The Lost Coins in Pembrokeshire

Oh dear, went here for Birthday Lunch , Booked in advance , to be fair service was good ,we were seated quickly and ordered our drinks , not to long to wait for food, when it arrived it was very small , our friends had the fish goujons , just 3 tiny pieces a very small bowl of very large chips 9 in total and a tiny bowl of mushy peas , my wife and I had Scampi, again huge chips which were very dry and tasteless. For dessert we all had so called apple and cherry crumble , not sure what it actually was but it was just some fruit with what looked like Quaker Oats sprinkled on top served with very small amount of custard, not good at all which is a shame as we all live locally but can honestly say we won’t be rushing back . Shrink flation at its best .!!!!

This pub caters for everyone's needs. The manager is very friendly and always well looked after here. Fantastic choice of food and drink

Meal was very good - plentiful and tasty. Service was excellent by very pleasant and courteous staff. Just what was needed after a busy workday. Will definitely visit again soon. .

Upon arrival we firstly had to wait a while, after which we were greeted and shown to our table and given the menus by a very friendly female member of staff; we were then told that there were a number of meals which are not available and these were crossed off, so we ended up having 2 meals which we didn't really want, it was either that or nothing!! on a positive note, the fish & chips I had was very nice and was also a generous size. Having ordered 2 small glasses of House Red wine, we were very disappointed to find out after we paid the bill, we had been charged £5.25 for a 125ml glass of Gulara Shiraz and £7.75 for a 125ml glass of Waipara Pinot Noir!! Not what we asked for, so just as well we had a 30% off Mains voucher which reduced our bill by £10.42, which otherwise would have cost a total of £48.91. We will not be returning here again.

Went to the lost coins yesterday,new menu not impressed if your a vegetarian 😕 only like 3 things on the menu u can have no pie like there used to be,place has gone down hill for the price you paying.

Had the chicken and chorizo skewer on flatbread it was lovely. Both of my friends also enjoyed their meal.

Our server, Leah, was friendly and efficient. The food was competitively priced, delivered within a reasonable time, and was very tasty.

Party of 19 catered for with very prompt friendly service, nothing too much trouble. Excellent food. Great atmosphere.

Walked in, got sat quickly, we couldn't decide on lunch so chose to share starters and some chips, all cooked really well and came out quickly, all staff friendly and checked on us, was a lovely lunch for a last minute decision.

Always go when we're in and around haverford west ( we've never had a bad meal, although they've gone a bit skimpy on the chip portions lately) atmosphere good staff friendly and you get a good passion fruit martini 🍸

We walked in without booking, straight away someone came to see to us and located a table for us which was in the table order area. The service was exceptional and very nice and helpful staff. We left there full and satisfied.

Booked table online it was very easy to do. Arrived to a lovely friendly welcome, the place was buzzing. We were shown to our table immediately and drinks ordered. All waiting staff were on top form. Food was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, served piping hot and fresh produce, so tasty. We will definitely return to the Lost Coins.

We’re staying at the hotel across the way, after travelling there with a young child, eating latish, didn’t want to explore around the area, came here for convenience and that I came here about 6 years back, and thought it was good then. So ordered roast turkey as there was not any other roasts left, and a kids meal, served very quickly Now sadly the roasts were poor; our food was just warm not hot, lacked any flavour, I ate it quickly to avoid it getting any colder too. No one came over to check on the food until we finished, so maybe feedback to the kitchen about food temperature. The staff member who served me said there’s a new menu coming, hope it’s it better than that.

The food was delicious. A little pricier than your average HOWEVER the quality made it worth the extra few pounds. The on tap amber ale Pedigree was also delicious. Service was friendly without being intrusive. Great stuff

Excellent Sunday lunch. Really good in every way, from the generous portions of everything( he had beef, I had pork) to the exceptional tasting apricot stuffing balls and perfect yorkies. Delicious puds, brownies with chocolate orange ice cream and apple and cherry crumble. Will definitely return. 😁😋😁

Yes, this is a good place, I've had three dinners here this week so far and it's very good. A great menu of well cooked food from the kitchen, kudos to the cooks. Shout outs to Michaela, Charlotte, Zoe and Taylor. You've motivated me to suffer the vagaries of Google maps. That's how good these guys are. 👍👍👍

The staff were really busy but very good natured and did their very best to do their jobs to the best of their ability. Our food was fine, mine was a little dry if I was to be picky, but overall was good value for money and we'll definitely go again.

Very friendly staff who looked after us all very well , food was very tasty only thing was that there was to much sauce on the hunters chicken. Food was cook perfectly and drinks went down well. We visit at least 2 to 3 times a year and yesterday was my sons 13th birthday and he had a wonderful time . We will be back next month. Highly recommend

Quick, good with kids, good wine though £12.50 very steep! Enough choice but I do wish jacket potatoes where offered! Don't want chips. Always good to go to with family or friends.

It was a lovely ambience with great food and drinks

Husband and I dropped in without a booking a couple of days before Xmas. Unfortunately due to large numbers of people and shortage of staff had to order our food and drinks at the bar. We did however have a table in a quiet corner and the food was tasty and beautifully presented. All-in-all very good.

Food and service was great. Celebrating a birthday so it was ideal that the menu on a Sunday is not limited to just Sunday roast like many other places

We pre-ordered our food prior to arrival so thought it would be a slick service, how wrong we were!!, The only change we requested upon arrival was that we move tables as we right next to the door of the kitchen and would like a quieter table, we asked and were told this was fine, but drinks would have to be ordered from the bar which was fine with us. After waiting 40 minutes at the new table no one had come to acknowledge us so we went to the bar and said we had pre-ordered, oh ok I'll go and tell the kitchen the bar person responded. An hour later we finally received our food which wasn't too the same standard (dry turkey) overcooked vegetables! Again no one asked if the food was OK, we asked for extra gravy and cranberry sauce, the gravy arrived but no cranberry sauce. When we finished our main meal no one thought of clearing the table so we had to ask for the dishes to be removed and to again request our pre-ordered deserts. We tried to ask why the confusion had occurred, but the waitress was very terse and wasn't really sympathetic to the lack of service, all in all it was a very disappointing experience.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly helpful staff, our server was Adam, very helpful. Service was well timed and food presentation was good. Food was cooked as requested and requests no problem. I love this restaurant it is always a treat to go here.

I was staying at the premier inn opposite the lost coin. The food and selection of meals were mouth watering to say the least and the staff were exemplary in their service and the way in which they catered to the guests every need. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant and will be visiting again. 5 star 🌟

Friendly efficient staff and great food. Very busy and we hadn't booked, 8 off us in total so knew it was going to be a big ask, we had a short wait at reception before we were seen to due to it being so busy, but as staff passed we weren't ignored and were told someone would be with us shortly, once someone arrived we were seated, ordered and paid for good and drinks on the app, some things on the menu weren't on the app though, not sure if this was because they were unavailable or if the app not up to date. Food and drinks arrived quickly and was very nice.

I booked a table for 9 at The Lost Coins as a family birthday celebration for my 85 year old Mum. We were a large party covering 4 generations. The girls who served us were brilliant - friendly, attentive and patient. Our meals were excellent - tasty and plentiful. I wasn't sure what standard to expect but The Lost Coins definitely exceeded my expectations on all levels. Thank you for a brilliant and special time.

We booked again this year for our annual Christmas 🎄get together. We all ate off the Festive Set Menu and WOW😋. It was delicious, cooked beautifully. It is always so busy which I think proves it is the best place to come to. I never understand why some people are so rude about their visits. In 10 years we have never had a bad meal or poor service. Thank you for yet another amazing visit and we look forward to seeing you again in the new year

Ordered the hunters chicken,eventually,when it arrived at the table,the chicken was over cooked and so hard around the edges,that it was impossible to eat.I suggest to replace the chef,as i personally fail to see how chicken breast can be over cooked so much.This is our 2nd time here,but this has put me off returning again.The standard of cooked food here is very poor,in my experience and honest opinion.Steer clear,unless you want to waste your money 👎

If you have allergies, this is the place to eat. Twice now we have been and their attention to detail is second to none. Prices are reasonable and service exceptional. But the staff seemed very flustered and busy. We got moved from our table in a dining area to a small table in the bar area, we’d already waited 40 mins after food to order cocktails and dessert but nobody came except to move us (in which I then asked could I order but told to wait) Then waited another 35 mins for someone to come take the order - which never happened - so we paid and left, without the dessert and drink that we’d wanted and 75mins wasted waiting for things :( My last experience was really positive and I’d left a positive feedback and generous tip then. I feel bad pointing out the negative but was just our experience. It has put me off coming back unfortunately

Restraunt has a v nice interior, the front of house was v pleasant and courteous and he showed us to our seat which we had not booked. The female attendant took our drinks and main meal order, 2 sirloin steaks, one was med rare and the second medium as I don’t like to see blood on my meat. The attendant was just efficient, first thoughts were that she appeared v authoritative and not particularly friendly, she was overseeing many tables. Our meals came after about 2030 mins. first impression of the steaks were that they looked too firm and constricted. My initial judgement proved that the steak was hard to cut with the steak knife. It was difficult to chew even when I cut the meat across the grain into small pieces. The female attendant after 20 mins came to ask us if our meals were OK, should have come sooner. I told her that my steak was terrible and my husband’s steak not good but he doesn't like to complain. She blamed the supplier of the steak, not the chef. I said that the steak should never have been sent out to us as customers. Take it off the menu, not available, after all it LOOKED hard!The attendant became overbearing to myself as a 77yr old lady and insisted loudly many times that it was the supplier’s fault. Her manner was most unplesant and to release myself of her rant I had to tell her to go away. IT would have taken too long to put in another order, the damage and spoil to our occasion had been done, we just wanted to leave.I struggled to eat half the steak and was not charged for my steak. An unpleasant experience, mostly from that waitress who needs retraining on customer care. It was our first visit to The Lost Coin.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the lost coins, service was great and food was delicious, plenty of it and extra gravy if we wanted it! One of our party had a diary intolerance which was accommodated for. Matt behind the bar was really efficient and made sure we were well looked after. Will definitely be back for Sunday lunch.

We had the ham hock with mustard sauce, and it was extremely tasty . The service was really good.

Had a lovely meal at lost coins this week. Lucy was our server and was perfect throughout and very efficient. We are regular customers so highly reccomend visiting, lovely food and lovely afternoon out.

Very slow service for both drinks and food. My lasagne was very dry with no white sauce, Dry Cesar salad, appallingly. This place needs both new chefs and new management because the standard has gone down hill very fast in past 12 months. Reply. I did complain on the 2 occasions about it, first time my lasagne was replaced. I have photos of everything so if you want them posted here also, it can be done. Sort it out and you'll get better reviews next time. Very simple.

Plant based burger wasn't cooked , no garnish sauce was disgusting. Hunters chicken was hard and needed a steak nife to cut through. For the price paid was awful. Never go again

Down here on business so popped into our favourite restaurant. Always so busy which I think speaks volumes about the place. Food was lush- I tried the lamb shank with my 30 % off mains voucher. Team were so friendly and polite even though they were rushed off their feet. Already looking forward to seeing you again in December 😊

Waited over an hour for our food to arrive. Had to remind staff we were still waiting. The food though was very good.

Quality of the food was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant, busy so had to wait 40mims for food but did let us know at time of ordering which was helpful. Beer did seem a bit pricey.

Booked last minute for my partners birthday for 7 of us, food was lovely especially the mixed grill! Staff were amazing! Not a single mistake with the orders considering there were 7 of us, food came out hot! Excellent service, will definitely be returning! :-)

I would highly recommend anyone to go to lost coins,, whether that be breakfast, lunch or dinner. I have had exceptionally bad experiences recently at a couple of local places (mallinas neyland and cafe rose pembroke), and what a breath of fresh air lost coins is. The food is very very good, and very reasonable prices also. Every time we go there they are so accommodating, friendly, polite and have exceptional customer service skills and delivery. Thank you for always making our trip with a new born baby easy, that makes such a difference. Your staff are an asset to the business they really are.

Friendly staff, very clean but I missed the Rotisserie

I’ve been quite a few times now and it has always been good. Now the last time we visited food did take a while and we had to send back one of the dishes however I would still recommend

It was closed when stated on the advert it was open. Did not stay open till 11pm it closed at 9 pm not impressed. I only wanted a hot drink. Car had broken down near by and been waiting for the RAC for two hours in the cold so looked up to see the closest place that was, meant, to be open but turned up and it wasn't. No even colder so please be aware that if you want to go to the lost coin call to check they are open.

Really great place to eat, food was good quality, also has a little park so great for kids, overall, brilliant experience

Amazing Roasts. Beef was delicious. Loved the roast potatoes and vegetable. The vegetarian tart was lush followed by dessert. The team were so friendly and helpful. Our favourite restaurant to visit.

We went to the Lost Coins today but only wanted something light to eat like a sandwich or a panini etc. We was shown to our table and given menus. Two of us are veggies, while reading the menu we noticed that there was only one option for a veggie sandwich which was halloumi and red pepper which neither of us fancied. There was absolutely nothing else on the menu for us to choose from so I went to the bar to ask the lady if there was a bar menu or something as we only wanted something light, we was told very abruptly that the sandwiches was on the menu then she stormed off. Needless to say so did we, straight out the front door. We go to the Lost Coins every year when we’re on holiday as the menu has always had plenty to choose from and a good choice for veggies. Doubt very much if we will return. Such a shame that one member of staff can ruin someone’s experience of a restaurant.

Sunday Roast menus, as advertised online had been sold out, due to it's popularity, which was disappointing, but, the menu was very interesting and had plenty of alternatives. Settled on the sharing platter with cheesy garlic bread.
