What a little find this was! I was looking for a full breakfast in Monmouth but as it was early afternoon, I thought I'd missed my chance. Then I saw it down a little side street. Like an oasis in the distance, the A-board outside came into view. Ahhh, those magical words ALL DAY jumped out! This cafe was just perfect. Great food at a reasonable price and super friendly staff and welcome. It was a hot day but inside was pleasantly cool. The order for breakfast was written on a little whiteboard and each item ticked as I answered. I figured the price advertised outside was the base price, but no, this included everything. Definitely worth the shlep up Monmouth High St in motorcycle kit to find this gem. Recommended to other bikers doing the Girl on a Bike loop along the Wye Valley who fancy a full breakfast instead of fish and chips.

Unbelievable breakfast, cooked to absolute perfection. The owner is a geezer and knows how to offer a service. Couldn’t recommend this place enough The GOAT 🐐

Greatly decor’d restaurant with incredibly friendly staff and a lovely menu selection and very appealing daily specials. Well worth a visit.

We ate here three days on the trot. Friday evening, Saturday afternoon tea, Sunday lunch. All were very good experiences. I particularly enjoyed the beef bourguignonne on the Friday evening, delicious. Afternoon tea was also good, couldn’t eat it all so took some away in a goodie box. Service was friendly every time, Libby, Lauren and Aiden were great. Sunday lunch was perhaps not as good as the one I had in April but the friends we were entertaining thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Yorkshire puds were a trifle overdone but it didn’t stop me from eating every morsel. The atmosphere is great.

Gorgeous food and most of the menu choice was gluten free, this was great as I have Coeliac Disease and so does the chef!! Really lovely staff and the chef spoke to us at the end of the evening, what a great chap. Definitely would go back and stay in one of their rooms next time which includes breakfast. An absolute must for anyone who loves good, tasty well cooked food and also if you are Gluten free.

I absolutely love Creates! My husband and I go all the time, for date nights, birthdays, anniversaries, and family meals. The quality of the food and service has always been fantastic. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, no matter how busy they are. I have coeliac disease, and it's absolutely incredible to have somewhere so special and beautiful on the high street where I know I'll be taken care of and get such a good choice of meals. Nearly everything can be done gluten free, including all the wonderful puddings! Would recommend to anyone looking for a good breakfast or lunch, tasty evening meal, or awesome sunday lunch!

Visited last week. Beautiful small restaurant with a loveley ambience. We had the crispy beef as a sharing starter, which was beautiful. Main courses were beef bourginon and chicken dish. Both were superb. Shared a stunning cheesecake to end. Washed down with a bottle of rose wine. Total cost £82 which for the quality of food is very good value. Service was excellent Only thing I would say is perhaps the place could be a bit warmer.

Lovely place, would definitely recommend. Food was so tasty and hosts were very welcoming. This place has a great atmosphere we would definitely go again.

In a narrow side street in the lovely town of Monmouth- a proper cafe worth finding. No pretentious menu or pricing. Enjoyment assured. Quality food cooked perfectly without fuss and undoubtedly one of the best cups of coffee I’ve had (twice). You know it’s good when the locals recommend it!

Delicious soup, best ever beef bourguignon, and amazing chocolate brownie. Wonderful warm service with a smile. We stayed at Creates b & b and also had breakfast which was just perfect.

Excellent food, service and surroundings. I had the lamb which was perfect, very tasty. My husband had the fishcakes, which he enjoyed very much. Only criticism which isnt really a negative, my husband had my fries and he ordered the yummy garlic bread because his fishcake meal on its own wouldn't have been enough. Been here before and will definitely return. We are very lucky to have this gem in Monmouth.

Absolutely fabulous meal tonight for my mums 70th birthday. The staff couldn’t do enough for you, they were all so friendly and welcoming. I have a lot of food allergies so contacted ahead of our visit to ensure they could cater for me- they could with no problem at all!! I pre-ordered in advance to make it easier all round which saved the last minute back and forth to the kitchen to check ingredients, so nice not having the worry!! For the first time in years, I was able to have a 3 course meal and it was all so nice, couldn’t fault anything! The atmosphere was so relaxing. If you’re into places that have something a bit different about them, then this is the place for you, it’s so quirky and unique- I loved it! Would absolutely recommend this, and we plan to go back to stay in the b&b as soon as we can!!

Booked a birthday meal for 4 in advance as one of our diners has a number of food allergies, and Kenny the chef was more than happy to help out, and even explained that he could adapt anything on the menu to cater for us. We were warmly greeted by Ben and the ambience was warm and cosy, with comfortable seating. The starters were the best I’ve ever experienced… very decent sized portions all round, I’d highly recommend the Halloumi Fries. Hot throughout and extremely tasty. Mains were equally amazing. I had the Cajun chicken, and was not disappointed. The sauce was unique but extremely tasty. The side of fries were perfectly seasoned, and even came with hot garlic butter in a side pot to sprinkle (or drown!) to your own desire. Despite not having room, we had to have puddings as well, just so we could witness the full Monty! And definitely topped the meal off to perfection! We will definitely be returning to sample the rest of the menu, as it’s clear they take pride in their food.

We popped in to Creates for a quick drink as we were going to the theatre, but had time to spare. The staff are very friendly and give the place a lovely homely feel. It’s obviously a popular place as was evident from the number of people who seemed to be enjoying themselves. We were only in Creates for about 30 minutes or so, but both agreed it was a really nice place.

Wow wow wow, what an amazing evening…Creates Monmouth. Great meal, one of the best cooked steaks ever and a fabulous atmosphere. The decor is stunning, this is our favourite place in Monmouth. Thank you to the wonderful team for a lovely Valentines evening. Always ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a fantastic Sunday Lunch! The team from Creates nailed it! Great food and friendly service. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

The guys running this place are fab. It is a really gem of a place that oozes style and has a fantastic vibe. Monmouth really is desperate for somewhere like this that isn't the same old half arsed crap everywhere else in the town. Want some food or drinks, a great place to meet and chat, just head here and avoid the rest.

GLUTEN FREE menu is amazing. The chef is Coeliac (like myself) which was a massive comfort. The food was amazing, such variety and reasonably priced. The staff were super friendly and attentive. I will be back!

Having stayed with you on quite a few occasions and never had a problem as everything has always been prefect I feel pretty bad having to give a negative comment. Having stayed with you last night and had a wonderful stay until breakfast. Went down for breakfast sat down and a very nice lady from the kitchen said I'll take your order as the other lady was busy with other guests talking and serving drinks. So great we had orange juice and breakfast arrived in no time at all . Fab but after the breakfast was put down on the table the lady returned to the kitchen and rightly so as she was cooking. We were left with no offer of hot drinks or any condiments, the lady who normally sees to the front of house part was more than happy to offer the other guests everything they needed and was so busy talking and serving the others we sadly had been forgotten, we couldn't just interrupt her as she was in full conversation with others, so we left and went back to our room for a cuppa before we left.

Best place for breakfast in Monmouth. Quality food, cooked well and fantastic service by the couple who own it.

Visiting Monmouth for the day, so we make a habit of finding somewhere local to try and what an absolute cracker of a place we picked. We arrived at the end of a busy lunch time, where shown to a table quickly, order was taken after we had warmed up and arrived within 10 minutes. The filled baguettes ( my go to when out ) where the absolute best I have ever had, tasty and full of food, but the bread was just as tasty, it came with a really nice salad and a good portion of french fries, hot and tasty. We could not fault the food, service or ambiance. Try it, you will not be dissapointed

Love this place, a true Monmouth classic and step back into the "good old days". Awesome breakfast and takeaway rolls.

We went to creates today for sunday lunch ,5 of us and what a lovelly lunch it was too!Everything on our plates,from the lamb,beef,homemade yorkshires and roasted vegetables were absolutly delicious and cooked beautifully.Next time we visit our daughter in monmouth we will book there again .Also the staff were fab,nothing was to much trouble for them and even though it was busy there they took time to chat and kept checking that everything was ok with our meals.Would highly recommend .

My partner & I enjoyed a one night stay at Creates for a little birthday getaway. I received an email on the morning of our stay providing all the information we needed e.g. where to park, how to check in etc., which was very helpful. We also received a courtesy phone call from them en route to confirm that we were still planning to stay, due to the stormy weather, which was a nice personal touch. We stayed in the Deer’s Forest room which was beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and cosy, with lovely added extras like slippers and sleep masks. Our breakfast the following morning was delicious, I had the cooked breakfast and my partner had poached eggs on toast, both lovely, fresh and tasty. Service was welcoming and friendly. A delightful stay overall, I highly recommend a stay at Creates, we’ll definitely be back.

Shopping trip coffee stop which was disappointing. Overpriced especially charging £5 per person for a minute pot of tea which barely filled the cup. Expressed my disappointment at the cost for the tea but my comment was brushed off. Won't be visiting there again.

Really nice, what I would call old school cafe, with excellent customer service. Cooked breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended. Sure if I lived local I would be in the regularly.

Came across this little gem on our way home from holiday. So glad we did. Such a lovely little place. Great service with a smile. Food was excellent, as was the coffee. Wish we were locals as we would definitely be back. All we can do is recommend it to others 👍

Stayed for one night in "Deer's Forest" on the top floor of the building. Lovely room with comfortable king size bed. The breakfast was superb (somewhere that cook's the food to order and serves on a hot plate). Look forward to returning.

Best full English breakfast in Monmouth by a country mile. Open from 8am whereas some places don't even open until 10. A great friendly couple run this place & the banter is terrific.

We had a lovely stay at Creates earlier this month. Room was beautifully decorated and bed super comfy (we slept so well!). Delicious breakfast with excellent coffee. Hosts and staff team couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful, going above and beyond. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

Popped in for a coffee on a chilly afternoon. They open for the morning through to afternoon, then again in the evening. Sensible prices and great atmosphere with friendly staff. A lot of effort spent on the displays for Christmas as we cpuld see this when passing again in the evening.

Such a warm and welcoming boutique hotel. Staff were really lovely and helpful. Great location with easily accessible parking and whilst it’s close to the fab shops, there was no noise to disturb us. Freshly cooked, delicious food and breakfast menu was varied with lots to choose from. After dinner Espresso Martinis to die for! Decor was tasteful and quirky in delightful measure. Bedroom and en-suite were warm and cosy with superbly comfy beds and bed linen. Couldn’t fault it. Well done and thank you to all the staff at Creates. A place to revisit for sure.

Came for a birthday celebration, food was average... waitressing service was awful, ran out of many options at 7.30pm on a Saturday night.... told by one waitress, "can you tell me who's having what, as my fingers are burning!" Got told at 9pm "are you having anything else as I'm calling last orders" was hoping to come again as a large group but will be definitely looking elsewhere. Such shake as we were really looking forward to it

I can’t tell you how delighted I was when I realised that Creates (in Monmouth) is one of the safest possible gluten free restaurants! I have been diagnosed with Coliac Disease for 6 months and I have really struggled with finding places to eat out in Monmouth where I had lots of choice. In Creates I was overwhelmed with choice ;) All the cakes are absolutely gluten free and are guaranteed NO cross contamination! They are also friendly to people like me with Coeliac Disease. They are also completely caring to people with gluten intolerance. All the staff were super helpful and kind to me that I felt 100% secure and safe and my mum and I did not worry the tiniest bit about gluten. The food was delicious, and I would definitely come again to feel no worry about being glutened. For Coeliacs (like me) and people with gluten intolerance, I recommend this brilliant restaurant with all my heart, and I hope you feel the same as I did if you go. Annabel aged 10 :)

Perfect place to stay for going to the Savoy theatre in particular. Lovely room , clean , warm, nicely decorated . They even supply a sleep mask, and slippers! Very quiet and restful sleep. Plenty of tea coffee and milk in the room. Evening meal before visiting the theatre was excellent. Perfectly cooked steak, side salad and frites. Breakfast was very nice too. The staff are really lovely and welcoming . Easy to park at the rear of property. A very nice weekend theatre break . We plan to be back soon 😊

Lovely little cafe with traditional proper home cooked breakfast. Love the old-fashioned table mates cloths. Service was friendly and bargin price. Highly recommend.

We stayed here last night as we were attending a night at the Savoy theatre (a 10 second walk from outside btw) This hotel is BEAUTIFUL! It’s beautifully decorated, some lovely little touches like slippers, eye masks and ear plugs! Quality bedding & towels and just generally a modern lovely place to stay! It’s literally in the centre as well so placed perfectly for everything! The breakfast was also 10/10 Honestly a perfect stay! :-)

Chose here at random for breakfast rather than have at our B and B and we are so pleased we did. Steve was funny and kind, efficient and friendly. The food was very presentable and plentiful and seemed good value. Good tea. Clean tables, crocks and cutlery. Wish we had this locally to home!

Only opened 8 weeks ago, serves all-day breakfasts, and really good coffee. Local ice cream served as a nice desert by owner Steve and his wife.

Great full English, great people, highly recommend!
