First and last time that I use this place. Over inflated price for two bottles of pop. Can only assume that the extra £1.60 charged , was for the sponsored silence that every customer before and after us was greeted with by the member of staff serving.

Stopped in at the Bath House on a Wednesday lunch time with my wife, friends, and a total of 4 dogs. There was ample seating outside in the sun, and food was ordered. The steak and onion baguette was excellent, ample tasty filling, perfectly cooked, and supplied with a nice little side salad and crisps. The addition of some Roquita Chilli Pepper pearls was a pleasant surprise and gave a great wee lift to the meal. Great service from polite and professional staff finished things off. Would strongly recommend to others.

I’d never been fortunate enough to get a bench, but this was my lucky day. We’d already eaten so only had ice cream, but when I checked out that menu I wish I’d had room for more. There was a good variety, & fantastic prices! The food that was bought out looked well presented & most delicious. They serve alcohol too! I’ll be back.

We normally eat on the deck but decided to try their bench area. We had jacket potatoes - chicken & bacon and chilli con carne. Busy so took a while - surprised when the meals came out in polystyrene containers, but this was probably because we were in the bench area.

Ordered a glass of milk and i asked if it was pasteurised, I was asked 'what sort of question that was and that all milk was the same' by the man serving me. I said not all milk is the same and why would he choose to question me! We then went on to order deserts from the menu which were priced at £4 each (choc brownie) with a scoop of ice cream, along with a scone priced at £5 also 3 cans of pop priced at £2 each. We were charged £8 for the 3 cans of pop when it should have been £6, charged £5 for the chocolate brownie (as we had 2 scoops of ice cream, although he could clearly see as he made them we only had 1 scoop of ice cream) and the scone was not a nice Devon scone it was some cheap soggy thing with sulatans! We also asked for a side of chips, he then said they don't sell chips but still charged me for them!! I ordered another desert in place of the chips. I then went onto question the price and asked for money back as I had been overcharged for him to say if I give him an extra £2 for the extra desert we can leave it at that time save all the hassle!! There was no hassle on my part I just wanted what I paid for plus the money back for what I was overcharged. He then went onto blame another employee for the mistakes stating he was a new guy although he made the sale himself. Basic maths and manners are much needed in this type of industry and on this occasion this man clearly had none. Was very, very rude! Would never retun here!!

I have visited this cafe since I was a little girl, now I am 30 and a regular Barmouth visitor, but sadly not to here. I have left a review previously, but met up with another family here. Ordered drinks… the milkshakes were just ice cream which couldn’t get up the straw and 2 coffees… a milky Nescafé - unlike the description it was not made with milk it was a poor coffee, my husband’s caramel latte also left a lot to be desired. I will never be returning. The staff come across as rude, the tables are not clean and they have a table number, yet still scream the order number from the door. Strange.

Come to Barmouth a few times a year Really used to enjoy going to this cafe, however I think the owners have changed. Ordered a Mexican chicken burrito, said on the menu that it came with melted cheese on top, coleslaw and tortilla chips. However it was a tiny wrap, wasn’t toasted at all, literally just a wrap, with no cheese ( I even confirmed when laying that we wanted cheese) missing everything that was listed in the description, other than some ready salted crisps. Not worth £8.50 Also ordered a banana milkshake that we had to send back as you couldn’t even take a sip, it was literally ice cream shoved into a plastic couple, no banana at all. £5 for that cup of ice cream. If they tasted and tried their own food they definitely wouldn’t serve it to customers. Also ordered a carrot cake, but was told they’d have to defrost it first. Then when it came it was very obvious they hadn’t made it themselves. Very very over priced place, staff have no idea what they’re doing, people sat next to us had to send their food back more than once. Place needs a good clean. Such a shame as it’s a lovely location. Won’t be going here again next time we’re down.

Difficult to identify the main concern; the food was over priced and mediocre; queuing for food and drinks alongside people buying nets and footballs for the beach seems a lopsided approach to ordering; perhaps the local character, who stamped and huffed whilst serving, rolled his eyes when asked for ketchup and then spent time ordering other guests on what they should do. Loved the balcony and location. Loved the view. Will wait for the business to change hands before visiting again. I suggest you do so as well.

The WORST experience of our lives. Sausages were raw, bright pink and so fatty you couldn’t even chew through them. Visit here every time we come to Barmouth (at least twice a year). We ordered milkshakes, slushies, a brownie and ice cream, waffle and ice cream and sandwiches. Drinks were okay, but the food was below average. Brownie arrived with no ice cream, no waffle came and when asked, a potato waffle had been put on the bacon bap! So she went to get a waffle ‘made’. I think for the price of the food, the standards should be much higher.

We stopped off here after a bracing walk on the wonderful beach. The Bath House stands on its own overlooking and on the deco of the beach. it has tables outside and, even in late October, we were comfortable using them, surrounded by the picturesque town and hills. Been going to the bath house for years...but no longer. We were served by a young girl who yawned constantly while we ordered (no hand to her mouth either) while she asked ‘anything else’ after each thing we said, ordered 2 milkshakes and 2 beers £18 later we went and sat down in the conservatory which was filthy, tables dirty, seats full of crumbs, floor hadn’t been cleaned in some time, and instantly regretted going here, plenty of other places to go in Barmouth where you’ll be greeted with respect and not charged the Earth! We did encounter a small problem on our visit but was soon dealt with by the very polite and nice gentlemen that served me.We only had 1 drink each on this occasion slightly higher prices than other places near by but this isn't a bar it's a very nice ice cream palor / cafe so understandable. Plus sides very nice staff and absolutely stunning veiws. Down sides the white wine unfortunately wasn't nice at all ! Tho without a comment swapped for a pint ( which was very nice) and only a slight thing but for myself who doesn't like to use public toilets- the sign very confusing, although I understand why it's labelled As it is I had to ask twice where to go. My husband and I recently visited Barmouth with our young family. Tired and restless, my husband took our eldest daughter to sit in the car whilst our youngest daughter stayed with me in the push chair. I was tasked with picking up lunch for our brood and, not fancying fish and chips, I hankered after a sandwich of some kind.I headed for Bath House Cafe on the sea front in search of lunch. But alas, when I got there, I was faced with a narrow entrance and steps into the cafe, both of which are a bad combination for a push chair.I asked at the ice cream hatch if it was at all possible for me to order a sandwich to take away. Whilst this was an unorthodox practice at the ice cream hatch, the staff were only too happy to oblige. I ordered a cheese baguette. It arrived quickly and I was on my way back to the car for lunch with my family.Once everyone was settled, I unwrapped my baguette I was so looking forward to. And what a disappointment. I have never seen such an unappetising baguette in all my life. It was just packed of cheese, it was disgusting! The baguette itself looked underbaked, too. I pulled it in half as it hadn't been cut, and tried it. And the looks matched the taste. There was oh so much cheese! And not a single piece of salad or mayo to break down the dry cheese. Needless to say, it went in the bin. It would have been better to throw my £6.50 in the bin instead!

Disgusting place, wouldn’t eat there if I was starving! Tried one of their whippy ice creams after having some what basic food that you would resemble closely to a kids party. The ice cream had mould on it, literally mould! Think it’s time to clean the machine, poor girl serving me looked embarrassed and made me a new one without question. As I was queuing I also noticed there isn’t much care taken between which ice cream scoopers used, meaning ice cream with nuts and any other allergies people may have are cross contaminating, very concerning, which is why I didn’t go for that ice cream, wish I had, what’s worse?? Go to Barmouth most summers and went for a weekend, ordered some food with hot and cold drinks. It’s amazing what you observe whilst waiting in a cramped area to be served, thus compelling me to detail below....

Having done a walk from Barmouth and returned in the rain we looked for somewhere to have a hot drink. I wish we hadn't chosen the Bath House. Having ordered a tea and a coffee the tea was served in a mug with the milk obviously sour. It tasted off as well so was returned to the counter (no waitress service here). The young lady serving looked offended that I was returning the drink and asked whether I wanted a refund and was then completely thrown when I said I wanted a drinkable replacement. The manager checked the milk where two plastic 4 pint bottles were open and being used but with the tops left off between customers. The manager did open a new bottle and the replacement drink was fine. It was the attitude shown that I was offended by which seemed to be my fault for daring to complain. We won't return.

There was plenty of choice on the menu but the food we did have was average to say the least. An overpriced cheese and tomatoe baguette, an imposter of a burrito ( not a grain of rice in sight! Just a bit of spicy chicken, in a tortilla, with some cheddar chucked on top and melted, far from mexican) a very mediocre hotdog and to top it off, they didn't sell chips!? Rather surprised a sea front cafe, in a seaside resort, doesn't sell chips..... and the coleslaw served with the meals was really bland and tasted like the value range from a supermarket...?Redeemed itself slightly with its yummy milkshakes. Really thick and tasty. Also bathroom facilities non existant - using the staff toilet with no lock and the fact that dogs were also allowed inside put me off ( which we didnt know until halfway through our meal, when a dog was brought in,) on the terrace, ok fine, but this was one of the reasons we sat inside, so that our dog obsessed two year old didnt spend the whole lunch time trying to play with the dogs.Would give it a miss next time.

We visit this area of Wales often and we always make sure we drop in for a milkshake, they are great! There was also a gin bar- although I didn't sample as was driving! You can sit indoors or outside with both options overlooking the beach. The only thing that seems odd is when you place a food order, you are given a number and sit yourself at any table whether indoor or outdoor the number of times the waiter walked past all the indoor customers and shouted the number outside then had to come back in, made me wonder why they don't just have permanent table numbers so they know where customers are seated-(e.g 1-10 indoors) as this pretty much happened with every order going out? Anyway by the time my lunch had been walked around the cafe, it was great -just a toasted sandwich nothing to rave about but good lunchtime snack food! Will definitely continue to visit when we next return.

We went here for a snack & all wished we hadn't. The bread in the so called baguettes was flabby and had no flavour. One of our party is a vegetarian and had requested a cheese panini. When it arrived and they'd taken a bite, they discovered the cheese was off. They then noticed it had tuna on the side of the bread (another member of the party had ordered a tuna panini). They took the sandwich to the staff and explained the situation and was met with an empty stare. Apart from the fact that this is very unhygienic, if the person in question had had an allergy to fish, or couldn't eat it for religious reasons, the situation could have become very serious. All 3 members of the very young staff couldn't even apologise. We were disgusted, and asked for our money back. Do not eat here, it's not cheap, and the food is disgusting.

Lovely friendly cafe bar right on Barmouth beach with stunning views! Would recommend the coconut & lime thick shake which is the best milk shake I've ever tasted! Looking forward to going back again for another or maybe next time I'll try a gin from their great selection on offer! Staff and service were great too! Definitely worth a visit !

It is a pleasure to visit the Bath House Cafe. With it being very dog friendly, lovely food and drink we always isit when in Barmouth. The staff are lovely - especially the owners who always give us a warm welcome. On hot days it is nice to sit outside and there is plenty of room. The best view in Barmouth when having a latte.

Been visiting Barmouth for more than 20 years never been here before. Had an early morning cuppa on arrival in town which was lovely. Came back with friends later.Returned next day for lunch which was lovely and finishing our short break with s glass of wine while my son plays in the sand. Lovely polite staff, only let down is the one toilet that could have been better but they are restricted for space. Will definitely be back on the summer .☕️

Stopped off for a quick drink having walked over Barmouth Bridge. Daughter thought the milk shake was to die for - got strange looks asking for vimto and white choc but it was gorgeous. Our coffee and tea were as you would expect. Lovely to sit outside in the sunshine.

We were treated like Royalty when we visited today. I'd like to thank Joy, Gary and their staff for looking after us. A stunning location - the kids can play on the beach right in front of you. Great food, huge array of ice creams and lovely real ales. We will be back next visit. Thanks again.

Visited for a family lunch whilst on holiday in the area. Looked nice & allowed dogs, so thought we'd give it a try. Absolutely awful, worst meal I have had in years. Barely warm jacket potato, warm brown tuna mayo - which I scrapped off because I was quite convinced it could make you ill & why was it warmer than the potato??? Tiniest bit of salad, barely worth it. Husband had a burger that clearly had been microwaved. Kids had hotdogs served in baguettes!!! Which my youngest struggled to chew. Located in a beautiful place but a total let down. Absolutely disgusting & waste of money, we left most of it. Best bit was the Diet Coke - although served in tin - no offer of straw or glass - even told to get our own out of fridge. If in area, totally avoid this place.

I can never visit Barmouth without visiting The Bath House .....every day!!! I have a long standing love affair with this place and it's ice cream/milkshakes and will through a teddy kicker tantrum if anyone suggests visiting anywhere else. The staff are always warm and welcoming, the place is always spotless and being able to sit, and enjoy whatever delight you've chosen,on the back balcony is my idea of bliss. You can't visit Barmouth without this place having a visit it's the law!!!! Lol

Had a quick bite to eat here during our visit to Barmouth. Lovely position as it's right on the beach but the food was very average. Seemed to have a good range of milkshakes tho. High chairs for the little lad and baby changing (if not a little cramped, on a window sill in the toilet but did the job). All in all a decent venue but nothing special.

Meifod Country House is perfectly positioned for Caernarfon, Anglesey, the mountains and the coast. It’s a lovely old building, extremely comfortable and the staff are delightful. The house is decorated to a high standard and the antique furniture is beautiful. Tripadvisor needs updating as there is no restaurant at Meifod House. The only food available is breakfast - standard help yourself continental and what looked like well cooked hot breakfast if requested (we didn’t have cooked breakfast). We only saw and met two staff during our stay, both of whom looked after us very well - nothing was too much trouble. Our bedroom (Brymer), overlooks the field to the side of the property. The bed is enormous and very comfortable. The bathroom is huge, with a double ended bath and shower attachment attached to the taps (no actual shower). Good big towels, high quality bed linen, and a fridge in the room. When we return to the area we will stay here again. I recommend it highly.

What a great spot! We had a great visit to this secluded pub on the beach. There are two places you can park, at the Golf Club car park with a cost of around five pounds through an app, from here you walk over the golf course on the path/road to the pub. Or, you can park further down on the National Trust car park and walk along the beach to the pub. We parked at the golf club, walked over the golf course and then walked back along the beach and back up to the golf car park. The beach walk is great. There was a DJ on when we went and that gave it a good atmosphere outside we did not sit inside as the weather was OK. Food was available although we did not order anything. Friendly staff who served at the outside bar. Be careful of the closing times as that can be early if there is not an event on.

Stopped for breakfast in the cafe, it was lovely. The small breakfast is big enough for most! Cafe clean, staff friendly and importantly the toilets were very clean. Highly recommended 👍

Visited this pub while on a solo break away with my dog a couple of weeks ago and it was a fantastic atmosphere, great service, lovely food and I have to give the highest praise to the lady (who I think was a manager or supervisor) (gutted I didn’t catch her name) but she was so friendly and welcoming, she made a fuss of my dog even giving her some doggie treats which went down (a treat) 😆would definitely recommend this place and will be sure to visit again next time I’m passing!!
