Very fast service. Food could of been hotter

Awful experience, one of your female barstaff was completely rude when serving me and my friend, understandably she was stressed on a busy shift but taking that anger out on a customer when I had been nothing but polite towards her, especially after an extremely long wait to order, is in no way tolerable customer service

Family of 4, food ordered placed via the app for ease. Was made aware of a 15 mins wait for food. Drinks arrived quickly. After 20 mins of waiting we asked about our order we were told it would be out shortly. 2 others tables close by us with groups of 4 arrived after us, yet received there food order before us. After a 40 minute wait our food arrived, 3/4 meals served were cold! Steak was supposed to be medium and was well done. Went to speak with staff to have the cold food replaced, but decided on a refund. We like to eat at wetherspoons as it's cheap and cheerful but sadly on this occasion it wasn't. We have never had an issue with any of the wetherspoons we frequent. This was a first and hopefully last. We will not be visiting The Black Bull Inn anytime soon.

My friend and I thought we’d try Wetherspoons Bangor for a change but I won’t be rushing back for food. My friend chose beef lasagne and chips which she enjoyed and it looked quite nice. I had steak and kidney pudding, mash, tinned peas and ordered extra portion of roasted veg. Both meals were delivered in less than 10minutes of ordering at the bar, faster than a McDonalds drive thru! My meal didn’t look very appetising, the mash was splattered on the plate and had been ‘over microwaved’ as had hard lumps in it, the gravy was lumpy, the S&K pudding was small, again microwaved which spoiled the pastry top. I had a ‘desert spoon’ size of the extra roasted veg in a little bowl and some pale tinned peas on the plate. Very disappointing.

Ordered food and drink. Food arrived after 10 mins. Finished food and still wating for drinks 50 minutes later. Was really understaffed but still ridiculous. Poor management!

Same as all Wetherspoons, tables are never clean when you sit down. Staff are very busy. Only 1 member of staff serving yesterday so it was a bit slow to get served. Coffee from machine was very watery

Cheap drinks and delivery table service but table service is slow due to always being busy. Overall great atmosphere and will definitely keep visiting.

Hello Citizen of Welsh Lands. Nice to meet you my name Borat. I brought brother Bilo into here to give him first taste of stronk drink but he was refused entry as they do not server 8 years olds for some reasons. Not pleased and is not my usual great success. Much dissapoint.

We had evening drinks and dinner here, and breakfast on the way home.. Much cheaper than the (nice) hotel we were using. The Black Bull had a cosy atmosphere with friendly staff and patrons.

Great spot for dinner, the food is good quality and to be expected for the price. However i would be mindful of which days and times you decide to go, as it can be full of students during fridays and the weekends, and can become quite loud and lively. Still a good spot to have dinner with the family.

Never brings straws to the table when asked for

Missing item of the menu . Pasta. Mixed grill was not that good here the chip looked like they had been standing for a while plus rubbish portion. The meat was over cooked and dry . Not a good mixed grill!

We had an extremely disappointing experience at this establishment. The young woman serving displayed an alarmingly poor attitude, repeatedly rolling her eyes when I sought clarification about the menu. The menu did not specify the wraps were available in different sizes. When I inquired about the options, the staff member responded with an attitude and continued to be rude throughout the interaction. She behaved as though she was doing us a favour by simply performing her duties as a waitress. The young woman displayed a noticeable attitude problem, which is unacceptable to bring into the work environment, particularly when interacting with paying customers, or anyone, for that matter. She displayed a distinct lack of natural customer service skills, likely exasperated by insufficient staff training.

Typical Spoons, good priced drinks and the usual meal with 16 chips! Bar was very busy and had to wait quite a while to be served. A pleasant outdoor seating area at the back. You know what you are going to get you have a choice!

Bar service & table cleaning is shambolick , One person is serving on bar with nothing in place to who in next to be served , just whoever shouts loudest , bar man takes no notice of who is next , had to clean our own table & it’s not that busy at 2.30 pm the students haven’t returned to Bangor yet . Very poor:-(

This is the only pub I know that if you Laugh Nod off Enjoy yourself to much Answer back knowing you right drunk YOU GET BANNED went to weathers caernafon you can laugh and joke and all this and very diffrent to bangor weathers and people much nicer and down to earth,,da iawn chi popol caernafon,,,

Unfortunately not the best. My jacket potatoe with chilli was so dry. Husbands all day breakfast was ok. We visited at a quiet time of day and the service was not the best. A waitress came out with a plate of food, didn't know who it belonged to so just left it on a random empty table 🙈 it belonged to a fella sat at the other end of the room so he had to go for it himself. We also witnessed another couple of families that had to take plates of food back as their orders were incorrect. Dont think I would hurry back there unfortunately

Busy pub different and a variety of ages for customers from families with young children to young ladies groups and a few young men's group's all enjoying the good atmosphere xx

Stella completely flat and in wrong glass, place wasn’t busy at all. Pot washer must not have turned up. Young girl who served me was rude, had a face like thunder, and was acting as though I was inconveniencing her day by bringing her back these awful stellas. Came for food, ended up drinking half our replacement Punk IPA’s and swiftly got out of there avoiding the sticky menu all together. This is the second time we have been to the Black Bull inn and will surely be the last. Me and the wife visit Wetherspoon’s regularly with our favourite spots including the Moon under The water in Manchester and the Castle Hotel in Ruthin. AVOID the Black Bull Inn, the staff care more about idle chat amongst themselves than serve customers and clean tables. One of the staff was serving drinks with her hood up. Unbelievable

Hot food served fast and a drink thrown in. Large open bar/seating area and outdoor seating.

Had a good meal here and used the app as bar looked busy with A-Level students celebrating. App worked well and drinks then food came quickly. Staff were very helpful and smiley. Also used the disabled toilet with a wheelchair user which wasn't too bad. Grateful for the facility. Always appreciate Wetherspoons when looking for a meal when travelling as they serve till quite late, have good choice, and are very cheap! Well done Wetherspoons, great business model.

Just needed a quick wet and we happened to be in Bangor. Where else but the local Wetherspoons for a cheap all you can drink cup of coffee? And so it came to pass that we found ourselves sat in The Black Bull Inn on Bangor High Street. We sat our behinds on the uncomfortable chairs, after pouring our own coffee at one of the machines nearby. It was hot, it was coffee, it was Bangor. It was coffee in Bangor. The pub was entirely forgettable, nothing stood out at all. It was drab, it was dull, it was a lower end Wetherspoons if truth be told. But we did get coffee AND it was in Bangor.

Had the mixed grill , chicken wings as extra. The meat was extremely overcooked , worst I've had at a wetherspoon. sausage was nice but cold. Chicken wings cold. Was busy today, so had to wait a bit which is fine , but the food was terrible.

More space than you’d expect, split level space with tables a’plenty to sit eat and drink. Food was well presented and tasty all at a decent price.

Entered with my family and a small well behaved dog. Ordered food and drinks and sat down in beer garden. Only to be informed that dogs aren't allowed afterwards. Staff were awkward and unprofessional. Bit of a run down dump.

Went to this pub for a few drinks after my mothers funeral with a few friends. We were sitting in the beer garden when a member of staff came over and asked my friend to turn his phone off as he was playing a tune on his phone. My husband tried to explain to the glass collector who claimed she was the manager!!!! Which she wasnt!! And she just ignored him and went back in then she came out of the cellar door with the so called manager and then accused us of swearing at her which we didnt. We are in out late 5os, 60s and 70s and would not verbally abuse some kid who was on a power trip claiming she was the manager! But there you go. How times have changed. We will never frequent weatherspoons again ever and yes on leaving we vwrbally abised the kids on a power trip!! Manager my backside!! One upset and pissed off ex landlady who knows the rules and regulations of a pub and perfomance rights!!

Egg, sausage. Bacon wrap was cold but didn't bother complaining as it was a busy time and I only paid just over a fiver Inc Guinness.

Just like every other weatherspoons. Although that's not a criticism.

Really nice staff, lovely pint of leffe and a top notch small meat feast pizza. Very friendly locals aswell.

Visited yesterday staff not very friendly behind the bar not good customer service. We also saw someone being removed from there he was asked to leave ? While you are on holiday.

Went here for breakfast, which was really good and reasonably priced with free coffee/tea refills, large seating area, plenty of space, very friendly staff, disabled parking was the only downside

I've never sat for two hours waiting for my order. At first they didn't take the order correctly, then they told me and I waited 40 minutes, then they told me to wait another 20 minutes. But after another 1 hour I still hadn't received anything Disgusting service Would not recommend to anyone

Staff are too young, no organisation, dirty tables, condiments empty, 1 member of staff serving a very busy city restaurant, absolutely ridiculous! 4 out of 4 meals were incorrect and very late arriving, who does your staff rota? That seriously needs addressing. We shall never eat there again! Sort this out, You need a restaurant manager over the age of 35,

Efficient, friendly, v.helpful service from Mr Mullet (sorry dude you were too busy to get yr name). Excellent fish and chips (peas were discoloured & tasted as if they'd been in water for several hours)

Went in for a brunch and a couple of drinks with my brother, and we both ordered a small breakfast, in which we added extras on top, even though it's was busy drinks came in around 5min and our meal came 20min later, the food was ok except for the bacon slightly dried but edible, but will still continue to visit as the meal has been ok.

We went early the young lady was polite and efficient food was served fast and was good quality and tasty.

Staff are good but cutlery was dirty with other people's food on it. Was asked to replace and again gave dirty knives and forks.

We took the opportunity to have a small snack in the early afternoon. The food was good and cheap (special rates in the afternoon). The service was friendly and professional. We were able to sit outside in the sun.

Food comes after others who came a long time after us because the five of us are a "large order". Then when they miss out one person's meal we're told by the stroppy waitress there's a 25 minute wait which they can't rush. Terrible service.

We parked Inthe disabled parking in the carpark at the rear which is free for disabled. We were early so it was quiet, but the young lady serving was polite cheerful and helpful. The food was delivered quickly, and was tasty, and the hot drinks were all you can drink. Overall good value, good service and pleasant.

Honestly this place ain't worth it. I know it's the spoons, and you shouldn't really get your hopes up, but it's kind of gross just go somewhere else.

The manager is awful, rude and disrespectful. After a small miscommunication about who’s food was who’s she was racist to another college who had a small language barrier causing the mishap. She, Mary, approached us with a rude and confrontational manner whilst we were just trying to work out the situation calmly. She said it’s not their fault and wouldn’t let us get a word in, whilst trying to tell her we never said it was your fault we just wanted to sort it out. Then she pulled a disgusted face and walked off. Overall this wasn’t a nice experience from a manger in such a high position and definitely left a distasteful impression on our meal and view of the black bull spoons in bangor.

The most affordable restaurant with some great vegan options

The establishment have only got two people working 23 may 2024. 4 orders of breakfast, took 20 mins for a coke to arrive 30 minutes for pineapple juice and coffee cup. And currently sat 50+minutes for a breakfast ordered at 9:16 currently 10:03 with 4 shouts to staff about the order. Clearly not suitable for 2 staff as they can't manage the orders.

Only had the breakfast+2 pints of Abbot ale. Won't eat a main meal in any spoons, not value for money. They count the chips!!!!

The while place was a mess, all the tables were dirty and full of dirty used plates and crockery, not a single clean table. Food was cold when it arrived. And one of the waitresses was just arrogant with no customer service about her. Very dissapointing visit.

This is another good Wetherspoons. Looks to be 2 buildings knocked through which gives it a ground level accessible entrance. Food was good, quick to arrive. Selection of reals a bit sparse but 2 I tried where good. They also had their normal 3 ales too. Staff were nice and helpful too. Worth another visit!

JD gets a bad rap, but we (3 adults & 2 small children) had comfortable seats, fast service, lovely staff and a great meal for around £40. The place has lots of character, great balcony and outdoor seating and a wheelchair accessible toilet, so ticks all the boxes. Definitely would go again.

Fish and chips with mushie peas and a drink £6.08 You can't argue with that.

Not enough staff behind the bar

I had a bad experience here but the duty manager made up for it! I order Fish and chips, the server (who was rude) brought it over - I cut into the fish and the knife wouldn't go through. Im not normally one to complain but this was not edible. I said to the server, the fish isn't edible and she took my plate and walked off. The duty manager came over and asked if I wanted the same again. I said as long as it isn't overcooked. He went off, came back a few minutes later and said the reason the fish was like that was because they had run out of flour for the batter. I was shocked he didn't already know this being the duty manager. I then said I will have the scampi instead - off he went, 5 minutes later he came back, I'm really sorry but I've just been informed we don't have any scampi. By this time my husband and child had finished their meals and I was still just sat there. He offered me a drink free if charge as compensation - needless to say this wasn't enough. I order a completely different meal, which was £3 cheaper than the original, no refund offered for the difference... He tried his best but overall, I wouldn't go back.

Decent spoons pub, food was average not the best for some dishes like the curries pizzas or nachos. Tables are often left unclean, can be busy at times, nice beer garden and outside area. Good service

Just popped in for breakfast with my daughter and her friends. Staff were friendly, and the service was quick. The food was nice, and I made full use of the refillable coffee.

Your usual Wetherspoons pub. Grubby, overworked staff, and average service. It served its purpose on the night, but not somewhere I would choose to go again.

Had an absolutely horrendous experience here with diabolical service. The staff wander around with your drinks not using the table numbers that you order to, they just walk around saying "coke" until someone takes it. I was with a large group about 10 of us on a couple of tables, some of us were in the toilets when my friends orange juice came, he said the juice was his and the waitress placed the 2 drinks on the tray on the table, it was assumed the other drink which was a cider was for someone else on the table that was currently in the toilets. After everyone was back we quickly realised nobody had ordered this drink. After 30 minutes nobody came back for the drink so someone on the table had a few sips. 45mins to an hour later, a waitress storms over to the table and immediately addresses us with "do you have a receipt for that drink!" in the most loud obnoxious tone. We started to explain what had happened but she spoke over us and said that we need to pay for the drink. Thinking this is outrageous this isn't our mistake we didn't steal a drink you put it on our table without being asked. We again tried to explain what happened but again was spoke over by this waitress on a power trip, she said that if we didn't pay they wouldn't serve us anymore drinks. I can imagine this would be much worse for your company and your pub as the profit for 10 peoples worth of drinks for a night surely must out weigh the price of a cheap cider. Long story short, disgusting way to be treated by staff, I understand accidents happen but it was the way this situation was approached and the manner that it was conducted in that was disgusting.

Awful people working here. I think they get a kick out of starting trouble with customers. They need to sack all of them and start again with this place. What a dump.

Dirty tables and lazy staff can’t be bothered to clean them. They go back to the bar empty handed. Empty glass everywhere just lazy, no need for it.I’ve been to loads of Wetherspoons around the country and this one in Bangor is disgusting.

Nice weather spoons and nice staff, very typical spoons, very close to town and other shops.

Very short staffed.lots of tables , needed clearing.took ages for them to be cleared.

Used to serve good food today it was mostly burned or completely under cooked like 2 diffrent people cooking nether of them can cook

One of the cleanest Wetherspoons I have visited but the food was not up to the standard of others. A blasted shrunken dry steak and kidney pudding and two tablespoons of mash. A joke. Will be back but not to eat.

Worst experienc I've had at a Weatherspoons, First the waiter spills a full pint of coke on my friend and thinks a free drink makes it better while he's sitting there drenched, then I ask to make a change to my order when I used the app I got told they wouldn't do any changes because used the app and they can only do it if I ordered at the bar. Terrible customer service and really disappointing as the food I got was also either overcooked or undercooked.

It's very loud at times and the food isn't great, but it's a decent price. I wouldn't recommend for the noise if you're noise sensitive!!! The staff seemed friendly, but it's definitely just a drinks or chicken strips only place.

Slightly threatening atmos, particularly for a weekday morning and I've been in hundreds of Spoons. Had the feeling that some groups had/were going to be institutionalized together. Otherwise standard Spoons.

Me and my husband called in on Monday night approximately 7:45pm we only wanted drinks but there was a large group of noisy students approximately 20 who had put all the tables together they were very noisy and boisterous,put us of as we couldn't hear our selves speak only had 1 drink and left,there are no poor students in Bangor they are all in the Black Bull in.Wont be going again.

This place is pot luck on staff and service. Today was shocking, details of the lack of customer care are too many to mention. A one star is generous, zero stars is not optional for this shower or sh!te.

absoultley horrendus terrible food had to take it back waited an hour half for our second food never came !!!! refunded only half of the payment! avoid this place no staff feel sorry for them! no fault of the staff never will be going here again

The manager lady is named Mary. (Late 20s, very large build) She has a habit of kicking people out. Multiple complaints about this lady who likes to throw lots of people out. Just beware

Staff were polite. Garlic naan was lovely and that was it. Curry had little taste, rice was dry, 1 out of 2 poppadoms were burnt as were the onion bhajis. Was offered a refund for the extra I paid for the burnt bhajis but thought it hypercritical to get refund and then write this.
