Old, atmospheric pub with low ceilings and beams. Friendly and calm despite being fairly busy with two bar areas. I would visit again.

First time back here since before lockdown. Well worth seeking out! Lovely little real ale pub. Had 3 halfs which were all excellent and very reasonably priced! Cosy inside. Lovely outside garden area! Recommended!

Glad we made an effort to seek out this beautiful old establishment. Warm welcome, quality ales, appeared to be many regulars chatting together. Loved its quaintness.

The Coopers Arms is a classic looking traditional pub with attractive clapboard cladding on the outside and lots of beams and dark wood on the inside. It comes across as a local pub and is a superb example of the genre, especially “early doors” when the atmosphere was peacefully perfect. Add friendly service and a good choice of beers and it’s as good as you get.

Had a fine selection of ales in wonderfully atmospherically old pub and lovely beer garden

Use this pub a lot with family and/or friends and it never disappoints. Recently had lunch which was very nice and a few ales, of which there is a good selection. There is no loud music, so a pub where you can have a good chat/catch up. The garden/patio area behind has numerous seats and is lovely this time of year.

A really nice old fashion boozer with a very nice garden and a really excellent range of Real Ales, with friendly and efficient staff 😀 not tried the food YET. Its a must if You like British pubs. PS this is My first visit.

A lovely, very old pub with nice and helpful staff. The kitchen is closed on weekends. It’s close to the town center but not too crowded. Worth a visit.

Wonderful night here as a part of the sweeps festival. Shame it was a little quiet for the band, but they were excellent (fiddlers elbow).

We were part of a large family gathering for lunch. The landlord and staff were very accommodating and patient. Good selection of beers, well kept. Many thanks for making it such an enjoyable day.

Cosy little pub with a great selection of beers

We have eaten here for lunch a few times. The ploughmans is great, but last time we went for those other British staples, bangers and mash and fish and chips. The fish was nice and crispy and not at all greasy, and the three tasty bangers arrived on a mountain of smooth buttery mash, accompanied by a jug of onion gravy. Delicious. Its a true olde worlde pub, where you can happliy spend an evening drinking and chatting. I can sort of understand why, but its a shame they don’t serve food in the evening.

Traditional historic public house with many centuries-old original fittings and fixtures. Wide choice of well-kept cask ales. Serves food. Accepts card payments. I was surprised how popular it was for the time of visit - clearly a popular venue for those in the know. Easy walk from Rochester Castle.

This had till we moved out of the area. been a regular haunt.sevice from the friendly staff was good and the Ales are very well kept. Did not try the food but it always was very good.

Haven't had food here yet but have enjoyed a few excellent ales in this 16th century pub with friends. Staff friendly and welcoming, especially Beau the dog, who enjoys playing ball in the beer garden.

Set in a nice location, within the shadow of Rochester castle (and that's not too be missed) good section of beers. Rather amusing bunch of cyclists there when I was last there, and that's always a good sign!

If you want a real traditional pub this is for you. Good choice of beers, very old and no TV.

One of the very best pubs in Rochester. The building dates back centuries and has bags of atmosphere. The staff and landlords are super friendly and there's a great selection of beers.

One of the oldest pubs in Kent, lovely beams, fireplace etc. There are two bars and a lovely garden. We often just pop in for a drink, but on this occasion we booked the front bar for our 25th Wedding Anniversary celebration. Steve and Lisa, the landlords put on a fabulous hot and cold buffet and plenty of it. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Us, our family and friends had a great time and I really recommend the pub.

Steve, Lisa and his team are seriously awesome. Not only is the food and beer good, the service is excellent...oh..and they love dogs!

Monday 27th February 2023 I visited this splendid gem,, of a old tashioned unspoilt real ale pub like going back in time superb bars superb rooms inside 7 great hanpumped ales on, pleasant bar staff when in Rochester and want real ale come here. Also it's handy for the Cathedral and castle

This is a lovely cosy traditional pub - a very rare place these days! Friendly and helpful staff - very flexible with the menu as my dad is a vegetarian. The atmosphere was warm and a feeling of a real locals' pub. The food was fresh with decent size portions - the pudding - sticky toffee - was a great finishing off course. A good price too. Would definitely return. Thank you.

6 off us turned up for Sunday roast lunch as advertised. Booked this for a Sunday roast some time ago. Have enjoyed Sunday roast here before. Restaurant when we arrived was empty. Menu provided did not include Sunday roast lunch! Not done Sunday roast for some time said the barman. Didn’t tell me this when I booked. Finished drinks and left !

I visited the Coopers once again yesterday evening they were short staffed but it was clear the two people behind were working flat out. So I had a bit of a wait for my beer - but it was worth waiting for - a delicious guest ale.

It's right next to Rochester castle, so you can sit outside, with a real nice view of the castle, the pub has a nice range of beers and the staff are helpful.

A busy friendly free house that offers good traditional pub grub. Had a good lunch before exploring the castle. Recommend this for a friendly welcome.

Nicest pub in Rochester - by a street, in fact! Lovely outdoor space, good beer and good food. What more does any pub need The? Bonus....The short uphill walk up St Margaret's Street seems to deter those who strongly identify as Wetherspooners. Another plus.
