Really enjoyed our quick stop for Sunday lunch whilst on a short break in west wales. Despite not having booked a table l, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and were able to accommodate 9 of us plus a dog perfectly with absolutely no fuss at all. The food and drinks were excellent, and the general atmosphere was perfect, many thanks.

Really great pub. Great position with views over the River Teifi. Very friendly staff gave a warm welcome Lovely log burner added to the atmosphere. Was there with two friends and we all ordered different meals from the menu. All choices were excellent, hot tasty and reasonably priced. Great that the local brewery supplies the ale and we enjoyed the well kept “Dai IPA”. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Cardigan.

Popped to cardigan and started looking for some food, as we were about to give up the wife saw an A frame for this pub so I looked it up on Tripadvisor. Mostly positive reviews but one caught our eye moaning nearly every table had a dog at the table. Our sort of place. Upon entering I laughed out loud at the sight of 3 large leonbergers that were beautifully behaved behaved (our little dachshund said his thoughts at the giants in front of him but settled). Onto the food, drink and staff. No complaints at all (they do need to fix the speaker near the toilets as it’s blown and makes a low level brr noise to the music but that’s minor) I had the fish and chips as I never order that in a pub and fancied it and my wife ordered a burger. Both were really tasty (the burger was an impressive thickness) All in all happily recommend (other dogs turned up during our stay, never trust a reviewer that doesn’t like dogs lol

Great location...Especially if the weather is good and you can sit outside on the river. Pub service was perfectly fine. Drinks were quickly served with friendly chat. Food was ok (burger salty and fish soggy). Top floor was much nicer and relaxed to eat.

Went in for a drink and when served we paid with our scottish money and was treated like we where aliens . Checking it was really . It was a disgrace it is uk money and the manner was disgusting . We drank our drink then left . Would of stay and spent our money but the manner made me want to spend our money else where as not a nice welcome

It was like visiting a dog kennel,more dogs than people,dogs barking and smelly. The two barmen were more interested in themselves than customers.God help anyone that eats there.

Great food at reasonable prices with fantastic service. We pre ordered our meals when we booked (14 persons) and all came out within minutes, and piping hot. Highly recomend The Grosvenor.

Beware the sign that clearly states food on a Monday until 20.30, it's a lie. Got to the bar just before 20.00 and asked for a menu, 5 minutes later I went to order, kitchens closed. It says '20.30' on the sign I reminded the young man behind the bar, 'it all depends' was his reply, ummmm, depends on what?! It's a mystery, it's a lie and terrible customer service, beware!

Food and ale were top class. There was quite a long wait for food.. But they were very busy

We had a really enjoyable lunch at The Grosvenor this week. Staff were fantastic as was our meal. The only thing that let down our lunchtime outing was the fact that every table had a dog. In the end we felt we were at Crufts without our dog. I have nothing against dogs but surley you should have an area for people without dogs. Once one started barking they all joined in. Won't be returning in a hurry, basically for this reason. Not everyone wants a barking mad lunchtime meal.

There were eleven of us in for a pre booked meal and cannot fault anything at all, we were greeted warmly and served the same. We all had different meals and each one was cooked perfectly and exactly how we wanted, portion sizes were great. I would highly recommend visiting here.

A lunchtime visit while in Cardigan reminiscing about old times. Dogs are welcome here, we could’ve chosen inside or outside seating, the outside seats offer a nice view of Cardigan bridge and the river Teifi. Ordering is at the bar with your table number and on the day we visited the food was delivered in adequate time, was hot and tasted really good. Staff were very friendly and took time to talk to us and our four legged family member. Toilets were also clean which is a bonus!

Really lovely pub/restaurant, good food and great service! We ordered the fish and chips, and the jacket potato with a side of onion rings. Everything was cooked really well, and the service was excellent. Only criticism, they don’t have a car park for the pub but there’s a pay and display one a few minutes walk away. Overall, really good experience 👍

Short staffed, the ones there lovely, not there fault, first impressions, seating with stuffing come out on many arms of chairs, paint work coming off radiators, it would not take much to make it lovely, new tables, new chairs, comfy sofas Here and there.... my shoes where sticking to the floor, you can not blame the staff .management...needs to spend some bucks.. Lovely location, but...a little more thought....gave me the job of re..doing I would love it this place got lots going for it...only lacking in imagination...

Booked a table for my father's birthday which was noted with table decorations the manager also noted my family was very elderly and set up a table downstairs the service was very helpful and friendly food was served hot and freshly made even on a busy Saturday evening service was 10 out 10

Called the restaurant to ask if they did carvery, which they said they did, so booked a table which I was told was the last spot they had. Arrived and the restaurant was basically empty and I can see why. There was no carvery only a set dinner, which came with peas, carrots roast potatoes and mash. If you had the beef option you were allowed a Yorkshire pudding, if you had chicken you were given a single stuffing ball. I asked the waitress if I could both or switch to which she snarked and said it was not possible in a very sarcastic tone and that they had only cooked enough Yorkshire puddings to cover beef dinners. If I was not very hungry I would have left then. The food arrived and it was tiny. Hardly anything on a huge plate. The food itself was tasteless. The chicken was dry, and the gravy was like brown water. The peas were clearly from a microwaveable bag. Overall terrible experience and I will not be returning. I'm shocked at all the positive reviews this restaurant has as it was nothing like other reviews state.

Great location on the river, only called in for a drink so cannot comment about the food. Ordered a Madri which was served in a Peroni glass...

Sunday lunch great, nice choice of veg. Service is decent too. Recommended Edit...in here to watch the Welsh rugby. Staff and food superb and free sausage & chips for everyone at half time. My 2nd favourite pub of all time

Our wonderful local!! What a pub!! Great food, wonderful atmosphere and a superb line of staff! Doesn't matter if you're local or not, you'll receive great service and have a great night, the manager Max is wonderful, and we love how great Jakob is!! We love the groves!!

Excellent service by young bar staff. They were knowledgeable, polite, accommodating and pub food was delicious. They knew their beers, they recommended lovely choices for dinner and place was busy for a Monday, all great signs of a nice evening.

Stopped off here today for some lunch. A great choice on our part. From the moment we walked in the customer service was exceptional. Jacob especially was the epitome of top notch customer service. The Grosvenor was welcoming, warm & friendly. All of the staff were outstanding. Our food arrived on very good time. I had the roast beef dinner, which was delicious, superbly cooked, hot when served & ample portions. I couldn't finish it, even though I shared it with my hubby. My husband had the roast beef bap which he said was very generously filled with tender, melt in your mouth beef, cracking chips & decent side salad. The prices were some of the lowest we've seen so it was exceptional value for money. We'll be back & we recommend you make a point to visit the Grosvenor if you're in Cardigan or the area.

Booked in sunday lunch 17th Sept 13.30 both ordered roast beef when food came out 30 mins later I was missing mashed potato and ball of stuffing on my plate and they even forgot cauliflower cheese of both plates aswell beef was very tough whole dinner was half cold would've been nice to have fresh veg on the plate and a puffed up Yorkshire pud jnstead of a flat one not very impressed with the grosvenor

This is a very popular establishment alongside the river and near the castle. The Sunday lunch was a little disappointing.

I chose to have the child's mac and cheese as it was clearly listed as vegan on the menu. I have an allergy to all dairy products and I was excited to have a suitable option available for a suitable price. Once it arrived I noticed the cheese had caramelised brown spots on top, something that dairy free cheese does not and it was very stringy, again unlike non dairy cheese. I went up to a server to confirm it was definitely vegan friendly. She assured me that it was and pointed to the clear VG sign next to the kids mac and cheese on the menu, reiterating that VG stands for vegan and that the vegan cheese is just very realistic. She didn’t even come over to the table, look at the food or speak to the chef and I felt like I was being an inconvenience for (quite rightly)simply double checking for the sake of my own health. Lo and behold I had an allergic reaction to consuming the dairy. I assume it is supposed to be listed as vegetarian and there is a mistake on the labelling on the menu, a mistake which is so careless and dangerous. This is an incredibly serious issue and I felt it was not treated as such. Contacted the establishment and requested a refund. I have been refunded £6.95 for the mac and cheese and not for the full price of the meal which just adds insult to injury. Allergies are no joke and to say we spent £35 in total here and got less than £7 compensation is ridiculous.

Complete joke. Ordered food and spent £75. We were waiting an hour and a half for sandwiches and chips with barely another table eating. Gluten free meal for my coeliac mum arrived with gluten on it, rest of the order arrived wrong and had to be corrected and the fishfingers must have gone under the grill in 1824, they were solid and cremated. I’m not being funny but getting 7 sandwiches right inside of 2 hours, not serving gluten to coeliacs and being able to cook a fishfinger is not that much to ask for.

Nice Riverside location, separate dining area upstairs, family friendly, really nice Sunday roast beef dinner. Only let down by the hour wait for our food, even with a booked table.

We visited The Grosvenor today for a Sunday dinner, our table was booked for 130pm we were sat very promptly and someone came immediately to take our drinks orders. We were told they couldn't take our food order straight away as the kitchen was too busy... not a great start We waited another 10 minutes then they came and took our food order, I asked how long food would be and was told at least 20 minutes as they were very busy. It took an hour in total to get our food, luckily when the food came out it was very good which was it saving grace. Some people left instead of waiting others seemed quite fed up due to the length of time for food. The food was lovely but if we would have been told it would have been an hour we may have found somewhere else to eat with our two young children.

Well we did leave a glowing review after our first visit. We returned the previous night having been very pleased with the service you provided us and how you accommodated for our autistic son. He felt at ease and wanted to return the following evening. We came along but were refused as you wouldn’t accommodate our dog which you had done the previous evening. Slightly embarrassing having to walk out and our son couldn’t understand why. Also having paid £2.60 for parking we had to return to our caravan as our son was upset. Maybe a bit more clarity needed. A disappointing end to our last evening on holiday.

Very nice pub and staff are friendly reasonably priced

All the staff were so happy, friendly and welcoming. Jacob went out of his way to be extra helpful. It was such a nice atmosphere. We did not have to wait to be served because staff were on point working hard and appearing to enjoy their job, so lovely to see these days. You don't get that often. Also the music in the bar was really good acoustic like. Thanks so much Grosvenor for making our holiday that extra special.

We really liked the food here, we were on holiday, and we went twice for food. I had the chorizo, bacon n sausage lasagne. It was that good I'm going to make it at home.

Really great food, not anything to complain about from anyone in our group of 9. Servers were all really polite and attentive, and the pub itself was well laid out and cosy. Would visit again if we lived much closer (200+ mile)

Food was tasty, served efficiently bit pricey for portion size but overall pretty good.

Tried three or four places before we tried the Grosvenor for lunch. Food was great, menu wasn't over complicated and the price was very reasonable. All the staff were great, but Jacob was brilliant and absolutely made for customer facing - efficient, friendly and competent.

The service was very slow. We ordered, 3 couples came in and ordered and all 3 got their lunches quicker than us. The majority of them ordered a roast beef dinner, same as us except i had a burger, and they got their food quicker. The food was okay, not the best, not the worst. One of my friends had a nut roast, and this had no nuts. The burger and roast beef dinner was okay, it could've been better. Finally, they messed up our bill, as we paid for someone else's dinner. I give it 2/5.

Visiting the lovely town of cardigan today and decided stop for a local lunch we were greeted with lovely staff with a happy and holly tone some of us were much happy with our food however on some of the children’s dishes small hairs and lumpy bland mash did not suit to amaze.

Fabulous, drinks and food competitively priced. The service was quick and Emillie was a complete pleasure. She’s was very informative about the local ales. Thank you.

Nice seat outside with river view, sulky service, lipstick on glass so took glass back, bar lady said nothing as she sulkily took glass and gave me another saying "it's just come out of the wash" to which I replied.."I presume that one did as well"...no response......won't be back.

Went with the family for Sunday dinner. We had a table on the first floor so it was quieter then eating in the bar. Outside tables had a lovely view of the river and bridge. Everyone enjoyed their meals especially the vegetarian options.

A lovely pub, nice food, courtious staff. However, the staff behind the bar were so hot they were sweating and obviously really uncomfortable. They need fans, as a prevous bar owner myself in,Ibiza, i know how much the fridges blow out heat. Please give them fans.

Stopped here for a pint as the veiws looked nice from outside, Staff were friendly, looked at the menu pub bog standard food, would of thought something better to go with location, wasnt overly busy, pub tables inside appeared not to of been cleaned, bits of sweetcorn on our table, and bits of food on others, went outside, seating area was appalling, with empty glasses left on tables and cigarette butt's on the floor, my partner left his drink, we wasn't impressed!

Nice location. Half decent beer and friendly staff. No food on Mon to Wed and that caught us out.
