Parking for few out front but there is a carpark to back of it through streets either side. Or paying carpark but further on down road if your coming passed the town clock

Firstly this place is very busy, if you have to ask a member of staff to wipe down a table it is not the end if the world ! My wife and I popped in for lunch, sat at a "clean" table and ordered a Raman noodle in a broth which was a veggie option which was on for January, well this could be served in any restaurant it was that good, nice veg, and a spicy broth which had a kick to it, 2 Raman noodles and 2 pints of real ale and the bill was £17 and a few pennies, you would pay a LOT more for a meal like that elsewhere, i imagine not a lot of people would order it as most pensioners seem to stick with fish and chips and burgers, i would like to add we are both pensioners and so glad we ordered the noodles.

A solid Wetherspoons. Service was quick and efficient despite it being absolutely rammed. Tables clean and staff were very proactive in doing rounds to remove dishes and glasses that you were finished with. Generally seemed to have a lot more staff than most Wetherspoons pubs - maybe they employed more people for the busy Christmas period. Food was quickly delivered to the table and what exactly what you'd expect: no thrills and good enough for the money - especially given how cheap a decent pint of cider is here.

When we cam in we stood by the only empty table. I asked the waitress if she could clear the table for us, she said nothing and walked away. 2 tables left before she came, she cleared those 2 before she cam to us even though there was no one waiting to sit at them (2 seaters so we couldn't go sit at them tables, 4 of us), she finally came over cleared the table, wiped all the crap on the seats and left food at the back of the table by the menu's. Paid best part of a tenner for a pepsi max, 3 spoon fulls of rice (Lukewarm), 4 spoon fulls of beef madras (lukewarm), 2 soggy poppadoms and a cold naan. Considering it's a microwave meal I'd expect it to be at least the same portion size as a Tesco microwave curry. Wife paid extra for chips with her wrap and got 8 yes 8 chips. I know it's a weterspoons but it's a bit ridiculous now day's.

It is one of the better spoons in the area. Disabled stairlift out of use more than seems to be in use. Blocking the stairs. So it is worth checking before visiting if you have restricted mobility. Like most spoons, the toilets are downstairs from the bar area, which is up another set of stairs again. Toilets are usually pretty clean and well lit. It is cheap and cheerful on most items especially some larger and beers. Full English breakfast is about £6 and £1.56 for tea, coffee or hot chocolate with unlimited refills from the machines. Staff on a Saturday morning are normally polite. Outdoor seating is available in the main street which is pedestrians only or there is 3 or 4 tables on the small balcony mainly used as a small outdoor smoking area. High chairs are available for small children along with a children's menu and colouring activities. Menus are also available for different dietary requirements and a touch screen is available for this also. Regular festivals are available with cidre being promoted as the next one and real ale being the most recent one where you could try 3 1/3 pints for a special festival pint price.

We were heading back to the midlands in England after a weekend jaunt in Wales and Abergavenny was our destination for breakfast on the way home. I must start by explaining the previous day we had been to Ebbw Vale, a place so stuck in the 1970s that it depressed us to the point of dashing out of the town as quickly as we could. The Wetherspoons there felt as tired as the town and so our hopes weren't high. Fortunately for us, The Coliseum was a much more agreeable affair. We arrived at just after 8am and took a seat. The staff were courteous and friendly and took our order for two traditional breakfasts with a smile. We sat and started our coffees, waiting only five or so minutes for the grub to arrive. And when it did, it was tasty stuff, hot cooked very nicely indeed, even the toast was toasted. A rare feat in a Wetherspoons. No complaints at all for us in Abergavenny, we enjoyed the visit greatly and were quite happy to dwell over the coffees. We left happy.

Your typical greasy spoons- cheap and 'cheerful'. I had the triple cheeseburger and side of onion rings, the burger left a lot to be desired, the pattes were over cooked (not to my liking) and I guess they'd left it standing under the hot plate as the bun seemed stale/dry (not 'toasted')- the best part was the side of onion rings. Room for improvement across the board, but it's okay for a Whetherspoons I suppose.

Ordered 4 meals one being Sirloin steak well done for my 15 year old daughter. On being delivered to the table the she cut into the steak that was over an inch thick and found it was extremely rare. We sent the steak back and the manager agreed that the steak was no where near well done and offered another one. We waited for the next steak to come out when it did the steak was much thinner than the first but was again still very rare with blood running from it on cutting. We sent it back and the manager in shock agreed again that this wasn't acceptable and he promptly offered a refund. The rest of the party had all finished our meals and my daughter left feeling like she didn't want anything more to eat. The experience turned her off food, which was the last thing we needed after only getting her eating full sized meals since Christmas. The rest of our meals were lovely 2 were jalfrezi but small portions.
