Nearly gave this place a miss due to previous reviews, but after speaking to a local, I was advised to give it a try. My wife, our two dogs and myself called in on the off chance mid-September 2024 for an evening meal. The Lobster Pot has been under new management since Easter. The owners are still finding out what is wanted by both locals and, at this time of year, the decreasing tourist sector. It is a typical pub grub menu, but as we were rather late eating, we were informed that a few items were sold out, so be prepared to adapt if your favourite dish is not available. I am not a vegetarian, but was recommended the vegetarian lasagne. It was delicious and served piping hot. Limited puddings but take what is on offer. Both the apple crumble and chocolate brownie were great. A choice of bottled cider, an IPA, which ran out as I was going for a second pint, so settled for a Felin Foel Double Dragon to round the night off. Lovely atmosphere and engaging in conversation with the owners, staff, locals and also a guest staying there made it a great memorable experience! Will definitely return next September to The Lobster Pot as we continue our trek along the coastal footpath. We wish everyone at this pub every success for the future!

Went for food had chicken goujon burger, chips were cold burger bun was stale not impressed with service at all, Sadly ended up going for a second time, ordered cod and chips, again chips were cold mushy peas were barley defrosted, and cod had no taste at all, suspect it was pollock as this is cheaper and tasteless, had apple crumble for desert, it tasted more like cod than the cod but certainly not like apple, I would avoid this place like the plague, which coincidentally is what it looks like the staff have caught

This was an ideal place to explore the local area or walking the coastal path. The location was very quiet, especially overnight. Marloes beach was a 30 minute walk across fields and down country lanes with Skomer and Skokholm islands just off the coast. The food was good, although the beds were a little on the firm side for us.

Stopped here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by some good, basic pub grub. Chose the ham, egg and chips and it was one of the best pub meals we have had on this trip. Service was not overly welcoming, not unfriendly but just so-so. Value for money was reasonable - god beer and cider.

We stayed in the village of Marloes in a self catering cottage but ate at the pub both nights, they even let us come in for breakfast even though we weren't guests of theirs. Chris and Sarah were very friendly, helpful and really trying hard to make a success of their new venture. Nothing was too much trouble, and although rushed off their feet over a very busy Bank Holiday weekend they welcomed us warmly into their pub. The food was great, good choice and not a very long wait - which is great with a 6yr old child! Although they'd not been landlords for very long they certainly looked like they're going to make the place great. A very valuable addition to the village. We wish you both every success, we'll see you in August when we bring Fergus back for a camping trip! All the very best wishes, Paul Clare and Fergus x

A seemingly popular pub, but our impression was not a good one. I had spent time speaking at length with the manager prior to booking as I have Coeliac disease and needed to feel reassured that there was an understanding of gluten free foods and the issue of cross contamination. He was very reassuring and even offered to provide a packed lunch for us on the day we were planning to go to Skomer Island. The menu on the website offered good, basic pub food, which was perfect for my partner as he is not happy to eat curries or mussels etc. I booked a room, and after Christmas I discovered that the manager was leaving and a new manager was taking over. Again, I checked with the owner's daughter that there would be no issues and was told that there had been a full handover and the new manager was aware of my dietary requirements. It advertised that the pub opened at 12 noon, so we arrived at 3.30 p.m. to find it closed. A note on the right of the door said it would open at 4 p.m. So we sat at a wooden bench on the car park waiting for it to open. We heard a click, but no one came out to let us know they had opened up. We tried the door and it opened. There was a lady in the dining area and she took us to our room. I was keen to speak with someone about the gluten free options, and she told me that Chris would speak with me and he would be in soon. We bought a drink and went to sit in the beer garden. No one came to speak with us, so we went inside the bar and asked if Chris had arrived yet. He was in the kitchen and she went to fetch him. I told Chris that I was Coeliac and asked whether that was catered for. He pointed out a couple of things on the menu. Not really that good as we were booked for a 5 day stay. Also, the menu was not the same as the one on the website, and there was very little my partner would eat. So I asked about breakfast and whether there were gluten free sausages. He said the sausages were vegetarian, to which I replied that I am not a vegetarian and most vegetarian sausages are not gluten free. He said his were. He also told me he had 4 gluten free rolls in a pack in the freezer. They were what were left from a bigger pack he had bought. He then asked me to tell him what I wanted and he would go and get it for me. But as the pub was now open for food I don't know how he could as he was doing the cooking. And that was besides the point. They knew we were coming and were not prepared. Neither of us felt reassured. I am not precious, but if I ingest the smallest crumb I am violently ill, so I didn't want to ruin our trip. Suffice it to say we politely told them that we wouldn't be staying and luckily found an establishment that was understanding, organised and reassuring.

We were passing through as the beach was one of the best in the area. The pub is clearly designed for holiday makers as there was a row of fruit machines and childrens toy machines akin to an amusement arcade. We ordered two pints of Peroni and a packet of crisps and the bill was £12.30. The last time I paid £5.65 for a beer was at a Gatwick hotel. The menu was basic but again top money . Lasagne , chips and salad £13.50 . Typically a ten pound meal. The garden was tired and clearly not been the focus in terms of improvement during lockdown. There was some building work going on above the pub . My approach would be to make the customer areas strong as a welcome back.

We arrived for a 3 night stay, greeted by a lady who told us we'd only booked the room for one, then accused us of changing the booking online when she realised that it said 2 people.Having booked a family room, we were shown to a double room that had ripped curtains. The lady stated that they had new curtains but hadn't put them up yet, asking if we could put up with it for the duration of our stay. When we questioned the fact that we weren't in a family room, we were told that the room wasn't ready. We agreed to go elsewhere for an hour so that the room would be ready when we got back.We had dinner here on the first night, which was a little disappointing. We ordered our food at the bar, and the barman walked off straight after we'd told him our order, without acknowedging what we'd said or waiting for our drinks order. When the food arrived, the battered fish was split in half, but we were told 'it will still taste the same'. The next morning, we had a lovely cooked breakfast and found out that the bar had flooded. All in all, every time something else happened, we just had to laugh. Definitely not worth the £125 per night.

No complaints here: stayed 2 nights, eating hearty meals, being generally warm and comfortable, amid friendly staff and regulars. Oh, and singing, too... an unexpected bonus.True, this place hasn't joined the artisan sourdough movement yet. You will not be laying your head to rest on a sustainable pillow made of recycled jute, nor dining on a sausage made ethically up the road by a website designer who has 'returned to his Welsh farming roots' (ie, discovered a great great grandfather from Merthyr who once had a pig), nor receive your eight-quid shot of small batch gin with a little handwritten thankyou note and some instructions about how to enjoy it, authentically. If you're after that, there are plenty of places you can find it, and I'd say it's pretty clear from a very small bit of prior research what you'll get, and what you won't.I'd call this a comfy bolthole for a few nights, amid beautiful country. Many thanks for my stay.

Poor quality food only exceeded by even worse service. Beer battered fish was late (we think they forgot the order), dry and tasteless - and nowhere near worth the price being charged. Cheered by the blackboard outside which said food was served until 3 and another sign on the wall saying food served until 2.30. When we went in we were told that they had stopped serving. Apparently the reason was that it had been quiet. If that is their attitude to customer service, I am not surprised it is quiet. Don't let this stop you visiting this stunningly beautiful coastline but my advice is to bring a picnic if you want to be sure of something to eat.

We dined here midweek, despite a luke warm recommendation from a local, who only enjoyed the beer, which I thought was served too cold. Whilst the presentation of the main course was good, the fish dishes themselves were disappointing. Chips were fine, as was the sticky toffee pudding, which was the only pud available! The service was quick and friendly. However, £50+ for 2mains, a pudding and 2.5 pints seemed a bit much. Unfortunately, there really isn't really much choice in this area. It's just a local that serves food.

Although there were specials on the chalk board we were told that these weren't available as it was out of season - perhaps the specials could have been rubbed off to avoid confusion. We went in for a quick lunch in the middle of a clifftop walk and the food available was enjoyable along with a decent pint too. The staff were really friendly and the service excellent. Nice food. Would have liked to spend every night of our stay here, but not dog friendly, so could only manage one meal, as weather dependant. The pub tends to be empty apart from dog walkers outside. It's plenty big enough to take a dog friendly area inside. They are totally missing a trick here.Put a big chalk board outside 'dogs welcome' and watch the customers flood in. Crazy not to. With heavier footfall, might even be able to get a better selection of LOCAL brews. Keep the area through the archway dog free.

My family and I went here for an evening meal while camping in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was friendly. To the rear of the pub is a lovely beer garden. The food was delicious, with a good variety of choice. Would definitely eat there again when in the area.

Nice pub, staff very friendly and answered honestly about the beer choices. Liked the beer which was well kept. The food was pretty standard pub fayre but I found the fisg to be pretty good for my two meals here. It arrived promptly, was hot and there was plenty of it, especially potatoes - don't order side dishes the volumes are more than adequate. One constant niggle for me, please wash the glasses properly, it really did detract from an otherwise excellent pint of beer.

Food was really good, we'll presented, and the blonde barmaid was fit. Which made my experience very worthwhile. I will definitely revisit.

I ate here two nights in a row while staying in Marloes. I had (different) fresh fish twice, as well as starters and home cooked pudding. These were a Friday and a Saturday night. Irritatingly, they don't take bookings (or so I was told - but they clearly had reservations for some large groups) so I turned up early to get a table. Well worth the inconvenience though: two enjoyable meals.

We spent an afternoon here in the lovely beer garden whilst on holiday, staying at the local campsite. Really friendly staff and set in gorgeous surroundings, this is a great place to stop off after cycling or walking the nearby coastal path. We had lunch whilst we there and the food was good with plenty of choice.

Stayed locally ahead of 3 nights on Skomer Island. Excellent service, great food and atmosphere (well Wales did win) at reasonable prices - we very much enjoyed and look forward to returning one sunny day.

Very average pub food. The broccolli in the broccoli bake tasted like it was frozen. Does not serve lobster.

We turned up at the lobster pot, thinking it would be a local's bar and were pleasantly surprised by the decor and the staff. We ate in the garden and were served quickly and the food was tasty and homemade. Really glad we went!

We visited the Lobster Pot at the weekend but was immediately disappointed. We are dog owners we arrived at 9pm only to be told dogs are not allowed. This was a shame as the pub was set out nicely including sofas ideal for a long night. We headed into the lovely garden but it was too cold to stay. We popped back in on the Sunday night which was slightly warmer but cooled however the staff helped us with a nice takeaway meal off the menu. Such a shame as they lost out on our business over 3 nights and while we have a dog we won't be going back. If you don't have a dog it's a nice place!

Pleasant dining area, staff friendly although the staff serving food seemed very young and in my opinion needed better training. For the price the food was just average even though it was well presented. The meat in the pie was chewy and the fish batter was overcooked. There was an apology but that's all.

Poor choice of beers/lagersPoor food - boring, bland and greasyPoor servicePoor decoration and table layoutPoor ambianceSimply poor but the only place to eat in Marloes. The Griffin Inn at Dale is only a few miles away but far far superior in all respects but is at least 20% more expensive.

Stopped off to have a full English Breakfast. Absolutely delicious. Great value for money. Service was so friendly and prompt. And you couldn't get better views from the windows of the beach. The restaurant was extremely clean, and tables were cleared as soon as people left. I can't recommend this restaurant/cafe enough. Pop in for a cup of tea, natter, and enjoy the views or have a meal. Either way, you will leave with a warm tummy and a smile on your face 👍👍

Refused an omelette at 3.33pm as cooked food finished at 3.30pm despite board advertising outside. No apology.. They have lost potential regular customer.

Valentines Eve Dinner Breakfast 'stuff' left out on the side tables No atmosphere what so ever and no mention of valentines day bar the cheap printed menu Grunge style waitresses with unkempt hair and seriously downtime outfits totally inappropriate for this kind of place. No style no finesse such a shame when the venue is really quite special 35 mins wait for 1st course to arrive No bread, no crudités Terribly mediocre food No condiments No table cloths, table left dirty No glasses cleared away 2 courses both had components missing had to tell waitress That lot cost around 130.00

The Inn is very well located on The Pembrokeshire coastal path. We were there during our walking holiday for 3 nights. The rooms are big enough and have a spacious bathroom. It’s great to have a drink outside on the terrace after a good walk. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast are great
