Very poor. On the 2nd of Nov. 2024.We (my husband and I) ordered the 8oz Sirloin with triple cooked chips, pepper sauce and garlic bread. What we received was the (to the picture) the 7oz steak that could have been purchased on a sizzling platter for £10. (Our meal was £73. It came on a plate with a forest of side salad with a drizzle of mayonnaise. (Unlike the peas on the sizzling platter ). Our triple cooked chips were barely warm pale oven chips in a wire basket roasted cherry tomatoes which was the warmest part of the meal besides the garlic bread. For ten pounds more we could have had a well worth the money meal in a restaurant in town. Such a disappointment! And felt ripped off! This was a birthday meal and we had returned because the meals were so lovely but it has clearly changed hands since then.

Had a five night stay near Tenby and had two meals here, but could have quite happily eaten here every night! Excellent choice of food…typical gastropub or a Thai menu. Having been before on other visits to Tenby we were looking forward to a meal here. The offer of curry of the day does make you think it’s the Thai curry the pub / restaurant is famous for but alas not - a tikka masala??!!?! The steak offer is decent and we had that and a Thai green curry. What shocked us most was the cost of kids meal - 2 sausages, chips and peas £9.95. Really?? Dick Turpin was around when the oldest pub in Tenby was opened! The service was ok and the curry and steak really nice! We would go again for an adult meal but not a kids meal. Even side portions of chips were £5.95?

We were in Tenby for a few days, chose The Coach & Horses as it had good options for a pescatarian. We have to give this pub 5 STARS for food, atmosphere and hospitality! We thoroughly enjoyed it here. My husband had the whitebait for starters and couldn't believe how many there were! I had the homemade carrot & coriander soup and it was delicious! Made by the manager himself Vio who was such a lovely chap & made our experience all the more better with his attention to detail, friendliness & overall professional but warm welcome. Our main course was scampi for me & pork for my husband. Again, delicious and huge portions! We enjoyed the food, the welcome & the atmosphere so much that despite the fact that Tenby has so many eateries on offer, we decided to book again the following evening. We were only staying 2 days in Tenby but I think if we had been staying longer we would've eaten there every night! Why go anywhere else when The Coach & Horses has everything you want & need? You'd be a fool if you didn't pop in at least once in your stay! We look forward to visiting Tenby again next year & if course, visiting The Coach & Horses! Thank you Vio & all your staff for your hospitality!

It's a great looking pub with plenty of history. Reckoned to be the oldest pub in the town. Famously Dylan Thomas visited in 1953 and got so drunk that he left his manuscript of Under Milk Wood in the bar! The menu looked good but we enjoy a decent pint with our meal and unfortunately they don't serve cask ale which was very disappointing causing us to move on.

Gorgeous food and outstanding customer service. I booked a table last minute and when we got there the staff sat us straight away and were very friendly. There was both english and Thai menus. I had the most amazing prawn curry, the corgettes were very fresh and there were lots of prawns, it’s the best curry I have ever had you could tell it was freshly prepared. My husband had noodles which he also enjoyed. The friendly lady and gentleman waiters showed exceptional customer service, checked on us often and doubled checked if everything was ok and if we needed more drinks. Cant thank all the staff enough, we had a very lovely romantic evening.

As regulars in west Wales, we have been trying lots of different places. The Coach and Horses is such an interesting place- link to Dylan Thomas, etc. The decor sets the tone and is very muddled, traditional pub with Asian accents. It advertises authentic Thai food but the curry was a strange gloopy consistency with huge chunks of courgette. Not inedible but not authentic. Staff were lovely but it needs to decide what it is and ditch the Thai food. It isn’t good. The pub grub was better

Shared a starter (the mixed sharer I think) which was also very nice. Not too spicy and quite flavoursome. I enjoy fruit in my mains like you get at authentic thai places but know this isn't for everyone. Overall would recommending. Decent value for money

Stopped for lunch with the family. Good food (the Mega Cod is huge), pleasant service, historic venue, small clean beer garden for smokers. An absolute scam. Cheating customers. Ordered the mega "cod on steroids" and a friend ordered the scampi. When it arrived, the cod looked massive (See pics) but when cutting into it, the batter was hard and the meagre amount of fish stale! It was 90% batter. The scampi were practically empty shells, both served with soggy undercooked chips. Complained to the bar staff but just went red and said nothing they could do. £42 down the toilet, an absolute disgrace.

After reading the menu decided to try this establishment sadly the “mega” fish was awful it was greasy and the plate was loaded with unnecessary garnish. Similarly the gammon was not very appetising as this too was greasy and again contained a substantial amount of unnecessary garnish. Would definitely not use this establishment again

The fish was so big it had to be broken in half to fit on the plate! I’ve been visiting Tenby for nearly 50 years and had never stepped foot in this pub before, that being the case I’m now kicking myself as this is by far the best meal I have ever eaten in Tenby in all the years I have been coming here. We had a green Thai curry and cod and chips. The portions are huge and full of high quality produce; The fish was so big it had to be broken in half to fit on the plate! Unfortunately I couldn’t finish it all which was disappointing as it was so tasty. The green Thai curry was also amazing… Staff are very friendly and there is a nice warm and cosy atmosphere. Everyone looked like they were impressed with their meals.. My only regret is that I have missed going in this place for many many years. First class.

This was a strange one to review. It started really well but finished like a damp squib. The pub is very old and cosy. We were welcomed by friendly staff and we chose to eat from the Thai menu. Starter and main course were excellent and served promptly. Both staff in turn asked if all was well with the food and we heartily agreed. But there it all ended. We would have asked for a dessert and coffee. Our waiting staff just kept drifting by without eye contact and we felt quite ignored. So that was that, half a meal. We paid up and went.

I am sorry but you shouldn’t be serving Thai food at all. Nothing is authentic about Thai food. Just a packet sauce from the corner shop. Sometimes you get lucky with amazing Thai food in unexpected places. This is not one of them. I couldn’t eat even half my main - from the Thai menu - noodles with chicken. The chicken was chewy and overcooked. The noodles were incredibly salty. My toddler kept asking for water after trying some, so I know it wasn’t just me. There were random cannellini beans floating around in there. Never seen that in a Thai dish before. The starter - duck spring rolls were ok, not amazing but not terrible. My husband had to pick out bones from his fish. Decent chips and peas, though. We were the only customers, at least on our side of the pub. So that should have given us a clue, really. I am annoyed I spent £56 here on partially inedible food.

I was lured in by the offer of a lamb shank on the outside of the building. Only to read on the menu that lamb is not available. Seems like this has been going on for a while, otherwise why bother writing around in the map? That was the first disappointment. The guest room has some bumps and obstacles for the head. Even though the staff pointed this out to me, I stumbled again. The toilets urgently need to be modernized. The drinks menu doesn't deserve this name. They only know wines, cocktails (a very limited selection) and schnapps. Beer and soft drinks? The staff will be able to tell. I ordered a local beer and what I received couldn't be a crueler insult to a German beer drinker. Unfortunately I didn't understand the name of this drink, but I could have drunk some water. The selection of food is not outstanding. You can find all of this in other pubs too. Then I ordered some Thai cuisine. The taste is okay, the prawns are particularly tasty, but the price is outrageous. Totally overpriced for the quantity. Conclusion: mediocre pub
