The Lost Coins in Pembrokeshire

Lovely place to eat, staff are very friendly. Food was great, we had prawn cocktail to share, my wife had sirloin steak and I had steak americano, both steaks were cooked perfectly, one well done and one medium, the only things that could be improved are to be served on hot plates so the last bite is still warm rather than cold, this was exacerbated by the fact that my chips were only just warm when served but I did have a couple of hot ones, my wife said hers were hot, this suggests two different batches were on our plates. Our server was only learning the ropes, her name was Jody and she's was brilliant, I'd I hadn't been told that she was training, I wouldn't have guessed. We will be back. Thank you

Great food and good service from the staff.

Food was delicious and the atmosphere very warm and welcoming. The 2 ladies on the bar were very friendly and nice to talk to. We holiday nearby every year and always visit when in the area.

Great atmosphere, easy to park outside and good value on the lunch time specials.

We were a party of 5 for an early evening meal. We were looked after superbly by Beth. Refreshing to find that level of engagement and friendliness. Enjoyed the experience.

Beth and Josh were lovely servers, really friendly and checked in on us throughout the whole meal! Food was nice and quick, came out hot, only complaint is the Dijon sauce being a little too strong, but otherwise a really lovely visit - thank you!

The staff are wonderful, so friendly and helpful. You get a warm welcome and the place is always warm and inviting. The whole ambience is lovely. The music playing is brilliant. The food is delicious and always hot when you get it. We had a lovely evening.

We waited 45 minutes for our food when it arrived it was nearly cold. We were offered a replacement but didn't want to wait another 45 minutes as we had a child in our group. The waitress said she would see what she do but didn't come back so when we paid I reiterated the problem and the price of three soft drinks were removed.

I’m very disappointed with the quality of the beer. This is the nearest thing I have to a local and I have always enjoyed drinking Pedigree. However the beer is not up to the standard I would expect from a brewer the taste is inconsistent from day to day and yesterday it was totally cloudy. I have taken the beer back before and was told there was air in the pipes and was offered a bottled beer in exchange which was undrinkable. We have been driving 5 miles to another pub which we shouldn’t have to do if we could get better quality and value beer locally.

Visited for a bank holiday lunch, food was delicious , great service from Lucy, she served us with a smile and friendly demeanour, food was presented lovely and arrived quickly , perfect ! Thank.you

Great pub, good food, friendly staff, only spoilt by it closing at 10pm. Why would you do that when you are next to an out of town Premier Inn with no in-house bar?

We were enjoying our holiday in wales when we came across this lovely looking pub, so decided to book a table for later that evening, the restaurant was beautiful inside and out, the menu had some great choices and the food was absolutely delicious we had the steak americano and the mixed grill it was amazing.

Enjoyed another visit to the lost coins today as a Bank Holiday cop out of washing up! Food was great service was fantastic as always! Special thanks to Ella who was our waitress on her second shift! She did really well!

Had the chicken and chorizo skewer on flatbread it was lovely. Both of my friends also enjoyed their meal.

We had food me, my wife and our 3 kids. Food was a good size and we asked for the kids meals to come out when they were ready. We had them very quickly and out food wasn’t much after. Couldn’t resist having a dessert. That caramel tart is delicious. Thank you to all the staff and will be back

We had a 30% voucher so thought we would give the place a go. Really glad we did. Food was lovely and the service was very quick, efficient and very friendly. It has a lovely atmosphere and the team look like they all enjoy their jobs. We will definitely be returning and will be recommending to friends and family. Thank you for an enjoyable visit.

Reasonable menu. Busy considering a weekday evening. Service a little slow going (order wasn't put through the first time ) which meant a delay. Offers most evenings on meal and a drink Would return

Went there for a family meal at 7 pm Friday . We did not get served until 8 15 pm , because they said the table was a large size . But I noticed other people were coming in after us who had not booked and were being served first . When the meal did arrive there was one meal missing , so they had to wait another 20 minutes for that meal . The meals had been pre ordered from them . But one was changed at the bar when we arrived ( but they got this wrong ) . The waitress serving us was very pleasant and did her best . The food itself was very nice and there was no complaint . However , the problem was that there was a table of 8 men seated near us , who came in and proceeded just to drink , ordering no food . They became louder and louder , shouting at each other and laughing and completely spoiled the atmosphere of the Family orientated restaurant . The waiting staff tried their best , but they were ignored . It was the Manageress job to tell them to be quieter , not delegate to a junior member of staff . I have owned Commercial restaurants before successfully and still have 5 premises which I rent out to tenants . If you want to run a pub facility and ruin your restaurant trade then its the right way to go . Because many people said, it completely ruined their night and would not be returning . I only give this review as a help to you so that you prioritize your restaurant trade and not forsake it for a drinking venue ( for a short term gain ) .

the general ambiance has improved from pre covid times. Four visits over past few months. Staff are bright and friendly. Pity about lack of draught beers

Disappointed this time! Few staff = Slow service! We sat at a table with Chips on the carpet which had been stepped on, we asked if they could clean it up. Good order took 45 minutes to be served. The plates were really cold ,hence the food was too. Hunter's chicken was hard and overcooked, the salad garnish was slimey . (Nothing like our last visit in Dec). Gammon and egg was just really cold and the peas were very hard. Nobody came to check if everything was ok with the meal, the staff were stretched to the limit.

The food was delicious and there was a good variety. Katie was amazing. We were a party of 10 celebrating an anniversary and she was really attentive and helpful. She even organised a surprise dessert when she found out we were celebrating an anniversary. The atmosphere seemed really relaxed, especially as it was a busy Saturday afternoon! The staff seemed happy, and the food was good value for money. I have to say, the calamari was superb! Would definitely recommend and return. Thank you all!

Lovely food and great service yet again

Absolutely ridiculous only wanted to come in for a drink as staying across the road. Several empty tables , quiet and beer garden empty but told couldn't even have a drink

Very helpful waitress called Lucy who gave great advice on foods I could eat due to being pregnant.

We booked a table at short notice...we were seated straight away...but it was only when our drinks order was being taken that we were advised that there was a 40 minute wait for food. We were asked if we knew this beforehand, our faces showed we weren't and decided we would leave, with no harm done. However, as we were on our way out, Bethan said it wasn't a problem in getting our meals out to us in a timely manner as the kitchen had meals ready to go out to other patrons who had previously ordered! Seriously, Bethan couldn't do enough for us! Great service and she's an absolute credit to Lost Coins! 😍

Visited Lost Coins on Sunday 11th February. By far one of the best spent exes we’ve had in a Marstons, our host Laura J was exceptional, cheerful, helpful and nothing was too much bother. Food was excellent. If only this level of service could be replicated across the whole Marstons brand. Well done team Lost Coins

Poor food! Booked with family as there is a 30% off mains deal. Two of us ordered a burger that was supposed to be served with bacon. One arrived without, second burger was so overcooked it was sent back. I honestly expected a succulent meat patty as advertised. Sadly, thin pieces of meat that were overcooked. The replacement was better but still very thin patties of meat. On the plus side waitress was very friendly and polite. When I paid at the till, the person taking payment pressed 'no' on tips button before I made a decision. I would definitely have added on a tip as the poor food was no reflection of the waitresses great service. (Sorry didn't have any cash to leave!)

Can't fault the staff, all friendly and helpful. Went there at Christmas and the meal was exceptional. Went February - last night and food was very disappointing. There was a 30% be discount on the bill but a 30% reduction in the amount. Had the same meal as Christmas, a steak. Not the same steak, a bit chewy, tomato and mushroom did not taste of much either and 14 Luke warm chips. Pudding was nice, a bit pricey, even with the discount. Won't be rushing back 😕

We were made to feel very welcome from onset. Clean and tidy. Felt a tad sorry for the staff as they were so busy and short staffed. They worked wonders, big tables and it was very busy. Please appreciate your workers..catering is difficult and hard work. Food was lovely and again our table was visited by a member of staff to ask if all was OK. They also served us drinks at the table. Just a note, if they are struggling to get around we would have quite happily gone to fetch our drinks from the bar.

This is a popular gastropub with a good range of meal options. Generous portions. Service is prompt and pleasant. Nice range of wines. Dogs welcome. Recommend booking ahead for the end of the week and weekend.

Well organised , meals good bar service good time of day very good the Percent offer a great deal as there ten of us . Waitress service very good. I was crutches so the fact that building iwas all on the flat was great disabled toilet great except the sink was too small so the water went everywhere Everything else really good very happy we had a great time

Service from Lucy J was second to none and the food from Chef Craig was impeccable! Will hopefully be back again in half term. Outside play area was a winner with our kids!

What an outstanding time we have just had at The Lost Coins Haverfordwest. We had the Mac and Cheese for mains and a hummus starter - both were absolutely delicious thanks to chef CRAIG. The service from LUCY J was superb thank you for your warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble. We will be back soon - Diolch

No excuse for serving tepid food, sent it back and it returned marginally warmer but served on stone cold plates and, obviously, microwaved, which resulted in totally inedible Yorkshires. At nearly £16 not good at all luckily we had a 30% off voucher or I...

Great, polite service from Lucy M, who was new to the role. Not waiting too long even though busy. Children served first, which was appreciated. All enjoyed their food; mains were - gammon steaks ('lovely tender gammon'); signature burger (great) and halloumi kebabs (good sized plateful - boardfull really) . Nicely presented. The fries were perfect. Tasty desserts. The children's brownies were generous, dishes cleared! We did use our 30% off voucher, but will visit again without this added incentive. Easily booked online.

Staff we're exemplary, made us feel relaxed and at home. Food was absolutely delicious. Overall a very enjoyable couple of hours.

The food was lovely but we waited an hour after ordering. We wouldn't have normally minded but with 2 young children we got very stressed. We left without ordering dessert in case that would take another hour. Good menu and portion of food was also good. I would not go again with children. Waitress was very polite but that did not make up for the hour we had to wait.

Meal was lovely, we all enjoyed so hats off to joley the chef. Lucy was top class with serving and very accommodating. Will definitely return.
