Sunday roast Great Sunday roast large portions and all served with a smile, however no apple juice available and no credit or debit cards accepted but I will return and recommend to others.

Phoned on the day and kindly fitted in,as a retired chef the Sunday lunch was one of the best I've had.hot,tasty and plenty of it.friendly staff.thank you.

After a lovely walk in the surrounding areas, with 2 adults and 6 pre teen kids, what a wonderful location to have a pit stop and rest the weary feet. A fantastic garden with swings etc (doesn’t matter how old you are, everyone loves a swing) the staff are so very accommodating, after a sudden change of dinner plans, even though we hadn’t booked a table to eat, they provided food for us. My youngest loved the sausage and mash dinner, the lasagne was a hit too. Will definitely be going back. The atmosphere is a great old fashioned style pub and so so friendly.

Great old traditional pub , lovely land lady always welcoming even with the children. Fab Sunday roast such good value . Will be returning often

We live locally and this is our first choice for meals with family and friends. The roast dinners are the best in the area and come highly recommended.

Great local people, with a great atmosphere, warm and cosy. Allow dogs, which is handy on the dog walk...

We went there for a lunch on a wet cold day recently. The food four of us had was excellent in all respects. We live in Upchurch and it is so nice to have this great venue in our village. Very friendly and will do all they can for their customers. Highly recommended.

We visited with friends for a lunchtime meal. The food was very good. When I booked the table I assumed we would be eating in the conservatory which looked large and airy. When we got there we had 2 small tables in the bar to sit at which we arranged to make 1 slightly larger table. Whilst sort of adequate, it was not ideal to sit and have a comfortable meal with friends. After some of us had finished our meals our plates were removed before others had finished which was not very polite.

Visited this lovely village pub today. Didn't plan on eating but having read the menus and seen the good value we decided to have a meal. We were not dissappinted, very tasty large meals and all served up piping hot. Definitely worth a visit you will be glad you did 😊

Lovely home cooked food , great menu ! 🍴Will be back very soon with the family .friendly staff great atmosphere and beautiful garden to sit in and eat in . Looking forward to Halloween evening with DJ and great food .

How pubs should be, not all the same franchised chain stuff. Very friendly very welcoming. Quiet yet lively

We have eaten here on numerous occasions and the food is very tasty and good value. The service is excellent and owner very welcoming. My favourite is the lasagne for lunch and my partner loves the chilli.

we took a 96 yr old there for lunch on wed 17/09/2016,very nice lunch and reasonable.good atmosphere and friendly owner and her grandchildren were a delight,would recommend it .think my uncle has the same view as hes going again tomorrow for sunday lunch martyn

OK so it is my Local so you may think I am biased.................Guaranteed a friendly welcome from staff at any time. Decided to take our guests for Landlady Ann Marie's home cooked (Not nuked frozen stuff) traditional Sunday Roast today. (7 August 2016) We know her standards and what to expect so obviously weren't disappointed. However the accolade I really want to stress for viewers is that Our Aussie friends who have been in UK for the last 3 weeks said quite categorically ,it was the BEST MEAL they had had since they arrived.They were amazed at the portion size and the quality of the food. The large plates struggled under many slices of roast Beef,and a Batter ,roast Spuds ,roast Parsnips, --Steamed,Broccoli ,Cauliflower, Cabbage , and Carrots. with lashings of lovely rich gravy .Ample supply of Horseradish sauce as required from a side dish. Here,s the rub, the whole lot with round of drinks for the 4 of us came to well under £50.00. Try and better that elsewhere if you can☺.

Meals are the best pub meals around, great pub and staff. good freindly locals, alway a nice place to eat and drink.

12 of us called in walking to Canterbury - great welcome from proper landlady and great pub lunches - two for £10! Great friendly atmosphere - what you dream of in a country pub. One of the local customers helped lay the tables! Scrupulously clean and tidy. A relief from the overpriced and overimproved.
