Staff very good, location excellent! Food poor and expensive! Called in on the way to Hereford Hospital and in need of a drink and food. Ordered Fish & Chips with Mushy Peas. Drinks were Pot of Tea and a Coffee. Teapot was chipped around rim and lid cracked with dirty stain. Coffee ok, but very small cup. Fish & Chips arrived and it was obvious that the Fish and the Chips were frozen before preparation, very tasteless and covered in excessive batter. I managed mine as we were in a rush and I was very hungry. My wife struggled to eat hers due to the quality. The staff were very good when I complained, but all they were allowed to do was knock off the drinks price. Still had to pay £25.00 for two basic meals that were very poor! It is a shame that the food department lets the whole store down.

Noisy, very busy cafe, long queues and slow service. We only had juice and a scone, which was bland and dry so can’t really comment on the food but I wouldn’t want to spend too long here.

4 of us went here for our Sunday lunch / carvery and we all had different meats these being Beef, Pork, Lamb and Turkey. Sad to say the turkey was the only decent meat to be had. The beef was tough, the lamb was fatty beyond belief ( why this was even carved and put on the plate is questionable), and the pork wasn't much better. Even the veg, of which there was a fair choice, was overcooked and too soft and the roast potatoes were under cooked. I had heard Oakchurch butchery and it's meat was very good so was expecting much better than what we got. We all left disappointed and would not go back or recommend.

I wondered if they have found out how to cook roast potatoe, or chips..they have not. they are still the same dry offering . Either frozen and oven cooked to death , or you need a new cook. My wife had chilli with rice again so dry probably done in a microwave. you must be able to do better.

We arrived with a small coach party en route to Brobury House. I enjoyed a huge, very tasty scone and a cup of coffee, it was quite pricy and I think one scone between two would be plentiful. The restaurant appears very popular with the locals and there was a queue for lunch as we were leaving. Tables had a timed reservation on them so it would probably be best to book.

Visited this week for lunch. A varied selection of hot meals on offer - chose the casserole which was served with freshly cooked veg. A nice meal, served hot and tasty. Had previously reviewed Berries and had not enjoyed the meal on that occasion - pleased to enjoy a much better experience this time. The staff were efficient and it appears the seating area has been improved. Coffee was good and served hot - suspect an upgrade in quality and/or better equipment. Good value for money.

Was hoping for a mixed grill which is what I had the last time we visited but unfortunately it wasn't on the menu. I went for the carvery and wasn't disappointed. I had pork and beef which were both really tender and more than enough of each. there was a good choice of veg and someone to serve it to us. All staff were extremely friendly although it was very busy and we didn't have to wait too long. Thought we may have a problem finding a table but there were quite a few plus we could have gone outside and sat in the sun or in the shade - good choice.

Try to get here most wednesdays for the roast lunch, carved in front of you unless you are early, just before 12 noon, when the girls will take your order and then when service is ready they will deliver to your table. This is in my case at present as i am on an elbow crutch and cant carry a tray.As usual the roasts are choice of Beef,Pork or Turkey, large or small portions with usual extras, crackling, york pud and all sauces. At least 7 vegetables and potatoes and their gravy is to die for.Extensive blackboard menu and they cater for all food allergies and diets etc.;Lovely friendly staff. The only downside of the place is that the toilets are outside by the main entrance which is a fair step from the restaurant.

This restaurant is situated within a farm shop complex. We visited on Easter Monday and it was very busy but the staff were so friendly and helpful. We both had the mixed grill which consisted of an egg, sausage, black pudding, small piece of liver, small but thick piece of bacon and a small piece of steak, served with chips. The meat was all delicious, it had presumably come from the quality butchers in the farm shop. The steak was better than some I have had in an expensive restaurant.

Have been here for lunch many times. Usually a good selection of dishes on offer with freshly cooked veg - tasty & worth the money. Not so this week - ordered the "regular" roast meal : served on the same sized plate as the small option, two very small slices of meat, small scoop of mashed potato, only half a scoop of swede, "roast" potatoes blackened on one side & very greasy, gravy also very greasy in appearance & taste. The cabbage was nicely cooked but again very small portion.

My wife and I have stopped here a few times and have always been impressed by the service and the selection. My wife avoids gluten and was quite surprised when she asked if there were any gluten free options and was told that, if she didn't mind the extra few minutes wait, they would make up a gluten free batter so that she could have the fish and chips that she really fancied. I had the honey roasted ham, they were both brought out together and delicious.

First off, I should start by saying, I've stopped off at oakchurch for a coffee and some cake many times before and I've been very happy.Unfortunately, at best, it's a coffee and cake shop and definitely can't be described as a restaurant. I've recently had what is described as 'Christmas dinner with all the trimmings' which was little more that a tiny plate of poorly cooked vegetables and some dry turkey. Genuinely, my Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, was 3 sprouts, half a carrot, a potato (which was the driest things I've ever put in my mouth) a little piece of turkey which has undergone the same dehydration process and the potato, whatever that may be and some gravy which may as well of been brown water.

Excellent choice of food from a snack to full meals. Beautifully cooked and presented. Your order is taken and then delivered to your table without too long a wait. Word of warning, they do not accept card payments, only cash, rather antiquated in this day and age!!!! There is a sign on counter informing you of this but it cannot be seen when there is a queue so be prepared and have cash available. It gets very busy at weekends and is renownded for roast dinners.

We called onto Oakchurch en route to Kington. The shop includes every aspect of country life: meat, veg, fruit, cheese, breads, preserves, plants, clothes, books, cards etc........ All are carefully chosen to be of high quality so some may find it a bit pricey but it seemed to be very good value. The staff were exceptional: very well informed about the products and willing to advise and help but not push or interfere. We the went for Sunday lunch in the carvery and again were delighted with the staff\; all cheerful, helpful well informed yet speedy and efficient without making one feel on is being rushed. There was very good choice and the prices were very reasonable. We popped to Oakchurch (which is lovely for fruit, veg and meat!) and decided to try the coffeeshop for lunch. We both had the steak and ale pie - I don't normally eat pastry as I have a bit of an aversion to a small amount of filling dwarfed by a huge amount of stodgy pastry, but I needn't have worried! The meat was absolutely gorgeous and there was a large helping of meat. The pastry was also really nice. The vegetables were fine - cabbage, red cabbage, carrots and roast potatoes. A very nice lunch!

My initial reason for visiting here was because I read that they offered free wifi. You have to walk through each section of the Oakchurch shop before you get to the cafe. They sell various items from local produce, to gardening and pet items, to cards, books and games. The quality of the food in the shop is pretty high so the pricing is to be expected. However, the shops are well worth browse. Upon arriving in the cafe, I decided to treat myself to a large cooked breakfast consisting of, two rashers of bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms, black pudding, two fried eggs and a slice of toast. At a pricey £6.50, I had high expectations. Thankfully, I was not left disappointed. I assume the ingredients used to make this breakfast is locally sourced. So with that in mind, perhaps the price is not so bad after all. I decided to have a pot of tea to go with it. After my £7.80 purchase for the both, I found a table that had power nearby and got myself wired. The breakfast arrived. I was not disappointed! Definitely of high quality and it even filled me up. Marks out of 10? Definitely a 9. Not somewhere I would always go for a breakfast, but most certainly somewhere I will come back to for a special treat. Also: I saw lots cakes consisting of a mixture of scones, cheesecake and other tasty desserts. They looked very impressive. Plus the girl at the counter said they were all made on site. I was just disappointed I had no more room to try one of them. Speaking of staff. The two girls that served me clearly know the importance of delivering excellent customer service. Service with a courteous smile goes a long way in my book. They exceeded my expectations today. Sorry I did not get their name, but very well done! I shall return! :)

We both ordered the ploughmans which contained: home cooked ham, Stilton, cheddar, homemade coleslaw, homemade apple chutney, homemade pickled red onions, salad (which had the most amazing homemade dressing) and a chunk of homemade bread. It was delicious! The bread was still warm when it arrived. You can also purchase a jar of their homemade chutney and salad dressing for £1.50. We also had a rock cake and a piece of fruit cake which were both homemade and very tasty indeed. Both had great coffees to go with our meal. The service was fast and friendly. Very reasonably priced for good sized portions as well. Only downfall would be that the toilets are outside but apart from that, the whole experience was perfect! We were passing and stoped at the Oakchurch farm shop, then decided on impulse to eat at Berries Restaurant which is inside the farm shop. To call it a restaurant is stretching it a bit, but it's superior to most garden centre and supermarket cafes. There was a bit of a queue to get in, but the counter service was pleasant and efficient, there was plenty of seating and good views out of the windows. When our meals were brought to the table we were pleasantly surprised - we both had jacket potatoes and both were served wih decent salad and a lot of topping. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and considering with the very competitive prices I would recommend this as a good alternative to bar meals and fast food.

I would class this as more of a cafe than a restaurant. The signs to the restaurant in the maze of a place just stop and you have to find your own way. There were three hapless staff serving behind the counter and more in the kitchen behind. We were the only two at the counter ordering brunch but yet it took half an hour to order a bacon sandwich, veggie breakfast (not advertised), tea and latte. The latte completely perplexed the young lad who then abandoned us to serve someone else before we could pay - two other people were served and paid before us! If I hadn't been standing for so long with a broken foot, it might have been comical. When I turned to walk to my seat the queue behind was very very long. We then waited an awfully long time for our food, by which time our tea and coffee were cold. When the food finally arrived, the bread for the bacon sandwich was stale sliced plastic bread and only two rashers of bacon. The veggie breakfast was swimming in oil, one small pat of butter for barely cooked toast and cheap catering sauces. Not what you'd expect from a farm shop with a deli on the side. The cakes looked home made but having spent £12.45 on very mediocre food, we weren't prepared to pay more. This poor quality put us off spending any money in the food hall, which had been the whole purpse of this visit. Sadly we won't be returning.

The pub is amazing and has a nice atmosphere, the restaurant is lovely and the food excellent ! The staff are all really eager to please, the breakfast as I mentioned was excellent with great service ! Room 12 is a challenge for a 6’2 person but comfortable ! The bath should be replaced with a shower cubicle really but can’t fault the place overall and will always come back even if in room 12 :-)
