Absolutely ruined , my friend had booked a table for two after two phone calls , on arrival they didn’t have a table for us , couldn’t even find us in the booking , eventually they found us , left us stood around for ages , starter arrived, 2 triangles of bread with pate , main where do I start boiled veg in a dish , cold mash , 2 halves of a rock solid cold roast potatoe, Yorkshire pudd, that had you thrown it to the birds you would get done for cruelty , the beef was ok , but that’s all I ate , dessert was a joke , I’ve had Sunday lunch there before and food was fantastic, this was disgusting, bland and cold , and still had to pay £55 each for it

Well we're do I start been this pub before for a Sunday lunch but today was an absolute disaster I had booked this table for 2 the end of October got there today to enjoy our Christmas dinner to have no table ready for us and when they did eventually get us a table it was a disaster from start to finish we had pate which I thought would come with toast no it came with 2 measly pieces of bead and wen Christmas dinner finally came out the roast potatoes was so hard they would of knocked you out the yorkshire pudding was no better I wouldn't mind but at £55 pound ahead I would of expected better no way on this earth will I ever be having Christmas dinner in there ever again very very disappointed 😥

Visited with my parents and young kids for a lunchtime meal. I was a little hesitant as the food used to be pretty poor, but I'd heard good things about the place since the new owners took over. The staff are very welcoming and try very hard to accommodate. I'm pretty hard to please when it comes to food - I'd rate the food as simple but honest and homemade - the cottage pie in particular was hearty and delicious! The chips were fantastic - I've rarely had better ones, even at very nice gastropubs! The prices are unbelievably low. It's far better value - and nicer - than Brewers' Fayre for instance. I will definitely be back (and my parents have already been back twice!).

Worth waiting for,a large party was expected who had booked,so worth booking in advance, food was great and good value, I did notice a board with a recommendation for Tuesday, the lunch menu very similar to the normal one ,but at the special rate of 2 X £12:00' this I will try today 😊 only real problem is the tables are large (6),so a small party feels like you are taking up to much room.But booking in advance is best 😁

After a trip over to Llandudno we were looking for somewhere to stop to eat. 2 mins off the A55, weren't quite sure what to expect but we were really glad we found it and will go back. Catered for 8 of us, small menu - but much rather that and freshly cooked food than what you get at other places. Had fish and chips, lasagne and kids meals. Portion sizes good, service great, clean and welcoming. A space where the kids could feel relaxed too and welcomed our dog with treats! Topped off by giving our children Easter eggs as we left! Really pleased we found this place, will definitely go back.

Sunday lunch was amazing,we had the platter,kids had dinner,service was excellent ,food was piping hot,very friendly staff, booking again for my sisters birthday next week,highly recommend 😀

Had lunch yesterday with my husband, I had the fish and chips he had the chicken curry both meals absolutely lovely, piping hot, fresh, homemade and delicious, great value for money Very friendly, helpful staff I would highly recommend a visit 😁😋

Food not great if you go for the fish absolutely nothing too it just batter if that what it was ..... Meals took ages to come best part of 45 mins not sure why as it's empty in here. Staff are friendly well the older woman with short white hair was a little rude when we asked for sauce. Won't be coming again very disappointed !!!!

Brilliant Sunday lunch, we had the beef and chicken and it arrieon a big log, there were only 2 of us but my life this log lunch could serve 4. All food was well cooked and we were even offered to take the left overs home. The pub is very clean with happy friendly staff, the atmosphere was brilliant.

We arrived to a friendly and pleasant atmosphere. The waitress was really attentive. Supplied our drinks in a speedy fashion. The food arrived which exceeded the quality expectations of us and was fantastic made with quality ingredients and cooked to perfection especially the hunters chips. Without doubt will be back!

This pub was taken over just over about a month ago now and it’s gone so down hill. They have painted the bar PINK, put some crappy scruffy fairy lights outside that are hanging off, they have put an indoor play area where the stage used to be. They carry dog mess THROUGH THE PUB! I first called in here to ask directions as my in car charger stopped working and I couldn’t use my sat nav, without hesitation they invited me in to charge my phone and an added bonus was that they served decent real ale for the husband. We called in a couple of times over the weekend and the welcome was just as lovely. We all went for Sunday lunch (despite having made alternate plans). The portions were generous the food was fresh and again the service was impeccable. We have friends in Old Colwyn who will now be making a point of visiting more often.

Would recommend this hidden gem of a pub for friendliness , food and Enormous Ice Cream Sundaes!. Easy park and plenty of room to sit outside in the sun with my 80 year old mother. £2.75 for a pint of lager very reasonable and i look forward to trying the 2 steaks for £14 one of these Mondays soon. The new landlord seems to have plenty of new ideas and the pub looked nice inside and on the terrace areas outside. Hope he can continue to put entertainment on and i shall regularly review his facebook to know whats on. My pet hate is TVs everywhere in your face and this pub didn't do that. Background music is much nicer.

We booked for 15 people, when we arrived we found new owners weren’t aware of our booking, they put tables together for us which was easy as the pub was almost empty, that should have been an indication in itself due to never being empty, food choice was acceptable except specials board items weren’t available, meals came at all different times some had even finished their food when others arrived, food was just basic pub food, won’t return as wasn’t impressed at all

We met my son here for a rare, relaxing Sunday lunch. It was anything but relaxing. The service was dreadful - with girls who didn't have a clue. Couldn't even find the kettle! When my son ordered he was told my vegetarian meal didn't exist and had to get the menu to show them! I ended up with the only thing on offer - a nut roast. Just before the meal arrived the girl came to say they had the nut roast but no vegetarian gravy! So dry nut roast and watery vegetables. My sons beef was extremely chewy and the veg inedible. The chicken wasn't much better. Beware - on ordering we were told that they don't take cards on a Sunday for food - cash only! We just about scrapped enough together and watched it go into a plastic box under the counter! Easy to work that one out then!! Not somewhere we would ever go again.

Hubby and I decided to have our lunch here on a recent Wednesday. It had a large free car park. The Barman was welcoming and friendly. We were the only customers in apart from a lady drinking at the bar. The decor needed a bit of TLC. The toilets were clean and OK. We ordered the £10 meal-deal (2 x jacket potatoes with cheese & beans) plus 2 teas which came to £12.40 (card payments accepted). We thought this was good value for money until the food was served. Although the presentation was alright, the jacket potatoes were small and microwaved. Mine had a patch of brown skin/flesh. There was only a scattering of cheese and a spoonful of beans on the top. The side salad was fresh but it was covered in a garlic? dressing. I ate mine but Hubby didn't as he prefers his salad plain. If we did return, we would choose something different.

Tried this place as we'd seen posts on Facebook in the past, kept saying we'll have to go and try it, and was in the area on the way back from a hike.

Came for an a treat for my mum, I had rang in advance to check 2for £10 was available on Saturday was told it was only to arrive and all menus said Mon to Fri and bar woman/waitress said it wasn't on weekends and kitchen...

Food was awful and cold. Services was ridiculous waited over 1 hour before starters. Vegetables seemed frozen. Food was not very nice at all and felt a bit saddened having to pay for it waste of money. Service , staff and food all a shambles....

Went today for Sunday dinner . Beef was nice and food was ok . Tables was a bit sticky and services was polite think the chef needs to wear chef whites and not a tracksuit . Also not one table a chair was matching :/...

I went for Sunday lunch with a friend to check it out as what to expect if we decided to go for a family Xmas dinner. Glad we did as Xmas dinner would have been disappointing if it would have been anything like the Sunday roast.

This place is a shambles. Food is cr@p to put it mildly, landlord is disgusting, filthy long nails and scratches his @rse whilst serving drinks! Landlady is an alcoholic who’s sits at the end of the bar screaming at the staff with a bottle of Smirnoff ice in her hand whilst claiming she’s on the sick and can’t work! Avoid this place like the plague!

We made a reservation for 5 people to enjoy a 3 course meal on Christmas Day at 1pm.

Staff were very friendly and helpful but the food was very disappointing. Vegetables were frozen and tasteless. Presentation was poor. Coffee was served in a cup without the saucer.

A xmas get together with friends for a meal. Couldn't fault mine, was delicious from start to finish and not a thing left on my plates. Ordered from the set festive menu - three course for £13.99. There was a large party in at the time and we had a little wait but the staff were all extremely busy and worked very hard. The staff were very friendly. Definitely worth giving the place a go.

Thought we would give new management a chance, Manager friendly and polite. Ordered Sunday Roast, was not toldyou had to order at the bar, Once ordered waited at least 30 mins, everything on the plate, no side dishes to chose your veg. Ordered a crumble, took at least 45 mins, when it came it was not what I would called a crumble, it was just heated fruit, which would have taken 5 mins. They did not charge for the crumble. A big disappointment on the whole, won’t be going again.

After a day of driving and sightseeing we decided to have dinner at The Mountain View. Immediately once we got through the door you could see staff casually chatting away without care. We awkwardly waited to ask about our table after being told to wait while they continued their chat. When we finally got a table the women covering the tables informed us she would fetch some cutlery after cleaning the other tables. Instead she took a picture of the mess on her phone and walked off. Her colleague then came over and cleared the other tables and had a sudden realisation that there was no music! Not that the only table of customers were still waiting for cutlery. After a few more minutes we simply walked out. Long story short, you're better of going somewhere else.

Called here on Friday 27th October Place was quite at first ordered food paid around £27:00 when the meal arrived it was bland ordered a mix grill that was well over priced and the chips and eggs must have been fried in old oil as there were black burnt bits all over them definitely won’t be calling again and would definitely not recommend it - had to give it one circle as there is no minus

The owners were completely off putting and had dirt under their nails. The main owner ‘Andy’ scratched his buttocks and then poured pints - vile.Don’t come here if you’re expecting a song on the old karaoke the owner ‘andy’ will not allow others to sing as he himself attempts it. Andys wife seems to be very suspicious and looks asif she is sweating all the time. Slight scent off unclean dogs but what can you expect from owners like this

Ordered at 7.45. Told at 9 that one starter wasn't available. Finally other starters arrived but missing ingredients. Chips were saturated in fat and an odd colour. Burger was grisly. Barman told us the chef had been called away on an emergency. Fair enough but they should have said " no food tonight". What a shame. Almost full refund given.

We went on a Thursday and had the two steaks and a bottle of wine for £20 great value , steaks cooked to perfection the chips are home made the pepper sauce was nice and creamy , the wine was acceptable with a choice of a bottle of white,red or rose the staff friendly and helpful well worth a visit to make your own mind up.

Mahogany coloured chips and same shade of batter on the fish. Had to send it back and get a refund. Wouldn't go again.

We went to the Mountain View after seeing it advertised on Facebook.My mum in law is confined to a wheelchair.There is a disabled access to the rear of the building which was locked. The staff though, went out of their way to help us in.The food was fabulous.We each ordered steak which was cooked to perfection. My mum in law is hard to please when eating out and she was very impressed.The Mountain View is definitely a place we will be visiting again.Would highly recommend this place to our friends.

We'd seen an advert in the local paper, with a discount voucher and decided to give this local revamped menu a try.The pub seems lively and modernWe opted for the Thursday night special. This was two meals for £20.00 with a bottle of wineThe wine, one of the Hardy range was delicious. The food took some time to arrive. My steak burger was fine but the batter on my husband's fish was the colour of brown shoe polish reeking of over heated oil and parts of the fish undercookedThe chips looked as though they were last week's reheated, very brown and limpUnfortunately people are used to crisp frozen chips and the art of starting from scratch seems to be lost. We won't be going again and the 20% off voucher is in the bin

Weather was awful so I wasn't surprised that the place was empty. Food ordered, 25minute wait. Ordered burgers, was awful. Meal was cold, triple cooked chips eww cold and un edible. Burger was a sloppy mess with over cooked onion rings congealed cheese which you could not separate from the bacon ( solid) homemade coleslaw was worst I've tasted, whole meal was disappointing . over priced at £8 85. Was the cook off that day? Waitress was only good thing about our visit, very helpful and friendly.

Popped in for a quick pint while enjoying a Saturday afternoon walk with our dog. £2.60 for a pint of Carling Extra Cold, excellent value and very refreshing! Staff were very pleasant. We'll be back soon to try the food.

Popped in for a drink after work. Been a while since I’ve last been in and it was really enjoyable... a friendly atmosphere (don’t under rate this!!) and reasonably priced drinks. Food looked & smelled really good and the people in there seemed to be really enjoying it so we are hoping to pop in with the family to try the food really soon.

Called Friday 29th September menu pretty comprehensive time was about 5 00 pm quite a wait for food considering we were the only people eating in there, my wife had the fish and chips choice very disappointing when it eventually came batter on fish rock solid, the flan that I had was acceptable although the chips looked they had been in and out of the fryer a couple of times.another couple came in and ordered ,we had finished our meal and considering there was only ourselves and the other couple in they had not had their meal when we were leaving they also made the comment I wouldn't like to see it if it was busy ! !

Went for Sunday lunch because of all the good reviews, waited half hour for lunch which is ok if they are busy. The family beside our table left as they had waited 25 minutes for ice cream for their little girl. They noted that it must have changed hands as the last time they were there it was great. Both our dinners were nearly cold, and inedible. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.

Was really looking forward to visiting this pub and walked 3 miles to do so. On arrival at 4.30pm the doors were locked and the whole place in darkness with no notice on the door to indicate why it was closed. Disappointing.

not sure what has gone wrong the lady staff member was in a really bad mood, and not for the first time that i have been there, saw how she spoke to other dinner's not good a smile would go a long way have been to this pub many time's but have called time on going again, Have friend's who swear by it and cannot praise it enough .good parking outside the food was ok but not prepared to put up with grumpy staff

Just popped in for a drink after a walk - don't expect to have children playing football around your table which is a shame a the lager was lovely and would have stayed for another!

We held our granddaughters christening here with approx 80 guests attending. The guests were provided with a lovely buffet which was plentiful in supply to say the least. The atmosphere was very accomodating and the children in the celebration were treated to free use of the bouncy castle kindly provided by the owner. Thanks to Andy and his staff for making the party special.

Excellent afternoon in the mountain view. Had a ranch burger and was excellent quality and price to match. Locals are a very friendly bunch had a good laugh with them and a couple of games of pool, great pub at fair prices.

Came here with my friend for lunch as we quite often do, once again they did not disappoint. We both opted for the 8oz gammon steak, chips, peas egg and pineapple. It was so meaty and juicy. Great portion size and even better at 2 for the price of 1 off the lunchtime menu. The cajun chicken is also lovely. Good choice of kids meals too. Freshly cooked food at a great price. Warm welcome from all staff. All round a friendly welcoming place with tasty fresh food and good range of drinks to choose from. Will most definitely be back.

Went on a Sunday for a roast dinner, Felt so uncomfortable by all staff as it was unwelcoming and they were unfriendly and stand offish! Prices was overpriced for what it was. Only one choice of meat and staff was not helpful when question was asked about this!Took over an hour for the food which was understandable due to it being burnt.....looked like it had just been pinged in the microwave The UNLIMITED veg was so disappointed when asked for more felt like a burden by the staff and took a while to come out and was only able to have certain things which that wasn't stated on the menu! The meat was not very nice. The whole meal was overcooked, burnt, took so long to come out to the table and was in editable. The staff was unfriendly, unhelpful and unapproachable First and definitely last visit!!!!

Me and my partner visited this restaurant early in the month for a pub lunch. As we walked in there was an awkward atmosphere and the staff and other customers seemed to give us a very unapproachable vibe. Sitting down, the table and menus were sticky and unpleasant to use. Ordering was daunting as staff were unapproachable. The food took a long time to come and smelled unpleasant. The portion was small, the food was almost inedible and we couldn't wait to leave. We asked for some extra veg as it was unlimited, although we had no intention of having any as we felt we deserved some extras as the food was so poor considering the premium price we payed. Luckily we didn't order desert, and left as soon as we could! I had previously visited a long time ago before it was refurbished and enjoyed. This experience was incomparable and such a disappointment. Strongly recommend they improve, as the Afon Conwy down the road is so much better and cheaper. Until then, avoid!

It's been years since I've been in here but had occasion to be invited to a Christmas party last month. This is a nice pub with half decent food, a good bar and a disco. It's not my cup of tea but that doesn't mean the atmosphere in this pub won't be loved by others. All age ranges seemed to be catered for so go on - give it a go!

Went for lunch with some friends. Ordering at the till, the staff member was either very new or very poorly trained. She managed to add an extra meal to my order by listening to the person standing next to me discussing their order. I ordered a burger and paid extra for cheese and bacon. Then after checking my receipt at the till I found a pint of beer added on. This, of course, delayed everyone else in my group putting in their orders. Luckily nobody else had a problem with their orders. When my food arrived, no extra cheese or bacon but with the smallest brownest bit of lettuce and tomato that I had asked to be left off. My food was then taken back to the kitchen, one rasher of bacon and the tiniest bit of cheese ever was added then returned to me. I felt thoroughly ripped off. Everyone else said their meals were ok. Nothing special and definitely not worth the price. I won't be going back there to eat.

Warm welcome in this locals pub near Colwyn Bay. Basic pub food at Gastro Pub prices, poor quality and presentation. Very limited beer range, solitary Pedigree hand pump.

Decided to try Mountain view as we felt like a night out as a family . Thought I'd take a chance and order a steak , not many times I've ordered a steak in other restaurants and it's actually arrived as I asked for it medium/rare! On this occasion my steak was perfect , so pleased . Compliments to the chef! Highly recommended.
