Mmmm, this place is not very enticing. Landlord was friendly enough but just felt uneasy inside: No real ale. Opted to sit outside on a hot day. Won’t be returning.

On arriving to this establishment I accepted the role of darts score announcer. What a mistake. I endured antisocial behaviour from players who had never played darts before. NO SCORE.

Rude staff members, very cheeky attitude towards customers

Not a local or a family member of someone who works there, then don’t bother going in, they just don’t care. If you don’t have a problem they can come across as friendly but as soon as you criticise anything you are ostracised. I will never go back.

Bit old school out of season seaside pub. Very quiet. Group of sweary regulars and nothing else. OK.

We were working in and around north Wales and we found this little gem, really friendly staff. Fair prices and lots of entertainment We will be staying here whenever we need to work im wales, perfect contractors pub good. Heap beer but a good atmosphere. 11/10 if that’s a thing

Proper horrible place. Like walking into an old time American Saloon, as you walk in everyone stops, turns round and looks. The management don't seem interested unless your local and they know you return. Sticky floors and the beer is disgusting.

Always stop at this pub on my way home,been stopping at the madoc for years bar staff great. Can not fault the place.Well done and keep up the good work.Great.

Visited tonight with friends. As a native of the town it was such a disappointment from years ago. My main issue is the fact of face masks which there didn’t seem to be any rules on wearing them. We all wore one but the two bar men did not. A group of young girls came in not wearing one they were also running about the pub. A few more customers came in also not wearing masks and none were approached. There was no washing of hands or sanitation cleaning behind the bar. Hopefully this will be spoken about to the staff .

Lovely quirky pub and very tasty food

Rude and surley staff. A den of enquiry. I put my phone on charge in here, when I went back for it ot had disappeared I looked everywhere around where it was and it was nowhere to be found. As soon as I mentioned the police, the "manager" miraculously found it in a place I'd already looked. And the beer pipes never get cleaned, the food was absolutely awful. So to summarise its the worse pub in Wales and to be avoided at all costs. I for 1 won't be going again.

Not my drinking establishment ,visiing family who live here.not a place I would choose,but a good locals pub.

Had half an hour to kill before getting our train, so popped in here for one. Not a great advert for the town. Only about 6 people in, but still had to wait to get served. And every other word from the other customers seemed to be a swear word. Drank up quickly and waited on the platform

Cheap beer. Not much more I can say.

This must be the worst food ever , had the so called buffet everything had no taste and cold and like rubber needs compleat revamp

I like the pool tables, the beer is reasonably priced & during the day it's pretty quiet which is how I like it.

Excellent carvery no frozen potatoes here and reasonable price. Very friendly place. We found it clean and welcoming.

in the middle of town this amazing bar is as atmospheric as it gets! Visited on a late midweek afternoon so was fairly quiet. I get the impression that evenings & weekends could get hectic. Lots of sport regalia etc especially football, rugby, boxing (loads of photos of my hero Ali), and photos of other celebrities & momentous occasions. Basic drinks bar with plenty of colourful seating etc (Manchester City fans will love the 'Happy Days'/alcove seating at the back). Staff are so friendly & welcoming it's embarrassing! A visit to experience this unique bar is highly recommended.

A place that anyone can go for a drink and amazing food also they have awesome nights such as karaoke and disco nights loved it I've been going since I was a kid

It's the most toughest pub in the Bay and has been since the year dot . Well worth the visit , especially a trip to the toilets where you'll feel your going to get jumped. Enjoy

made the trip up on the train from Devon to visit grandparents,came out the station & noticed this pub,just wanted to relax with a couple of pints,Wow,where do I begin,upon approaching it looked a decent welcoming pub,that suddenly all changed,once I made my way inside (brushing past 2 local members of the riffraff society evidently eyeballing my gold watch) I was immediately struck by the stench of urine & the clientel within this cesspit pub,the hills have eyes spring to mind,barmaid was common & rough looking,barman looked like he hadn't been fed in months & needed a wash,supped my pint & immediately I could taste cleaning fluid,put the glass down & made a sharp quick exit,if I'm ever back down Colwyn Bay I just pray that this place will be under new management.

L would not go here because me and my friend drink wine my friend ask for red because that what she drink and they said they don’t do that you can have white we walked out because that was not good enough for a pub we did not get sorry or anything like that so to me that not how you treat your customer

Not a bad pub & the only place in Colwyn Bay with a late licence at the weekend.

I have to admit to be prepared for an unimpressive dinner. But I was wrong, a lovely meal with lovely people, the best cauliflower cheese I’ve had in a while and I had both beef and chicken both lovely. A carvery and drink came to £10 and I was happily stuffed. I couldn’t eat all of the desert which cost an extra £1.50 the chocolate cake was a generous portion and was really good. We will definitely go back and would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxed Sunday dinner.

Great for a night out good atmosphere and great music

The Sunday lunch is fantastic, very expertly cooked and plenty of it. Even the biggest appetite would be satisfied with it. I have had a Sunday lunch here a few times, and have always been well satisfied. Thanks Madocs.

Staying in Colwyn bay for a couple of nights we needed somewhere to watch the football and this place looked ok from the outside but my god once inside the ceilings were stained a funny yellow colour, the floor was sticky (one member of staff said they clean it so well you could eat your dinner off it) I wouldn't want to eat at their tables never mind the floor and that's if you can beat the flies to your food the place was swarming with them, this did provided entertainment in the form of a couple constantly clapping there hands to try and kill them but that did start getting annoying after 10 minutes and the pub had no fly spray (probably a good thing as the amount there were we all might of died from the fumes the amount they would of needed) and the added bonus of a drunk woman on the table next to us threatening to murder everyone in the pub if she couldn't find her mobile (this sums the pubs clientele up) don't visit if your holidaying in the area.

This pub is ok if you're a regular. We went in wanting to play pool. We ordered drinks at the bar to be greeted with a rude manner. Security was also stood at the bar instead of at the door. Music was so loud we couldn't have a proper conversation. We drank our drinks and left quickly

I took my partner here for lunch one afternoon whilst passing colwyn bay and what a lovely warm welcoming place it really is the bar staff were very polite and prompt when taking our order . We ordered the pork medallions and they were absolutely delicious the sauce was amazing very tasty !! We were served by a big old chap Whom we overheard people calling 'big bob' not the best looking fella mind bit ape like but a very friendly polite man who made sure all our needs were catered for .I would recommend this place to anyone passing beautiful lunch and nice atmosphere.

There are very few pubs left in the centre of Colwyn Bay these days but despite the very limited choice you'd be well advised to avoid the Madoc unless you're the type who spends all day, every day supping pints in which case you might just blend in with the rest of the sad looking creatures that inhabit the place.

We have been in better toilets than this place.A blight on the main street with various down and outs smoking various types of tobacco. If alkies and druggies are your bag this is the place for you.

Hubo un tiempo en el pub roughest Colwyn Bay era el Imperial, que estaba al lado de la carretera desde la Madoc. cerraron hace unos años y su clientela reubicado por la carretera de la Central. El año pasado Central cerrado y ha reabierto como el pub más estadounidense de estación. Como consecuencia, la antigua Imperial/Central clientela necesitaba una nueva inspiración y el Príncipe Madoc era la elección obvia. Como resultado lo que podría convertirse en un pub muy agradable en una ubicación en el centro de la ciudad es ahora importante rebasamiento con algunos personajes muy impares visualmente en efecto. Afortunadamente, hemos puesto una mesa de fumadores justo al lado de la puerta, por lo que en cualquier momento del día o de la noche tiende a ocupado por una multitud de estos personajes así que si no son conscientes de lo que se encuentra a continuación, que no será un problema, ya que los lugares de interés de la puerta será más que suficiente para no dejarte entrar en primer lugar. Sospecho que los bebedores profesionales garantizan un ingreso decente y fiable, así que no puedo ver este lugar ser revivido en cualquier momento pronto, si alguna vez.

This place went from reasonable to bad many years ago, but a couple of years back it had a new lease of life and was quite acceptable for families and friends - and the food was not too bad. hoping that as it was still trading it must be still fairly good, we paid it another visit.

Called in with a friend for a drink about 10pm on a Saturday night..hardly a hive of activity & looked a bit rough (we joked that the doorman was there to throw people IN!!).Ordered two drinks and had a couple of games of pool... Another two drinks .. When we went to get a 3rd drink. ..a different barman charged us £1.40 extra for the same drinks. When we queried it...we were told *the prices go up after 11pm*! It was 10:55! complete pi** take.. No signs up anywhere to state this. .just a barman on the take probably!... Place was a dump and an obvious drug pusher doing the rounds.... non of which really bothered us.. We just wanted a couple of drinks. . But I draw the line at taking the pi** and charging 4* prices in a no star establishment! They obviously assume people are too stupid to notice!

Estuve aquí el viernes por la noche con un grupo de amigos y familiares de todos los grupos de edad y había algo para todos si nosotros! Pasamos una noche y definitivamente regresaremos. Volví a ahora para una comida con mi hija. fue simplemente fantástico. El bistec cordero era para morirse, como el puré un Yorkshire gigante llegó. La casa típica comida casera a un precio estupendo! Encantador x

Tuve un desayuno aquí una o dos semanas atrás. Tengo que decir que era un desayuno adecuado, todo lo que puede querer en su plato estaba presente, incluyendo black pudding. quizás podrían reducir las porciones de tostadas, como para la cocina, Mmmmm, muy bueno, no para nadar en grasa como en otros lugares. El servicio es muy bueno, y volveré otra vez.

My parents had been to the prince madoc the week before for some food and said the breakfast looked nice and they were not wrong. The presentation was excellent, the breakfast came out on a nice tray with a glass of orange juice with portions of sauces and salt and pepper - the breakfast itself looked and tasted lovely and was made up of 8 items and came with 2 rounds of really thick toast - highly recommend it! Also it was reasonably priced at £3.50 - Awesome!
