Soon as we came in, it was a mess. Our table wasn’t cleaned for about 20 minutes. We were sat there for an hour before we received any food. No knife or forks, our drinks order was lost, and we had to ask again several times before having one, even after we paid. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Will not be attending again.

I never ever complain as I have worked in the hospitality industry myself and now how difficult it can be at times.. But the staff here, particularly the girl on the counter are terrible. Worst customer service I’ve ever received, not even a smile, just rude comments.. My advice would be smile and be more happy with customers and in general, it doesn’t hurt and makes your life much better. Shame as this location has great potential but the staff are not welcoming at all, won’t return.

I had previously left a review of 4*, saying staff were scatty but overall worth a visit. Editing now to a 1* . If you just want a drink and sit outside it's fine. However, if you if you want to sit and have food inside - go elsewhere. No one waits tables regularly, you need to go and ask staff to take your order. One waiter (young male, longish hair) slammed our food down with attitude after we had complained....the gravy jug came out empty, all the glasses were filthy, cutlery had food hardened on. Table toppers advertising food no longer stocked. We saw several other tables have the same issue. Sadly won't be going back, or suggesting anyone else goes either.

I'm a new addition to the Cardigan community and wanted to find a local watering hole to settle into and enjoy a couple of quiet pints on my own, and the Grosvenor looked to be a nice place next to the river with some fairly good beers on tap. I've been there a handful of times and each time has generally been a negative experience. It seems that if you are a bloke on your own you are singled out for poor treatment by staff and regular punters. Expect unwelcoming and rude staff, insults from locals, and being harassed from a table by locals who feel more entitled to the space you are taking up. Just horrendous all round, and I won't be going back. Surely there's a pub in Cardigan where you're not treated like a pariah.

We booked for lunch as advised . When we arrived we were told sit anywhere not too busy - which was great. On booking I asked if the lunchtime deal was available- I was told yes . When we sat and looked at the menus the lunchtime menu was stickered out ! So not available. We had burgers instead which were good . However we were both looking forward to the lunchtime deal ! Food and service were good. Dog friendly pub would return .

A surprisingly nice local pub in a small village which was very welcoming served great beers and had reasonable food. Everyone was very accommodating and the atmosphere was pleasant. You can play games in the bar area you can turn up in your walk-in clothes relaxing comfortable and good value.

Place was only half full yet told to come back to the bar in 10 mins to order food as there was a backlog? People came after us and ordered food straight away. I asked how long the wait for food would be and was told not long at all. Got a rose wine which came out of the fridge half full but was warm! When I finally ordered food after being ignored and walked away from at the bar a few times by the rude staff. Ended up waiting 50 mins! Place was grubby, Had to clean our own table and didn’t have cutlery and no one cleaned the tables around us the whole time we were there. Food came and for what we paid it was awful! Kids meals £8 without a drink and came on a saucer and the pizza if you can call it that was ridiculous! chips and fish fingers overcooked in old oil as you can see by the colour, paid £2.50 extra for the 3 meats on the roast and got less meat than on the 1 meat plate. Yorkshire pudding dumped on top was chewy. No one came over and asked how everything was. Don’t usually write reviews but was furious with the whole experience, the cost and waste of time and money spent in here. Pics below of the food before we touched it. AVOID!

Decided to grab a bite to eat while in the market . My wife had corned beef pie chips n peas . The pie had very little corned beef in it .the peas where overcooked and discoloured.Myself had ham egg n chips .The ham was from a packet .very thin what I would call plastic ham .. egg was great nice n runny .the chips left a lot to be desired for ,not that special ...should have really sent the food back .... but will say that the food on the counter looked really nice. Will we eat in that particular car again .Nope not again ..very disappointing

The view is amazing and food is nice, however the service is a mess- we ordered starters and desserts and half of my family got the starter while the other half got the dessert first. It was really weird to eat sundae before prawn salad, and even for this service we had to wait a lot, while the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. If I go back it’s only for the view
