Had a coupla beers here, they dragged the large bean bags out for us. There was just the 2, I felt very privileged 🫅 Everyone was walking past greedily eyeing them up, before they took to their hard chair 🤭 I was so disappointed when it began to rain & we had to give them up. This place is one of my fave’s. I’d only popped back to get some of their lovely food but we couldn’t sit on the benches with the rain. We returned a few weeks later but they’d closed until spring. I can wait.

Avoid. seriously disappointed as we dont get out for breakfast much and thought we would give this place a go. They serve the cheapest produce. bacon thin, undercooked and chewy, eggs swimming in grease. sausages needed a steak knife to cut. The bread roll was cheap and crumbly. beans luke warm. It's what you would expect in a cheap burger van and I'm sure a burger van would be better. if your looking for a nice breakfast head down to smugglers in amroth , thick butchers bacon , fresh eggs , beautiful rustic fresh bread , hot beans and slightly . These guys need to up their game and buy some better produce. just feels like we've been ripped off.

The poor bar man (who was wonderful) was on his own dealing with everyone at lunchtime. Rediculous to have 1 person behind the bar for a busy lunch. Please change your menu and make it more exciting. (It's been the same for months on end) The tartlets for starter was lovely on a bed of green leaved lushhess. A big thank you to the waiting staff too.

Delicious food, but an insultingly small portion, which was just about lukewarm. I didn't complain out of respect to my friend who had arranged the table as a treat for me. The waiting staff were fab, and the coffee was excellent. The first time I have left a restaurant feeling completely mugged off. Most certainly won't be going back.

Run by youngsters without supervision. Very slow service, considering the place was empty. Tables left dirty with used mugs/cups/plates etc. staff decided to clean the air con unit about the service counter, which displayed food etc. Customers in and out and walking around a ladder and other bits. Disappointed we had chosen this venue to meet up with friends, so many other choices in town.

Golf range has drastically declined in recent months. Some serious investment needed to keep attracting customers, tees missing nets falling apart, boundary nets non existent.

The booking was continually messed up. Full payment was demanded well in advance and I can see why. I don't think anyone in our group would have felt happy to pay full price on the day. It was more like a poor school dinner than a restaurant meal. My main meal was served cold, the potatoes were inexplicably leathery. The "roulade" was dry. How long had it stood on the side sliced I wonder? The large slab of paté balanced on a chewy piece of erm...bread? (Was it bread? Had it been microwaved? How was it this bad?) was truly revolting. Unsurprisingly at no point were any of us asked if our meal was satisfactory. I would describe service as sullen. Will not return here again. Always unpleasant to give a bad review but sometimes these restaurants need calling out, because sometimes they really are stretching their customers goodwill beyond their limits.

Four of us meet here for lunch every couple of months. We previously frequented the Marston chain but found the service appalling - what a refreshing change to come to the Rock where we were warmly greeted by the landlord and the staff are friendly. We usually have the Lunch Special which includes a main, a dessert and a soft drink or glass of wine for under £14. As the sign says 'this is an old fashioned pub' - it is a traditional pub with good old fashioned service and manners.

Dreadful experience. Refused food even though person in front was served. Opted for cream tea. Waited 20 minutes during which overheard staff saying that they'd run out of jam. Then saying that it didn't say which jam was provided. Dreadful looking scones then came with rustic looking blackcurrant jam. 10 more minutes and no tea so I went to ask where it was. They'd forgotten. Then 2 builders mugs of hot water with a teabag shoved in it were plonked in front of us. Not what I'd call a cream tea. Enough was enough and I asked for my money back. Exceedingly rude woman reluctantly agreed and then called me a liar by saying more than once that I was asked if I wanted a cup and saucer. ( I was not) Spoilt an otherwise pleasant day out. I was told nit to come back. No fear there!!!

Ok for a stop off didn’t order food as staff was overwhelmed with the amount of customers did manage to get a warm hot drink. Sadly the toilets were horrid and had all been closed for cleaning once the young lady opened them again they were still dirty and lacking toilet roll so made our way over the road to the public loos. Great views comfortable seating and that’s where it ends sadly.
