Really dissapointed last time was good tonight steak tasted off meat was rotten and mediun rare was well done to burnt. terrible 😞 come on guys your better than this. Was looking forward to that all day 😞

Usually a decent place to eat BUT I ate there on 10 December this year 2024 I ordered the festive burger, which came with chips & I also ordered a side of onion rings The whole meal was awful ! Dry Lacking in well everything really ! The so called festive part of the burger meal was a “pig in blanket “ lol It was about as big as my toe nail … lol and probably less palatable only just The chips, well chips are chips I suppose The lady who served me was eager to Come over after we’d … well in my case not eaten there meal …. to ask what was the problem … any issues with the food, Personally I think they had an issue with the state of the food that day

Came here for a university society buffet night. The staff were so helpful and friendly (George, Liv & Lou) and the food was great value for money, brought out quickly and with lots of options for vegetarians/vegans. My only point for improvement was that no tongs were provided for the buffet food which is only a small issue ! We will definitely be back soon :)

Went last night for work Christmas dinner. Everything came out super fast and service was lovely!

Brilliantly inclusive of all people and a great gin selection.

A great experience from start to finish. Warm welcome and given choice of table. The food was fresh and well presented. Tasted lovely. One of our dishes was very spicy and too much for my daughter. No fault of the pub - it was as advertised. We asked to swap the dinner and offered to pay the additional. No drama - replacement meal provided in less than 10 mins. Lovely experience. Will get back there when next in town.

Slow service at the bar, food took 40 mins when they weren't busy, and arrived cold.

Me and my boyfriend came for a weekend away, we wanted to watch the football and have dinner. Appreciate it is cheap and cheerful but not only did the food come out Baltic cold but they forgot a whole meal, we had to go up and ask for it and they’d forgotten it. Mine then came out just as cold🥴 sent it back and was told a refund would take 5 working days to come through. Absolutely awful no rush in any of the staff members there and had to keep chasing up about it not good night as well go to spoons get better food and service there. The atmosphere is dog shit there’s people on the karaoke at 8pm take your ear plugs with you

We didn’t expect much for the price just cheep and cheerful so I was excited to see so many veggie options or substitutes on the menu. We ordered from the app and I wanted a katsu veggie chicken and even though the menu said swap rice for chips it would not let me. After speaking to a waitress about swapping after i ordered I was informed that chips are cooked in with all the meat products, which is crazy when all other veggie options (that you would not need to ask about) came with chips? Some even as an alternative to make it veggie which is concerning and also meant i could not swap for any other meal. Meal was fine, a bit tasteless and the Quorn chicken was overcooked with very little amount of sauce. My partner had a club baguette which was pretty terrible, didn't come with any lettuce so was basically bacon and cheese. Drink prices were reasonable though for spirits and pints and the staff were really friendly.

Nice pub, food and drinks were reasonably priced and of good quality. Very similar in feel to a wetherspoons.

Ordered food, told table was booked out with 1 1/2 hours to spare, nothing saying this on table!! We asked if it was ok and they said we can easily do that, over 1 hour and 10 minutes wait food was served not even luke warm, no table checks, no one seemed to care. We will never be going back as it was the worst experience ever which is such a shame as we came in April and had 3 really good meals and service. Don't waste your money!

If you are LGBT or a woman then I do not recommend coming to the white horse as a friend of mine got SA,D while in the venue by a clearly intoxicated man. We came to the bouncers twice about this man however the man was able to stay in the venue while causing a nuance so we ended up leaving. Do not recommend

The food was good and the staff was helpful

May have been better if staff had not been so surly and meals more accurate. Count your scoops of ice cream.

Service was excellent can't fault it but the food wasn't up to scratch it wasn't very hot and was very bland but the place is very nice and dogs were welcomed

Karaoke night. well I enjoyed it.

Staff lovely. But the food was awful. Had curry but the naan bread was rock hard and the poppadoms were stale.

Just experienced the worst cooked breakfast I've ever had,everything was burnt and I think had been reheated in microwave after being sat for days.

We were told we would have to wait 25-30 minutes for food and ended up waiting over an hour also half of the staff were just standing still and having a laugh

Awful service got told food will be maximum of 25 minutes and it took over 50 minutes very disappointing because food was amazing.

A nice local pub with good value food and good service. The atmosphere really varies depending on the time of day. It is lively during Karaoke nights on Thursdays! There are other events during the week as well.

Seems to have been caught by surprise by the beginning of the university year. Nice to be advised of a wait of up to an hour after ordering food. Wish we'd gone to Coffee#1 across the road instead.

Decent beer, not expensive. Food poor. Pre cooked, frozen stuff, not properly reheated. Near cold soggy chips for example. Big screen sport, and deafening music when commentary not on. Conversation difficult or impossible as a result.

Large L shaped room with wooden floors and an area of carpeting. Dog friendly and wheelchair accessable. Usual tap beers and a few real ales available. Food is also served here. Staff were friendly and polite, beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.

Called in on a Sunday morning for breakfast. The staff said yes, but we no toast or mushrooms. Changed the same full price, though. Surely, someone could have popped out and got a loaf of bread . However, the food was good .staff great. Dog friendly. Clean pub. Will call again, but next time, I may have to go to the Spar for any shortfalls. It's just short on effort.

They were understaffed for a holiday weekend. Other than that the service was good, though wait times to order were long. I took away a full star because we came to watch the formula 1 grand prix, which they advertised on sign outside. We were enjoying the race with a couple of local people we met, then the staff turned the race off 2/3 of the way through. Switched over to a football game in the middle of the race. That was quite disappointing.

Eaten and drank here over the years but the food on this occasion was abysmal. Portion sizes had shrunk ridiculously. The V. burger was dry and burnt and the cheese was dry and rubbery, all in a tiny bun with 12 chips with no side garnish.

Used to come here during my time at university, but the place is quite poor now. A few things weren't working or being served whilst I visited again, such as the taps on the bar, and them running out of fries. I was offered waffle fries instead of fries with my meal as a replacement but I still had to pay extra towards the waffle fries. Quite a few flies situated around the building so make sure to choose wisely where you sit.

They had no choice in food, no fish and no eggs no beer on draft cider was warm food was luke warm i asked for extra chips and there was about 8 on the plate place is dirty also wouldn't recommend not returning here !!

All day breakfast. Dietary requirements - will remove items but no dairy free alternative. Bread was really lovely. Eggs runny, mushrooms wrinkly and dry. Breakfast overall ok ish for price. Sticky table. Toilets need some attention but reasonably clean

Currently in White Horse Aberyswyth, very suprised on ordering drinks, i always have Aperol Spritz cocktail with lemonade instead of soda water but was told when ordering this is not possible they can only make with soda water, firtst time i have ever experienced this and in a pub couod not believe it!

Had a great dinner, generous portion of chips and great menu options and Beth, Nick, Zel and Tom were incredible. Highly recommend :)

Waited over 50 mins for a simple order....asked three times where food had got to... disappointed.....used to be so ,much better!

A pot of tea is a pot of tea especially when you charge half what you do for food for one and you come to the table with one cup of tea, and regardless of if people are robbing your tea pots a pot pf tea is normally more than one cup most of the time more than 2, it's in the menu too anywhere else if you're going to false advertise something in any other business they're normally held to what they've advertised you could have been polite and said that you don't even do pots of tea anymore but you'll happily bring two teas over but there was no mention that the menu was wrong, disappointed as I always pop in when I'm over as I can take my dog, we'd have probably stayed longer and bought other things but just decided to leave after finished due to the lack of courtesy.

I returned to the White Horse because they did good breakfasts a few years ago. The pub was quite busy at around 6 o'clock on a sunny Sunday evening, l but I found a table fairly easily. I ordered the fish chips and mushy peas as I didn't have a lot of time. It arrived after about 15 minutes which was fine as there were many people ordering food. The chips were fresh and hot and the mushy peas were OK. However, the fish was a disappointment. It wasn't particularly big for the nearly £9.00 they were charging and it was curled up like a bowl and overcooked. The batter was hard and when I eventually penetrated it the fish inside was dry, cream in colour and yellow around the edges. It looked as if someone had forgotten about it. I persevered for a little while before giving up leaving half of it on the plate. A young lad collected the plate. He didn't ask if the meal was OK - perhaps he knew the response he would get. I will certainly give the White Horse a wide berth next time I'm in Aberystwyth. There are plenty of other eating establishments that are better.

Usually IME it's been a good pub overall - decent beer, friendly efficient staff etc. - but regrettably often it's fallen lamentably short of what's acceptable service-wise. The inobservant or inattentive bartender who fails to notice that you're the next-in-line customer at the bar rather than the one who just walked up is a forgivable albeit too common phenomenon, especially in the UK, but when that happens at the same time as there's another one right in front of you who's apparently too busy chatting to her friend to deign to pour you a beer... 🙄

I recently visited The White Horse in Aberystwyth and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the full breakfast was fantastic. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the sausages were flavorful, and the accompanying beans, mushrooms, and toast were delicious. It was hearty, well-prepared, and truly satisfying. However, the bacon sandwich left something to be desired. The bacon was a bit too dry chewy, and lacked the crispiness that one would expect. It seemed slightly underwhelming compared to the otherwise excellent full breakfast. Overall, The White Horse is a great place for a hearty breakfast, but the bacon sandwich could use some improvement. I'd still recommend giving it a try for the friendly atmosphere and the overall quality of their breakfast offerings.

Food was actually fine and I use the pub on a regular basis when I visit. I know you don't serve after 9 and that's ok. I don't drink much but still like a pub - with a meal. Shut your coffee machine down when you close the kitchen though...shame I couldn't have one after eating😞

Easily booked a table for 5 of us to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday. Amazing service from Nick taking our orders and taking care of dietary requirements. Joe and Joyce very friendly and such fantastic service at the table. Also, shout out to kitchen staff (I believe their names are Isaac, Jackson and Ricky for cooking our lovely food and looking after the birthday cake. Everyone involved really made my mum's day. Highly recommend. Thank you all so very much for a memorable evening.

We popped in for lunch, it's a bit like weather spoons menu Food was very good, and plenty of it. Served quite quick to , good value, very friendly staff , would recommend It. Plenty of seating and a upstairs to. Dog friendly too.

Bar service was great. Food service... seemed like she wanted to get back somewhere quickly. Food itself was awful.

Absolutely terrible meal. Had the steak & chips with peppercorn sauce. The sauce was watery with a floury taste. My partner had chilli and rice. Flavourless and watery. We felt the effects a few hours later. Would never go here again.

We had two baguettes. The bread and chips were nice but the sandwhich content were disgusting. The flavours didn't go at all. Decent prices but wouldn't go again. Tables tightly packed in and sticky.

Waited over an hour for a simple burger and chips. Food was cold when it arrived. Lots of flies everywhere. Staff gave attitude when I complained about food. Never will I return again. Simply unacceptable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear the owner . I had to wait for over and hour for only cheesy garlic bread which only takes minutes to cook . This is a shambolic and shameful service and must be corrected . And the food was sub par and was over priced and luke warm at best . Do better

The audacity, never in my great experience of reviewing restaurants have I waited a lifetime for not even a whole meal... GARLIC BREAD! why in all that's holy did it take so long, i literally could of driven to tesco driven home cooked the garlic bread and came back to this shambolic excuse of a restaurant! I appreciate that the restaurant was busy (for some reason) at the time but I didn't even order a whole meal, why I ask you did it take so long ?! And now the staff, I can understand why they look so miserable all the time working in this pathetic excuse of an establishment, slapping my food on the table without a smile or any words. I don't normally take to extending my reviews to this platform I usually keep them within the reviewing agency I own but this case was to shambolic to ignore! White horse, sort yourself out.

The staff are lovely. So helpful and kind. The food is beyond beautiful. You need to go in hungry but can guarantee you won't go out hungry. The bbq ribs are beautiful. The Sunday lunch is lovely.

Pub very average food had the all day breakfast great if you like cremated bacon mushrooms and the sausages looked and tasted like they had been cooked left for a day and reheated shell in the eggs Visitor to the area, would not go back.

Great service and the food was fantastic

Good food, good service, it was Sunday evening so not busy or noisy for town centre pub. Good steak. Great sticky toffee pudding. (A few things has run out on the menu). Spent too long trying to work out how to use QR code and app (MiXR) to get a discount or free drink which was too complicated to use, but that's not this pubs fault.

Three crazy Aussie ladies arrived in the town and was recommended by Holland and Barrett staff to eat at the White Horse.. great atmosphere! Excellent customer service from all the staff, friendly and very professional. Our meal was delicious and satisfying after a long drive from Bath and Stockport.

Barking dogs and old men shouting. would of stayed for food but for that.

Mediocre food served by sullen staff on the day we were there. No tartare sauce in fish wrap and overcooked chips.

Ate here two nights in a row while staying in town, served fast and yummy food. Reasonably priced drinks.
