Valentines Eve Dinner Breakfast 'stuff' left out on the side tables No atmosphere what so ever and no mention of valentines day bar the cheap printed menu Grunge style waitresses with unkempt hair and seriously downtime outfits totally inappropriate for this kind of place. No style no finesse such a shame when the venue is really quite special 35 mins wait for 1st course to arrive No bread, no crudités Terribly mediocre food No condiments No table cloths, table left dirty No glasses cleared away 2 courses both had components missing had to tell waitress That lot cost around 130.00

Visited recently with a family of 13 for a lunch. Service was quite disappointing, one waitress in particular didn’t want to be there! Waited a while for drinks and were only offered drinks once. It wasn’t a busy day. The ‘light bites’ caesar salad was pretty awful, practically no dressing and very over priced. It’s a shame as following this visit, I wouldn’t recommend to friends or family again.

A whole glass of wine was spilt on two of us as it was being brought to the table before we had ordered our meal. Everyone soaked . Accidents do happen but, not a good start. Lunch was eventually ordered (no menu's available as they were soaked), which took nearly one hour to arrive. Why? The restaurant was nearly empty. The Welsh Rarebit was very minimalist (almost no cheese in a bun) - very disappointing. Not the correct way of cooking Welsh Rarebit at all. The other choices were okay but, the Caesar Salad very small. Embarrassing for my husband and I as we weren't paying, our guests were taking us out. A glass of wine was £7.00 and we had ordered two. I think the least the Hotel management could have done was insist we didn't pay for one of them, as a gesture of goodwill. A disappointing lunch all round, and I feel you really should be able to do better than this, as it was not a cheap lunch. £67.00 for four main courses (snacks) two medium glasses of rose, and two bottles of lager. Had to put our wine soaked clothes into my washing machine on our return home.

If I could give Slebech Park zero stars I would. My hen do was a disaster all because of their staff’s rudeness and mistakes. I do NOT recommend going there unless you want your special day ruined! This was booked as a lovely surprise for me a week before my wedding, the staff messed the order up (which we have proof of) and insisted charging my Man of Honour for their mistake. While my MOH was very polite in showing them they were wrong they argued for a solid 20 minutes in front of the whole party. “The customer is always right.” Seems to be lost on this establishment. We waited a long time to received what we’d actually ordered too. They also MIXED vegetarian food with meat... to anyone who is Veggie, Pescatarian or Vegan you guys know this is a big No No, but they still didn’t even apologies for this. I am beyond furious at the way my hen’s and I were treated. What was meant to be a wonderful surprise turned bitterly sour.

This is to replace the review taken down by the Managers of the Establishment. Out with a group of friends. Parking a bit of a challenge when we got there as something else going on in the marquee. Plenty of tea and coffee on offer, then the food came out. The bread on the sandwiches was beginning to go stale and the fillings nothing special. Then there was a selection of cakes - bara brith, welsh cakes, scones, lemon cake and a cherry cake. They were ok but the cherry cake was very dry. I had been told by other people they found the food uninspiring. Since the review that was taken down, most of the group have met up in work and discussed the afternoon tea, the general consensus amongst us was that it was over priced and of poor quality and as a group we will not be going back.

This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had when going for afternoon tea. My partner and I were given a voucher as a birthday gift and booked a table for 4pm on Sunday. As there was nothing positive about this experience, I'll list what went wrong: Poor service on arrival, weren't made to feel welcome and was a very awkward atmosphere. No menus, just asked before we sat down tea or coffee and had an eye roll when we asked if there was a cold drink option. Tea arrived 10 mins later with no milk, that arrived 10 mins after with no apology and the tea had gone cold by this point. Then we waited, and waited, with no explanation as to why it was taking so long. The food arrived nearly an hour after sitting down, and was inedible! Scones were burnt, sandwiches were awful and cake looked like left over wedding cake from the day before. We were so angry at the experience we just wanted to leave at this point. One waitress offered us our voucher back but we would never return so there was no point. I don't write bad reviews, but this was such an awful experience I felt it had to be said.

Slebech Park is a little "out of the way" but well worth a visit for their afternoon teas. The service was very good and the food well presented and, as there was far too much for us to eat in one sitting, the waitress offered to wrap the cakes so we could take them home - much appreciated. When I phoned to make the reservation I told them I was on a gluten free diet and they certainly catered for that with a good selection of sandwiches and cakes. My only disappointment was the GF scone, or more precisely, the lack of ..... the top tier plate contained a pot of jam and a pot of cream (see photo) so where was the scone? I realise that I was given more GF sandwiches to make up for it but for a restaurant of this calibre surely a little home made gluten free scone (or even shop bought) isn't too much to ask for? We may return, but only if they can guarantee a GF scone!

We went here for lunch on some friends recommendation. Rather disappointed. The setting is lovely and food in very nicely presented. I had Seafood Risotto for my main. It came with 4 Moules which formed a vey significant part of the dish. 3 out of the 4 moules had not opened. I pointed this out to the waitress who after going to see the chef reported he was preparing some more for me. 4 lovely moules arrived just after I had finished eating the rest of the course. For a place trying to be upmarket I felt they let themselves down. My wife had the minute steaks which she said were very nice. This is the sort of place you might go to for a special occasion but for the prices charged I would expect more care.

As a comparative local, I know the hotel and been to a business event not long after it was first opened. It was not established as a hotel then and was intially used for events. Thought it would be a pleasant spontaneous lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary as we had not made any specific plans. I did ring and told them we could not get ther until near 2pm as we had to give a lift to a neighbour. They said that was fine and the receptionist sounded really pleasant so was quite looking forward to it. First of all, the entrance to the restaurant was more like the back door. There was no one around. It turned out to be the way in. The waitress was not very welcoming although she warmed up a bit after when I engaged her in some conversation. There was no one else present and it rather looked as if the place was closed although afternoon tea was advertised. Lunch came and I was totally underwhelming with some very wilted lettuce. It was so impressive that I cant remember what it was, other than vegetarian. My husbands was a burgher of some kind which was not like the picture on the website. When we went to pay, coudn't find anyone. Went upstairs to what appeared to be the kitchens - no one. A chap with dirty whites came down eventually but could not help so suggested we went to the reception across the yard. I went across and was told "she was probably in the cellar". Went back, alough very nearly left. Eventually she came with an apology saying she had to go and do something with stock I think. Overall, I think it took 15mins++ Felt sorry for her but perhaps it would have been a good idea for her to let us know. We might have wanted something else. We decided to go for a walk (by this time there was 2 lovely ladies sitting outside having coffee. I really is a lovely location and we did have a very pleasant walk with our dog. We decided to give it another go and have a cup of tea and cake or something before we left as we were going to the cinema. Evidently we had missed "tea" by 15mins. We could have a cup of tea however and I asked if she could find "something" even just a biscuit? She came back with THREE biscuits. (for 2 people?) I think she had just scrounged around and that was all she could find. I think she was emabarrassed. How many stars does this place have???? Is it 5? The place was like a morgue. I am sure it is wonderful when it is on form but it certainly doesn't offer that level of service all the time. Very disappointed. Definitely off my "Christmas Card List!

We had to wait until they laid a table. There was ONE occupied table when we went in -one other came in later.Ordered main course -asked for water with ice and lemon. Water came -small carafe (three of us) and no ice or lemon.Beef delicious -lamb mediocre. Had to ask for horseradish. Vegetables already on plate -no tureens, no choice. Were more than al dente -virtually raw. With lamb no roast potatoes, only mash -plate did not look full..Asked for another carafe of water -stressed lemon/ice -which came.Desserts -small and not nice -bread & butter pudding was a finger of stodge. They brought us dessert spoons -no forks. Badly trained staff -food disgusting and not cheap. Will never go there agiain, though I have been several times in the past -never as bad as this.

A special treat outing for myself, my partner and my grandparents. We fancied an afternoon in Slebech Park enjoying the scenery in the winter weather. The fire was lite which was lovely and warm. The service was pleasant and friendly from staff. The negative was the selection brought out to us. I would recommend when booking that staff inform you of what sandwich selection you can have or when you arrive to give you a choice. I personally can be a plain Jane when it comes to sandwich fillings but recommend always supplying something plain as the majority of people would appreciate this. The amount of sweet things provided was lovely especially as you had a choice but it would be equally as nice if there were as much savoury options available. It was a nice treat and would do now and again but £15 per person seems abit steep for what you get. Possibly do a deal for two people?

We stopped off here for an afternoon cream tea. Hadn't booked, but we just fancied a cup of tea, some scones or cake and maybe a hot chocolate. The lady at reception said she would have to check the if they could take us and came back and said that it was fine. We walked down to the terrace, where an extremely rude, young waitress suggested they only serve tea at 3pm (it was already 3.05pm) and when we asked for an afternoon tea menu, made us feel most unwelcome. As it happened, there was only 1 other table occupied on the whole terrace or in the restaurant, it was close to dead, so maybe they fancied an afternoon off? Nevertheless, another waitress popped over with menus and was much more pleasant and helpful. The tea, scones and welsh cakes were good, if not spectacular. Hot chocolate a bit disappointing. Overall it was a bit of a letdown as the setting on the website looks more spectacular than reality. Don't get me wrong, it's still a lovely setting but appears there is quite a lot of construction, so perhaps once that is completed, it will be even better

The recommended dish was warm scones with jam and cream which was delicious. The several teas on offer, however, did not seem to include English Breakfast and we were not consulted on whatever the substitute was; so service a little bit lacking. This was the 3rd time we have tried to stop here and have either lunch or a coffee. The advertising promotes lunches, afternoon teas and dinner "7 days a week". Perhaps it's just us. The problem is that when they have an event / "wedding" everything else comes to a stop. I believe the management need to decide whether they are open for business or not ! It surely doesn't take too much for 1 member of staff to look after the restaurant, even if it was to supply drinks and cakes. Have now given up and will continue to visit other local establishments that are open for business. Ps. When they are closed for a function, they need bigger and more specific signage at the front gates before you travel the long driveway.

He came back to me saying ok we might be able to do so and didn't even invite us in and show is the table. So we took the leverage to show our self the table and we didn't have any setup for the cutleries in the table. We waited till 3pm and then the waitress came to us and said ok now i can order for you the afternoon Tea, so we were led to wait that long with no single of hospitalities and politeness so i was patient. After that he and She another waitress same attitude and even worse brought half of our order and pretended that i did order only this and still no cutleries. We ate from their Christmas lunch menu at £15 which offered a choice of 3 starters, mains and puddings. e.g. potted ham hock, feathered beef and creme brulee. All of the dishes were delicious and my gluten/dairy free diet which we'd mentioned when booking was no problem for them with options being offered on presentation of the menus. For those of you with disabilities mum, who has limited mobility, was able to access the restaurant via a patio door (she would have been able to access the toilets by going outside, up a ramp and back in again but luckily didn't need this but at least the option was there)After lunch you can stroll around the gardens along by the river which, if the tide is in, is spectacular - for bird lovers there are numerous waders to watch. All in all a great place to eat and stroll with a lovely country house ambience.

Our visit to Slebech was made on the second of our 'adults only' days. Yesterday we visited Saundersfoot and ate at the excellent St Bride's Hotel and Spa, so we were in a position to compare the two eateries for lunch.Over the 'phone contact with the establishment was polite and efficient with accurate route directions taking us to the door (coming from Haverfordwest, turn right straight after the Slebech sign in the left hand side of the road). You approach down a fairly long driveway and see the house through the trees. It has, to me anyway, a most 'unPembrokeshire' feel to it, looking more like our recently visited Forest of Dean. The birdsong and scent of the trees plus the understated grandeur of the main building is quite special. The car park is quite rustic, more akin to a forestry car park and from there we walked towards the house. Signage is, I found, confusing with signs directing you to 'Reception' and 'The Park @ Slebech' etc. After a brief pause, we walked under an arch and found a door which took us into a little landing between the service area and stairs up to the lounge. We were greeted by a member of staff who seemed rather taken aback to find us there and were invited to go upstairs for a drink (we were 30 minutes early) which we did. We had a coffee (quality 3/5) and tea (well, 5/5 for ordinary). Copies of Vogue and Shooting Times kept us entertained and then we looked at the menu. A second waitress came to greet us; very pleasant, smartly dressed if somewhat nervous, telling us was he had recently returned to work at Slebech and thought it was a very special place. Grounds maintenance was taking place at the time...it has to take place sometime but this combined with a repeating CD and the whirr of the overhead halogen bulbs were a bit if a distraction. My first gripe was the table which was wonky. I noticed one waitress checking other tables nearly but we were not offered another table. I said to my husband that we could have done with the ubiquitous beer mat!Anyway, my husband and I ordered Mushroom Risotto with a Greek salad and Lamb Shank with seasonable vegetables. We both really enjoyed our meals although I'd suggest slightly more cooking for the risotto (and, by the way, the plural of risotto is Risottos, not Risotto's). Just beforehand we were offered a warm bread roll which was quite small and the shape of it resembled...erm...a dog poo (sorry, but it really did have this shape!). It tasted very good. We also had a bottle of 'Slebech' tap water and ate the meal looking out of and around at the barn in which we were sat. It was a really lovely day, we had the room to ourselves with others sitting outdoors. The one waitress who had come across as pleasant but nervous could do with more experience and hands on training. She was quite quivery when trying to hold and pour the water bottle but actually struck me as someone with a great deal of promise in the hospitality sector, especially if she remembers to offer the flavour of the soup of the day and doesn't forget that one item on the desert menu is not available. To my surprise, my husband asked for a pudding and we ordered the apple tart and the peach and raspberry Melba sundae. Except for the badly chipped glass bowl it was in, mine was terrific and rather large (nice to be given a proper sundae spoon). My husband's apple tart was a let down; very thin pastry with too little apple. He described it as 'Mr Kipling-esque' and was not impressed. He's a bit if an amateur pastry 'chef' and said the pastry needs more bite. We didn't have coffee but, after paying the bill, walked outside for a little while. It surely is a stunning location and, personally, I'd like to return...but his poor pudding put the dampner on my husband's experience.

Went here for a champagne tea as part of an offer. We had never been there before and were delighted at the fantastic location. The Park is approached along a delightful tree lined and very long drive and on arrival you discover the building overlooks the higher tidal estuary of the River Cleddau. There is a short walk from the car park to the reception but we had to be taken to the dining room - maybe we missed the signs. The dining room is not too large and the tables do not crowd each other. Two large side windows overlook the estuary and we asked if we could have one of them only to be told it was reserved for 3 people. Another table was offered but had to be laid so we declined. Much later the table for 3 turned out to be a table for two and had to be re-set. Not impressed. The champagne arrived, cold and bubbly but we did not see the bottle and such practices always leave doubts in my mind. The tea was average but with a little effort it could have been so much better. There was no choice of the type of tea. e.g., Earl Grey, Ceylon, etc. It was just tea! And it would have been so much more in keeping if it the tea service had been china instead of a catering/hotel type of service. The sandwiches, one round each person, were fresh and had good fillings. They were accompanied by 4 scones with fresh cream and jam and there were Welsh cakes and bara brith. The scones and the Welsh cakes were supposed to be warm but warming them had dried them. The bara brith was delicious. Oh, for an additional half a round of savoury sandwich, maybe a choice of cakes instead, and a choice of tea. In other words, the tea needed to have more thought and variety and in that location it would be an absolute winner. The menus for lunch and dinner looked interesting with the lunch menu including in the starters pan seared scallops, ham hock potato cake, butternut squash puree, crisp cured ham at £8.00 and a 28 day 'dry' aged rib eyed steak (£28) or pan fried fillet of salmon (£15) in the main menu. We were told the fish dish changes depending on what is available. There was certainly enough there to encourage us to visit again. At the bottom of the lunch menu there is a note that asks for feedback, but other than the waiter, no-one was to be seen.

This beautifully located place takes some finding but in a county where good restaurants are hard to find this was a good experience.Only went there for lunch but views of estuary are stunning and a walk around the grounds brings a real sense of history.Did not get off to the best of starts as they did not have my reservation made only two days prior and the dining room would probably need to be packed to reduce its slightly cold, austere feel but my mains of Confit of Duck on parsley mash was lovely. My wife went for Cajun Chicken breast which was well presented but ordinary. The two sweets of Toffee pudding and blueberry Brulee very pleasant. Service was fine after the poor start and we will return .

We obtained a voucher from Travelzoo in their weekly e-mail for offers, one of these was a meal offer at the "The Park @ Slebech restaurant. The price being for a lunchtime meal for two @£ 10.00 per person.Choice...We found that the choice was a bit limited.Starter/main meal. You could have a small portion for a lower price or a larger portion for a higher price. The choices where, soup, welsh mussels, coats cheese, Caesar salad, fish of the day, pork sausages handmade, confit of duck, burgers, Cajun chicken. We went for the beef burger, it was a home made burger which was nice, plenty of meat, the only problem was that it was overly salted, they put some ham on it which made it even more salty, so we had made the wrong choice.Apparently the people dining at the next two tables had opted for the fish on a bed of tagelatelli and overhearing their conversation they said it was very nice. The voucher came for the main meal and dessert. The dessert's were ok nothing special. The service was ok, the venue a little cold looking, a little out of the way, for local's it was ok to find as we knew where it was, but people from outside the district might have had some problems finding the place.Would I go back? I don't think so, but there again never say never, although friends have been there several times and like it, so you need to try for yourself.

This is a very nice restaurant in an amazing location. All 4 of us had 3 courses and the food really was excellent. A great menu with quality produce that's skilfully cooked. Will definitely return in hope that it's equally as good the second time round.

Having eaten here previously, we were glad to find the whole dining experience at Slebech to be as good as we remembered. It is worth a visit just for the views across the Cleddau Estuary whilst sat at your table. These were complemented by an excellent Steak with swift and polite service making it a great evening to remember!

The service was a disgrace we went for Mother's Day my husband said we have a young child who needs a high chair when he placed the booking which he was reassured would be fine. When we sat down we asked the waiter if he had a high chair he laughed and when he saw that we were begin serious he said he would go and see if they had one. He came back half an hour later with no luck he said would be right back for our drinks order and that was another twenty minutes before another waitress came and took drinks and food order. Luckily another family offered us their high chair when they had finished. The food finally came and was delicious made up for the service. After pudding we waited and waited for someone to come take our plates and present us with the bill but nobody came. In the end we decided to just go and pay the bill on the way out. Then the waiter charged us five adults meals when there were only three adults and one child's meal as my youngers just shared what we all had. He quickly changed it once I pointed out the mistake then asking if we would like to give him a tip. The staff we saw were rude and unbelievably slow but the food was delicious.

Enjoyed a meal here with family with vouchers from a national web site. Situated a few miles from Haverfordwest and just off the main road, it's situation is a gem.Sitting on the banks of the Cleddau estuary(for which you are invited to take a stroll around the area and sea shore after your meal which iis nice),The restaurant which is in a converted coach house forms part of the Slebech park hotel. The interior of the restaurant is bright and airy, yet they have managed to keep the old charm. The food was very tasty, service was attentive without being in your face , and staff were pleasant. You can enjoy your coffee outside on the patio if the weather lets you,and all in all, a pleasant experience. Look on their website, and offers do come up from time to time, which is worth looking at.

We came for a family wedding & although the day itself was beautiful, our stay was not so, breakfast was ok but with slow service, eating in the evening the food was superb but again service was not up to the standards (a smile or two wouldn't go a miss) Our room was nice but i think the whole building could do with a little love, (paint work, carpets etc) On the whole it was nice but disappointed with the service.

Booked a lunch here through one of the in-vogue internet "offers" so we were eating off a fixed price menu.... We had a window table overlooking the lawns and the water and if the weather had been kinder it would have been stunning. As it was though it was throwing it down but that didn't detract from a thoroughly enjoyable the occasion - the food was excellent and good value and the staff were helpful and attentive. Certainly worth making an effort to find.

We had visited the Park Slebech restaurant for an evening meal some time ago and were impressed by its high standards. An email invited us to a £10 autumn deal for Sunday lunch so we decided to try it again. The restaurant is housed in an impressive, tasteful decorated, converted coach house. The architecture here impresses where that of the associated hotel does not.The starters were imaginative and well presented. A ham terrine came with a lightly dressed salad and a sweet piccalili. But the main course lacked a similar panache. Vegetables were good and crisp; roast potatoes were fine. But tender beef suffered from being almost cold in part and apparently seared by a heating lamp elsewhere. The Yorkshire pudding was rubbery. No horseradish sauce was offered. I resorted to extra gravy to try and cheer things up. Elsewhere in the room pork was served without apple sauce because "we've run out". Otherwise the house Zinfandel complemented a bright sunny autumn afternoon and the puddings were much complemented particularly a rice pudding crumble with cream. We learned later that one chef had been taken ill, but as the waitress said: "That's no excuse."

We had bought a voucher from one of the net sites which offer reduced rates to tempt people to try restaurants. Having been to Haverfordwest before, we decided to try The Slebech Park Restaurant. It is situated on the Cleddau River, the esturian section. The service was rather slow but we enjoyed the view from the window of the river so it wasn`t too much of a problem, though it did limit our time in the area as we were only in West Wales for the day.We opted for a main meal and a desert. I think my husband could have eaten a little more than he was given but it was sufficient.I had the fish of the day which was advertised with crayfish tails, but these were not available....(Lidl sells tubs of them so ?).It was haddock and very enjoyable. My husband opted for a simple chicken dish....nothing special.Deserts were of an ice cream base.My husband used to be a beekeeper so he opted for the honeycomb...but it was simply a trickle of what looked like honey, combined with ice cream and cream so he was a little disappointed. We weren`t told at the time of ordering that the voucher excluded us from ordering some of the meals so we were rather surprised to find an addition to our bill at the end of the meal.Rather , naughty! The best part was the walk after the meal. A fab Norman church , dating from either the 12 C or 13 C. Once it belonged to The Knights` Hospitaller, and, inside it houses a very large chunk of an ancient yew tree. I felt the urge to hug it as it was alive around the time when The Battle of Hastings took place...so really ancient. The church had a certain magic quality and another couple who were exploring it, felt the same. Some old gravestones add to the interest. Certaily worth a visit.Even if you aren`t going to have a meal at Slebech, I would recommend a coffee or a glass of wine and a visit to this ancient church. Slebech apparently means, in Viking tongue, `Stony beach`.A secluded gem and gets a thumbs up, overal. The setting won`t disappoint and I certainly wouldn`t have minded staying there to explore a little more.

Had afternoon tea with family. The food was very good, particularly the freshly baked cakes, but the staff although pleasant were very inattentive. I don't expect anything over the top, but equally don't expect to have to ask for tea half an hour after receiving food, when I've ordered afternoon tea. Overheard another dinner complain that they had waited nearly an hour for desert. The restaurant was not busy, nor short staffed. The hotel is is a stunning location, but is miles from anywhere, it needs to give people a reason to make the effort to go there. Sadly, although the dinner menu looks great I was left feeling a bit disappointed by the experience and although we are local, will not rush back. Warm service and a good atmosphere are so important!

We ate in the restaurant on two occasions as were staying in the hotel for 3 nights. There is a choice of menus but we chose the set menu as at £25 for 3 courses we found it to be good value. We did not experience any of the problems previous reviewers seem to have had with the waiting staff or warmth of the building. There was a real log fire in the hearth and the staff were welcoming. The food was nicely presented and tasted delicious - we will definately be returning to Slebech Park.

Were resident at the Slebech Hotel and this is their restaurant (where breakfast is served which was also exceptional) and eat here two evenings. As other reviewers have mentioned it is quite remote, about 2km or so off the A40 on a private estate, but well worth seeking out.The remote setting gives the small restaurant an intimate feel, made more so with the real fire and simple surrounds. (In summer no doubt the doors are opened and the terrace used) The renovation means no fussy furnishing, referencing the previous function as the cart house, but this adds to the charm of the place. The table de hote is £25 and excellent value. The lamb chops (cooked pink) were divine and fell from the bone; fabulous crayfish and prawn fritters to start; beautifully presented desserts with lovely icecream. The service was excellent. Both evenings were quite a treat.

Throughout 2009/2010First trip to the Park for parents 50th birthday was a fabulous evening - only problem being the temperature (the dining room has very high ceilings and is never quite warm enough for me)Second Trip for Valentines, not quite as good but pleasant enough, not worth schlepping out to.Third trip (charity volunteers lunch) with a large group (approx 40) organised to say thanks for all our Volunteers hard work over the last 12 months. Food was not remotely special, we were charged for 50 even though confirming 40 attendees days before. This and that was added on at the end (£5 for a cup of cold coffee - how charitable). Finally a number of our group were less than thrilled to speak with the owner of The Park who was downright rude to everyone. Real shame as the location on a lovely day is gorgeous.Other staff were nice enough however not good enough for us to come back.

Slebech is a great location, quite, beatuliful estuary, limited mobile phone reception.Came across sign to "The Park at Slebech" whilst driving along a country lane. The drive from road to house is very long - thought I'd got lost but eventually ended up at the property. The restaurant is in a converted barn like building with bar / secondary dining area on an internal balcony.Decently furnished, but not plush. No table clothes so atmosphere was a bit ... barn like. The menu was interesting, but contained some unfamiliar terms and when I queried what they mean the waiting staff didn't know - I overheard other similar questions and responses from fellow diners. The waitress on the bar was on job placement from a university in Swansea - doing a hospitality degree - but had clearly been dropped in at the deep end by the management with no evidence of effective induction training. The more experienced waitresses also didn't really seem to have their heart in their jobs - and certainly had not been taught how to place plates on the table.Which is a shame because the food was fresh, well cooked and presented attractively. £25 for the 3 course table de hote menu was good value for money and the drinks were priced at the level you'd expect for a good restaurant. Most of the diners the night I was there seemed to be hotel residents, probably reflective of the remote location. I have not visted may other restaurants in Pembrokeshire but suggest that this one is well worth going a little bit out of the way to find if you like good food.

I recently took several members of our family to Slebech for sundal lunch as we'd seen it advertised quite a lot, but had never been. The setting is lovely as was the food - which was £19.95 for 3 courses with plenty of choice. The only minor quibble is the price of drinks which are quite steep for the area.I would recommend to friends for sunday lunch and in the summer we'll be back to try out the afternoon tea,
