Lovely cosy cafe with a great atmosphere. A little disappointed that they didn't have their full food menu available, but the the toasted sandwich was still delicious.

We've driven through Abergavenny many times before but never stopped. This time we decided to stop for lunch and came across The Little Treat. We absolutely loved it. A tiny cafe with a commensurately modest menu, but just what we were after. I had a New York bagel (pastrami, cheese, pickle, mustard, you know the sort) which was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of mustard and not overpowered as can often be the case. Wife had Welsh Rarebit which was was nicely presented on two halves of baguette and quite generously proportioned. Both meals had a small salad. The owner, Claire, was delightful and very friendly. Would highly recommend the place and would love to return in the future.

we called in here initially as the board outside said they served loose leaf tea (my husband is a big fan) and we were not disappointed. I have a medical condition which means I struggle to control my temperature at times and this was one of them. I asked for some ice cold water and this was duly delivered and then a jug of ice cold water when I still couldn't cool down. This might not seem much in the big scheme of things but you would be surprised how many cafe would not be so accommodating. Anyway we were going out for a meal later in the evening so decided to have a light lunch and just order a sandwich. No complaints from us but there sandwiches are huge and come with crisps and salad and very reasonably priced. My chicken and pesto sandwich was full to the brim with real thick cut chicken and lovely pesto. we had planned on dessert but were too full to order any so plan to gon back when we aren't dining out in the evening.

Having been familiar and impressed with the Cosy Corner we decided to make the 30 mile trip to Abergavenny. On arrival we were met with apologies that the Little Bistro was closing early for training, when I explained we'd travelled specially, Taryn and staff made an immediate exception and re-opened especially for us, Wow, how lucky we were. The service and food that followed was as amazing as we remember from its origins at the Cosy Corner. Diolch yn fawr, Taryn and team. We'll definitely be back

Knowing that my family and I would be in Abergavenny around lunchtime prior to a walk up Sugar Loaf, I took the rare step of being prepared by looking up a tea shop that served cream teas with clotted cream (any civilised person would of course faint into their jam at the sight of whipped!) and didn't close at 2pm (as if everyone's appetite sticks to a schedule). Meeting those requirements alone would have been enough to get a good review, but I was genuinely delighted by The Little Treat. From the moment we walked in, our every need was met. We thought we'd have trouble finding a table as the only one remaining was for 2 people (there were 4 of us), but the lovely gentleman behind the counter asked if we'd like that table and then immediately brought 2 extra chairs over and ensured that we were comfortably sat with menus - ordering was prompt and correct. His colleague delivered our food and, when it became clear that there would be a slight delay in my daughter's order, brought over complimentary drinks. The food was excellent - neither pretentious nor poor quality. Both our hosts were unfailingly polite, but sincerely so, and genuinely warm. The service alone was worthy of note - if all catering establishments were like this then the world would be a happier place - but the food left us all satisfied as well. I really look forward to next time we're in Abergavenny so we can visit again.

The owner of the cafe was amazing and called the emergency services straight away, gave my partner a wet towel for the swelling on her head and didn't rush us at all, going out of her way to help in any way she could. We had to have paramedics come and then we took her to the hospital and this cafe stood out as being a big help to us so thank you ❤ We will definitely be back! Hopefully to finish our ice cream this time! 🍦

For anyone visiting Abergavenny, I can't recommend this place enough. Stopped on our way home for 11sies coffee and cake. I snooped at the cakes in several independent cafes before stopping here and (as a very difficult to please customer) still can't believe our luck. All the cakes are made in house and they really are PROPER cakes. I have been after a real victoria sponge cake for weeks and found it here. Delicious and a proper wedge slice. My husband had a malted hot chocolate and I had an oat cappuccino, both very good. No extra charge for the oat milk which is a real win for me. To top it off, such brilliant and friendly service in a family owned cafe. We were made to feel so welcome. Would urge everyone to visit. Already decided on a trip to Wales just so we can come back. Really want to try the guiness cake. The toasties also looked great!

The tomato chutney and crunchy sourdough were perfect. Luckily we just had enough room to enjoy the homemade cake. Abergavenny has more coffee shops/tea rooms/eateries per square inch than probably anywhere in the country. The competition is therefore fierce. This is a pleasant eaterie handily placed in the centre of Abergavenny. We ordered various items and I did think £2.50 for a modest slice of cake seemed extortionate but to be honest I don’t normally have cake in shops as I’m on a perpetual diet so £2.50 maybe the going rate. Still it seemed a lot. The service was pleasant enough to start ( when they were in selling mode, more of that later ) This is a small shop which quickly feels very cosy if there are 3 couples eating at the front. For space there are far better options in town, especially if there are more than 2 of you. So all ok so far, nothing spectacular but ok. Weirdly the coffee shop offered NO toilet facilities and I’m not aware of any other shop in town NOT offering these facilities so massively inconvenient if you need the rest room. On that score alone and if you are with kids I’d give this place a swerve. Far better and accommodating options in town, all of them have toilets and this is a serious miss. That said my son was desperate for the loo and in fairness the lady was accommodating to let us use the staff facilities out the back and after clearing a number of boxes my son and I squeezed our way into this non customer facing facility. I’m 6.1 ft and on chasing my son who was desperate for the loo and climbing 2 steps to the back of the shop I was nearly knocked unconscious as my head collided with a Low lying fixture note NO Warning Hazard. I had a sense of humour failure but said nothing at the time. Yes, there were some mind the step warnings but the issue wasn’t steps ,nothing obvious about head hazards. It may be that the clientele who mostly seemed to be older ladies in couples have nothing to fear but the failure to place a warning at head height , obvious and visible eg Mind your head or something similar makes this place dangerous for tallish men.The gentle bonhomie of those selling the overpriced cake immediately evaporated when I went to settle the bill. It’s always tricky when asked the standard ‘how was it?’ Question always seemingly asked at the paying stage. I asked if they wanted the honest answer or the vague ‘it was nice’ in order to avoid any dispute. I preferred the latter especially as I had my son with me. I was invited to be honest and as I run several businesses I always think that feedback helps the business improve. I explained about my head, the lack of mind the head warnings. Then the true colours of the owners came to the fore. No apology was offered, no asking about my head or the accident caused by their negligence just an invitation to leave and not return. I’ll be glad not to and as a result I would warn others with kids, anyone over 5.9 and who might need the loo to give this pls e a swerve. So many better options in Abergavenny

Popped in for a spot of lunch with my daughter and a cup of delicious coffee. I chose The Italian - a scrummy toasted sandwich with Italian bread crammed full of pastrami, salami, ham, cheese, pickle and tangy chutney. Served with a small salad and crisps it was absolutely delicious! My daughter had a toasted chicken and pesto sandwich which was soon consumed! We were so full and satisfied it lasted us all day! This informal coffee shop really is a big treat - well done to owners Darren and Clare who have brought a taste of the Continent to our town. The gelato there is also to die for!

After visiting my mother in hospital in Abergavenny, my friend and I needed some sustainance. Not knowing any coffee shops in the town, we plumped for this welcoming looking little place in preference to a High St chain. A lovely, welcoming greeting from the owner who settled us straight away next to the counter where we ogled the gelato! On a bitterly cold day, we both decided to have soup. This was a really rich, roasted Tomato and Chorizo soup served with delicious sourdough bread and butter. A very friendly ambience in a fresh looking place.....I really look forward to my next visit.
