Would like to say been served by the most ignorant and arrogant person ever, the woman with the glasses needs manners and a please or thank you would go along way, oh next time you chuck the drinks on the bar you might find them coming back at you 👍

Great service and the food was fantastic

Good food, good service, it was Sunday evening so not busy or noisy for town centre pub. Good steak. Great sticky toffee pudding. (A few things has run out on the menu). Spent too long trying to work out how to use QR code and app (MiXR) to get a discount or free drink which was too complicated to use, but that's not this pubs fault.

Three crazy Aussie ladies arrived in the town and was recommended by Holland and Barrett staff to eat at the White Horse.. great atmosphere! Excellent customer service from all the staff, friendly and very professional. Our meal was delicious and satisfying after a long drive from Bath and Stockport.

Mediocre food served by sullen staff on the day we were there. No tartare sauce in fish wrap and overcooked chips.

From the outside I wasn't expecting much, however glad we came in! We had a range of meals... well practically all the small plates. The food was soo nice we stayed to watch the match. Served by vi, she was great, helping us by recommendations of drinks with cocktails 2 for 1! We're glad we came in!

Ate here two nights in a row while staying in town, served fast and yummy food. Reasonably priced drinks.

Don't be fooled thinking this is a 'Spoons. It might look and feel it, and in all honesty we did pop in on that premise, thinking we'd have a cheap late lunch on a Friday after a walk along the prom. It's not, but better! The menu was decent, with good choice of just about everything, including a children's menu (our smallest reviewer was impressed by the full set of crayons, too, not "the normal, broken, three colours you normally get in pubs"). The food was good, although it took a little while to come, with decent portion sizes. Good selection of drinks, with some non-alcoholic options, too. It's got a mezzanine upstairs (with a pool table), TVs for your sporting needs, and the toilets were clean and tidy. Out of term time it was fairly quiet but I imagine it can get quite busy otherwise. The are special nights on (check the board). All in all a very pleasant experience. And service was great!

Popped in on a holiday with the family! Great place and food was lovely! Will definitely be returning again next time I’m down! Violet was amazing! They did a great job and making us feel special! Couldn’t fault a thing!

Visited today for a Sunday dinner, it looks amazing on your website........in reality it was the worst Sunday dinner we have ever had, the meat, I had the beef which was like shoe leather, my husband turkey which was like rubber it definitely wasn't roasted onsite, frozen roast potatoes, instant mash which was also like rubber a bit of tasteless veg. no parsnips and instant gravy, the yorkshire pudding looked good but had a weird taste like it had been cooked in an old greasy baking tray, absolutely AWFUL, come on provide what you advertise.

Down here for a couple of day's with my daughter. Place was lovely and food was great, going again tonight.

Have been coming here for years and loved it. However today was awful.. Will post a pic if the 'gammon' that looked like a thin slice of burnt bacon. And the lasagne that's obviously been frozen then microwaved.. Ordered chicken burger with extra gherkins so they gave us none 😂 waitress rude and didn't care. Her response was 'I didn't make the food' Microwaved, reheated small portions. All food was cold. Chips obviously kept in heat hold. Only sauces were ketchup or mayo. Only good was a free pint with adding £1 for purchasing a micro burger.. Not sure if management has changed from last year..

Chicken salad with 1 coujon and a bags of lettuce £10 we eat here all the time and found the quality of food poor during this bank holiday. Once complained they brought out some tomato and informed us that they have run out of cucumber. There is a spar 15 feet away from the pub. REALLY GUYS POOR

A nice pub and great atmosphere with a TV on the wall to watch the sports of you fancy. A good reasonably priced menu choice to suit all the family. And some seating in the window to watch the world go by. Good friendly service with lots of good drink choices on tap

Great little pub. Affordable food & drink. Steak was cooked to perfection & the chicken wrap was delicious. Even better that its properly dog friendly with our dog being allowed inside!

I usually consider this a great place to eat and drink at a reasonable price. Today, though, I had an awful meal. I ordered a beef dinner but only about 20% of the beef was edible (it was mostly gristle) the ball of mashed potato was unrecognisable with a tough skin and one roast was so hard it was inedible. Yorkshire and gravy was okay! I was in a family group who paid for it so I didn't want to make a fuss or I would've sent the "food" back. Really disappointed and not what I would normally expect of The White Horse.

Me and my partner come for a night from Liverpool and booked a table for food and drink friendly staff and best mixed grill I've ever had chef deserves a pay rise 😄 thank you for excellent service this is the first place we would come back to when we come again.

Quick service, amazing staff, brilliant food.

My partner and I recently visited the white horse for the first time and were blown away by the incredible service and frequent events that appeared to be going on. Our food was delicious and arrived quickly and our server, Abi, was a delight, incredibly welcoming and really made our evening. Highly recommend the white horse to any and all!

Good food, good service, great staff; I usually avoid going to the same places twice so I can visit as many new restaurants in Aber as possible, but there's a reason I and many societies frequent the White Horse. The food is tasty and reasonably priced (8-15 quid for a full meal, depending on what you get), with plenty of variety including vegetarian/vegan options, and usually very timely served. The atmosphere is a bit loud from hosting many patrons at once, but it never feels rowdy. The staff is friendly and also let my friends bring in a homemade cake (complete with lit candles) for my birthday after we ordered and ate, which was extra nice. They have also been generous and let me swap out my coupons for alcoholic drinks for juice many times, as I don't like soft drinks or alcohol. My friends who do seem to like the alcohol and fizzy drinks available, though. I've been to the White Horse perhaps a dozen times now and never had a bad meal or experience. The White Horse also permits many society meetings and activities (such as TTRPG nights), sometimes even without prior booking, making it feel very welcoming. Their nightly events always seem interesting, though I've peronally yet to attend any. Never had trouble finding seating even on busy days, either. Not a fan of sports, but they do play sports on the televisions around the building for people who like that. The late closing time is also nice, and it is dog friendly! Overall, very good pub!

Popped in for lunch with the mother in law.. prices were very reasonable £28 for 3 meals and 3 cokes.. all day breakfast - I'd call that a very big meal for £8.. chicken club looked very tasty £8 and my south fried chicken wrap with chips was delicious again £8.. service was friendly and fast! Only issue was the heating wasn't working when we went, everybody eating meals with coats on which then makes going back outside very cold 🥶 but overall will definitely return!

Service here was brilliant. The lady behind the bar, Olivia, was very friendly and welcoming. Can very easily talk to the staff here. Definitely plan on coming again! 10/10

Visited yesterday for lunch, nothing wrong with the food, but bbrrrrrr, no heating on, very disappointed as they haven't had any heating for over 2 months now, ????

Great pub, visited twice over New Year. Dog friendly, great for watching sports. We didn't eat, but the food looked good that was being served.

Wanted curry, bangers and mash and macaroni cheese none of which were available terrible food, Sunday lunch came cold and when told the took it back scrapped the veg off warmed it and shoved it back on didn't even wipe the side of the plate. Husbands food came with the wrong accompaniments. The vegetables were shriveled and brown on the edges like they had been prepared a week in advance I will never eat here again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Went out for a meal. Wish we hadn’t bothered! Hubby had a ‘festive burger. Small burger, Childs portion of chips and 1 cremated pig in blanket, no garnish or salad. He said about the pig in blanket and they got another one. I had turkey pie, mash & veg. First pie was like a brick! Once I’d got through the pastry, the inside was dry and burnt on to the pastry. I said about it and was asked did I want another….eerm yes, I wasn’t about to eat the one I had! This arrived 10 minutes later, after the rest of the party had finished eating, I then put my fork in the mash to have some and the whole lot lifted in one piece!!! Needless to say we most definitely won’t be wasting our money there again!

15/12/2023 evening meal. Probably the worst burger & chips & burnt pig in blanket sausage. Portion size tiny, price £10. Wish I could post a picture as it’s the worst ever. The meal my wife had was a turkey pie & I must say you could have built a house with the pie, pastry was rock solid, filling was dry shrivelled & burnt. Pub food at its worst if I could rate zero stars that would even be to many stars

Lovely pub, plenty of space, and the Sunday lunch is so tasty, staff are so friendly, we've found out local I think when we're at our caravan 👍

Nice pub in the middle of Aberystwyth. Good price food and some good real ales.

Going up to visit our daughter at Uni we decided to book a table for lunch (on a Saturday) at this pub as it is dog friendly. We were unfortunate enough to coincide with a football match being shown and unfortunate enough to be sat on a table right under the biggest screen with biggest speaker in the house. It was so loud we couldn’t even talk to each other, save for a brief amnesty during half time. We were told there was no other option as there’s nowhere quiet in the place when sports are being shown. The food was less than average, but tasted kind of ok. Was going to stay for dessert too but couldn’t get near the bar (only 2 people serving on a busy Saturday lunchtime) to order so gave up, left and went to a nice ice-cream place up the road instead. Wouldn’t go back.

Such a shame because it looked like a good pub grub place, we visited Aberystwyth only briefly, but we just picked this place because some other places were fully booked, now I like just plain pub food, but had the fish and chips ,mushy peas,with curry sauce, it wasn't great im afraid. I have had much better in other pub chains before. We will try somewhere else next time we are in Aberystwyth.

Fantastic Sunday roast for the price. Hot and tasty. Didn't come with the stuffing though it was advertised and sounded lovely. Staff very busy so didn't want to bother them. Lots of fresh veg which I love. Will definitely be returning.

An absolute gem , dog freindly, lovely food , efficient and freindly staff, clean nicely decorated including thetoilets .My husband is a now retired area manager of Public Houses, restaurants and he didn't have one negative I fact said if this had been of mine I would have been proud .

Food was ok, but what's on tge menu is not what u get, husband ordered 10oz gammon, chips, onion rings, egg, pineapple...when it came 4oz gammon, no pineapple and an egg that had the life fried out of it

A little bit of a showbag place, looks good from the outset but pretty ordinary on the in. Food; only burgers available on the night as oven broken, below average and scaby on the chips. Pub felt souless, zero atmosphere.

Pleasant looking pub close to our apartment. We first visited Thursday evening after eating and enjoyed a real ale and a gin and tonic. There are not many pubs that do real ale and food on lunch time so we ended up here two of our three days in Aberystwyth. The first time we shared a chicken and bacon baguette the first day which came with chips. It took a while to come and the bread could have been better quality. The second visit we had three small plates. Chicken wings were the best of the three. Onion bhaji were overcooked and stodgy. Scampi was OK. Service was consistently good.

I'm visiting Aberystwyth with my dog, this pub serves a mean 3 bean burger with chips, its dog friendly, found it by passing, 2nd time visiting on my stay and reasonably priced. Service good.

This is honestly the DIRTIEST pub I have ever been in, and as a Matelot’s wife, I have been in a real range! The carpet was filthy, looked like it hadn’t been hoovered for days. The floor boards had so much tracked in dust, the colour was no longer obvious. The chairs were sticky, and the only ladies’ toilet not to be littered with unmentionables had a faulty door lock. My husband enjoyed his three snacks for £10, but all I could think of was if the kitchen hygiene was the same as the rest of the place!

Great traditional pub, like they used to be..

Was just after a bite to eat. They have an app but apparently they don't use it in the pub. ???? We ordered little dishes from the app along with capaccino and laté not sure that we actually got either. The service shows they don't use the app as I had to go up and ask for the drinks.

Visited with family for lunch before returning to England. Great service and great value.

Not a very nice atmosphere, no cutlery available and when we told staff nothing was done about it. Waited over 45 mins for food and left.

Went upstairs for food as downstairs full. Every table full of old dirty plates at 6pm, disgusting. Food came and had STONE cold chicken..chicken. Not sure about smothered, maybe smothered in salmonella. Food replaced with microwaved food and a raw “grilled” tomato, awful service. Cheap and you can definitely tell. Pie and chips just tastes like bisto gravy with hard chips. Left the lot. Wouldn’t even feed the chicken to our 2 raw fed dogs. Won’t be returning. Save your money.

Had a great weekend in here, staff were fantastic as they were ran off their feet. Drink prices are reasonable. Didn't have food but looked great. I will be coming back whenever I am in Aberystwyth. Lovely place.
