Brewers Fayre Victoria Park in Blaenau Gwent

We booked a table at Victoria Park the lady on the phone was very reassuring about our booking, we brought my elderly mother out for the 1st time on a year. The staff was extremely friendly and we felt very safe sat at our table.The food was beautiful and although it was busy the staff couldn’t do enough for you.We can’t wait to come back!

I booked online beforehand which was very easy. On arrival the lady who greeted us asked us to sanitise our hands, showed us to our table while wearing masks and explained the Covid safety measures to us. When people at other tables left, the staff cleared and disinfected their tables immediately. So we felt very safe. The food was great too and very good value.

My son and his mate, called last week to book a table as they work together voluntarily at the local leisure centre. My son is 14 years old and his friend is 17. They were refused entry as neither were 18. They didn't intend buying alcohol and are very polite and well mannered. They are totally embarrassed by the situation they have encountered today. My son was told by a very abrupt manager called Abby/Abbie that "I am the manager and I can do what I like" I too am a senior manager but working for a multiple company would never "make up" my own policies or be rude to a customer of any age. This is the 2nd time in under 2 weeks that I have been appalled by the service and standards in Ebbw Vale. The 1st was upon booking a table for 5 for breakfast and being there for over 2 hours. We waited 45 minutes to be seated (even though we had booked days before) In that time, there was no white bread, no butter, no tomatoes. We eventually got served our hot breakfast but our cereals, yoghurts etc never arrived and when we asked where they were, a confused and embarrassed waitress didn't know what we wanted. We even waited for 10 mins for our cutlery after our breakfast had arrived.I regularly visit Abergavenny, which is better organised, better management and staff.I will never visit Ebbw Vale again!!

We went for breakfast, the food and service was faultless. But I have to stay how well the restaurant was run under the difficult times we find ourselves in with covid-19. All safety precautions were in place to a very high standard. They made you feel well come and safe. 1st class

We entered to be told abruptly that they closing shortly which actually meant in 30 minutes. Got our drinks but at exactly 11pm, the staff announced they were closing and immediately starting grabbing our glasses before we had finished. Won’t bother again, to be honest we only went in the first placebecause it was opposite the premier inn where we were staying and there wasn’t anything else near by.

Visited with my family. The layout made us feel safe, there was plenty of room between tables and screens in place. There are clear arrows directing you around the restaurant which are 1 way. This was very well thought put. We had full table service was is a massive bonus! Menu was varied and the food was not and tasty. Will be back

While staying at the Premier Inn Ebbw Vale we reserved a place for breakfast and evening meal for our 2 night stay. We found the staff to be very helpful. The breakfast menu was varied and what we had was very tasty. The evening menu was again varied and the food we chose was fine. Overall we found our visits to Brewers Fayre favourable.

Visited for breakfast and was left underwhelmed! Long wait for food and tables - they were severely overbooked and understaffed. However, staff that were serving were helpful and attentive - but rushed off their feet. A further hour wait for drinks and was left without cutlery when food did arrive. I don’t blame any staff in any way, but more staff are needed if it is known that it will be busy for the breakfast period.

Large family friendly pub with play area for little ones. Called in after work with my daughter, son in law and grandson for tea/supper. They have a play area for children to keep them occupied.Wide range of food and drink choices. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food was good and served quickly.A nice evening in a clean restaurant with friendly helpful staff

I normally stay at the Premier Inn next door when i visit my company site in EV usually around once a month - every time I've gone there for food, service has been terrible and food just about adequate - bar staff will ignore you and they're not even serving others - I've walked out and gone elsewhere due to this in the past - I just won't eat there unless really desparate - real shame the Ambala has shut down now

Having visited Victoria Park for several years I feel I have to congratulate the staff for their friendly attentive attitude towards customers. There is a wide choice of food on the menu and being Coeliac they do their utmost to provide me with the choices I have made. The food has always been of good quality,cooked and served well. The amazing deal of buy 1 get 1 free is a bonus which encourages people to make a return visit. Well done to all staff and we hope to continue our visits for a long time to come.

Called in for a drink and decided to stay for lunch. Friendly, welcoming staff and good food. We will certainly go there again

Visited here on the weekend, all staff were friendly and attentive and the food was delicious, could not fault it. Was checked on to see if food was okay and the children were well looked after in the play area and had a whale of a time in there. Would definitely come again

A get together just after Christmas we were given a warm welcome. The majority of us chose the Carvery. My only negative is that it could have been hotter, it was barely warm. The children had a blast in the soft play area although some much older children kept going into the toddlers section knocking the little ones over. Even though we were away from our table at times there wasn't any rush to ask us to vacate it. On the whole a pleasant lunch.

I frequently visit this pub for both lunch and evening meals and have never had a bad meal so decided to book for myself and my family in for Christmas day. I have to say I am glad I did. The food and service was outstanding and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely be booking to come back next Christmas.

What a fantastic afternoon. We arrived around 2pm to a busy restaurant. The atmosphere was great and the food was fantastic. Jackie the manager was great and could not do enough for us

Having visited here twice this week, one visit the day before , we were astounded to be told that we had to get out at 5.30 for them to change and set up for a disco and party which if you wanted to stay would cost £5. There were no signs up the day before when we went there telling us this. Otherwise we would have cancelled our booking. One member of staff front of house told us we could stay in the bar , although the bar was closed, and drink our drinks as our taxi was due at 7pm. When we went to the bar at 5.30 to get an extra drink to last us , we were refused and told we had to get out by 5.30 by another member of staff. We explained front of house girl said we could. She then appeared and denied she'd said anything of the kind. We were also told by a more senior person that we could stay to finish our drinks so front of house person served us. We were made to feel very uncomfortable from then on. Members of staff looking in on us. After some time we phoned our taxi to see if he could come earlier, unfortunately he was 15 miles away. After all its new year !!!!!. Customer service courses would benefit the staff from the top to the bottom. We would appreciate feed back from Brewers Fayre after spending £60 for a very uncomfortable stay.

I visited with my partner and 3 granddaughters We all had a thoroughly nice time 4 of us had the ribeye steaks, they were cooked to perfection and with a BOGOF offer what is there not to like Great service from very friendly staff 10/10

Good choices on menu and reasonably priced. When the food was served 3 of the meals (salmon) were not as hot as they should have been but have to say delicious otherwise. The lamb shank served was cold. A member of staff came to table during meal and asked if everything was okay but, unfortunately, did not wait for all to answer. When clearing table the same person was told politely, that the temperature of food was unacceptable. Her response was why did we not tell her when' she asked earlier, a course on customer service would not go amiss. She did offer the person with cold lamb shank a free drink to be fair.

Spent the evening with colleagues for our Christmas get together. Table was booked for 26 people and everything was ready when we arrived at 5.30 pm. The service was brilliant even though the place was packed. We had a three course meal which was delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly. There was a lovely atmosphere and we had a great time. Well done to Abi and Courtney who did an amazing job - thank you both.

I visit Brewers Fayre establishments frequently, in various locations and all bar one are courteous and obliging.

Lovely restaurant. Play area very clean and in good condition. My two children loved it. Food was very good quality and reasonably priced. The staff that we came across were friendly and polite. Will definitely be returning

Boys day out for the World Cup and brekkie needed before the train to Cardiff. Surprised how good the breakfast was to be honest. I find a fry up is very hit or miss where ever you go but this one was good. Plenty of choice and portions.

I recently attended my nephews birthday party at your Ebbw Vale restaurant.... What was once a free play area, is now pay to play.. Annoying seeing as us parents pay for food and drinks, the kids hardly eat or like what's on the menu... Atleast the kids should play for free. Anyway, that's not my issue I came here... My daughter only 9... And the tallest out of all her cousins who are a few years older than her, she was above your acquired hight limited... So what was meant to be a fun family night out... I had to watch my little girl sob at the table while her older cousins played.. If it weren't for the fact it was my nephews birthday I would of walked out. I fully understand if you had an age limit... But to see my girl get victimised because of her hight was heart breaking... For me and her. Not allowed to play in a room with slides and padded play area when she's a inch or 2 taller. Disgusting!

This restaurant is brilliant for family gatherings, especially with the play area being so accommodating along with the rest of the restaurant. The play area facilities are good, as I can watch my child from the tables. I love bringing my children because I know they’re always looked after well by the staff there, who are always helpful and recognise us when we come in and try their best to accommodate us. Food is good for the price you pay, always hot and fresh and service is always good even when busy. Definitely booking in for our Christmas family party!

We stayed at the premier in just opposite here and used brewer's fare as a base for dining. After a long journey to Wales we were hungry and in need of a nice meal. We ordered and waited and waited and waited until we asked where our food was. We were told they had lost our order and it would be with us soon. Once it arrived it was obvious we was not going to enjoy it. It was over cooked and very dry. We asked the waitress to take a look and was told that we could wait for another dish to be cooked but the waiting time was now over half an hour . Being tired we declined and left with no offering of a refund or even a free meal on our next visit.

Called for a spot of lunch omg so not what i expected....we were seated straight away.

Good quick eat if out and about, fast service, it was quiet when I visited though, east parking with easy access

We visit brewers Fayre at least 3/4 times a month and every time we come we have great service. There was a boy who worked on the bar (I think he was new but don’t know his name) he was very polite and nothing was too much for him. All the staff make an effort to talk to us when we come in and it makes us feel so welcome

Always a good place to get together with friends and our children. The indoor play area is great and they love it. Food and service is always good to.

We booked for a family celebration 20 of us.

Popped in for a drink and maybe some food, sat at the bar side of the restaurant deciding what to eat, we were there for approximately three quarters of an hour, every table around us was uncleared and messy, no one while we were there wiped or cleared any of the tables not even ours, we had to move glasses from our table to another. Also the upholstery to the seating is really bad and makes you think, do I want to sit here, clearly needs a re-vamp, looks dirty, as you guess didn’t eat, not good.

This is my second visit and it was amazing as the first one. We were greeted quickly and sat to a table in double quick time. We went to the till to order which the waiter done efficiently. I then took my daughter into the soft play area which kept her occupied until food arrived. Food took around 15 minutes to arrive and came piping hot. I thoroughly enjoyed the smothered chicken. All in all a wonderful visit. Top marks!!!

Really friendly, helpful staff but terrible food. I've eaten in other Brewers Fayre and had good food for the price but at Victoria Park the food is really bad. Chicken was under cooked and tasteless - almost like it had been boiled! The Feta cheese was off and had pink bacteria on it.

We paid for & were expecting a carvery breakfast & were surprised to see a member of staff appear at our table to take our order. If you wanted more you were unable to get it, no idea of amounts of mushrooms, beans, tomatoes or black pudding we were getting.

This is one of the better pubs in the chain with a warm welcoming interior and very nice staff. The menu has improved and the food is OK.

The restaurant was busy, but they accommodated our large family with relative ease, the food was good, no complaints here, staff were nice, restaurant was clean, happy days...

Have to the food here is great and so is the service. Very good selection on the menu and the prices are very good

Me and mum visit here quite regular. It's always a friendly place to go. The staff are lovely and more like family. the food is good and if you do have a problem, which can happen anywhere, it is always sorted by the team. Peak times are always going to be busy, so allow time for things to happen. Sundays it is highly recommended booking a table. So ... for good food, a happy atmosphere and lovely staff, (i speak as i find) then here is a lovely place to have a meal.

Visited here today with a family party of nine. It was a very quiet Saturday afternoon and because of this the food was excellent. I tend to find if it's busy here then the standard drops slightly but I couldn't fault it today. Mixed grill was excellent , full rack of ribs were lovely and my cousin had the chorizo pie which was also good. Oreo and Caramel Sundaes were to die for. A really lovely meal served also by lovely staff !!!!!

We stayed at the Premier Inn Ebbw Vale and the adjoining restaurant in The Brewers Fayre, Victoria Park. The hotel was excellent, rooms a good size and spotless. The Brewers Fayre was very welcoming and the menu offered good choices. Prices very fair.

Been here many of times whilst staying in the premier inn next door, one girl always stands out “Courtney” she is an asset to the buisness , very helpful and friendly! Food was lovely and breakfast is amazing, good price for everything they have on offer, they seem to have everything, but the bar guy was very miserable and didn’t know how to pour a proper Guinness ‍♂️ other than that no faults

Came here with friends for the evening. We brought the children. Brilliant play area inside. Outside play frame was great and we could eat outside and watch the children. Food was hot and tasty and the staff were really friendly and great to the kids. Will be returning

I had food here the other night and it was as good as usual , I had the cluck and ale burger off the new menu and I couldn’t fault it. Would recommend to anyone.

Came here on a Sunday for the carvery, the staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us, always there when we needed anything. The carvery was lovely and everything was replenished even though you could see they had been busy, lovely beef and the kids played in the play area and had a whale of a time, will deffo be back.

Another dissapointing visit to brewers fayre ebbw vale. Food poorly presented. Soup luke warm only gammon which was tasteless left on carvary. Smoothered chicken was badly presented no offer of mayo to compliment the very small portion of salad. It has always been dissapointing at Ebbw Vale. Abergavenny seems much better. It has improved over the past few months i spent £30 today childrens curry had no rice. Needs to be great improvements before i visit again.

Not the best visit we arrived tabled was reserved, placed order at the bar food took ages to arrive and when it did it looked like it had been warmed up in microwave dreadful, staff and atmosphere not the best to be honest and yeah i get a friday can get busy but really the standards have slipped, on staff member was wiping the table with a cloth but no antibacterial spray and the same cloth to wipe the next table so no wonder our table was sticky think its time to find somewhere else to eat

Lovely place. Smelt clean as soon as you walked in. When ordering food was told half hour wait and it was smack on 30 mins. Excellent place, excellent service, excellent food. Highly recommend

The combo feast came out no chicken coujons it was filled up with potato skins. My main meal the chip shop platter the fish was cold, battered sausage the skin was so tough you couldn't eat it and the whole presentation just doesn't make the food look appertising. Very disappointing!!!!

I come here most weeks with friends and family. We had a gathering of family abroad last night. Again an amazing night with great food and fantastic service. Jackie as always could not do enough for us and all the staff made the night fantastic and our family raved about the food ad service after. Thank you Victoria park amazing!

Today we had appalling service from the bar staff here at Victoria Park. Waited 10 minutes in a near empty house to be served for food and totally ignored by staff , one male who was more concerned with the local drinkers and keeping them happy at the other end of the bar until I had to say am I invisible as he continued to serve people before me. Then later had the gaul to say to another customer while we had our meal it's like a morgue in here today. My thoughts too about the bar staff service.

We had 3 evening meals and 1 breakfast here. We found the evening meals hit and miss with long waits. We went for the carvery of Sunday at 5pm to be told it was finished. Breakfast was fault free with fast service and pleasant staff. We used the restaurant because it is next to the Premier Inn and restaurant choice in Ebbw Vale is limited.

Well what can I say, the play area is fab for the children we come here most half terms to keep them occupied - there is a little bit of a wait on food (to be expected) but nothing too much trouble for the staff and the kids love coming there!! So thank you we will be back

We stayed in the Premier Inn next door on Saturday night and decided to stay for Sunday lunch with we thoroughly enjoyed. Plenty of variety, very tasty and all at a great price.

I visited the establishment with a friend of mine. I asked for a table for 2, the waitress put us on a table of 4. This resulted in a drunken party and in particular one loud individual to sit by us which spoilt the whole atmosphere.

Ordered 2 adults and 1 child meal. Food was cold and a total disappointment. Visit was only saved by the waitresses who were amazing Megan in particular. Won't rush back.

What a fantastic meal absolutely loved the set menu. Great choices on set menu fantastic service and hot food. We loved it!

Told in week cant book back room for kids first come first served turned up 11.20 told cant go in back room with kids fully booked make up rules to suit them selfs use this place regularly for the sake of the grand kids so they were really upset about it all but no problem wont use them again manager must be a total waste of time sack them who ever they are bad for business so there you are AVOID THE PLACE ITS EASIER BYE BYE

Arrived on mother's day with family. No table booked and was seated straight away. Absolute fantastic customer service by all staff. Special mention to " Gareth Jones " manager who endeavoured to keep us happy at every opportunity. Can I just personally say, what an amazing asset he is to your company and most definitely deserves HIGH recognition for his excellence in customer service. Well done fab job!! .. The Jones family

A solo unos pasos del hotel, y si no de la misma cadena, hermanados, tenemos este bar de comidas y cerveceria galesa. Aunque no esta mal, es demasiado moderno y sin mucho encanto estético. No hay muchas opciones en la zona.

My husband and I visit this establishment almost 3 times a week we love the staff they are always friendly and couldn't do more for us. I have trouble eating proper meals so my husband brings me here so that we don't have to cook and the food is always lovely. Thanks to all the staff at Victoria park we will be back soon!

Came here for breakfast on Tuesday, was pleasantly surprised by the standards. Plenty of selection in the continental buffet and nothing empty. The cooked breakfast was hot and fresh. Staff there couldn’t do enough for us and made us all feel welcome. Would definitely return here again. Good price for all you can eat

I visited here with my husband and 2 children! My children love the play area so we come here quite often! the staff are always lovely, and the meals are always perfect! Thank you manager Abigail and all the staff for making our experience perfect once again!

If I could give it a zero I would have, menu limited due to menu change, food came out in dribs and drabs even when ordered together tried to complain to the manger but he wasn’t interested, when my food finally arrived it was luke warm, when I mentioned this to the young boy who eventually did a table check he just shrugged his shoulders. If you call this good customer service I’d think again, wrote to head office they don’t care either.

Visit quite regularly as it’s pretty close and the kids enjoy the play area. We get buy one get one free vouchers posted through the door now and again so that’s always a bonus. Food is what it is, usually go for the burgers and they’re always consistent. The kids seem to enjoy they’re food also. They’re always busy there so bear that in mind and be prepared to wait for the food during weekends and holiday etc.

Visited at this restaurant a few times before and always enjoyed it. This visit was a real "let down" though. Sat down around 5pm on Saturday. The table was filthy and needed cleaning. The cloth was black from "table deposits"...disgusting ! The 2 folks sitting next to us were also cleaning their table !The restaurant told us our food would be a one hour wait which we said was fine. The starters arrived after about 30 mins which were fine. I had potato skins which were quite nice. My scampi and chips for main course was really disappointing. The actual scampi were nearly all batter with tiny prawns inside ! The food was lukewarm, just not worth the wait. A poor experience and a shame compared to previous good visits. They lost out as we didn't bother with breakfast the next morning too.

Came here yesterday - lovely staff, lovely food - came here today - changed menu and food very poor! Yesterday I ordered a chicken and bacon salad, lovely, fresh, grilled chicken was nice and lovely tasty pieces of bacon. Today however a totally different experience. It's been changed to a chicken and bacon ceasar salad with mozzarella and cheddar cheese - it came drenched in sauce, less variety of salad and no cheese of any kind and the chicken was stringy. The desert - yesterday I ordered a chocolate brownie at under £4 - today they want to charge £4.89?? It's gone downhill fast in the space of 24 hours! Never again. Extortionate prices for a poorer quality of food. No thanks.

We have eaten here many time and I’ve always given good reviews but today was not so good.

As with the hotel next door, the staff are the stand outs in this place. Very pleasant, very friendly and quick service. Had breakfast here twice (very good) and an evening meal once (okay).

We had an amazing breakfast here with friends ,there was plenty of welsh bacon and sausages to go round,and a fabulous atmosphere too,the waitress was fantastic making sure we got everything we needed and we had a lovely welcome,would definitely recommend eating in here.

We haven’t frequented this eatery for quite awhile, Started as a convenient stop off which turned out to be a very enjoyable evening. A new menu, friendly staff and presumably a new chef!! The Pork mixed grill was superb, and with 2 more mixed grill choices it won’t be long before I return

Visited a couple of times but on the last occasion the food was quite poor. I know you get what you pay for but I did expect better than a ready meal. The drinks are pretty expensive and that's where they make their money. Not a place I would recommend.

As a regular I came here for the Carvery as we have never tried it before. I have to say it does not disappoint!. We had a bit of all the meats and the veg is unlimited which my husband took full advantage of. There is also free soup which was a little watery but as soon as we mentioned it they changed it straight away. As always nothing is too much trouble for the staff here and will bow be booking every Sunday

Soup tasted like water, prawn cocktail had hardly any sauce and np more than 7 prawns, when I complained the waiter just laughed and walked away, it's a very poorly managed place, the manager needs to step up and train his young staff to be efficient and professional, tables not cleared, long wait between courses, takes an age to get served for a drink, no asking if everything is ok with the food, awful place I won't be returning, it didn't used to be like this maybe it has a new manager.

All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful but a special mention should be made of a young lady called Niamh, who looked after us at dinner on the first night. We had excellent, efficient service which couldn't have been bettered in a top rated restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble for her and yet the attention was not overpowering. This lady is a real credit to the organisation and should go far. The meal was excellent and a good menu to choose from. Breakfast was also first class and very good value. The meal was freshly cooked and served hot to the table. Good quality food

This place is my regular and I have never tried the breakfast before. The breakfast was lovely and hot , service was fast and our waitress was polite and couldn’t do enough for us. Thankyou for our perfect breakfast and I will be returning again!

Visited here with my family for what can only be described as one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! I was greeted by a lovely lady called Mandy who couldn’t do enough for us! She was absolutely outstanding and my kids loved her! Breakfast was lovely, so much choice and it was all very tasty and hot. I will definetly be returning
