I know it’s Wetherspoons, no big expectations, but honestly don’t eat here, food was absolute rubbish! Had Sweet potato curry, 4 small cubes of potato in a tasteless sauce, with rubberised microwaved bread and Poundland packet rice. I did complain but to no avail, so I ate the tiny bit of curry & left. Went to the Bayleaf Curry house and had a superb Chicken Dansak. That’ll be the last time I order food in a Wetherspoons.

You always get what you pay for at whetherspoons. Cost effective for 5 people. Very loud as lots of young families so louder general noise with adults being louder to compensate for the children and babies.

Absolutely gorgeous view, dog and child friendly but felt like a lively restaurant at the same time. Out waiter Finn was fantastic and made our visit very special!

I’d heard this place had gone downhill but decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. Safe to say, I won’t be making that mistake again. There was zero atmosphere. We were seated downstairs—which I’ve never had to do before—as they apparently don’t open the upstairs anymore. The whole vibe felt tired. The menu was extremely limited. Starters went back. I ordered the monkfish, which came with something unappetising right in the middle of it. When I asked, I was told it was “part of the membrane.” I’ve eaten plenty of monkfish before and never seen anything like that—completely off-putting. My main was the seabass—bland and uninspired. Didn’t taste fresh, didn’t look it either. Wine wasn’t great. And the toilets clearly hadn’t been cleaned in some time—not what you expect at this level. This place used to be a solid choice. Now it feels like it’s running on fumes. I won’t be surprised if it’s closed within the year.

Came back to visit after moving away and the service, prices and quality were still just great. Leanne and Kristina made me feel looked after from the moment I walked in, and the rest of the staff are just as superb.

Rhiannon was brilliant as usual. Even memorises out order as it rarely changes. Lovely food was a bonus. Really busy but good was quick and service was prompt.

An excellent lunch in the centre of Crickhowell, very good food from a small but well thought out menu backed up by very good service. Recommended

Ordered a jacket potatoe, chips were given. No fried onions or tomatoes as the menu states. Extremely short staffed. Miserable dire atmosphere due to the fact they are closing down soon. Noone came to ask if everything was OK. Food poorly presented and luke warm. We feel ripped off. Hoping it gets taken over and turned around. Waste of money.

The pub itself it quite nice for seating, the service was very very slow! I had to go and find somebody to ask to take our starter plates away and tell them we were ready for the main. The food is typical chain food, edible but nothing flash. I doubt we will be returning anytime soon.

We returned here after a couple of years and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed the local ale and then a delicious Sunday lunch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We arrived an hour before our booking but were seated in no time. It is great to see people bringing their dogs in, dog treats were available on the bar along with special dog dinners!! Fantastic.

Food a disgrace. We had nachos to share which were burnt, garlic bread again burnt to a crisp and loaded fries. We had to ask numerous times for side plates and cutlery. The water glasses were filthy . Toilets were ok not spotless just ok but no hand soap in either of the 3 machines. According to the check list they had been just checked . Avoid this overpriced place at all costs.
