This is the the worst pub food I've ever experienced. The food was lukewarm when served and I received one chicken skewer as the main part of my meal for £15. Ridiculous.

We found this absolute gem of a place to have a Sunday lunch and we definitely wasn’t disappointed, our daughter played outside, made new friends and fed the animals (goats, chickens, bunnies and pigs) and then we sat and had the most beautiful Sunday lunch whilst listing live music. This place is a must visit for any living or visiting the area.

Only went for a drink, friendly staff. Sat outside.

Rude staff, dirty inside and out, unpleasant food. Avoid! Was offered a marquee which was ribbed and full on dirty broken tables and chairs. Rubbish and cigarette butt on floor. Small farm area is shocking. Animals kept I small areas constantly plagued by children. Very cruel

Ordered a ploughmans and after waiting ages, it arrived with different things on it to what should have been. The menu said gammon and we had cheap breaded ham. Was told that we almost didn't get the food as they had run out and had to go to the shop. There was also an issue where one of the staff members poured ice on my friend trying to be funny because he didn't understand something. He is disabled with a brain injury but I appreciate you may not know that. Either way, shouldn't be pouring ice over people. Despite planning to stay longer, we left after our food and went elsewhere

Visited for first time today for breakfast and when it did arrive most was cold the rest luke warm and tasteless. Will not go there again it has made me feel very sick. When we told them the breakfast was cold the lady took it away and obviously just put it in the microwave and on return i did not even get an apology. Forget the photo,s on the menu the food comes out nothing like that. Place needs investigating.

Lovely food! Perfect dog friendly pub with a local like atmosphere. A few chickens, goats, pigs and baby rabbits in the garden too which was cute! Great meal. The dog enjoyed her dog friendly ice cream too

The steak was tough and fatty and the whole meal was cold. it wasent cheap either. Discusted with Wagon and Hale.

Has so much great potential, good location, plenty of parking, the farm animals and being dog friendly are the perks. They even have a dog menu which is adorable and the reason we chose to come here. Me and my partner had lunch here but the food was really bad. Spent £45 on a pub lunch for two people + some dog treats (burger, chips and coke each) which I wouldn't mind being expensive if it helps cover looking after the animals etc but the food was terrible. I couldn't eat mine. The burger bun was definitely frozen, probably after it's expiry date as was very dry and crumbly and everything had zero taste. Maybe we just caught them on an off day but it put us off going back. We aren't at all fussy when it comes to food but this was a let down, especially for the price.

Ordered £72 of food Delivery turned up I was handed a carrier bag that when opened I discovered all the boxes had split and there was now a bag of gravy potatoes veg and lemon meringue all mixed up Called the wagon to be told “Yeah what do you want us to do about it” Avoid avoid avoid avoid

Very friendly lady serving, went late afternoon/early evening so maybe understandable the atmosphere was a bit odd inside. I thought the drinks were expensive, friend ordered nachos and was really disappointed in the quality and quantity. Plenty of seating, play area and animals looked good for young kids but not the nicest setting. Was ok but not somewhere I'd hurry back to

Can’t complain , was delivered hot and tasted nice . Good value at price point . I will add as much as I am not bothered to much my roast did not have the stuffing as advertised … could have maybe added an extra Yorkshire or something and told the courier instead. But what was there was nice so thank you

Probably the worst meal out we have ever had as a family. 50 minute wait to get Pizza with no tomato sauce, adult pesto pasta that wouldn’t feed a child, microwaved lasagne, over cooked chicken strips and chips, undercooked garlic bread (not even sure that made it into the oven), dirty lettuce on burger which was served with 7 over cooked chips. Forgot a portion of chips which came out after we had finished eating and staff were specifically told ‘make it a small portion’. To top that all off, a dog walked OUT of the kitchen after we had finished eating. Totally ruined my birthday meal. UNHYGIENIC and you need a new chef. Will never eat here again.

Probably one of the worst Sunday Lunches we have had. A shame as we took my sister and her husband who were visiting from Wales. The meat was over cooked and every thing seemed tasteless . The gravy was very thick and even that had no taste. As my sister said “well it served a purpose” never again. This was at 1 o clock on a Sunday.

Awful. Terrible food, tasteless and overcooked. Rough as anything customers shouting at their children in the garden. Dirty toilets. Shame as it could be do much nicer.

Majority was nice however the tiny amount of ice cream had melted.

We waited a long timecto be seen when we went in ,i appreciate they were busy but we had booked a table ,once we were served we were told where our table was It was a while before we were given menus Once we ordered We waited 1 1/2 hours before we got our food there was plenty of food going past us out into the garden Whe our food finally arrived what my son and his girlfriend got was hardly enough to feed a child We wont be going again sorry very disapointed Really not worth the money

Just been for a roast dinner with my partner we spent £42 and it was absolutely disgusting I would not recommend at all the food is awful the roast potatoes are not roast they are boiled well barely cooked! The chicken tasted as though it had gone of a been re heated 4 days later I am absolutely appalled at the experience I had DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!

The food was amazing ,it came out piping hot. Chips looked a little brown but tasted really good. Special offers are on in the week which is a good money saver. My husband and I really enjoyed it. Barmaid was lovely. Will definitely be going back .

Don't bother with going to this so called restaurant... they say they have animal, they had 1 chicken and a pig that was in a disgusting state the RSPCA should be called on them, full of drinkers and not a family pub at all, the service was non existent only worried about the takeaway orders half the meals never arrived some not at all the kids pizza was a bread role with a cheese topping and arrive after everyone had finished there meal, complained and they did not care, drinks never turned up only intreated in trying to play UB40 on there phones for the drunks at the bar, I don't believe they have a music lisance so need to be reported for this too. This place should be shut down dirty and not family friendly at all.

Well what can I say looking forward to a nice meal out with the other half n it turned out to b highly dissopointing. Place looked a lil grubby in places. Ordered starters came out tacos swimming in a oily juice then ordered pie (chicken n ham), it was like 4 bits of chicken the minutist ham all swimming in what was like a tin of flavourless soup with a rubbery bit inside ( god knows what it was) Told staff n there was nothing they could do, manager was to busy to even talk to us and didn't want to know just basically said tough u have to pay. Disgusting managerial skills as manager couldn't care less. Won't b going here again waste of money

Absolutely awful. Best part was the waitress. We questioned the food and was told we can't talk to the manager as busy. Flaming awful won't ever go back. This is supposed to be a chicken and ham pie 🤣

Not sure what happened with our food as it was just warm if not towards cold but overall, felt welcome and a nice helpful bar person. Prices are fair and parking is plenty, maybe just an off day there for the communication between servers and kitchen. 🤷

Visited here at 11am for breakfast, when we arrived we had to wait a few minutes to be acknowledged as a delivery driver was speaking to the staff, no biggy. The pub was pretty empty, there were only one other couple there when we arrived. We were told to take a seat and come up to order, the tables hadn't been cleared so we sat at a dirty one. Used the toilets which I agree with other people, they are in desperate need of a good scrub, especially the floors. Our hot drinks came after about 5-10 minutes which was ok and they cleared the table. We then waited almost an hour for our food. After a while my partner asked how long our foods going to be and we were told there's 'millions of orders.' At this point other families had come into the pub but there were probably still only 4-5 tables with people on, I know they do online orders but it didn't seem busy.... The food was very nice, I don't have anything negative to say about the food itself, it's just a shame that we had to wait so long and nobody thought to pop over and let us know about the long wait. Completely understand that sometimes when it's quieter it actually takes longer because you're probably cooking to order rather than having a constant flow of foods but, please just keep people informed if you can, it would have only taken a 'sorry, it might be another 15 minutes or so, can I get you a drink' for us to be totally fine with it and I do think you could do with having a deep clean just to freshen it up a bit. Probably won't be going back which is a shame!

Been coming to this pub for around 8 years now have gone more frequently the past 4/5 years with family. Had my Aunts wake there yesterday as we always took her there. Staff couldn’t be more accommodating and Freindly. Have are here many times great food and the buffet done yesterday was amazing couldn’t believe how much you got for the price! Since Emma and her family took over in my opinion it’s better than it was before. Kelly has been a bar staff for as long as I can remember there and she’s always been spot on everytime. Great atmosphere!

Food was terrible the Sausages didn’t taste right the toast was rubber the chips was hard only thing I liked on the breakfast was the hash browns and beans rest was not tasting right at all

Fish finger chips and beans was nice. Burger and chips was nice. Chicken roast wouldn’t recommend vegetables didn’t taste like they was cooked enough. Roast potatoes was too big and not cooked long enough. Also it’s small for a meal what costs £15.

Normally love the wagon food but unfortunately today was a let down, roast was barely warm, kids meals were extremely small, maybe because busy being Mother’s Day?

Freezing cold at lunchtime. Steak and kidney pudding so over cooked that it crumbled to dust when I finally broke through. Everything felt tacky and not properly cleaned.

15 pound for a roast with 3 roast potatoes is extortionate . I took photos of how black the potatoes were . (Not edible ) . The veg was ok as was the gravy … meat was not 2 bad , if I paid 6/7 pound would have been a lot less annoyed but 15 pound for a roast is very premium prices . Potatoes should be edible and portion is a joke . I’ll upload photos to Google for people to make there own mind up

As you can see from the photos , my roast beef had 3 potatoes in it for 15 pound ( quite shocked tbh ) . Half the potatoes were inedible as you can see from The photos black . Not even any potato left inside . The Yorkshire tasted like it had just been taken from the freezer and warmed under a hot lamp , still had frozen chill on bottom . And the portion size is not enough for a 15 pound meal . I won’t order again personally

We ordered food through their website, website was easy to use. Our food arrived within 30 minutes, hot and delicious. We ordered the bacon and cheese burger and the Waggon burger. We did make alterations to the food as I am not a massive fan of cheese. The alterations were made by the staff. The delivery lady was lovely. We will be ordering from here again. Fabulous food. I would add photos but we got sidetracked by eating the food lol

Nice pub to take the kids to as they got an outdoor play area and a few animals that you can buy a bag of food from the bar so you can feed them . We went at lunchtime and it was quite busy but the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly.

Burnt offerings sorry it really is inedible roast potatoes burnt n the Topside of beef. My dog gets better so sad as we were looking forward to it 😞

Went for Sunday lunch. The whole meal had been overcooked. The beef was solid, the roast potatoes were burnt and struggled to cut through them. The stuffing balls were more like marbles and could have broken your teeth. The vegetables were straight out the microwave, dry and tasteless. And they have the cheek to charge £15! I complained to the manager, who was obviously embarrassed when I showed the food. Also, the toilets were in need of a clean. So disappointing. Will never return.

Chips were undercooked, they were inedible. The vegan burger was dry and not because of the vegan patty but because it had mo sauce or even the tomato that was specifically mentioned in the burger meal. I paid £3 for coleslaw that was basically a bowl of milk. It was disgusting.

Overall a poor experience here today. Waited forever for a couple sandwiches and a pizza. Chips were oily, milkshake was not particularly cold milk with banana nesquik topped with cream (folks, that’s just flavoured milk, not a milkshake, where’s the ice cream?); we bought feed for the animals, no sign saying not to feed the pig and it bit my 7-year old who ended up in tears with a swollen finger. Manager was apologetic enough, but still doesn’t resolve the issue. This pub has a lot of potential, it’s a beautiful old building, but it’s run down, dirty, and kitted out with like 90s diner style furniture. I don’t plan on returning.

Food OK but took ages to arrive. They do say it takes a while but over a 30 minutes wait for 2 cottage pies is a excessive IMHO

Came here for Sunday lunch. 9 of us in total. Restaurant freezing cold, toilets dirty. 6 or 7 of us had starters, all of which came out together and all were warm and tasted ok. Then the mains arrived, 5 cold roast dinners, steak and kidney pudding which was ok but had to ask for gravy. Margarita pizza which very little sauce, so little even an 11 year old said it tasted like cheese on toast. Then the worst gammon, egg, fries I have ever seen. The gammon was just fat, fries cold and was inedible. Staff were rude and made sniddy comments when we complained. Only took the gammon meal off the bill and 10% off the others. How this place dares call itself a gastro pub and charges the prices it does, I have no idea.

First and last visit to this place. The environment was dirty and shabby, with uncomfortable seats. Starters were ok. I ordered a hot chocolate that was just warm, thin and watery. There were 9 in our party, most of us ordered the Sunday roast, it was horrible, meat was dry and looked like it had been hacked rather than carved, tiny portion of veg, consisting of watery cabbage, two hard slices of carrots and a few hard green beans, barely any gravy and what there was of it was bland. My friend ordered gammon, chips & egg, or more like fat, chips and egg - it looked disgusting and she couldn’t eat it as it consisted mainly of white fat and the whole dish was cold, it came with a slice of thin white bread and butter. Daughters burger was thin, cold and greasy and nephews pizza had no sauce, as he described it like cheese on toast. A lot of money for very poor quality food a lot of which was wasted. Didn’t pay for one of the meals & got small discount off the other mains. An all round bad experience, in fact I can honestly say I’ve never experienced food as bad as this.

We ordered a wagon sausage and egg muffin which was way nicer than macdonalds! Plus lovely hash browns, none of which were greasy. And a large set breakfast which my other half couldn't even finish and enjoyed all of it. Was hot on arrival and tasty, and good prices. Will become a regular order for us.

Lovely family friendly business. Came here for breakfast with family and 2 dogs. Service was excellent and food was perfectly cooked. Location great for capstone park and ski centre too.

We had our team Christmas lunch here today and it was fabulous - lovely space, lovely service and fabulous food. Parking on site, easy to get to and really good value for money.

Sunday breakfast at the Waggon at Hale was unexpectedly good. Sorry about the photo! I couldn't help myself and tucked into my food before I gave any thought to writing a review. Whoops! Among other breakfast choices, there's a standard Waggon cooked breakfast for £8 and a larger version, the Ultimate, for £11. Both come with lashings of tea and coffee plus toast, all included in the price. I chose the Ultimate and I'm surprised that I finished it. The Waggon includes sausages, bacon, 2 eggs, mushrooms, beans, grilled tomato and a couple of hash browns. The ultimate swaps the hash browns for 3 slices of black pudding and huge portion of bubble & squeak! It made for quite a pile! The bubble & squeak is clearly home made. Whilst it lacked the outer crispiness that I long for in a great, fried bubble, it was properly made with decent potatoes and greens. The sausages were decent and the bacon remained juicy. No shoe leather bacon on your cooked breakfast here, thank goodness. It's just a shame that the egg yolks weren't runny, but that's me finding criticism where there should perhaps be none. Everyone agreed that the food was super, but the Ultimate was a little too big and that'll be a very rare comment from me! Accounting for portion size, quality and the price-included tea, coffee and toast, this is one of the best value breakfast locations in all of Medway. As a family run pub, one might expect their service to be genuinely friendly. I'm happy to report that it was, so that's another tick in the box for the Waggon at Hale. The pub is easy to find and has a small car park of its own. Parking is a little tight to the front, but overspill parking is available to the rear of the property. From the outside, the building looks like an old Tudor house. It's just a shame that it's less characterful inside. That said, it is clean, tidy and functional. We'll return for Sunday breakfast in the future. I'll just be sure to fast for a day before we do :-)

My food arrived cold and the turkey wrap had dry cold turkey and cranberry sauce with no stuffing. The steak was freezing cold and chewy and the beans on the kids food had skin on it as it was so cold. The only thing that I liked was the halloumi cheese

Food was excellent as always. But missing a can of coke and the orange juice ordered was a very watered down orange squash (presume a mix up). Other than the missing items, brilliant :)

OMG what is going on I haven’t visited this pub for 8 months and the portions have just shrank £15 for Sunday lunch is reasonable ish BUT honestly I laughed when the plate arrived so small portions 1 slice of beef and 4 tiny badly cooked potatoes and just a smidge of veg and I mean so little I did asked if they given us the child’s portion It was bad sorry 😔 the staff were lovely though and got my point why? It’s a great pub that used to have good grub not expecting Michelin stars but please up the portions and maybe some horse radish with the beef £45 on lunch badly spent

Halloumi didn't even make 1 decent fajita, 4 tiny pieces, that also came in kit form for £15 absolute joke. Chips cold Chicken burger was good

I had Macaroni cheese but there was no cheese flavour or consistency and the portion was in a smaller than normal takeaway container which was only half filled! I also had prawn cocktail sandwiches. These had no butter and barely any seafood sauce. The sandwich comes with salad and coleslaw. The so called salad consisted of 3 mustard leaves, 1/8th of a tomato and 2 halves of a slice of cucumber and the coleslaw was in a tiny flimsy paper cup that held half a dessert spoonful! The food was overpriced but I thought it must therefore be really good but it was the reverse! I do NOT recommend The Waggon at Hale as somewhere to eat!!!

I had full rack of ribs, chips and coslaw which was very nice and tasty, was only disapointed in the size of it all

Waggon at Hale customer service & food SUPERB.... however, Just Eat.... SHOCKING. Despite them collecting my food order and then subsequently marking my order as being delivered - no food ever arrived from Just Eat....it simply vanished it seems! I will never use them again and will be seeking due refund from them. Wouldn't let me submit this review unless I gave at least 1 star for delivery but of course, there was no delivery from Just Eat so please ignore the star! My deepest appreciation again for the good will service received from the Waggon at Hale... and the food was delicious!

We have recently moved to the area and found this amazing family run pub.. our son loves all the animals and the park. We have had lots of lovely food here. To top it off we went to the Halloween Party today and it's was amazing! So much for the children to take part in! Pumpkin Carving, Face painting, games, dancing and much more! Great atmosphere for all! Children and adults!! Thankyou so much and we can not wait to attend many more events! We love it here! 😈

What a gem, we ordered from the Uber eats app for home delivery, and we went for the meat feast and pepperoni pizzas which were absolutely delicious, plenty of toppings and even better it was buy one get one free so for a family of 4 it cost £26 for four pizzas. We ordered some sides as we didn't realise how big the pizzas were , we didn't really need the sides but the chips and onion rings were both tasty and good sized portions. Will definitely order again from the wagon at hale and will definitely pay them a visit. Thank you

We went here for some food and it's the first time I've been to The Wagon for about 10 years! There were amazing Halloween decorations everywhere which really brightened the place up. And the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We'll definitely be coming back!
