An amazingly sympathetic conversion. I popped back numerous times during my visit. It is great to see outstanding historic buildings preserved and given a new lease of life. Loved it!

The table had been mainly cleared apart from some empty wrappers but needed wiping, we asked twice and eventually had a clean table. We ordered steaks, chicken burger, pizza and kids burgers but everything was Luke warm on arrival. We could see effort had been made on preparation and was fair for the price but eating a Luke warm meal is never a great experience. The staff were very friendly and polite which was nice. If the food had arrived hotter it would have been 4 stars at least.

My wife and I visited Llandudno this weekend. We visited Wetherspoons on Friday evening in my impossible pursuit of the Wetherspoons challenge (visiting over 900 different pubs within the group. I have visited barely 100!). We had noticed there was a scooter event in the town and saw a few groups wearing what I took to be club badges on their shirts. I noticed a group sat near to us who were in good spirits. From overhearing their conversations I gathered that they were celebrating the life of someone who had recently passed away. A couple of times they raised their drinks and cheered. At this point the reason for my review occurred. I normally visit wetherspoons because their pubs are everywhere, easy to find, cheap and often occupy interesting old buildings. This pub is no different and appears to be an old theatre. However, I saw 2 bouncers approach the group and tell them to be quiet. I could barely believe what I was seeing as the group had not caused any issues at all. Both bouncers were slim, one with a long beard and the other with short dark hair. The second one was determined to show everyone how important and powerful he believed that he was. From what I had seen and heard I believed that one of the women in the group had suffered the bereavement. This woman approached the bouncers and appeared to try to explain to them what was happening. She appeared calm but upset as she spoke to the self important short haired bouncer. My wife and I left and saw the female clearly upset outside saying she had been thrown out!! I will continue my wetherspoons challenge but will not be back to the Llandudno pub if this is an acceptable way for bouncers to behave

This is a must visit for any Spoons baggers out there - got to be seen to be believed. The ceiling has now been fully restored and is even more impressive than the carpet. Seem to have some sort of queuing system at the bar which is fair but awkward when ordering a guest cask. Toilets are in what would have been the Upper Circle so allow time if deciding to go.

5 stars for the building preservation, but this place is big and gets rammed. The staff don't seem to be keeping up with the cleaning up; empties and unwiped tables abound, while the squashed food on the carpets makes you ask how much should be expected to sacrifice for a cheap drink? Coincidentally, the ones in Rhyl and Pwllheli are smaller and better kept... My partner was so disgusted she walked out.

It’s a big pub, so yes, it’s on the move throughout the day and evening like a machine. The staff are busy busy busy, but are pretty well attentive to your needs………..but what caught my eye one day in the week was the instant attention shown to a smart visually impaired young man that came in for a drink and a meal, yes, he was blind, but instantly that he was noticed, a member of staff picked him out and with courtesy led him slowly to a table where he explained the surroundings to him and what drinks there were! A little later a lady member of staff came over and explained the menu and took the order for his food. He offered to pay by card at the table but was told to await until he was leaving as the card machines were way way away at the bar, so how’s that!…its the little things in life that make it what it is, and Wetherspoons did the job right, and full marks to them for the courtesy shown! I know all of this because I was sat 6 feet away from him while supping my drink and it just touched me!

The service we received here was the worst I have ever experienced. We ordered 3 small plates to share. We waited an hour for food. It transpires that it was then delivered to the wrong table. A waiter came over, took the food from said table and gave it to us. My shocked statement was "but they've already started eating it". Waiter replied that they hadn't actually eaten any of it and walked off. Wrong! They had eaten two pieces of chicken and had manhandled the pizza. It had been cut up and mayonnaise added to it. I then called the waiter back and told him we weren't accepting the food only to be very rudely told that if we didn't want it we would have to go to the back of the queue and wait another hour. It was at this point we asked for a refund, finished our drinks and left. As did the people on the next table who witnessed what happened. If hygiene standards are this bad front of house how bad must they be behind the scenes. I will definitely never enter a Wetherspoons establishment again. You should be totally ashamed of yourselves!

We arrived at 6.00pm for a Sunday roast and the restaurant was very quiet so we decided to sit in the bar. It took a while to get someone to take the order and we informed the server that my wife was gluten free and that was not a problem. The roast dinner arrived and we looked at the roast potatoes which were well over cooked and tasted like they had been in the oven or under a hot lamp for far to long, the Yorkshire pudding was also dry and crusty. The dinner at best was Luke warm and my wife sent hers back to be heated up in a microwave. For the price of £17.95 it should of all been fresh and hot. We had been traveling most of the day so we were hungry and ate most of the dinner but we were very disappointed. The bar prices were also high £5.80 for a pint of cider. We have eaten here in the past and always found the food very good but will not be visiting again.

I am gluten-free but arrived after the jacket potatoes had all been sold… Little chef Mo was a hero and cooked some chips which are gluten-free in a separate pan for me especially! The rest of the family had Panini‘s, a pizza and ham, egg and chips and all loved it. If you’ve been here sometime ago, then you’ll be glad to hear that it’s had a revamp and it looks really clean and tidy now and very smart well worth a visit.
