The best restaurants serving Seafood food in Monmouthshire South Wales

Very friendly and welcoming staff. We had ham salad and smoked salmon salad at £7.25 each which was very reasonable. Very generous portions of ham and salmon and nice mixed salad leaves with tomato and cucumber, and balsamic glaze. Then toasted tea cake and coffee, again very nice and delivered with a smile. Will definitely go here again.

This chippy is so good!! I ordered fish and a small chips and the quantity was so much - not to mention the fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. Service was lovely and the restaurant is very clean. They take cash only so be prepared before you visit.

as visitors to the area we found this gem of a restaurant where the food was excellent and the service even better. We shared a big pot of mussels in a delicious broth with bread on the side and some skinny fries....classic "Moules Frites" french fashion. The seabass main was outstanding in a lobster /small shrimp sauce. My Monkfish was superb with a mild curry sauce.

Unfortunately, my experience here was disappointing. First, the staff were quite rude and unwelcoming, which set a negative tone. After ordering my food, I was informed it was a cash-only establishment. Considering it’s 2024, this is highly inconvenient. When I mentioned I only had a card, the staff reacted as if it was unusual, which felt dismissive. This outdated approach, combined with the lack of customer service, makes it hard to recommend this place. It’s only a matter of time before a more modern and customer-friendly chip shop comes along and takes their business. If you're in the area, I’d advise going further into Caldicot for fish and chips.

Lovely food, although I have tried to order twice on the days they offer gluten free and have been told they’ve turned off the friers so disappointed about that! Other than that it’s a great place to order from.

Best cod I’ve had in ages! Fresh and beautifully cooked - melted in the mouth

Very disappointing. Chips were warm - not hot. Had two cheese burgers at £4.40 each had no salad, relish or mayo as specified on the menu - very poor offering. Will say though the half chicken that I also ordered was well cooked - but overall a poor meal.
