Nice spoon in a bit of a run down town should be taken off the market there is nothing for the locals to go to if the pontiottyn closes down keep it

Lovely roaring real fire on this miserable wet day which is great to see as you enter. Quite full, only two small tables left, great buzz in there and lovely atmosphere. Haven't got a clue why they have decided to close this place. 😞

Popular local pub, good food and cheap ales.

Seriously!! Saturday evening, no chips, no chicken!! Offered sausages!! Get your distribution orders in place people,!!!?? it's Abertillery, we do even ask for much tbf!!! But seriously people!!!

The food was quite good but the chocolate out of the machine was disgusting it had run out and not been sorted changed it at the bar for a j2o

This is our local Wetherspoons and also the social hub of Abertillery The food can be a bit hit and miss as per most Wetherspoons but it’s not expensive. The service and warm welcome from Caroline is always genuine She goes above and beyond to make sure that everyone is happy and you can tell she genuinely loves her job We will be back and recommend you give it a try

Clean tidy place pub. Friendly helpful staff. Great atmosphere. Excellent food served all day and hot. Good prices for both food and drinks. Would recommend the pub for food and drinks. Old fashioned open coal fire roaring on a cold morning lovely to see

Popped in and ended up having 2 burgers , onion rings and chips , all cooked very nicely . The onion rings were fab !! Pub clean and staff helpful as always.

You get what you expect from a Wetherspoon. We love having breakfast here. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff.

As usual the heating is not on on just remember when visiting this pub to put on warm clothing. Ps don't ask them to put the heating on because most of the staff won't.

The place was lovely. A pleasant welcome for all. The food is usual wetherspoons quality too. What a shame the place has got to go. It's a local focal point. A pity bureaucracy gets in the way.

Went there today for breakfast. Not been for a few years. Food was spot on and so was the service. I couldn't fault it

20 mins for drinks, manager and girl on the bar stood around chatting. No wonder it’s closing down!

Meal was awful, ingredients were cheap, and not nice, chips were like cardboard, staff irritable and generally not nice

The food was absolutely vile I had a cooked breakfast in the morning. By the time I got to bed I was on the toilet being sick with a bad belly absolutely awful will never go back

Amazing Wetherspoons, a great head, manager,a Sarah your amazing.. so charismatic,staff well trained all of them,! great etiquettes a (PAM) however she needs a better attitude?!! this being towards other ethnic groups!! overall my food was always on point, hot, and delicious 😋.i hope JDW keeps on to this Lil gem, in the valley,its an asset to the valley. perhaps alil' hotel above 15rooms, only..as its situated, and not far from a newport.it could be much better, with the hospitality factor and combined, esp for wedding party's , birthdays, christenings, gatherings at Christmas 🎄a true benefactor in the local community and beyond..,if i could stay above,and cosied up with a hot chocolate,during the Christmas festivities, it'd be a great hotspot? especially for Those stopping over for the festive seasons.or just to get out ,in the fresh air.the altitudes are beautiful as abertillery has some great views, and a good bus infrastructure, theres cwmtilerry lake's, the tyleri river, truly full of outdoorsy pleasures.nature has its reservations! abertillery definitely wins my vote, for natural resources, ..(A beautiful valley, and in Scape)

Today we went into your pub me and my elderly grandparents. We got shouted at by a member of staff when we pointed out a item was missing off our food. Disgusting behaviour from a female member of staff who claimed she was the manager

This is my local place to have a beer, never any trouble, its comfortable and safe, staff are friendly and efficient, what more can you ask for,??.

Busy pub, serves a variety of meals at good prices. Low priced drinks with a good variety of beers and lagers. Parking is an issue. Nearest car park some distance from the entrance. There is wheelchair access and tables suitable for wheelchair customers

awful. they served eggs benedict with stone cold hollandaise sauce. when I mentioned it they offered to microwave the whole thing . ummm no cos then the eggs will be overcooked. kitchen staff must be really thick if they don't know what sauces are supposed to be hot!

Ordered a cheese panini. When it came the cheese wasn’t even melted so I complained then 2 minutes later the women came back and gave me my food back, they had put my food in the microwave to melt the cheese 😡

Shocking, my granddaughter was meeting her friends after gcse results, so we went as a family. Only to be thrown out , very publicly, by Abby, because my granddaughter took a sip out of my drink by mistake. Awful service, thrown put publicly in front of all my granddaughter s friends,definitely needs retraining in how to treat customers

Always a good welcome, great value and extensive drinks menu

Hi i spend alot of time here socialising with my friends after work, playing bingo on a wednesday, they have awsome quiz on sunday. The food is always well presented and piping hot, my favourite is the breast bites and i love the chicken korma on curry club nights. The staff are well mannered, helpful and pleasant and nothing is ever to much trouble. We have been out in beer garden a few times also when we have had nice weather and service is 2nd to none out there also. Overall great pub, great food, great baby guinesses, great cocktails great staff. Well done to all involved. X

Never been before and was very nice. Clean toilets but there was a damp smell. Order came quite quickly even though pub was quite full. Pizza was very nice and everyone in the group enjoyed their food

We went and had three breakfasts all were cold sent them all back the next three were as cold as the first sent them all back again the next three were all cold again we just gave up and had to eat the cold breakfasts

Nice meal friendly staff but very poor for parking nearby. Beware of local car park which closes at 8.30 pm

It's pretty safe to say I will never come here again first off we ordered breakfast off the app with the refill coffee waited 20 minutes no one came with the cups so had to go and get them, waited a further 25 minutes for the breakfast so 45 minute wait altogether also ordered toast but came with bread as some technical issue the beans were cold there was no bacon the egg was that hard if I'd thrown it it would of probably knocked someone out 😂 so for paying £17 hardly anything was eaten nobody came around to see if we were happy with our food, if I didn't have to rush off for an appointment I would of complained to the manager , also don't think they know what heating is it was absolutely freezing in there so safe to say pretty bad experience, I've never had a complaint against any other wetherspoons ponylottyn Abertillery you need to do better.

Nice warm atmosphere as expected from the valleys. Poured a lovely Leffe which I can't seem to get in the Cwmbran outlet.

The deputy manager is amazing. Every time my son and I go in he always makes sure all food etc is appropriately served (not too hot etc) and is so helpful

Drinks are fine. Food would be too but too many occasions there’s items missing and or it’s stone cold. Used to be good.

Always Amazing, Never Had A Bad Experience

Visited this pub on 8th December in the evening. Went there with my wife ,brother and sister in law. It was very cold at the back of restaurant and lovely and warm down by the bar.Asked if could turn heating up and was told they would but was still very uncomfortable. Not very pleasant experience. Would not be visiting any time soon.

Sorry to say this but we have been big supporters of the Pontlottyn but the breakfast last Saturday was not the best it was cold.

Went today won't return me and hubby had breakfast. Food wasn't warm would of sent it back was in rush.

Quick service, nice little place to pop in. Only had a quick drink so can't say much more than that.

Arrived fairly late, didn't have any food, so can't comment on that. Drinks fairly reasonably priced. Quite clicky, probably not the best place to go drinking on your own. Staff were helpful and accomodating but they probably are one or two pairs of hands too short at peak times.

Our goto place when we're in the area, the stuff are friendly as are the customers. Worth a visit.

Food was OK for the price. Unfortunately the staff are not too friendly 😕 quite a clicky place if your not a local.

Very friendly helpful staff... Food we had was amazing!! Compliments to the chef. We felt we went in as strangers but left as friends. Manager and staff took time to speak to you excellent at heir jobs a topped off with a game of pub bingo My mum has been ill but throughly enjoyed herself. Put I smile back on our our faces. I would say we would go go again, but we already have!!!

Food was good, nice atmosphere, staff friendly

food i had here was pretty good, chicken wasn't dry and an ample supply of chips and onion rings. drinks are reasonably priced and a nice selection at that. Only thing that lets the Pontlottyn down is the staff are sometimes quite rude but on the other hand some are quite polite. all in all would recommend dropping by if in Abertillery.
