Had another amazing meal here today with my family and 2 twin boys. Staff are amazing and food brilliant. To the bad people trying to ruin this place should be disgusted with themselves!!! Theres no place like this in medway that caters for kids with the park and dog friendly with animals to see and feed...it caters for all. Well done the waggon don't let these scumbags ruin you cos your all amazing 💪👌👍

*AVOID* the farm animals that they keep are not appropriately cared for. Cruel conditions and they refuse to let them go to better homes.

Visited recently and found the animals in an awful state - please sort this ASAP.

Went here for drink with partner and the experience was awful having to see animals that should be in a field but instead they left in appalling conditions and look way under normal weight for wht they should be, it's basically animal abuse and is clearly just a money grab by the owners.

Very poor conditions for the supposed to be animal farm, more like knocked together chicken wire, Harras fencing and broken old pallets, the owner should be ashamed of the conditions they are leaving these lovely animals in!! SHAME ON YOU!!

The animals are kept in extremely poor conditions. Not food, no water and no grass. How this pub is allowed animals I will never understand.

Love this pub has lovely staff very friendly and always busy especially outside with people bringing there dogs.. Food is amazing go here every week. Love feeding the animals and kids r joy it to.. Goats are funny

The food was mediocre at best, the portion size was so small - £14 for what looked like a kids meal but yet the £7 kids pizza was massive! The animals, especially the goats, seemed to need a better pen too and the playground part could do with some updating. Will not be rushing back.

Absolutely disgusting treatment of the goats and the pig. I’ve never seen anything like it. I hope people keep giving you bad reviews about how you treat your poor animals. I will not stop trying to get your animals taken somewhere better, because there are many animal sanctuaries. Your goats are starving and displaying seriously concerning behaviours, and both your goats and pig are living in non enrichment and disgusting conditions.

Animals in the garden are kept in extremely unhygienic conditions. The goats look very thin, and they all seem really sad ☹️

I used to like this pub, but unfortunately, the foods gone downhill, and the animals' pens are now looking less than suitable. I haven't been in for a while and probably won't come back again unless I start hearing some good things about it again.

The animals are kept in horrible conditions. They are thin and miserable. No fresh water, no grass, nothing. They’re used as entertainment but not properly cared for. It’s disgusting.

If I could give this place a zero stars I would. The animals they keep here are treated so bad and the living conditions are absolutely appalling

The fresh cream with the Lemon Meringue Pie did not taste right. I believe it could have been off, or something else had been included in it

Very good place to visit, especially with children, as they will love the garden, or should I call it a mini farm yard. Loads of animals.

Tried here today as heard good reviews in the past. However it will be the only time I do. I ordered a ploughman's. It didn't look anything like they advertise on their page. It had 2 very thin slices of pack ham not gammon ham as on the menu. 2 thin slices of beetroot. A teaspoon of coleslaw. 4 tiny onions. A few leaves, 1 slice of cucumber and one bit of tomato and a thin sliver of red onion. A big wedge of cheese but as much as I love cheese I like to eat it as a part of the meal. My husband ordered gammon ham, eggs and chips. Again he was given 2 thin slices of cheap pack ham. Eggs and chips were OK. But serves on a very small plate. Really poor portions and quality for £14 and £13 meals. Will definitely not be going back.

Popped in for a quick drink while it was warm. Didn't eat here but upon walking inside the venue, we were hit with a lovely smell of freshly cooked fish and chips which smelled great. The drinks I feel were decently priced, not cheap but not too expensive either. The animals in the back are a unique attraction in a pub. These are obviously catered to children, but I can't help but feel they could be better looked after. The rabbit and chicken enclosures seem to be in decent nick, but the goat pen wasn't and the pig's pen was a mess. There was wood from a broken fence all over the place as well as rubbish scattered around. Not a nice environment for a pig to live I feel. The garden as a whole could do with a clean up. Appreciate we're getting out of the winter months which may have affected this but the garden certainly needs some attention. As a whole, it's a decent pub that has a lot of potential. I think it would benefit from garden maintenance, especially in the animal enclosures. The inside is nice and clean, and looks well kept after, just a shame we can't say the same for the outdoor area. I'd definitely like to come back in the warmer months to see an improved garden!

Didn’t receive any vegetables with my Fish cakes - Menu says Fishcakes New Potatoes & FRESH vegetables- not Salad!!! Where are the veggies?? Can’t Can’t eat most of the salad

Always wanted to visit. Was so disappointed the roast was not as described. Gammon was the thinnest 1 slice, beef wasn’t sliced beef it was a very small tough bit of meat and then very dry bits of chicken. This was pre ordered too. Not worth £18 at all. Others had burgers which they said were nice. Didn’t find the place very welcoming. Very polite young blonde lady was rushed of her feet doing everything. Such a shame as pictures and menu seemed so much better. Sadly won’t be returning.

I will save your time and the long story—just don’t go here: overpriced, misrepresented food on menu, wouldn’t exchange despite the product ‘having come from a bag’ and food arrived cold and undercooked. Goats outside are cute mind.

It's a bit hit and miss with the Sunday roasts. Chicken was dry beef over cooked and hard to cut other than that it's ok

Honestly If your grabbing a quick bite to eat at lunchtime then this will be fine. But to call its self a gastropub it’s a push. Service is extremely slow, sometimes the bar staff are not even there, it needs proper management and rotas, honestly it’s like faulty towers. Don’t do a big sit down dinner there, food is not good at all, it’s low quality pub grub, homemade pizzas are Chicago town for the kids and they will charge you 8 quid, veg is hard and not cooked and rushed, there is not a chef in this place just a struggling bog standard cook. Avoid the classics like the plague (pies and the steak & kidney pudding) the meat is inedible. Constantly getting told they don’t have stock, having to change order, really poorly run, and the furniture is shabby in the dining area, remind staff to even bring you and knife and fork! Really really poorly run and just general grubby looking, staff are not great and away with the fairies, Go yourself if you don’t take warning from this review. The food is not even on a weather-spoons level, very low quality, go to the kings arms or oak on the green of you want fantastic pub food, prices are very similar, but quality honestly it’s really bad here, I’m very fair and you will be disappointed. Wish I read the reviews on here first as most items we ordered, are on here getting slated, nice for a drink in the summer and the little park are and animals are great, but avoid food and the service around it.

Booked a table for breakfast, this morning, catch up with a friend, we both ordered the full English, have a say a bit disappointed, sausages not nice, bacon couldn't eat so over cooked, & all quite greasy, the girl was very nice, that severd us, outside area, not very welcoming, very untidy and unkempt, sorry to say won't be returning.

The cauliflower cheese is amazing. Good quality and still hot when it was delivered. SQUID RINGS spot on.

I always love the food from the Wagon. I’ve ordered many times. Today though I ordered a bacon and egg sandwich and the egg was missing from the sandwich. I used the app to try and contact the restaurant but was unable too so they provided credit. This has not happened before and I still highly rate the Wagon at Hale

Probably worst roast ivw ever had, beef was so tough potato deffo frozen ones and yp stale never again only good thing was gravy

Had breakfast this morning, overall for value for money I would say it was very grear, the staff were friendly and on the whole the food was very good. The negatives for me is that is was far too cold where you sat to eat, we had a fire next too us but wasn’t on, totally understand its cold outside, however I never feel the cold. Also the quality of the hot drinks was poor, coffee was luke warm and very stong, the tea also come out cold and had to ask for another one. Real easy fixes, it certainly wouldn’t put me off making a return visit, but I will wait until it gets a bit warmer. If you want a decent breakfast at a good price, I would highly recommend this place.

Had a roast from wagon 4-5 times and the quality does really vary . This time the roast beef was lovely really really nice . both the potatoes and the carrots were quite undercooked . I did not eat either due to being hard , annoying as the carrot Bats could have easily been cut half as big fixing that problem and potatoes just steam first . The gravy was nice and portion decent . Yorkshire and stuffing ok . I understand it’s pub-grub but few simple tweaks would really take a notch up

All the food we ordered was delicious and still pipg hot, the beer was wonderfully cold and the deserts were fantastic.

Did the Saturday morning visit to the "Spud and eggs man" in the pub car park..brilliant service .

Went to this pub for dinner with my mate, lovely place, staff excellent and food was delicious. We both had the Burger which was very filling. First time I have written a review although my mate and I have been a few times as we love the ambience and atmosphere of the place. We’ll be back!!

Very dissapointing Sunday roast takeaway. Tough chewy beef. Frozen roast potatoes, Yorkshire and stuffing. Good job we have a dog. Total waste of £30

Visted the WAH this afternoon, haven't been there for a number of years. Really friendly staff, dog friendly, clean. 5* service. Food was very nice and good value for money. They also have a dog menu, the Sunday roast was a hit with my pooch Lenny. Looking forward to going back again very soon. Many thanks 😊

First time here,only had a sandwich to eat and it was nice. Place was decorated for Halloween and what a brilliant job they had done. The full menu looks good and fairly priced. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely going again.

Was a bit chilly on the day we visited and where we were sat it was a bit cramped .All said and done . On the whole a nice local lunch with friends.. But ....There does seem to be an unpleasant smell,I noticed it last time we visited but this time it seemed worse ? Staff were very pleasant. With drinks we spend £20-30 pp

This was our 1st time. Lovely atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly and very welcoming and went above and beyond. Nothing was to much trouble. We certainly weren't rushed. Ideal place to take kids . Excellent value for money. Will definitely go again.

We'd passed this pub many times, and said we must try it. The opportunity finally presented itself, and we dropped in on a Monday for lunch. Car parking was sufficient - there is a second car park around the side, and the option of the public car park a hundred yards away. The menu was broad, and there was a "two mains for £18" option, which we took. We followed our scampi with lemon meringue pie. The food was good. Ordering was at the bar, or using a QR code. Despite it being quiet, there was a short wait to order as the barmaid was involved in other things. The wait for the food to be brought was reasonable. Afterwards, we had a look at the small collection of animals around the outside area, which children would enjoy.

Food is high quality and generous, I had Cottage pie it was like home made, my colleague had the Ploughmans, again a generous size have a delivery from there whenever I visit Gillingham.

Food ok but nothing more than that. Doggie smell and very cold.

The roast potatoes were so hard I nearly broke a tooth. The beef was so tough it was inedible. The chicken was cold.

The takeaway sunday roasts, don't even bother. The beef was like chewing rubber, I nearly broke a tooth on the potatoes they were so hard, it was tasteless, and they charge £15 for that rubbish.

Took the family for lunch here. It was extremely quiet when we arrived. I have given a 2 Star rating due to the long wait between the starter arriving and the main arriving (Over 30 minute wait from starter to main). Also when the mains arrived the food was disappointing to say the least. I don't want to be nasty but I've eaten in better places with better food for 2/3rds of the price of here. I feel this place was well overpriced and very slow considering how quiet it was when we ordered. The front of house staff were pleasant enough. But I suspect there must be issues in the kitchen for the food taking so long and not being very satisfactory for the price. We will not be coming back here again in the future.

One meal was missing from my order. I called the pub to report this. They insisted all meals had been placed in the bag. I tried to explain we had not received it. The lady was extremely rude and hung up. The quality of the steak and kidney pudding that did arrive was very poor. The cottage pie was very average. Due to the rudeness, lack of customer service and the low quality of the food I will not be ordering from here again

I ordered a meal for 3 people for delivery. When it arrived there was 1 complete meal missing. I called the restaurant and they checked with the kitchen who claimed they had sent out all 3 meals. I assured them it was missing. The lady who answered the phone was extremely rude and hung up. One of the other meals which was steak and kidney pudding was inedible as the pudding was rock hard. The other meal a cottage pie was average. I would not order from this pub or visit their restaurant again due to their rudeness and lack of both cooking and customer service skills. Totally unacceptable.

No custard turnt up , asked for no salad or garnish and it came with salad and garnish all over it !

We found this absolute gem of a place to have a Sunday lunch and we definitely wasn’t disappointed, our daughter played outside, made new friends and fed the animals (goats, chickens, bunnies and pigs) and then we sat and had the most beautiful Sunday lunch whilst listing live music. This place is a must visit for any living or visiting the area.

This is the the worst pub food I've ever experienced. The food was lukewarm when served and I received one chicken skewer as the main part of my meal for £15. Ridiculous.

Rude staff, dirty inside and out, unpleasant food. Avoid! Was offered a marquee which was ribbed and full on dirty broken tables and chairs. Rubbish and cigarette butt on floor. Small farm area is shocking. Animals kept I small areas constantly plagued by children. Very cruel

Visited for first time today for breakfast and when it did arrive most was cold the rest luke warm and tasteless. Will not go there again it has made me feel very sick. When we told them the breakfast was cold the lady took it away and obviously just put it in the microwave and on return i did not even get an apology. Forget the photo,s on the menu the food comes out nothing like that. Place needs investigating.

Ordered a ploughmans and after waiting ages, it arrived with different things on it to what should have been. The menu said gammon and we had cheap breaded ham. Was told that we almost didn't get the food as they had run out and had to go to the shop. There was also an issue where one of the staff members poured ice on my friend trying to be funny because he didn't understand something. He is disabled with a brain injury but I appreciate you may not know that. Either way, shouldn't be pouring ice over people. Despite planning to stay longer, we left after our food and went elsewhere

Lovely food! Perfect dog friendly pub with a local like atmosphere. A few chickens, goats, pigs and baby rabbits in the garden too which was cute! Great meal. The dog enjoyed her dog friendly ice cream too

Has so much great potential, good location, plenty of parking, the farm animals and being dog friendly are the perks. They even have a dog menu which is adorable and the reason we chose to come here. Me and my partner had lunch here but the food was really bad. Spent £45 on a pub lunch for two people + some dog treats (burger, chips and coke each) which I wouldn't mind being expensive if it helps cover looking after the animals etc but the food was terrible. I couldn't eat mine. The burger bun was definitely frozen, probably after it's expiry date as was very dry and crumbly and everything had zero taste. Maybe we just caught them on an off day but it put us off going back. We aren't at all fussy when it comes to food but this was a let down, especially for the price.

The steak was tough and fatty and the whole meal was cold. it wasent cheap either. Discusted with Wagon and Hale.

Ordered £72 of food Delivery turned up I was handed a carrier bag that when opened I discovered all the boxes had split and there was now a bag of gravy potatoes veg and lemon meringue all mixed up Called the wagon to be told “Yeah what do you want us to do about it” Avoid avoid avoid avoid

Very friendly lady serving, went late afternoon/early evening so maybe understandable the atmosphere was a bit odd inside. I thought the drinks were expensive, friend ordered nachos and was really disappointed in the quality and quantity. I will add as much as I am not bothered to much my roast did not have the stuffing as advertised … could have maybe added an extra Yorkshire or something and told the courier instead. Probably the worst meal out we have ever had as a family. 50 minute wait to get Pizza with no tomato sauce, adult pesto pasta that wouldn’t feed a child, microwaved lasagne, over cooked chicken strips and chips, undercooked garlic bread (not even sure that made it into the oven), dirty lettuce on burger which was served with 7 over cooked chips. Forgot a portion of chips which came out after we had finished eating and staff were specifically told ‘make it a small portion’. To top that all off, a dog walked OUT of the kitchen after we had finished eating. Totally ruined my birthday meal. UNHYGIENIC and you need a new chef. Will never eat here again.

Probably one of the worst Sunday Lunches we have had. A shame as we took my sister and her husband who were visiting from Wales. The meat was over cooked and every thing seemed tasteless . The gravy was very thick and even that had no taste. As my sister said “well it served a purpose” never again. This was at 1 o clock on a Sunday.

Awful. Terrible food, tasteless and overcooked. Rough as anything customers shouting at their children in the garden. Dirty toilets. Shame as it could be do much nicer.
