As a regular visitor to this jewel of a cafe the service (as always) today was fabulous, hot drinks made to the strength you like and always fresh cakes and treats. But what makes this place is the staff, always super friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Special mention today to Angharad who was very attentive and kept my tea topped up. Great to catch up with all the family

This is a friendly, welcoming cafe, a great little find in Tintern. Don't think the one review was fair at all and gives a false impression as this cafe is not overpriced, its very good quality and we think it's very inviting. Try it and see, we loved it and will be back soon

Have used this great cafe on a number of occasions over the past few years and the coffee food and service have always been fantastic and the best value for money in Tintern. My last visit in March was no exception . The warm friendly family welcome was great, as always, and no one can beat their coronation chicken baguette anywhere. Exceptional coffee delivered with a smile and a great choice of cakes to finish it off . There’s nowhere better to go in Tintern for a great lunch or just coffee and cake and can’t wait to call again for a fantastic choice of ice cream when the hub is open !!

This cafe is great - I've been a few times since discovering it recently. The staff are friendly and helpful. The coffee is really good - you're asked to give your strength preference from a scale of 1 - 10 and they hit the mark. It's a very popular place for cyclists and the owner has installed a pump for the cyclists to inflate their tyres, if required. Keep doing what you do. See you again.

Based on the reviews we decided that this place should receive our custom over the other restaurants/cafes nearby. We had cappuccino’s, as all the reviews said the coffee was superb! I cannot tell you how awful that drink was, it was so hot you couldn’t even sip it, there was no resemblance to a cappuccino (no froth) the taste was insipid. The freshly grated chocolate on the top looked nice, but it melted quickly and congealed into glutinous mess. My son ordered a basic cheese and pickle panini, which he said was horrible! Later he had a very loose stomach! I cannot say it was a result of this though. The scones and cream were, ok, ish. The cream was lovely, however we had to ask for butter and more cream. The service was poor and sadly I can not recommend this cafe. Great if your a cyclist though!!!!

Unexpectedly stranded in Tintern having missed a bus, and tried in vain to find a taxi, this café was warm and friendly and restored my faith in human nature. The person serving came up with the perfect cup of coffee having asked just the right questions about strength and milk/sugar etc., brought it to my table, and then instantly came up with the answer to my need for a taxi. Sounds simple? It was, but others in the village had failed to show anything like the same interest and customer care. The food and everything else looked really good, and I'll definitely be back for more either on my bike or with the family.

Small with no loos, but would visit any time in Tintern for the friendly welcome alone - and the signed photos inside. No idea what it would be like to vist in high summer on a busier day but in October it was just great, and only dropped a star for not having loos (less of an issue for male cyclists perhaps than women given all the countryside and quiet lanes nearby).

What a super cafe. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the food was excellent. The Thai chicken filling for the baguettes/sandwiches was as good as it can get - a real winner. We had a great lunch break, sitting outside watching the world go by - the weather was glorious and the location perfect! We were so impressed we decided to come back for a breakfast and were not disappointed. No wonder it attracts so many bilkers - pedal and motor - once the word gets around......The only downside is parking (should you come by car), but the Abbey car park is only 100 yds away, and YES it is worth the cost and the walk if that is your only option. Not to be missed as a eatery.

Having read the reviews before we visited we had hoped for more. The panini was not good and the toasted sandwiches just that with no garnishes. Sadly, the biggest turn off was the lady cooking the food had her hair loose and not adhering to food safety requirements. Very offputting.

We came upon this little gem quite accidentally and popped in for a quick coffee we were delighted with the service and the quality of the drinks. The menu was vast and the ambiance was relaxing. I would definitely recommend this little restaurant to my friends and family. We will return.

Had to wait for my cars MOT at a garage round the corner so thought I'd finally give chatterbox a try. It's so good! Lovely atmosphere and brilliant service, with fast and good quality food. I had my young baby with me who was bring a bit difficult, and the staff were brilliant, really helpful and kind.

I visited creates with a fellow coeliac friend for afternoon tea. The owner was very welcoming, reassured us that he was coeliac too so everything we were about to eat and drink was 100% safe, with everything being prepared in a separate part of the kitchen. I can’t wait to return to try the Sunday roast lunch very soon. Thank you so much for an amazing experience, highly recommend.
