The best restaurants in Monmouthshire South Wales

As a regular visitor to this jewel of a cafe the service (as always) today was fabulous, hot drinks made to the strength you like and always fresh cakes and treats. But what makes this place is the staff, always super friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Special mention today to Angharad who was very attentive and kept my tea topped up. Great to catch up with all the family

Always a friendly welcome. Good coffee, good selection of food and homemade cakes . Easy to find in the centre of town. Thoroughly recommend

Having read the reviews before we visited we had hoped for more. The panini was not good and the toasted sandwiches just that with no garnishes. Sadly, the biggest turn off was the lady cooking the food had her hair loose and not adhering to food safety requirements. Very offputting.

Ordered pizzas and kebab couldn’t fault it the whole family enjoyed it so much cannot wait to go again. It’s not your typical pizza place the variety and combination of flavors ignite your taste buds. The owner is friendly and passionate about his business and it really shows in the quality of food provided.

What a lovely pub!! We had a table of 9 with dogs and they couldn’t have been more accommodating! Beautiful Sunday roast, a good selection of starters and traditional hot puddings. We had a selection of beef, pork, chicken and lamb and all meat was cooked beautifully and plenty of veg with a really tasty proper gravy!! Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon! The land lords were really lovely people xx

We popped in for lunch today and we were so glad we did ! Food was fresh, yummy and well presented and service was very good ! Tucked away but definitely not to be missed ! Thank you :)

Found by accident really when looking for site, with hard standing!!!! Near friends in Pontypool. Dale and his father were very very welcoming. Facilities great and very clean. EHU was a bonus, especially in the winter months. Was made very welcome in the nights we went into the pub. Hopefully they will serve food again. Fully understand difficult at the moment as Dale suffering with poorly foot bless him. Would only like to suggest time on and time off due to the very narrow road in, especially for a caravan. We were delighted to discover The Pantry yesterday. Although it was near closing time they happily accommodated 5 of us. Absolutely super food. The service was outstanding and the lady who served us was so very pleasant and convivial. We all throughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it

Absolutely lovely county homely pub . Leah and paul are so very welcoming and can’t do enough . There was an outside mobile food event the evening we went but there were no vegetarian options so Leah insisted she do a special dish for me . My vegi burger was the best I’ve ever had and the presentation and sides were fantastic . There was a band playing . Great atmosphere, great pub , well worth eating there . We will be back ❤️

Just stopped for coffee sat outside in the grounds, free parking, lovely spot to walk your dog & take a break. Menu looked good.

Excellent meaty burgers, tasty fries, excellent friendly service. Only a few footsteps from main high street, well worth a visit.

I had seen Facebook posts about this place and it did not disappoint. Friendly service and extremely tasty burgers at a fraction of the cost of other eateries. Food was fresh and all hand made, if I lived in Monmouth I would be coming here all the time.

Staff were brilliant & food amazing....service, presentation & taste. The best afternoon tea we've ever had. 4 course dinner & breakfast. 👍👌👊 thank you to Paul who looked after us day & night. 😁😁
