy to have us in the table. My husband said to the owner with as a joke “you owe me a drink”, but he then replied in a very rude way “I don’t pay drinks for anyone”, my husband didn’t enjoy that because we are regulars and the landlord has seen us and interacted with us many times to know it wasn’t serious; had the owner asked us earlier to choose a better table, before the pub gets extremely busy, we could have enjoyed the band performing, and wouldn’t have had this whole rude interaction. We’ve been there so many times and we’re never disrespectful to anyone. Regardless, we stayed and continued having drinks and chatting. As the music was very very loud, not the band, the music from the juke box my friend politely asked if it was possible turning the volume down a bit, the landlady said no, as everyone else was enjoying the music from the juke box and told him him that he should’ve move to a table in the back, at this point after so many rude interactions, my friend replied back, “thank you but you can seat there yourself”, then she replied “it’s my pub!”. At this point, I told my friend and husband we should leave, as there was no to be treated like this!! Unfortunately, we used to enjoy going to this pub nearly every Friday, but after this we won’t be going again.

Visited today as a friend recommended it to us. The food was great and what a lovely little pub, well not little at all! My Son and I both went for a mixed grill, our steak and eggs were cooked exactly how we asked for them to be done. There isn't many pubs these days with outside space but what a lovely garden area this has, love all the flowers around. As a cleaner I'm always picking at places that I visit but it was so nice to pick up and look at a menu that wasn't sticky! My Son even commented on the cleanliness of the pub overall. Must be teaching him something!! Will certainly be paying another visit with the rest of my family very soon.

Nice enough, a bit loud on a Saturday night for an old git like me

We moved around the corner from this place nearly 2 years ago but never visited as worried it was going to be too football-y, but not a problem in July! We went with my Mum to try the Sunday roast and were not disappointed! The food was well presented and tasted lovely! My Mum loves a Toby Carvery bit fairs that the beef she had at the Cricketers was amazing: more like a steak than just some slices of meat. My partner who can eat loads struggled to finish his basically half a chicken! We did polish off some desserts a while later too which were also lovely. The server/bar girl was also very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning!

It an advarge pub nice gardern and friendly staff and it nice to see the landlords come out and talk however . Their needs to be a few improvements for it to get 5 stars . (+) maybe some staff training needed on a single vodka and coke it shouldn't get served in a 10 oz or 12oc glass. (+) when a fight break out in the gardern within admegently call the old bill do not wait for the incident to progression and carry on or get worse . (+) maybe some training it preventing incidents and how to response to incidents like fights in pub in order to ensure that the pub licence is withhold and that customers are not put at risk . Apart from that the pub where nice and clean inside out . This pub has loads of perpetual if it improves on the requirements that I have stated apart from that the staff and management where great . Will be coming in the foreseeable future to write another review on to see if their any improvements. It kinda of has been so far interms of pubs I've been too a bit rough.

Very helpful and accommodating with wheelchair

Recently had a meal with a friend at this very warm,welcoming, friendly pub. Had 3 courses, all of which were presented beautifully. Starters were lovely. Steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare) Pudding was delicious. Good friendly atmosphere would 100% recommend.

Excellent family friendly pub with great food and friendly and efficient staff. Quiz nights, music/ dancing nights and don’t forget the sports TV. I highly recommend The Cricketers to all.

Good pub for family occasions, food and always lively at the weekend. Like a second home!

What a dive. The beer tastes watered down. The staff ignore you. The manager/owner talks to his staff like they are something nasty on his shoe. Everyones miserable because of this. Avoid at all costs. Especially on a match day ! Dont put money in the Juke box either. They dont like your choice in music they turn it down or turn it off.

Bit of a dump but OK I guess... karaoke is just horrific.

The food here is absolutely delicious. Honestly me and my partner are the fussiest eaters known to man and we ate everything that we ordered. Cooked to perfection, hot and beautifully presented. Served with a smile and staff couldn't do enough to make sure order was taken and any changes were noted and passed on to the kitchen. Nothing to much trouble. Reasonably priced and quality produce. Chicken strips you got to try. Hubby couldn't rate the mixed grill enough. Thanks to the cricketers for a delicious meal definitely be regular customers.

Great night watching The Starks Family band

The food was very nice but service was very slow. Some of the group had finished their meal before other had received theirs. Otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable lunch.

Visited this pub a few times in the past year, first visit went out for a lovely meal with my family, the service was adequate, the staff were friendly and the food was nice. I went there a second time for my birthday with a few friends to celebrate and the atmosphere was wonderful, the staff were still very friendly and the food was a lot better, would highly recommend to visit if you're in Medway.

I was disappointed with this place. The manager is not a very good person. He hovered around listening to our conversations. It was annoying and disturbing.

We had Sunday lunch. It was the worst meal I have ever had. The beef was so full of fat that you couldn't cut it, never mind eat it, the parsnips were rock hard, and the veg were nearly raw. I won't be eating there again. I wouldn't give that to a dog to eat. They charge you £13 for that. Disgusting

Enjoyed a few beers with my boy before a Clash Tribute band performed at the football ground. Punk music was being played which added to the nights ambience and kicked off the night in style! Good beers at reasonable prices

Nicely appointed. Hard to say much about atmosphere on a quiet Monday night but it's always been a lively pub so I'm sure it's very good other times. We attended this place for my sisters birthday. This place was great to attend. The food here was exceptional, specially the Tandoori prawns in Tandoori Mao.... having dark fruits on tap too was a big bonus. This place was friendly and clean.... we will be returning soon. 5/5 from 7s

What a wonderful pub. The food is delicious, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is amazing.

OK pub a five minute walk from Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium. One cask beer on handpump when I visited. Lots of outdoor seating some of it covered. Not too busy before a Carabao Cup game.

No point introducing a new menu if half of it isn’t available to order.

What a place. Loud noisy full of people shouting and screaming. People had been fighting young man bleeding outside. Sat in front garden area only to be treated by men exposing themselves in full view of the road. An experience I will not repest

Absolutely loved this place, what a Friday night throw back we had. The music was amazing and received exactly the same in the staff. The landlord and landlady know how to have laugh and throw a party Friday nights. They are also extremely friendly and polite. Can’t wait to join them again.

I booked a table for 4 for my friends and I, and when we turned up the staff were polite and the food wasn’t too bad. Our main purpose was to watch the football, we ordered the food more to be respectful of the pub and ended up spending more than £50 between us. All was going well until we encountered the Landlord, who quite frankly has to be one of the most irritating and disrespectful people I’ve ever met. We had not long finished our food and drinks (all of which had just been cleared from the table) and he come over to our table and demanded we either buy something or leave, refusing to believe we’d bought items prior to our table being cleared. Along with his lack of professionalism, the so called ‘Landlord’ was quite evidently targeting a lot of this disrespectful behaviour at the ethnic one out of the four of us. Suffice to say we all got up and left immediately rather than spend any more money in this poor excuse for a Landlord’s pub. Although teenagers have quite a bad stereotype nowadays I can safely say all four of us were some of the quietest in the pub, and not causing any sort of trouble. I’ve never had such a terrible experience in a pub in my life, there is a hell of a lot of better alternatives in the area. All down to the racist Landlord, who certainly doesn’t know how to treat his customers, and most definitely doesn’t deserve to own a pub like this.

Booked a table for a roast today for two people Well what can I say worst roast I’ve ever been served up One tablespoon of cabbage followed by carrots half of a parsnip one whole potato cut in 4 one floret of a cauliflower and a few green beans followed by 2 slices of roast beef that was tough as a old boot Which we left and one aunt Bessie Yorkshire pudding Just can not justify £10.79 for this roast Definitely won’t be returning!!!

Nice staff, good service. Food hit the spot but there is room for improvement.

Parking here could be a problem as there are very few spaces . The welcome left a lot to be desired and definately recommend a Customer Service course to the Server. Menu is varied , prices are in line with other local places although not happy paying over the odds for a small coke. Our meal was average, salad non discript and the chicken warm although chips were hot. In all, very disappointing and will certainly not be planning a return visit.

Personally disappointed to be turned away when arriving at 19.20pm to be told kids must be gone by 19.30!! Have eaten past this time many times, with and without the kids, so curious as to why it has changed.. surely not good for business!!

Returned to the local this evening to be so so disappointed....people of gills local to here mind your mouth but allow the small minded bigoted opinions of the new owners bless em. Apparently walking away mid conversation from someone is not rude (customer service 101) and taking offence from people’s language is essential! No warning s given just you ve upset my wife get out....can t wait to meet the new manager s xx
